Lovely old trees surrounding a lawn. The fragrance of spring foliage and clean air from my window was a joy. Outdoor tables and chairs to enjoy the sunny afternoons. The bathroom was slightly on the snug side but it was still clean and well equipped.

- John (10/5): - We were greeted on arrival and shown to our room. The room was a good size with a good-sized bathroom and a large shower cubicle. The hotel has its own chef and the 3 course breakfast and evening meal were excellent. The menu changed every day and there was something for everyone to choose from. It was table service and the food was always fresh and hot upon arrival at the table. The owners were on site and friendly. The staff were attentive and friendly also. The bed was large and comfortable and the room well appointed with wardrobes, easy chairs etc. The hotel was very clean in every area. Everything was first-rate with an easy comfort that was very relaxing. 10 out of 10 on every aspect. A great hotel.

Our room was "Comfy" and while being a little small was nicely furnished and adequate for our needs. The staff were always very friendly and the hotel was very clean. I would certainly go there again. A few more amenities would be nice and it's a pity there is not room for a small pool, otherwise there is nothing to complain about.
- Jade (9/5): Picturesque, welcoming and gentle - It’s such a beautiful property in a quiet part of Sidmouth, just a short walk to the front. The staff were so friendly, and the room was comfortable, clean and cosy. Whilst it isn’t what you’d call modern, that’s what completes the charm of the place - it’s reminiscent of gentler, happier times. They were brilliant for allergens also - provided gluten free bread which I wouldn’t normally get! In our room our toilet and shower were in different rooms, but it really wasn’t a big problem, I have no real complaints!

- Kevin (10/5): We had an excellent stay and were very well looked after and can highly recommend it! - The property was excellent and very comfortable and the staff where very friendly couldn’t do enough for you. The food was superb with lots of choices and the service was excellent . The rooms were very nice and clean and very comfortable and we will definitely stay again in the near future! Top marks all round.

- Terence (8/5): Excellent value for money but too regimented. - Friendliness of staff and polite, helpful waiting staff Didn’t like having to preorder meal. Too regimented. Also allocated a table. No choice.

- Jillian (9/5): Relaxing and enjoyable break - Tucked away in a pleasant spot with easy access by foot to the park, shops and beach. We can’t fault anything, lovely staff, excellent meals and everyone very polite and friendly.
- Cranfords (10/5): Memorable short break in Sidmouth. - Jonty and his team at The Mount Pleasant Hotel were just amazing and very welcoming. We had an upgrade to our room, and the food (both the 3-course evening meal and breakfast) was absolutely amazing. The food was extremely fresh, very tasty, and served piping hot to your table. Highly recommended for great value and easy location for access to Sidmouth and surrounding areas. We will definitely return. This is a family run hotel, and it shows! Well done. Nothing... everything was wonderful.
- Kath (9/5): Lovely staff fabulous location, takes you back in time. Had a great time would happily stay again. - It’s very old fashioned, but this made it different to a sterile block. Our room was very small, but we did know & expect this.

- Paul (6/5): A Cosy Room - The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was very clean in fact spotless. The double bedroom was in the attic roof with sloping ceilings with a tiny washbasin and toilet with nowhere to store deodorants etc. The separate shower room could only be described as a cupboard. This is not a double room and would be impossible to use unless you are well under 6ft tall and of a small frame. At best it is only suitable for a single bed and should be let as such.

- Jan N. (9/5): Lovely little hotel! - This lovely little hotel is set in very pretty gardens, also on a convenient location for the town. The receptionist was welcoming on arrival. Our twin room (on the top floor attic area)was a good size with plenty of storage space. We particularly liked the excellent breakfast and service - which made a change from self-service, which have experienced a lot in the past! I also spoke to the owner/Manager and told him we thought it was a very well run hotel. The fact there is no lift and we were on the top floor! (I do realise that as a 'listed building' one probably couldn't be installed!).

- Susan (8/5): Pleasant, great location - quite old-fashioned hotel, but everything we wanted was there. - Room was very clean, although small. Extra supplies of tea bags, milk and sugar were given immediately on request. Kettle worked only sporadically. Parking was a bit difficult.
- Gail (8/5): - Pretty little hotel in really good location. Quiet road but walking distance to shops and restaurants. We had difficulty parking at the hotel, even though we were there off season. The wifi was variable, especially in the evenings.

- E Lynch (8/5): Well maintained with a pleasing decor. - This is a well-maintained hotel with a pleasing decor. My room was small but comfortable. Staff were lovely. The location is 10 mins from the seafront and close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was good. I was very impressed with how beautifully my fried egg was cooked. My view was of another building, very close to mine. I could not raise my window blind because I was overlooked by two windows. I did not like that I could not choose my table for breakfast. My assigned table was next to the door - not a great place for a solo who prefers cozy corners There was not much in the way of toiletries.

- Alexander (10/5): - Sehr stilvolles kleines gemütliches Hotel mit sehr nettem Personal. Die Zimmer sind klein aber fein. Das Frühstück ist sehr exklusiv, mit Bedienung und Karte. Man bekommt aber alles man man will. Das Restaurant haben wir nicht besucht.

- Wilson (10/5): An excellent hotel in a perfect location !!!! - The property was amazing ,very picturesque and in a perfect location.Everything about the hotel was excellent and we were made very welcome from the start .We will definitely stay here again and recommend this lovely hotel to everyone . Nothing to dislike !!!!
