There was so much to do, but I was happy just to sit by the lake and admire the views and the beautiful ambience. The rooms were stunning, the view was to die for and food was superb. I loved it.

The waitstaff in the dining room were so warm and welcoming. We found the dining options to be very tasty and of high quality. Our Villa room opened up to the lake and the volcano….and the weather was great! What more can I say? Don’t hesitate to visit !

Sehr stylische Zimmer mit herrlichem Blick auf den Vulkan Osorno und den See (wir waren im 4. Stock). Sehr gutes Restaurant für Frühstück und Abendessen. Leider kann man die Tische nicht reservieren, sondern first come - first served. Die schönsten Tische ganz vorne sind schnell weg und man muss kämpfen einen solchen zu bekommen auch wenn er frei wird (wir hatten den Eindruck Gäste aus Chile werden bevorzugt )-: Frühstück reichhaltig mit viel Auswahl, exzellentem frischen Obst (Erdbeeren, Heidelbeeren, etc.). Es wäre schön, bestimmte Tische für das Abendessen für eine bestimmte Zeit fest reservieren zu können.

The hotel has unique architecture, rooms are amazing (small details like wood burning fireplace, Haram Kardon portable speaker, rustic yet functional decor made it like home), views from windows are spectacular. Most of all the staff is extremely attentive and go out of the way to help and make your stay more enjoyable - loved every aspect of our stay and highly recommend this hotel!

Great range of excursions and helpful tour guide. Good reflexology massage. The spa facilities should have been fantastic but slightly missed the mark - no steam in steam room, no heat in sauna and no bubbles in the jacuzzi.

- JudiH175 (10/5): A warm welcome, stunning setting and wonderful place to stay - We stayed at hotel Awa for three nights as part of our trip around Chile in October 2025. From the moment we arrived, we absolutely loved the place - the team was very warm and welcoming and the hotel itself is stunning. It's furnished in a stylish yet homely way and you can see the love poured into it by the owners and the fact that it's independent - no generic hotel furnishings here! Everything about it was wonderful - the room is spacious and comfortable, the bar area cosy and like being in your own sitting room (except that our sitting room doesn't look out onto the most beautiful lake and view of a spectacular volcano!), the perfect place to cosy up by the fire and enjoy a delicious cocktail made by Cristian and his team. From a gastronomic point of view all the food we had was delicious; we were lucky enough to be at the hotel for one of their monthly special dining events which was absolutely mind-blowing. I've been for sure enough to visit a lot of quality hotels over the years and this was one of my favourites. I'd have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who wants to come explore the Chilean lakes and Northern Patagonia.

- William (8/5): Great view weather permitting. - The view from the guest rooms is stunning, provided the Osorno volcano is visible. There is also a lot of avian activity to observe. I was on the upper most floor. It took a long time for the shower to run hot. A lot of water is wasted until the shower is hot enough to be comfortable. Also, I only saw one elevator, which was shared by guests and housekeeping staff. The stairs are an alternative when the elevator is busy, but if a room is on the top floor, it is a long climb from the restaurant. The second floor might be the sweet spot. While the furniture in the room looked beautiful, none of the seating was comfortable. I was able to use a couple of cushions to sit on a chair (very low) and enjoy the breathtaking view and all the birds.

Unfortunately, it rained the whole time we were there so we could only see the base of the volcano but we nevertheless loved the view across the lake. The service was great and we would not hesitate to stay there again.
- MariHermoza (10/5): Awa in Puerto Varas - Awa is a place to reconnect with yourself and with nature. The hotel itself has a wonderful location with an amazing view of the Osorno Volcano. The service is fantastic, the rooms are cozy, charming, they are just perfect to relax. The activities they offer are well organized, the guides know the area, and the views that every activity offer are so well selected. Every place you go gives you the perfect scenario.

The stand out was the staff especially Florencia and Nicolas but really also everyone we encountered. The hotel architecture is interesting - the basic structure which you can see being cleverly complimented by interior design. Each room has a lake view which is spectacular. The food is also excellent with great views from the dining area. Outside seating area also v nice. Two possible improvements: stronger wifi and fly screens on the opening doors/windows in the room as flies/mosquitos can and do come in - although the ac is v good. Overall however excellent and well managed.

Los desayunos riquísimos, al igual que el Restaurante y la piscina climatizada. Más que señalar que no gustó, es una recomendación de llegar en vehículo propio o arrendar uno para conocer más de la Región de los Lagos. Ahora igual señalar que igual el hotel tiene tours y excursiones con todo incluido.

- Michael (10/5): Fantastic setting and staff - Attentive friendly staff, beautiful setting. Huge, well appointed rooms. The excursions made our stay, Alan was fantasticly knowledgeable and made us at home. Good breakfast, lovely pool. Decent food on site but also within 20 mins drive of town if you fancy something else. All in all, nothing. Its everything you could ask for in a resort hotel. If being critical, the outside pier area seemed a bit neglected considering the number of staff to go down and tidy (fire pits dirty, cobwebs) but everything else was spotless and we would love to return.
- Matthew (9/5): Peaceful, idyllic and restorative hotel with friendly staff - Located in a very tranquil and scenic setting, just over an hour from Puerto Montt airport. Lovely to be based on the water’s edge. The architecture is cool. Beautiful views from the rooms. Service was exceptional and very attentive and friendly. The spa was closed during our stay, but the hotel organised a free trip to thermal baths including lunch for us. Our driver was very friendly. Our room featured a jacuzzi bath which was good. Food was delicious, we were on half board and the breakfast and dinners were excellent. Excursions to self guided hikes nearby were easy. Shop was a nice surprise. Huge comfy bed. Very kind about our babymoon. They didn’t inform us until close to our arrival that their annual maintenance was scheduled during our stay (May). The spa was closed throughout our stay (they did make up for it though), and there was some noise during the day into the early evening for room refurbishments. WiFi coverage and speed was not that amazing in some rooms. We changed rooms and it improved. Bedrooms in need of some maintenance (which was ongoing) - stiff doors, plumbing fixtures loose.

- Pioneer21295666420 (10/5): Superb boutique hotel - highly recommend - A superb boutique hotel situated on the lakeside with stunning view of the volcano. It is well positioned for access to the Volcano and others attractions in the area. The bustling town of Puerto Varas with plenty of shops and restaurants is easily accessible (you will need a car or taxi to get there) but you don't need to as the hotel has a very good restaurant and bar. The staff are extremely polite and helpful with good English language ability for those of us who struggle with Spanish. Room (space/bathroom/bed/fittings) was excellent. We had a 3 night stay and to be honest we really didn't want to leave. Well done AWA. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

It is a perfect location for exploring The Lakes, close enough to PM and far enough away to be peaceful. The hotel arranged a day's fishing for us and a local guide took us on the Desolation Pass walk - which was excellent.

- Visimom (10/5): An idyllic stay on Lake Llanquihue - What a great experience at Hotel Awa! The room was fabulous. The service was amazing! And the food in the restaurant, wow! The bread was some of the best I've ever had. I've never stayed in a small hotel that had such a nice swimming pool, and the indoor hot tub was also good. There is a small swimming area on the lake, but the water was very cold, even in the summer, and the beach is rocky, so not too practical without water shoes. We woke up every morning and ate every meal with a view of Osorno volcano and the many birds that flew around the hotel. Perfectly quiet at night for sleeping, and probably the best bed I have ever slept in. An idyllic experience, I would love to go back!

The shared spaces were very thoughtfully decorated. We didn’t do the all inclusive package but did dine at the on site restaurant for breakfast and for dinner one night. We enjoyed the food and thought the restaurant service was great. We loved the design of the building and enjoyed the beautiful landscaping. I would highly recommend the Llanquihue massage… it was incredible! We can’t thank Matias enough for his help with our rental car situation. We would stay here again! Nothing.

- Christopher (10/5): Faultless - Difficult to know where to start. The design is amazing, which is no surprise as the owners are architects and interior designers. You can see that influence very clearly. The room was amazing - the layout was perfect and the views are unbelievable. Showering in the massive rain shower whilst looking at Osorno Volcano was special. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and clearly loved working there which is a always a good sign. You felt that they really cared. They have many activities on offer with excellent expert guides employed by the hotel. The restaurant is also excellent - breakfast and dinner was top class. The spa was fantastic - treatments were very reasonably priced but top class and the facilities were quality. Just all round faultless, really. We didn't want to leave. Can't think of anything.

There were a few things that were not functional (the blinds) that needed to be fixed. Otherwise, the half board option was appropriate (same menu all the time for breakfast, lunch and dinner). We also had massages which were good. I’d recommend to others.

Great base if you like walking Some of the restaurant staff lacked training, confidence and supervision. When we had an issue it was avoided to the point we needed to escalate (manager was great but shouldn’t have needed to escalate). This was only a problem on one night the other two it ran well.

Great service and the hikes we did were really good. I booked the all inclusief and it was worth it. Really a top hotel. The service was great, so friendly; so helpfully. The size of the hotel was good. Nice restaurant, the packed lunches were great. I will come back for sure. And do again the all inclusive, if you do not book it for the room do it then for the excursions. They are all trailer made and I did travel by my self and that was not an issue. I had already some national parks in my to do list but I was not able to find hikes there and the first talk I head with the excursion organizer was about a hike in the national park which I wanted to do for years. My day was with that start so good and stayed for the whole period I was there.

- 665DavidG (10/5): Awesome Awa - This hotel sits right on the edge of the lakeside with views across to a volcano, makes best use of views with floor to ceiling glass windows. Excellent hotel with good restaurant and friendly staff. Very comfortable room looking out over the water. Hotel on lakeside road about thirty minutes from Puerto Varas, we took the local bus into town as it stops outside hotel, only 500 pesos each way per, person, worth a visit. Used the pool once, bit on the cold side! Can book trips and activities from the hotel if required as there is a travel desk. Nice hotel for relaxing stay out on it’s own.
- MJnC (10/5): Fantastic hotel to relax and tour - We had a superb time at Hotel Awa… had originally booked for 4 nights but extended to 5 (reducing a day in Santiago) not long after checking in as we loved the place. Beautiful setting on the lake with views of the volcano, fantastic bedrooms and bathrooms… just our style. Restaurant was lovely and food excellent so we just ate at the hotel or on tours. Awa have an excellent excursion service with loads of options. We were in the height of their winter but there were loads of options. We did one trip to the local national park followed by a boat trip on a lake, which we loved. We also did a second trip to the hot springs, which was fantastic. The trip there was about 2 hours but gave a good tour of the region and the hot springs are well worth a visit. Going with hotel tours were really good to have experts taking you around, got a lot of info and history and well setup and run with great friendly guides. All of the staff at the hotel were lovely and helped make our stay amazing. Was a great visit in low season and mixed between relaxing in hotel and trips… perfect. One traveller tip: Need to run hot water for a bit before it fully kicks in and can switch modes easily in showers etc. think due to local water distribution approach but works great once going.
