colleen (9/5): Wonderful spacious room overlooking the Bay! - We stayed at the Wyndham prior to our Ha Long Bay tour which left early in the morning. Our room was fantastic with views of the bay and the bridge! It was a huge room with very large bathroom and very comfortable beds. There are a few close by coffee shops which were an easy walk.

Free upgrade to 20th floor with a bay view exceeded all expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, it’s wonderful.

Therefore the location was not so important to us, however the view from the hotel and rooms of the bay were very beautiful. Pros Large sized bedroom facing the bay on the 17th floor. Very comfortable bed, large bathtub and shower. Friendly staff Very good breakfast selection for westerners Cons Swimming pool had no towels When swimming in the morning the maintenance team showed up, clearly wanting to chlorinate the pool, even though the opening hrs for customers to use it had commenced. After loitering for 10mins they then proceeded to start setting up to clean even though I requested they waited 10mins for me to finish. Thar results was ignored and they started putting the tubes into the pool to commence cleaning meaning I had no choice but to abandon my swim. Seeing how frustrated I was with this, the staff then pointed to the 2nd pool, which has a graduated incline with steps going down therefore you can not swim full lengths like you can in the upper pool. This was very poor customer service by the staff who really should have maintenance cleaning scheduled in before the pool is open to customers to avoid this

La verdad la habitación excelente. El personal es súper amable, muy atento, realmente un agrado. Excelente ubicación. El desayuno definitivamente está muy orientado al público de Asia, muy pocas opciones occidentales, no cambia el menú por lo que todos los días terminé comiendo pan con huevo, café y yogurth. Para ser un hotel 5 estrellas, muy por debajo de lo que esperaba. El gym no está climatizado, por lo que entrenar con humedad es súper incómodo. Es básico pero cumple. El botellón de agua lo encontré vacío, eso sí, tuve que cambiarlo yo solo al ver otro de repuesto cerca. En la pieza te dejan 1 litro de agua diario por persona, lo cual claramente es insuficiente bajo cualquier recomendación nutricional, el agua no es potable y si pides más agua, te la cobran aparte. Claramente falta un dispensador de agua en algún lugar, como un pasillo, para que sea fácil hidratarse. No puede ser así en un hotel 5 estrellas.

586saschae (8/5): We came here already, came back and will come back again. - Excellent located. Staff is very friendly. The outside pool area is large on 2 levels but a bit „steril“ (maybe due to less guests while we have been there mid of August). Price is on upper level. View is great next to the bridge which is a sensation by night.

trangnF9030DW (10/5): MEMORABLE STAY - I stayed at WYNHAM LEDGEND HOTEL for 1 night during my business trip and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet, with a comfortable bed and all the basic amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay especially Ms Hằng from Sales Team - super support during my stay. Hotel View face to Bai Chay bridge and Sun World Cable car. Breakfast was simple but fresh, with a mix of local and Western options. Wi-Fi was stable and fast enough for work. Overall, it was good value for money. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to the area.

Mahmoud (7/5): It’s decent, but I wouldn’t rate it higher than 3.5 - 4 stars - The hotel’s location is excellent, close to the city’s main facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful, just like the Vietnamese people in general — always warm and welcoming to guests. The view was stunning, and the overall services were good. The hotel is old, and so is the furniture — to the point that parts of the bathroom had yellowed from age. It’s definitely time for a renovation, dear hotel management. The breakfast lacked items that would appeal to guests coming from outside Asia. Also, placing a note on the guest’s table stating that they will be charged for any missing or damaged items from the room feels out of place in a high-quality hotel. The absence of informational brochures or guides outlining the country’s tourist attractions and safety guidelines is a noticeable shortcoming.

Claire (6/5): Definitely not a five star hotel. - Comfortable large bed and nice views across the bay from one of our rooms. This is advertised as a five star hotel, but it's far from it. A few things that I would highlight: - one of our rooms looked over a derelict building - the rooms have dark wood doors and furniture- there were hand/fingerprints all over them, so although the room and bathroom looked clean, the woodwork really needed a deep clean - our room had a damp smell - we had a Balcony, but no patio furniture to use on the balcony - the glass panel on the balcony was wobbly and clearly poorly fitted - the pool has been finished to a poor standard with tiles coming lose and looked poorly maintained. Getting a drink around the pool took a really long time as next to no staff. - we chose the hotel because of what the gym looked like, but in reality it was poorly fitted out and there wasn't any air conditioning so our son couldn't use it - the location of the hotel wasn't great....the area around it is run down with broken patios and absolutely nothing in walking distance. There wasn't even a supermarket close by or any restaurants that you would want to eat in.

Akis (10/5): Unique and memorable experience at one of the best 5 star hotels of Halong - It was our first experience in 5 Star hotel. I was impressed from receptionists and especially from their kindness, smile, desire to explain with details the provided services for my booked room. Room and bathroom was clean, they were charging everyday our towels and sheets, had the best view in front of the Halong Bay, comfortable and enough space in room and bathroom. The 2 water pools had a significant view of Halong. Generally it was a unique experience for us. When i ll be back i ll definitely book again a room in Wyndham Legend Halong hotel.

Holly (3/5): Terrible don’t stay here - read the bad reviews they are correct don’t believe the overall rating - I feel bad writing this review because the staff were so nice, they really did try hard to make things better but I’m afraid w everything you read on the bad reviews is correct, we can’t believe we missed it, we went off the overall scores. Make sure you avoid staying here on weekends, this is when they make their money but selling out to massive corporate events so there’s no where to eat of an evening and it is really loud, we stayed in one of the water bungalows, and whilst nice they are essentially built like tents so you hear everything and we couldn’t even hear each other speak it was so loud. So it’s like a hotel that was once really grand but ran out of money. From the moment you arrive into reception it’s dirty, toilets overflowing dirty cups and glasses everywhere. We booked it for the gym, no air con no towels or water, rubbish everywhere looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, equipment tatty and broken. Breakfast really basic no decent coffee or even tea options, the kind of breakfast you might get in a 3* max. We ate dinner once and it was terrible, tasteless swimming in oil, grisly meat. We didn’t pay for the dinner. Went up to the roof top bar thought we would have a glass of wine. No, only cocktails, if you want wine you have to go to the cafe, it isn’t served in restaurant either. Se went to cafe, a few dusty bottles on the shelves that didn’t match the menu. The staff member couldn’t sell us the one we wanted because she couldn’t find a price for it. Again all public area toilets really dirty, bins overflowing. Didn’t use the pool as it was overtaken with this corporate function. It was just a very disappointing stay. The problem is it is rated 5*, if it were 3* (which is what it is) your expectations would be managed and things like breakfast would be ok. What is never ok is the lack of cleanliness and general care of the property. And they really should be taking bookings from couples looking for a relaxing stay on a weekend when they know it’s all about corporate functions and they can’t provide you a service. We’ve been travelling in SE Asia for 5 months, we’ve stayed in jungle camps, Hmong home stays and some very basic options but this is by far our most disappointing stay.

We felt disgusted and as a result weren’t comfortable and felt the room dirty. We arrived at 11 pm tired and were leaving the next morning on a cruise so we did not make a fuss. Also, you can hear everything, from the neighbours, the water pipes to the cruising boats’ horns. Sleeping in this hotel was a nightmare. If you are thinking of spending the night there on your way to a cruise. Avoid

Indi (1/5): Would never return to Ha Long Bay - Spacious room This is probably the worst place I have ever stayed. False advertisement on what they have at the hotel. The spa is non operational, the casino is completely shut down, they only have 1 of the 3 restaurants opened and they take over an hour to serve your food even if there are minimal other guests. There is no pool bar like it advertised and both of the pools are overrun by children. Unsure how this is considered a 5 star hotel.
