Guest Reviews
- Gen (10/5): - Hollister is wonderful in all ways.
- Russell (10/5): - Great restaurant at the hotel.
- Gen (10/5): - Best place for singles coming to shows in Branson to stay overnight. Immaculately clean.
- Robert (10/5): - This is a lovely inn. My wife and I really enjoy it. We'll definitely stay again. The staff was really helpful and pleasant.
- Jay (10/5): - A very quaint, unique hotel in a great area to spend an evening in.
- Gen (10/5): - I won't stay anywhere else when I come to Branson.
- Danielle (10/5): - pretty cool historical hotel the staff was very friendly and easy to check in
- Brenda (8/5): - The property is unlike any other I have stayed in. The room had a very clean bathroom and furnishings but the carpet was slightly stained.
- Amy (10/5): - Cozy and clean. Love the “old inn” style.
- Kendall (10/5): - Loved this Inn! Very well kept, lots of history and amazing staff!
- Janet (8/5): - Great location
- Christina (10/5): Don’t miss out on this treasure!! - We had a wonderful time in this beautiful historic inn. If you want something off the beaten path, a little quirky and unique, this is the place! It’s like stepping back in time. You won’t find loads of amenities, the beds are firm, the rooms are small. But the atmosphere is amazing, the service is exceptionally personal and it’s just a great place to enjoy.
- Terri (10/5): - Everything was excellent,staff was awesome
- Elliott (8/5): - Clean
Stairs no elevator
- Janet (8/5): Quaint, historic hotel in an excellent location - We were visiting relatives in the area and wanted to be CLOSE to Branson without being IN Branson. The Inn is very conveniently located close to Branson Landing --- only minutes away. We felt very safe in the area of the Inn. This is a very well-maintained historic hotel with lots of character but lacks some of the conveniences we have come to expect in a hotel room -- like lots of electrical outlets and USB ports. We could not control the temperature in our room. The TV service was streaming services provided thru ROKU (No cable or satellite.) The Inn did offer adequate wi-fi service. There is no elevator to the second floor where the rooms are located (it is a historic building) but we were offered help getting our luggage to our room. (Declined) The restaurant, The Pour House on the main floor, has good food and drinks, and appears to be a local favorite. It was always busy during our 3-night stay. The bed was too firm and not to our liking. The bathroom was nice size, but I think we had one of the largest rooms. The continental breakfast included weak coffee, fruit, water, and pre-packaged pastries --- not to our liking. We stayed at Ye Old English Inn because of the location and the experience of staying in a historic hotel. Would we stay there again --- probably.
- Richard (10/5): - Definitely old English style accommodation.
- Larry (10/5): - Perfectly unique hotel.
- Jeff (10/5): - Fun place to stay. Great customer service
- Angela (10/5): - This is a hidden gem that needs to be experienced. Like stepping back in time. Super clean and comfy. Staff was beyond accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
- Jason (10/5): - Great old and quaint hotel. It is maintained very well and the restaurant downstairs is great !
- Kathryn (10/5): - Fabulous olde English decor. Rooms nice and clean. Staff was great - especially John! Si nice to not be in the middle of the hustle & bustle of Branson.
- Keith (6/5): Quaint, historic, but small - If you are looking for a historic and quaint hotel, this one fits that. And the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. But the rooms are small. There’s no place to hang clothes and very little space with drawers for clothes so basically work out of your suitcase. We were in room 202 which is right above the dining room where they put large groups And you can hear everything from the dining room. Our toilet must’ve had a slow leak because every hour the tank would start filling itself again. The switch for the fan light, the off button for the fan would not work so you had to shut the whole thing off, but then you had no light. The view from our window Was a green metal roof. It is a quiet area and parking was never an issue
- Bridgett (10/5): - A very sweet and lovely English Inn. It's like you stepped back into time with this hidden treasure. The Inn Keeper ( I forgot his name) was very helpful and responsive and eager to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. . We ended up staying an extra day. Will only stay at the Inn the next time we are in Branson.
- Debbie (10/5): Finally got to stay here! - I enjoyed my time at YOEI.
I had been wanting to stay here for a long time but they had always been booked - when I needed them, until now.
The rooms are cute, clean, and comfy. The staff were kind. I also like the reading area on the 2nd floor.
I will definitely be back.
- Tamara (10/5): - We stayed for 1 night for a concert at Thunder Ridge. Hotel was very clean, comfortable beds. Standard rooms are on the small side but it was perfect for us. Staff was very friendly.
- Ronald (6/5): - Small rooms. No fridge or micro.
Roku tv.
- Robert (10/5): - Lived the room and dining
- Pat (8/5): A one night stay - The building is a historic landmark and is very well kept. The room was small but comfortable. It was very quiet and the staff were very accommodating.
- Russ (4/5): - Room was small, no counter space, no dresser, no control of air , only lights were by bed. Will not recommend this hotel
- Nicholas (10/5): Beautiful stay during Hozier concert - Our stay was so lovely! From the lobby to the rooms, everything was designed to make you feel you were in another part of the world, so charming! Staff were unbelievably kind. Me and my wife stayed during the Hozier rescheduled concert July 22. I called ahead to see if we would be able to check in early, due to Thunder Ridge Nature Arena's ongoing issues, and the staff worked with us to make sure we could check in at 11AM. Not only that, when we returned to the hotel after the concert, a staff member had free cold waters and pizza waiting for everyone. We also were able to eat some food before the concert at the Downing Street Pour House, which was absolutely incredible--I am still dreaming about those fries, perfectly seasoned and crunchy. We will definitely be back whenever we next return to Branson.
The only criticism I have is the room was a little warm, but to be fair our stay was during a heat advisory and 100 degree July weather.
- Paula (10/5): - Absolutely fabulous! Beautiful and staff was best of the best! I hated to leave - it was such a lovely place! Hope I can get back to Missouri again and stay here!
- Toni (6/5): - It was off the strip, yhe staff was great! Very private. No frills, on site restaurant, food was good. The parking was hard between 5-8 due to restaurant so popular, bed was comfortable.
- Haylie (10/5): - Loved staying in this place during our trip for the Hozier concert! The inside is so cute and themed, it isn't automated like newer hotels so it feel a lot more authentic! The staff was super kind and friendly! 10/10 Will be booking again in the future.
- Erica (10/5): - Great property. Would definitely stay again!
- Thomas (10/5): - The hotel is very simplistic. This is not a hotel to go to for luxury. This is more of an historic adventure. Great place to go for one or two nights. The staff was amazing, and the food is top notch.
- Brandi (10/5): - My husband and I booked this property for a romantic getaway. I was pleasantly surprised; the property is safe-providing a door code for the main door for after hours entry. It was so quiet; I felt like we were the only ones there. I was caught off guard at the size of the room; it is very small and compact, there is not a refrigerator, microwave or iron. None of those things would prevent me from staying again. We had the best time ever and look forward to booking again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value and character - This is a quirky, old, English-style inn on a charming street with shops and restaurants. The room is small but clean and has everything you would need. The price is great for the location. I don't think there is dedicated parking, but we had no issues finding a spot. The pub on the main floor is quite good and also has a lot of character.
- David (8/5): Great Small Hotel - This was a quiet and quaint hotel. We loved the charm and everyone was very nice and helpful. The pub next door was excellent as well. The location is near the Branson Landing but you don't have to fight all of the traffic to get to the Landing.
- timothy (10/5): - the unique architecture and history that was preserved in the decor was amazing. the staff was friendly and helpful. the attached restaurant has great food and a period backdrop for the historic inn.
- jeffery (10/5): - Everything was perfect. The Inn was incredible. The staff was very friendly and helpful, The attached restaurant was had great food for a fair price and a few doors down was a cigar lounge that was like stepping into cheers...
- Brad (10/5): - Amazing trip, will definitely be back. Food was incredible!
- Shari (10/5): - Staff are professional, curtious!!
- Diane (10/5): - The ambulance. Felt like an English establishment. The man at the desk volunteered to carry my suitcase upstairs.
- Dulci (10/5): - Very cozy, very neat. Staff was excellent.
- Belinda (10/5): - The property was nice and clean. The rooms are a little small but comfortable. The only issue we had was that the parking wasn't great
- Gen (10/5): - EVERYthing is wonderful. Would never stay anywhere else when in Branson for shows.
- NormanA438 (10/5): Delightful Stay - We stayed for two nights at Ye Olde English Inn in Hollister, Missouri April 22, 23, 2025. The Inn is located on Downing Street which features many quaint shops. The setting is quiet and relaxed, but only a short drive from the entertainment district of Branson, Missouri. The Pour House restaurant on the first floor serves up great drinks and fare.
Note, there is no elevator servicing the rooms which are located on the second floor and you do not have individual control of the air conditioning or heat in your room but the rooms are serviced by the system that serves the whole building and the temperatures are comfortable.
The desk attendant, John helped us get our bags up the stairs which was appreciated as we are in out 80’s. We had a delightful stay.
- Jesse (10/5): - Awesome
- lee (10/5): - Character and charm.
- Lonnie (10/5): Absolutely Amazing - Thought we would go off grid a bit when we chose Ye Old English Inn and what a wonderful experience.
We met the long time owner and her overnight manager and had pleasant conversations with both. I can’t count the times we were asked if there was anything they could do to make our stay better.
The property is older but unique and spotless. Rooms are quaint but very comfortable.
If you want something a bit different…you can’t go wrong.
- Jeff (6/5): - The rooms are extremely small but clean.
- Mary Beth (6/5): - We had no access to heat in our room. There were a lot of stairs. Outside the property was unkept and dirty.
- Claude W. (10/5): - Would like to have a box of Kleenix's in the room, would be very helpful. Service and personnel were top notch.
- Victoria (8/5): - We had never stayed in this area but loved it and the hotel!
- daniel (6/5): - Room was excessively small
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Train went by twice in around midnight. you will notice. Staff was great. does have the atmosphere of an old English Inn.
- Michael (6/5): Charming with great history, missed potential - It’s only fair to note this is a 100 year old inn, which explains the small rooms. The public areas were full of charm and well decorated. The Paddington room had a small but nice bathroom with a large shower, new Kohler toilet, sink, faucets and luxurious towels. …although there was someone else’s hair on the shower wall. The mattress was comfortable except the stained sheet with a hole was put on top of a hard plastic mattress protector that made a racket every time you rolled over. Upgrading the bedding to the same quality as the bathroom is needed. There should be a thick mattress pad between the sheet and the plastic mattress cover. Afternoon desk attendants are hard to find. We put the service tag on the door to request new towels - did not receive. This inn has so much potential that’s being missed and it wouldn’t take much money to capture it.
- Kelley (8/5): Charming - Such a convenient and charming place to stay. So very accommodating and friendly. Didn't have a chance to try out the restaurants but heard good things. Only drawback was finding there is not thermostat in the room. With changing weather it was hard to keep the room at a steady temperature. Would recommend!
- Whitney (10/5): - Cozy old building. Clean rooms. Nice staff.
- Yevette (10/5): - I can't say enough great things about this old beautiful well maintained hotel & their staff. I will definitely be staying here again.
- Marvin (10/5): - We have stayed at the Inn for almost 10 years around Christmas time. It has become a tradition we love. The old building has a lot of charm and character. Be prepared for a different experience. The bar and restaurant are good too.
- Victoria (10/5): - Excellent location, quiet, nice staff. 5 star
- Elaine (10/5): - The inn is small but very clean and cozy! We booked a suite and we absolutely adored it. It has a rich history and it is well preserved. The staff was very friendly, professional, and informative. Our bed was so comfortable and we were well rested. The restaurant that's attached has some absolutely amazing food is worth a visit if you're there.
- Michele (10/5): - The room was nice the atmosphere was great staff was friendly
- Gen (10/5): - I loved EVERYTHING!
- mary (2/5): - The facility is charming and perfectly located close toThe College of the Ozarks campus.
I found the staff to be poorly trained and lacking.
My compliant is, that after checking in and then having unloaded the luggage and kids from our vehicle we proceeded to our room only to be stopped and told that no children were allowed. My daughter and I had each made our own seperate reservations and niether of us saw any mention of thier no children allowed policy.
We had 45 minutes to get to a major event and we had to scramble to make other lodging arrangements.
- Thomas (10/5): - Wonderful service, clean and comfortable beds!
- Skip (10/5): - Love this property.
- Rhonda (10/5): Awesome experience - It was a cute place to stay. The room was small but for the two of us it was just fine. It was comfortable and clean. It was a very neat place to stay and a fun area to check out. I would definitely stay again for sure.
- Marc (4/5): - No coffee available when I Left property at 6:30 am. No staff at check-in or at checkout. Small rooms with thin walls and doors. Well worn rooms and rugs.
- 15mitzim (10/5): Better than expected! - Loved this place! Better than I even expected. Oozing with charm! We stay in historic old hotels every chance we get and this was definitely one of the better ones. Rooms are small but ours had plenty of room for us and our bags. Had a table and chair and small desk. And it was super clean! Bathroom was tiny, but oh so clean and bright. Towels were large and thick. Instant hot water. Comfy bed with several comfy pillows.
Hot coffee on our floor AND pastries and fruit for breakfast. Added bonus!
Ate in the restaurant for lunch and it was fabulous. Fish and chips were delicious.
- Linda (10/5): - Great place to stay Authentic Older environment lots to see. Highly recommend
- Ashley (8/5): - Gorgeous property. The whole building is beautiful inside and out. From our experience this place is more like a restaurant that happens to have a hotel in it than a hotel with a restaurant. The front desk was never staffed which luckily we didnt need anything after getting checked in.The room i came in prepared that it would be on the small side but if youre sharing a room with someone you're not used to get ready to be really close haha. While the restaurant was open it was very loud in the room but once they closed for the night the whole place was silent. There was an odd lingering scent in the hallway that was rather unpleasant but i never saw anyone to mention it to so we just ignored it. Overall the hotel is Gorgeous for $80 but if youre spending an extended amount of time in the hotel room you may want somewhere else. There is also a fantastic homeade icecream shop down the street that makes adult shakes and floats! They were absolutely fantastic.
- Mary (8/5): - Continental breakfast items were beyond expiration dates
- Tina (10/5): 100 Stars!! - This was the most charming English-style Inn I have ever stayed at. I used to travel to London and other parts of Europe quite a bit and never even found a place like this there. The room was so comfortable, with a cool temperature just as I prefer, and the bed was amazing. We intended to stay only one night but loved it so much we booked a second.
You can't go wrong with this gem of an Inn! OH, and the service and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in accommodating our late check-in. Their service is very personalized. There are also so many things to do right there by the Inn!!
- Steve (10/5): - Very Unique and full of charm.
We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, the staff and the area.
Will definitely stay again if we're down there.
- Richard (10/5): - The old English Inn was built by William Howard Johnson in 1912 and expand in 1927. We have stayed here five times over the years and just love it. And the food is excellent in pour house below. One of the best places to stay if heading to Branson landing at a third the price
- Stephen (6/5): - Its noisy till 11... you can hear people in parking lot. At 630 it sounds like a large racoon in the roof.
- Danna (10/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice and quiet even though above the restaurant. Very clean.
- Janis (10/5): - Loved history, good air-conditioning!
- Bette (10/5): - My friend and i were there for a reunion. The staff was very helpful. It was very clean and comfortable.
- Jr. (6/5): - No room fridge or coffee maker
- Aaron (8/5): - An old style hotel, more in line with the family hotels I have stayed at in Europe than a modern American chain hotel. Quaint and quirky. Rooms were small, but I wasn't there to sit in my room. A nice attached restaurant/pub and other dining options on the strip. Not a lot of modern amenities but overall a place with a lot of character.
- Jill (10/5): - Quaint English-style Inn. The room was small but comfortable. The attached restaurant was very good, and there are a couple of other good restaurants within short walking distance. There is no dedicated parking, but we didn't have trouble finding parking on the street.
- kenneth (8/5): - Very quiet
- Debra (8/5): - Charming little Inn with a great restaurant! Only issue was the bathroom sink would not drain. We reported it the first day but nothing was done. Would have liked to have been able to change rooms since we were there more than one night.
- Freddy (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, plenty of supplies in the bathroom and the bed was really comfortable. Yes, we would stay there again.
- Bradley (10/5): - .
- Larry Canby (10/5): - Staff was great!
- Stella (10/5): Amazing - Amazing absolutely amazing experience staying here.. manager lives in site and gave out his cell.phone so i would feel secure of any issues ..
- Tina (2/5): - This is a very old property , the room was extremely small, the bed was not even a full size..you could hardly get in the bed . You hade to walk side ways to get into the bed. We paid over 200.00 for one night . I was Very disappointed . However ,the bath room was up dated and had a clean shower
- keath (10/5): - Nice place. We have been here before.
- Patricia J. (8/5): - Quiet location and quaint property. Extremely small and dated rooms, but served the purpose and was a very unique experience.
- Michelle (8/5): - Great room and restaurant. Be aware that dining ends at 9 and all quiets down by 10 since rooms are above dining. Would stay again!
- Paul (8/5): - The nicest people in the world room this inn. They are proudly a bit behind the times. I have reason to believe they may be on the right side of history!
- Ariean (10/5): - Lovely little place.
- lisahZ6880IM (6/5): Inn guest not a priority! - Inn was pretty to look at. I feel if you stay there you are not t the Inn’s priority. Everything revolves around the restaurant. We felt like no one knew we were staying there. Lady at desk multiple times wouldn’t look up to greet or ask if we needed anything. Computer monitor was more important. All the setting areas downstairs was either wait staff doing silverware or restaurant guest waiting to be seated. Had to ask for ice at the bar and if you need some ice after hours you are out of luck. Carpet very dirty upstairs. Had coffee available in the morning but if you didn’t get it before staff there wasn’t any available. Place is beautiful and it is a shame that the Inn is an afterthought.
- Carolyn (8/5): First stay! - We enjoyed our stay, we booked at the last minute so we got a smaller room than we like to stay in, but it was clean and accommodating. We did not get to eat at the restaurant, but did enjoy some great drinks at the bar. The bartender was great and super personable!
- Marlene (6/5): - I was told that there would be coffee, some fruit and package donuts out on the second floor in the morning. There was nothing.
It definitely is out dated and not updated for this century. Outlets needed. Poor lighting. Not able to control air.
But it has its old charm. Surrounding area, nice people and local food was excellent and staff super friendly.
- Casey (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much the staff was very friendly when we arrived and if we had any questions they didnt hesitate to answer them. The hotel was beautiful and the history of it was so interesting.... the room was small but very clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and we barely heard a sound from outside our room to disturb us when we were sleeping. We will go back to stay there again when we go to Branson! It was a 10 in our opinion we loved it
