Guest Reviews
- Nick (8/5): - Nothing special, a bit dated
- Keith (4/5): - I had reserved two night stay months in advance. Upon checking was advised I had to change room for second night due to adjacent joining room booking. Unsure as to how this transpired, was not a welcome first impression at this property. That said, first room carpet was well used with stains. Second room had a newer carpet. Both rooms had in suite laundry which would be helpful for longer stays.
- Michael (8/5): - The property is starting to show its age and needs things like carpets, beds and furniture changed. The housekeeping and front desk staff were wonderful- especially Sandeep one of the front desk agents. She was friendly, always had a smile and was masts willing to offer advice, provide directions and made suggestions. Hotels need more staff like her!

- Dennis (2/5): - This property is 4-kilos from the Yellowknife Airport. A hospital across the street as well as a grocery store and within a short walk to other shopping. But the facility does have some downfalls that need correcting. Walls are thin and you hear everything, really everything.
- Davis (4/5): - Paid $417 for 2 nights. It is be ry dirty. Lots of stains on the carpet, had to wear shoes right outta bed. Little splatters on every wall. Also they had a maintenance man banging on every door at 9 in the morning
- thomas (6/5): - the rooms with adjoining doors need better sound barrier between them
- Yanguo (10/5): - Convenient and save.
- Kathryn (6/5): - Smoking near intake vents
- Daniel (8/5): - Close to shopping stores
- Cory (6/5): - Great staff, very friendly. The hotel feels run down. The carpets in the rooms were heavily stained, the light switches were filthy. Large rooms but windows did not open in bedroom and was very very hot.. great staff though.
- Bryanna (10/5): - Always on top of things n just wonderful place
- Megan (6/5): - Was dated and not the cleanest. Easy location for the airport.
- BENJAMIN (6/5): - Bed is good. Furniture are old and dirty. No AC.
- Anika (6/5): - Sweep the bathroom floors, so much hair.
- Hillary (6/5): - I didn’t like the moldy tea kettle that got my mom sick for a couple days out of our vacation. No room service daily. We had to ask for our own clean towels. I think that service needs to be looked into now that Covid isn’t rising.
- Sandra (8/5): - It was nice. It’s at a great location, near the hospital where I had an appointment.
There were only two luggage carts for the whole hotel. They should get more.
- Lorilie (8/5): - Good
- Jasna (8/5): - Great location even though it’s far from the centre everything I needed was close by AND the Room was very nice
- Gregory (6/5): - Noisy, no AC, fortunately it was cooler outside so the room wasn’t a scorcher.. good location, plenty of parking
- Bobby (8/5): - Establishment is an excellent place to stay. On our return we plan to stay there again.
- Bobby (8/5): - Hotel is quiet, clean, close to businesses, accessible, and good staff
- Bobby (10/5): - Hotel is quiet, staff friendly, clean and close to shopping
- Makarand (8/5): - Proximity to many restaurants, Grocery shop and Departmental store
- Narendra Narayan (6/5): - We didn’t know that there was construction going on in the hotel. There was a lot of noise during the day because of that. Also, the sound from the neighbouring room was quite clearly audible.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rooms were available to upgrade to upon checkin so I was happy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was in a good location for shopping. It was also very quiet and secure.
- Bk (8/5): - Front desk staff was excellent. However the fridge wasn't very clean and there wasn't enough cutlery in the suite. Over was great. I loved how the hotel pays for your can to and from the airport
- Kathy (6/5): - Housekeeping didn’t clean room and there was pet hairs and found a bug on the kitchen counter and on rug
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome
- James (10/5): - Close to hospital and other services. Staff was helpful with special requests.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staying here for a week with my wife. Fully kitchen accessories and supermark is just 3 minutes walk, we were enjoying cooking everyday. There are also full laurndy (washer and dryer) in. room, feel like we are staying in our own property. have full of good memory there.
- Lynda (10/5): - They were very accommodating and friendly
- Michelle (6/5): - Good location hotel just needs to be updated. Carpets and couch very worn. Kitchen could use a few more basics like a salad bowl. We had 2 small problems which were both fixed promptly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Full size kitchen in reserved suite: roomy. Appreciated the in-suite laundry equipment. Comfortable quarters.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice and convenient to have a kitchen. The GM is very helpful.
- Desmond (10/5): Great location - Just as you would expect, nice, friendly and clean, will be back soon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - was as advertised
close to hospital
and everything else Yellowknife has to offer
- z (4/5): - The lady who helped us to check in was not very nice at all. I think her name is Michelle. She messed up our check in information, as she said we only book for 1 night, but we actually booked for 3 nights . We asked her that was there any other room available except the first floor. She was not friendly and not willing to check. After a few minutes the lady was off (at 4:00pm), her co-workers were helpful and figured the mistake. There was other rooms available.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - House keepers forgot to give me clean towels after two days and no coffee with coffee mate and the room temperature was way to hot. everything else I liked my stay nice room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was very clean but it had this strong perfume (carpet fresh) smell that lasted a day an a half which gave me headaches. It started to fade the following evening. Conveniently located near hospital and shopping centers.
- Goldie (10/5): - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will certainly be using your hotel on our next stay in Yellowknife.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Thanks I had a good rest - Cheap pop in pop machine. Close to Walmart. Close to hospital if you have a emergency. Front desk staff were friendly. Easy and quick check in . Strange part was when I caught the security guard sniffing between the crack of my door.
- Kate (4/5): - Staff are good. Good taxi service. Not very clean and no place to eat
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stained sheets. Not clean. No refill for shampoo. Friendly staff though.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The people next door and upstairs were very noisy. Almost tripped on rug going to room. Too many lumps in the carpet.
- Rohan (10/5): - Fast and friendly check in. Comfortable room. Good proximity to shopping.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Give me the room in the lobby, right next to the elevator.
Basically just too much noise and waste of money staying there.
- Kevin (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at your hotel! Thank you very much! We got engaged there!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staffing was ok, Kind house keeper, WiFi connection and deck top available.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The rooms was nice and the building itself looks nice as well. The biggest problem is how this facility was built. It is noisy!! There are no seals on any of the doors or proper insulation in walls and ceilings. I was across for the elevators and could here every conversation every time someone got on or off. the worst is that most of the noise is between 2am and 4am when groups of drunk people come back from the bar. There was an adjoining room to mine. Two doors to open up to make the two rooms as one. No seals on these doors either. I could see the light from the other room enter my room from under the doors. I could also here the conversation between the couple as well as every time their baby woke up in the middle of the night. Upstairs there were kids running back and forth until 11pm every night. Needless to say I did not sleep. If you can sleep through the constant noise, and the fact that everyone can hear you as well, then this is fine for the price I guess. It will be the last time I book here unless I have absolutely no choice!!!
- Tina (10/5): Sleepy time - Our stay was awesome despite of the medical wait at the hospital my sleep was so so good omg and the room was sweet huge but perfect... you gotta stay here, have a wonderful day
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Spacious but plain and basic. Good bed and bedroom but poor livingroom and dirty/stained carpets and old rough couch. Bonus it had a washer and drier as i was in the middle of 2 trips. Worst part was thermostat didnt work and turning down did nothing so constantly pumped out heat and too hot to sleep.
- Nlk (8/5): - Was noisy but had great service. Also great location.
- Red Rock (6/5): Thin walls - I stayed in this hotel for over one week due to a delayed flight.
The location is in-between town and the airport. Easy access to food stores and restaurant within walking distanse. However, since this is such a small town, I would rather have stayed down-town. No need to be close to the airport as there is no rush traffic.
My water boiler was borken - got a new one
The walls are very very thin. In fact they will break if you even bump into them, thus the sounds carries through the walls. This made it a bit hard to have online business meetings.
Staff are nice and friendly.
Rooms is a bit warn looking, but clean and comfortable beds
The apartment option has both a washing machine and a drying machine.
Hairdryer in the room
Large kitchen area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Attend to our needs very efficiently.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable bed, free taxi to airport - Spacious room with comfortable bed. In the room washer/dryer and equipped kitchen makes it convenient. Supermarket located just opposite the hotel. Free taxi using voucher to airport is a bonus.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Walls so thin a noisy group of women chatting next door kept us awake
- Gerard (8/5): - Saff were friendly the room was nice a clean nice place to stay be great place to stay if you had to be in the city for some time has all the comfort of home
- Sheldon (10/5): Excellent Stay! - You get a 1-bedroom apartment basically, with full kitchen, washer/dryer combo, separate living room with TV and bedroom with TV. Nicely sized room overall, with excellent selection of TV channels and comfortable bed. Was provided a taxi voucher back to airport! Carpet showed signs of wear, with things spilled on it over the years. Overall, excellent stay!
- Debby (8/5): - Staff are nice. room is clean. only I cann‘t get the top floor room to watch aurora (roof view).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - close to restaurant, food market, Wal-Mart and bus stops, about 30 mins.
walk to city center.
- KERBE B (8/5): Restful - Enjoyed our 3 nights though the Northern Lights didn't cooperate for us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well located about half way between airport and downtown. we found it close to a small shopping district including Walmart, Tim Hortons, gas station and bars as well as a liquor store. The hotel has no restaurant, however there are places to eat in several locations close by.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room we were assigned had a dish washer full of dirty dishes when we arrived and no dish washer soap. The carpet has spill spots on and needs a shampooing. Overall, not impressed.
- Jessica (10/5): Central and comfortable stay in Yellowknife - One of the staff members, Erin, was very helpful and gave us some great tips on things to do and see in the area. It was a bit confusing finding the hotel because there is no sign. There is a grocery store right next to the hotel which is super convenient.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Upon checkin we were given a standard room but I had reserved a one bedroom /kitchen suite. We moved to a one bedroom kitchen the next day but did not receive the correct credit because I booked on line with Expedia.
- Dee (6/5): - We would have appreciated our room being cleaned on the second day of our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to the main stores I needed to go to, nice quiet area
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Yyyþyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyygggggggggyg
- Peter (10/5): Loved it - Right on
- Gail (10/5): - Overnight stop to start travel the next day to the east coast!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a surprise, I felt I was in large suites and the staff was excellent. I would highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is very close to the hospital very good location to grocery store
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I always love to book my hotel at Stanton Suites. Just the WIFI was slow, other then that i loved my stay! Great staff also
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Daytime weekend Reception lacked knowledge and understanding. Evening Reception was super-helpful, gave good advice and recommendations - and overall great service. The property is a about 1/2 hour walk from downtown and, since we had relatively warm whether, it was enjoyable. It would probably be more inconvenient in harsher weather. Overall, a very pleasant experience - especially since we had ideal Aurora Borealis and great snowshoe tour conditions.
- Randy (6/5): - Room temperature hard to control
- Karen (8/5): - This hotel is in a good location, 5 minutes to the airport and 5 minutes to downtown. The rooms are spacious and in good shape. We would recommend this hotel to others.
- D&CM (8/5): - This is a great location near walking distance of McDonald's, Quiznos, Tim Horton's, and a grocery store if you prefer not to eat out all the time and want snacks for the hotel room. The staff were wonderful and allowed us to check-out at 4PM since our flight didn't leave until 8PM so we didn't have to sit at the airport for hours on end. I love the conservation effort by providing recycling bins in the room which is unlike many hotels I've visited. The rooms were comfortable and warm, which I was worried about since it is so cold outside.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Family stay - It was amazing, clean place nice view, happy with location there was the hospital and independent store right near us sometimes too easily to hear people next door though
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location. Close to supermarkets, liquor store.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - They don't do the cleaning every day, checked with hotel reception, they gave us reasons either all cleaners gone already or they don't have enough cleaner to do the cleaning, the worst thing is when the cleaner come cleaning the suite, they only through away the garbage, not even fix the bed and cleaning the toilet
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good place to stay with small issues - Stanton Suites is a good place to stay that is close to nearby food and grocery stores. The room was clean and fit our needs well. Our only issues were that the walls creaked throughout the night and the in-room heater did not really work so the room was very cold. The creaking kept us up a little at night but it was not unbearable with ear plugs in. Aside from that, we had a good stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice location. The room had the odour of previous people’s cooking, kinda nasty.
It was quiet, staff was great
- Rui (10/5): Great place to stay, recomended. - Great location, away from downtown, but super convenience. Walmart, Independent Store, Tim Hortons, McDonald, etc. all around. A little bit noisy as wall is really thin. Wifi is a little bit not stable in the first two days. I gave a call to the IT support provided and all resolved pretty quick.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s a good location and convenience for living. Xxxxxxxxxcxxccccccccxcxcccccvvvvvhhhhkj
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Noise hotel, in all hours of the night, only two floors for guests, third floor are rental student suites.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - all good but gym small, the only one treadmill out of order
- DON (10/5): - IT WAS CLOSE TO THE HOSPITAL THAT I WAS VISITING. THE ROOM WAS SPACIOUS AND FULL AMMENITIES.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - too noisy, people upstairs, and beside you and working vehicles outside. Worth checking into another hotel like Chateau Nova.
- Jessie (8/5): Last minute hotel - We were a last minute reservation. Check in was quick and efficient. Room #1 was cozy and warm. Room #2 was spacious, but chilly, understandable when its -20 out! We had to extend our stay and were able to stay in our original rooms.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location and cab shuttle voucher was quicker than a hotel shuttle
- Sonya (10/5): - Even though I'm only there overnight, it's my second stay (and there are more to come). The rooms are huge, beds are so comfortable, very clean, and the check in/out process is quick.
- Brian (6/5): - Pretty decent hotel, good water pressure, but some weird sweet smell in the 2nd floor lobby and the beds were overly soft.
- Muddy (6/5): - Ok but need bigger beds and better pillows other then down pillows
- STH (8/5): - The hotel is outside of downtown core, but it's a convenient location with restaurants, grocery stores and shops all within walking distance. It also has trails around a lake literally at its backyard.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Balcony with far, unblocked view. Full kitchen well equipped. Bedroom with a door. Sofa, recliner, laundry room. Simply home away from home.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Check in staff looked like she was crying and upset. Check out staff just looked miserable. Very unfriendly staff. Rude customer service.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very noise place. In particular on Saturday night, At 1:00 AM we called the reception to complain about a couple that were yelling/crying next door; at 2:00 AM same situation and I nocked at the door to ask them to lower the volume and finally at 4:00 AM they start fighting and I asked reception to call the Police. Reception staff should have called the police at 1 am and not let the situation lingering all night long.
- Gary (6/5): OK Hotel in Yellowknife - Nice hotel for Yellowknife as a good base to get around. However hotel condition leaves much to be desired and cleanliness is questionable (e.g. insect found in the toilet)
