- Sabine (5/5): Schlechter Manager - Als ich ankam, wurde ich direkt genötigt das Zimmer für 2 Tage im voraus zu bezahlen, obwohl ich über booking.com reserviert hatte und alle angaben bereits gemacht hatte. Da ich Bar bezahlen wollte und ich das Geld im Koffer verschlossen hatte. Stand der Manager neben mir und meinte ich könne erst aufs Zimmer gehen, wenn ich bezahlt hätte. Das geht so nicht, aber ich werde SO keine Drink oder Essen mehr in diesem Haus machen oder noch extra Kosten, da ich nur hier schlafen werde um ihnen keinen Gewinn mehr zu bringen! Wie oben erwähnt!

Mes filles très dessus…l’hôte nous a offert un verre et nous a trouvé un autre hôtel tout proche avec piscine. Il a appelé un tuktuk et a tout pris en charge ! Nous avons organisé notre safari avec l’hôtel et il était prévu que nous pouvions bénéficié d’un late check out qui nous a été refusé, c’est dommage. Nous aurions aimé profiter de la piscine après nous être levé à 4h du matin.

- Oßwald (9/5): - Lage war top, Pool war angenehm, Zimmer sauber, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Klimaanlage hat nicht so gut funktioniert, bei 16 Grad nicht richtig kühl geworden und im Bad zwei Fenster nur mit Tüte geschlossen, dadurch immer eine Hitze im Bad.

De gjorde iordning ”frukost to-go” som vi kunde ta med oss på morgonen eftersom vi åkte så tidigt till Yala. Det var väldigt uppskattat och vi fick mycket mat samt frukt! Skulle rekommendera att bo här natten innan safari! Det var smidigt. Vi hade också en otroligt fin solnedgång 🌅 - inte så bra AC. Rummet var dock stort och högt i tak, så kan vara pga det. Men vi hade inställt på 16 grader från incheckning (runt 14) tills vi gick å la oss (23) och det var fortfarande inte alls svalt på rummet. - skållande hett vatten i duschen. Duschen hade varmvatten, men alldeles för hett - så vi fick båda duscha kallt. - restaurangen. Vi åt även middag på hotellet - överprisat och smakade ganska mediokert. Vi beställde en varsin chicken sandwich med pommes, men pommesen kom ca 15 minuter efter mackorna. Lite oklart.

- Sandra (8/5): Très très bon séjour, une adresse que je recommande ! - L’emplacement dans les rizières, au bord du lac de tissa, à 15 min à pied des restaurants et autres. La chambre est confortable avec une très belle vue même celle « vue sur piscine », l’eau est chaude (malgré une coupure d’eau en pleine douche lol), la décoration est sympa notamment le hall en plein air. À 10 min à pieds, il y a un endroit en bord de lac où nichent des centaines de chauve-souris, bref il y a de quoi occuper une soirée de balade. Le personnel est souriant et aimable. La chambre possède un petit balcon, et gros plus une terrasse commune vraiment bien aménagée où il fait bon vivre. Il y a aussi un billard sur cette terrasse ! Un gros plus pour la literie : le lit est tres confortable et loin des « planches en bois » souvent présents au SL. Rien de particulier, on notera tout de même que les prises et la lampe à côté du lit ne fonctionnaient pas, ce qui n’était pas des plus pratique. Très bruyant jusque 1 heure du matin mais l’hôtel n’y peut rien vu que ça venait d’une chambre au deuxième étage. Puis bruyant vers le milieu de matinée à cause de travaux 😆 mais de fait, rien de permanent ou dû à de la négligence .
- Jacobus (10/5): Een van de fijnste verblijven in ons reis van 3 maanden in Sri Lanka. - Wij vonden het zo heerlijk dat wij 6 nachten zijn gebleven en nu alweer heimwee hebben. Gaan er zeker terug als wij weer in Sri Lanka komen. De plek, het uitzicht, het hele gezellige hotel met de prachtige lounges. Heel mooi gestyled. Zeer ruime kamer en badkamer. En het personeel was super. Wij hebben nog contact. Helaas was de kok in het ziekenhuis dus er was tijdelijk geen ontbijt en diner. Maar die is inmiddels weer terug hoorde ik.

- Filippo (9/5): Struttura perfetta per una notte pre Safari. - Struttura molto accogliente e con piscina vista risaie. La mattina ci hanno preparato una colazione take away per partire presto per il Safari. Abbiamo avuto un problema per la troppa acqua calda in doccia ma sono stati subito disponibili nel risolvercelo. Essendo una struttura all’interno di risaie, fuori dalle stanze c’erano inevitabilmente tante zanzare.

Make sure you bring cash because they dont take card. Staff made sure we made our morning safari. Good place for a short stay, at a very affordable price.

- Joël (7/5): - Mooi aangelegd, middenin de rijstvelden. Nieuwe accommodatie en ziet er vrij luxe uit. Vriendelijke medewerkers. Fijne, gemeenschappelijke zitgedeelten met uitzicht! Ze zijn nog aan het bouwen, waardoor je wat geluidsoverlast ervaart. Het zwembad ziet er prachtig uit maar nodigt niet echt uit omdat er maar een stoel bij staat. Kamers waren vrij donker. Ontbijt was nog niet beschikbaar. Geen klamboe. En we troffen een gigantische spin aan in de badkamer.

The room was large and quite pleasant looking. There were cockroaches!! The hotel is in the middle of the rice field. Yes it looked stunning but the pay off was huge cockroaches. Staff came every time we saw one and sprayed, cleaned but there was always more. Also, the bathroom didn’t have any shower gel or shampoo. The room was made up nicely but the floor was dirty ☹️ would I stay here again - with roaches - no way!

Leider ist während unseres Aufenthalts die Küche renoviert worden, ohne dass es dazu vorab einen Hinweis gab. Daher mussten wir denn abends essen gehen bzw. liefern lassen. Leider gab es kein warmes Wasser: Das Hotel verfügt über eine Dachanlage - ist die leer, muss man mit dem Lauwarmen Wasser aus der Leitung zurechtkommen. War aber keine große Einschränkung.

- Wessel (5/5): Hotel met potentie, maar helaas - De locatie is top. Mooie plek vlak aan het meer en je kan met 3 minuten rijden in 2 verschillende dorpjes zijn aan beide kanten. De mensen zijn aardig en het uitzicht is mooi Het gebouw heeft veel potentie maar wordt helaas niet zo goed onderhouden. Douche had koud water en moest in je hand, anders zou de hele badkamer nat worden. Muren bladerde wat af en hierdoor schimmel en dekbed was niet mega schoon. Prachtig hotel van buiten maar van binnen wordt het helaas niet geweldig onderhouden. Voor de prijs is het het helaas niet waard

They were cutting the rice during our stay so we couldn’t use the pool as it was too dirty. It’s slightly out of town too so you need to get a Tuktuk to eat as the restaurant is under renovations. Don’t book the safari through them. It is overpriced and the driver was awful.

- Romain (9/5): Superbe cadre et bonne expérience globale. - Grandes chambres (triples). Emplacement idéal pour un safari à Yala (20-25 minutes pour s'y rendre). L'hôtel situé au milieu de rizières, c'est un très joli cadre. De plus au 2e etage, on peut faire le tour complet par le balcon, donc vue à 360° idéale pour de belles photos. La piscine est également agréable mais pourrait être mieux entretenue. Personnel attentif et accueillant. Comme nous arrivions un peu tard (vers 20h), on a échangé via whatsapp et ils ont envoyé le menu pour qu'on puisse commander et que ce soit prêt à notre arrivée Et en prime ils ont même offert une glace à nos filles ;-) Ils nous ont également arrangé le safari à Yala : depart à 5h du matin (jeep ponctuelle!), petits dej à emporter prêt à l'heure (tartines au fromage, bananes, petits jus de fruits, oeufs durs, saucisses). Le tout pour un prix attractif pour 4h de safari (hors prix des entrées au parc, qu'il faut acheter quand on arrive à l'entrée de celui-ci.) La piscine manque un peu d'entretien (quelques carrelages abîmés qui ont causé une petite éraflure à une de nos filles ; seulement 2 transats dont 1 cassé ; eau pas très propre). Mais vu le cadre, on passe facilement au-dessus. Nous avons dîné sur place et la cuisine n'est pas au point : 50 minutes pour préparer 4 plats très simples, pas très bien cuisinés, et dont un n'a finalement jamais été servi...

Die Lage ist beeindruckend, aber für alle Aktivitäten sind Fahrzeuge erforderlich. Der Pool war defekt, das war aber einer der Hauptgründe für das Buchen dieser Unterkunft. Die Zimmer sind sehr einfach. Die Dusche ist nicht vom übrigen Bad getrennt, wodurch alles nass wird beim Duschen.

From arranging personalized excursions to offering recommendations on local attractions, their hospitality truly made a difference. The on-site restaurant was another highlight, serving delicious meals made from fresh, local ingredients. I particularly enjoyed dining on the terrace, where I could soak in the panoramic views while savoring traditional Sri Lankan dishes. The breakfast spread was delightful, offering a variety of options that catered to all tastes. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring the nearby attractions, including Yala National Park, which is just a short drive away. The staff were more than happy to organize safaris and tours, making it easy to experience the rich wildlife and stunning landscapes of the area. Overall, my stay at Serene Park in Thissamaharama was an unforgettable experience. The combination of luxurious accommodations, exceptional service, and the breathtaking natural surroundings made it a perfect retreat. Talvolta capita, anche se si tratta di un breve soggiorno, di incontrare persone speciali, Thilanka e Chamindu sono davvero stati gentilissimi e la loro ospitalità è tra le migliori incontrate in tanti anni di viaggi. La proprietà dovrebbe pensare a dare una sistemazione alle parti comuni. È un peccato che un posto così bello, con un personale così speciale, venga un pochino lasciato andare.

- Ervina Erfie (8/5): A peaceful spot to unwind. - We stayed at Serene Park for one night as we wanted to visit Nala National Park, which is conveniently close to the safari. We absolutely loved our stay — it was so calming and, true to its name, serene. Surrounded by lush green paddy fields, the view was simply beautiful. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Since we didn’t explore anywhere else apart from the National Park, we had both dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was amazing — we especially loved the Nasi Goreng and the creamy chicken soup. Breakfast was a standard continental spread, simple but satisfying. Though the room was spacious and clean, the property could use a bit more tender loving care on the exterior. Some areas, like the ceiling at the communal hall on the 2nd floor, were peeling, and the roof had some old wooden parts. We went for a swim in the pool one windy morning, and one of the wooden pieces fell off — luckily, it didn’t hit us.

- Rieneke (9/5): Prachtige locatie met behulpzaam personeel en een mooie safari - Super mooie accommodatie en locatie. Jet zwembad was heerlijk en het personeel behulpzaam. Via het het hotel een safaritour geboekt was super was geregeld! De locatie was iets ver van de restaurants, maar via het hotel was er gemakkelijk een tuktuk te regelen die je voor 400 lkr bij een restaurantje bracht.
- Julie (10/5): Einzigartige Unterkunft - Die Aussicht auf die Reisfelder ist unglaublich und die Zimmer sind sehr sauber. Das Personal hat ausserdem eine Safari für uns organisiert, die top war! Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche könnte besser sein.

- Sashini (5/5): - Beautiful location and the staff was helpful. There were bugs and cockroaches in two rooms and no hot water in two rooms. The kitchen was under renovation so we had to go out to eat. ..but the staff was helpful to provide cutlery and crockery.
