- Leslie (8/5): A Great Little B&B! - Property was beautiful. Location was great. Everything was clean. Lots of hospitality!
- Kevin (10/5): - The place was beautiful. Jason was a welcoming host who serves up a very nice breakfast. Definitely will stay here when i go back to Frostburg.
- Deborah (10/5): - I liked the eclectic style. The owners mother and I had good conversation and she was very hospitable.
- Victoria (10/5): Comfortable - We stayed over night. The room was very clean. The beds were. Very comfortable
Loved the pillows! Easy to find! Breakfast was made to order by a sweet lady in the kitchen! All the rooms were inviting. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
- Mark (10/5): - A gorgeous B&B in a perfect location for visiting many attractions around Frostburg, Western Maryland mountains, parks, bike trails, and Western Maryland Scenic RR. Can’t wait to return again soon.
- Charles (10/5): - All was good and relaxing
- Shawn (10/5): - Relaxing atmosphere, convenient location, a lovely property! Breakfasts were hearty and tasty. Host was very pleasant and attentive. Just an easy and great experience to enjoy when one is traveling.
- JIM (8/5): - Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very friendly.
- Betsy (10/5): - Communication was great. The room was spacious and clean. Comfortable beds and tasty breakfast. I am not vegan and loved the vegan sausage. Will definitely return and recommend.
- Robert (10/5): - Jayson was a very good host. Bikes were secured. Kramer the dog was a very welcome greeter
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We had the ultimate goal of trying out Tracks and Yaks, a railroad biking tour company (Google it if you haven’t already. Highly recommend!).
Everything went according to plan, with the exception of having a good nights rest. The beds in our room were absolutely horrible. I’m not even sure where to start with describing how bad they were. As soon as we sat down on a mattress half the mattress would start to sink to the other side. Imagine being a kid and trying to make a slide out of your mattress… well for this one you didn’t have to try anything, it came included in your night stay. The bed also shakes really bad similar to a water bed. I haven’t been on a water been since the early 2000s but staying here was certainly like being in throwback period. The beds also scream at you whenever you move or turn over. It was bad. We were up all night because we didn’t trust the beds.
Here’s my biggest complaint. I get that we stayed Labor Day weekend and everyone likes to charge more on holiday weekends, but how are you going to charge $170 per night, with beds that horrible? If the nightly charge is that expensive, then you should be able to replace the beds or charge a lower price, especially with only having 4 rooms in the house. Even if it’s a historical building/house whatever, there’s no reason for you to have guests staying with beds that horrible.
I would only recommend staying here once they upgrade their beds. No complaints otherwise.
- Beverly (10/5): Perfect Stop along the trail - This is a great B&B if you are biking the GAP or just passing through Frostburg. Jason was the perfect host! Very quaint and comfortable.
- Kristen (10/5): - Easy check in and quick responses from owner. Ordered breakfast the night before and could ask for a specific time to eat. We had a very nice time.
- Richard (10/5): Frosting on the cake at Allegheny Trail House - Our very comfortable bedroom in a house built in 1865 had a wood inlaid table with comfortable chairs, queen bed, and outdoor patio where we could sit. Downstairs were very comfortable common rooms with unique art displayed on the walls. A made-to-order breakfast by Jason was excellent. We have wonderful memories of both Allegheny Trail House and of Tracks and Yacs.
- Daniel (10/5): - Breakfast was delicious! Cozy and clean B&B.
- Cara (6/5): - The house was in great need of routine upkeep and decluttering. The pictures advertised did not reflect the condition of the current house. The entrance steps outside were rotting and handrails broken on one side. The room advertised was not the room we stayed in. The community living space looked cluttered with objects and old, rundown furniture. The owner did not introduce himself or respond when we sent our breakfast options either day. The only saving grace was the bedroom and private bath were clean.
- Lawrence (8/5): - Nice
- Françoise (10/5): - Wonderfully easy way to order breakfast the night before! Front steps rather steep and worn.
- Terry J (10/5): - The house was immaculate, breakfast was wonderful. The location was great. We had the front room though and there was a lot of noise from Main St. I would stay there again but ask for a back room or bring ear plugs for sleeping.
- Kim (8/5): - This is a nice option off I-68. We stayed in mid May. Lots of unique and nice local dining options. Check in very easy for a bed and breakfast. Bed comfortable. This is an older home and furnished accordingly. Bedrooms on second floor via narrow stairway. Breakfast was a nice but vegan ( which we are not) so it was not our favorite. The town of Frostburg appears to be aimed at cyclists and people who are healthy food advocates. We are in our late 60s and I would have had issues getting my luggage to the second floor but my husband is a bit of a fitness nut and had no issues getting both our luggage to the second floor. Overall glad we stayed as this was a nice option vs traditional hotel
- Kristin (10/5): Rooms were spacious - Hosts were kind but not intrusive. We felt welcome. Rooms were spacious and breakfast was uniquely special with vegan and gluten free options. Enjoyed their pup!
- Ethel (10/5): Quiet Charm - In the heart of town but very quiet!! Amazing artwork on display. Cozy common space for relaxing. Can’t wait to go back!!
- david (10/5): - Great location !
- Steven (10/5): - It's a nice room in a nice B&B.
- Timothy (10/5): - I like everything about the place except the fact that i got a parking ticket for being parked in front of the house between 2 and 6 am do to winter this is in effect the istructions from owner state you can park in front or back off the house the back was full i parked in front so what im saying is had id been told by staff that i could not park in front of the house between those hours i would have figured something out when i parked a truck was parked infront of the sign saying no parking when i contacted the owner he left it all on me and told me have a nice day i will not book here again after this being the third time i was there i feel that if you dont give enough info to your customers part of the blame falls on you as the home owner being had id been offered atleast have of the ticket price i would have appreciated that and been a return customer for years to come
- Jennifer (10/5): Convenient - Very nice stay. Was there to ride the GAP trail. Very convenient to trail. Very clean room and bathroom. Nice they had a secure place to hold bikes.
- Landis (10/5): - Personal attention and communication
- James (10/5): - Jason was an excellent host! Room was beautiful! Breakfast was amazing! Laid back B&B. My only comment would be that the house doesn’t have air conditioning in living/dining room/kitchen. Bedroom was comfortable but the downstairs was warm. We will be back!
- Matthew (10/5): - The Allegheny Trail house is a wonderful place to stay. The property is a restored historic home that is far cozier than any hotel. Jason was a very helpful and accommodating host, and we will be sure to come back next time we are in Frostburg!
- James (6/5): -
- Denise (10/5): - It was a great stay! Comfortable and welcoming home.
- Nancy (10/5): - Great place. Pancakes were great!
- David (10/5): - Very comfortable, friendly staff.
- Joseph Thomas (10/5): - We loved the charm of this property and how centrally located it was. We were visiting FSU and this couldn't be more convenient. The host Jason is wonderful and you can tell he takes great pride in his B&B There are many personal touches and amenities. Make sure to spend some time in the hot tub you wont regret it!
- Frank (6/5): - This property was average at best.
The room was not very clean, the beds were very uncomfortable, and the shower was very small.
The one bright spot was the pancakes at breakfast were amazing.
- Stephen (10/5): - The Allegheny Trail House offers the best of both worlds: modern day conveniences housed in a beautiful structure built in 1865! Everyone was wonderful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was an historic home. The owner had bikes you could use and would shuttle you to a place on one of the nearby bike trails. He could also repair bikes.
I wish we had known that there was no dairy in the house as I needed milk/cream for my coffee. Would have liked some fresh fruit like bananas or oranges with breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great breakfast and service. Facilities more suitable for hikers, bikers.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Convenience
- Wallace (10/5): Nice place to stay! - Nice B&B to stay on our way through Western MD. Big old house with a great front porch to enjoy your coffee in the morning.
Comfortable bed and great water pressure in the shower. These are very important to us when traveling.
Jason has made this a nice place to stay for the night. Thanks!
- Todd (10/5): Great stay in Frostburg! - Great. Our host was friendly and available. The room was great and comfy. Breakfast was delicious.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The only complaint I have is that I wish there were curtains to block out the light in the room. It was way too bright from the neighbors lights shining in the windows. It's as bright as daylight at night.
But I enjoyed our stay, Jason and Gus. Our breakfast was outstanding.
- P.D. (10/5): - Warm and inviting old house with lots of charm. It was exactly what we were looking for after a day of riding bikes on the GAP Trail.
- Andrew (10/5): - It was very good value for money. The hosts are very nice. The rooms and bathrooms are very nice, clean, and comfortable. Because of coronavirus, we were the only ones there, so the feeling was a bit down. Possible because of corona and lack of guests, the kitchen could have been cleaner!
- Angela (8/5): Convenient & comfortable - Our room was nice and breakfast, superb. The host is not as gregarious as most B&B hosts, which suits us fine but between that and not meeting other guests, it was more like staying at a hotel. There was a lot of light in the room, day and night, and some traffic noise--noteworthy if you're from a less urban area, as we are. Finally, there are stairs from the parking area and we were on the 2nd floor. Our aged knees would have rebelled if we'd stayed longer.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was no staff at the property you had to call a number and they told you how to get into place the room was definitely not worth the money we paid outside was dumpy looking the kitchen looked like it was trashed also
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Trail House. The experience was welcoming and the breakfasts were delicious. We liked the location and enjoyed walking the main streets of Frostburg. Now, the rest of my family wants to stay there when they come to town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful old home; well-refurbished and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Not the most convenient location.
- Michelle (10/5): Fantastic stay! - Fantastic stay! I needed a place to stay for business in Cumberland but all of the large chain hotels were fully booked because of Delfest. Allegany Trail House was the same price and had availability. After staying once I will never book at any other place in the area again. Host was kind and accommodating to my late arrival time and the breakfast was amazing!
- Michael (10/5): Bike touring paradise. - Stopped here as part of a bicycle trip. I was tired after a long day of riding and was very pleased with my room. Great storage for bikes, plus tools for repairs, and a hose for washing bikes, which was needed after riding on a muddy C&O Canal Trail. Breakfast was excellent!
