• susanmC4640NN (6/5): BitterSweet! - Lantana Galu holds many good memories for me and my family. Our first visit was back in 2013, and since then, we have returned multiple times and experienced almost all the room types available. It has always been a special destination for us, which makes this review a bit bittersweet. It’s clear that some aspects of the property have changed over the years. A noticeable issue during this recent stay was that many features in the rooms now feel outdated. More concerning was the level of cleanliness. Several of our bedding items had visible stains, dirty mosquito nets and cobwebs on the windows, which significantly affected the overall comfort of our stay. Service was a mixed experience. I remember how, in the past, the grounds staff would warmly greet guests as you walked by, creating a welcoming atmosphere. This time, that energy seemed to be missing. Some staff members appeared disengaged or bored. In particular, I could not help but notice the pool attendant who never acknowledged us the entire time we were there, even though the kids and I spent over 6 hours in the pool area every day. He made us feel like we were inconveniencing him whenever we needed assistance. Another issue I found concerning was the hotel pool towel policy. Instead of providing pool towels at the poolside, guests are required to collect them from their hotel rooms. I found this didn't work well, especially when the housekeeping forgets to supply the pool towels, and you are forced to use the same ones you had the previous day. On one occasion, the situation became quite uncomfortable when another guest’s child approached me to ask if she could borrow one of my children’s used pool towels that were on an empty pool bed next to me. This is not something that guests should have to deal with at a hotel. I hope the hotel management will reconsider this approach or at least ensure consistent availability of pool towels in the rooms. On a positive note, the security guards in the pool/beach area were exceptionally helpful and always willing to go out of their way to assist. Robert also deserves mention, his service was outstanding. He was consistently polite, attentive, and proactive in checking in on us, which made a real difference to our experience. The food menu was another downside. It is quite limited, and if you’re on a meal plan package, it will start to feel repetitive by the second day. But given that the rooms come with fully equipped kitchens, it seems the setup might be intentional to encourage self-catering. Despite these shortcomings, Lantana still holds a special place in our hearts. The kids continue to love it, especially for its pools and beach access, and it remains their first choice whenever we visit Diani. With some attention here and there, I believe the property could easily return to the high standards we once enjoyed.

The pool and restaurant areas are beautifully expansive, with different sections to choose from, whether you want to be by the beach or tucked away to relax. Rooms - 5/5 Spacious, immaculately clean, and perfectly styled for the coastal setting. Everything works as it should and the space feels premium without being overdone. Value - 5/5 Outstanding value for what you get. This is hands down the best hotel on Galu Beach, and the quality-to-price ratio is hard to beat. Cleanliness - 5/5 Spotless throughout our stay. Clear attention to detail in maintenance and upkeep. Noise level - 5/5 Quiet and serene. You get the ocean sounds without any disturbance from other guests or operations. Service - 5/5 The team is genuinely helpful and responsive. We had a minor AC issue that was sorted within minutes - no fuss, just efficient problem-solving. They also noticed it was my birthday during our stay and surprised us with a cake - that kind of personal touch really stands out. Amenities - 5/5 Everything you need for a proper beach getaway. Well-maintained facilities and thoughtful touches throughout. Had a great time here with friends. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality beachfront accommodation in Kenya.
• markrutkowski (8/5): Paradise!!!! A gem at the end of Diani beach road. - From meeting the gate guards to the wonderful reception team - Timna , Regina , super smiley Mariam. Not forgetting all the Ascaris especially Issac and then the team at the Le cafe, especially Patricia , Baraka, and John. Also Suleiman pool attendant and many others Hotel has the most beautiful gardens and pool. The Beach area is amazing . The only chink in its armour is the menu as it seems the same as it did over 5 years ago and for sure other beach hotels and restaurants nearby offer more variety and a bit more atmosphere . Having said that we would always come back .

• Guide39228218973 (10/5): A little piece of Paradise. - Lantana Galu Beach is a wonderful place to simply chill and enjoy stunning views of the landscaped gardens and the beautiful seascape . Swim in the pool or the ocean, take a long walk on the beach and have a drink or two. Dine at Lantana and enjoy a wide range of international cuisine and drinks served by the hotel's lovely staff. It's our third time at Lantana and we can't wait to go back. Go on treat yourself, you won't regret it.

The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and we didn’t require anything extra. The Villas are amazing. The food was delicious and having breakfast on the outcrop overlooking the Indian Ocean was like a dream. Love this place and definitely coming back again. Felt personal when compared to the bigger hotels.

The amazing and supportive staff: Paul our waiter, Emily our housekeeper, Ali best security guard and Suleiman the grounds keeper made the stay exceptional. The staff are welcoming and the apartment was kept impeccably clean. The grounds to the beach are well landscaped and Le Cafe, the onsite restaurant, was convenient but a tad bit slow with service. We ate out for dinner and would recommend the Salty Squid, Nomad, etc. If you want to have night out Manyatta is close by. Transportation is easier via motorcycles or three wheel tuk tuks since Uber takes 13 minutes plus to show up. Loved the experience and will return next year.

The food is also excellent and they have a good variety of meals including Swahili dishes which we enjoyed. The accomodation left a lot to be desired. We stayed in the 3 bedroom suite which they confusingly refer to as a “bungalow” which was very dated. There was only air conditioning in the bedrooms and none in the living spaces which made it unbearable.

• mariadG6267AD (10/5): Beautiful family stay by the sea. - What a beautiful place this is. Stayed in one of the three bedroom villas and it was stunning. All the staff were amazing and so helpful and welcoming. Really couldn’t do enough to make our stay the best it could be. Special mention to John one of the trainees who looked after us each day by the pool and in the cafe. Reception helped to make bookings for us for dinner and arrange transport in the area. On the last day we asked for a later check out and, although, we could not stay in the villa as it was booked for that day, we were given a three bedroom apartment for the few hours we needed it for, at no cost and this was hugely appreciated as we felt we had an extra morning there and was able to use the pool and shower before our flights back to Nairobi. The grounds are beautifully kept and the villa was cleaned daily. The villa had everything one could want and was so comfortable. The beach is stunning and the sea so calm and warm. The pool area is spotless and never felt crowded. We would definitely return and the value for what we got was incredible when you compare to other beach resorts in the area. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place for a beautiful relaxing stay in this area. The cafe restaurant where we ate during the day and once in the evening was nice. The food was good and the staff were so friendly and warm. The spa which is run by an independent person did not accept card payments which was a bit of a hassle as we did not know until after our treatments, and was basic but considering the prices was good. Lantana is a stunning complex and we would not hesitate in returning.

The food was nice, however i think you need to consider giving drinking water as part of the package, other drinks we can pay but table drinking water i think should be served. Unfortunately we booked a two bedroom suite with a partial ocean view but the room had no view at all. The hotels.com advertisement even showed a photograph of the porch with a partial ocean view but that was not the porch we were provided. The photos also showed a patio that rolled out onto a private pool area, also not included at our room. The partial ocean view and the patio shown in the photographs was a major factor in deciding to book this room so it was disappointing to not receive it. Unfortunately we arrived on a short time line to quickly shower and get out to our next engagement so we didn't have the time to address the issue with the staff and change rooms etc. (if that was even an option).

• Graeme (10/5): - Excellent hotel right on a great fine sand beach. Very attentive staff throughout the hotel, from check in, restaurant, security, house keeping and even the gardeners. Lots of space in apartment, good facilities, including well equipped kitchen and even a laundry room. We stayed 2 weeks in total, with a few nights out on excursions and felt very safe leaving our belongings in the apartment. Miriam on reception was particularly helpful assisting us arrange various trips out. Too many good people to call out but must shout out Valeria in the restaurant and Mkala in security for all their help… as well as everyone around the pool and sun loungers who just made us really comfortable… I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough for a long safe relaxing stay…

Miriam welcomed us warmly at check-in, Patricia guided us through the menu with knowledge and care, and the food was both delicious and beautifully presented (breakfast mimosas were a highlight!). But the real star was Boniface—the MVP of our trip. He went above and beyond, from making sure our group was well looked after to organizing an unforgettable glass-bottom boat trip to Robinson Island with guide Wakati. We saw vibrant marine life, touched living starfish, and watched the island slowly vanish beneath the tide—an experience we’ll never forget. Boniface even thought ahead and packed a cooler with personalized drinks for everyone, including the kids. We left Lantana Galu with full hearts, wonderful memories, and deep gratitude. If you want more than just a beach holiday—if you want paradise with soul—this is the place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wenn man mit Frühstück bucht bekommt man den Kaffee den die vorschreiben jedoch keinen Cappuccino, sollte man trotzdem einen Cappuccino wollen muss man aufzahlen. Frühstück ist nicht zu empfehlen! Dieses Hotel ist runtergekommen und komplett abgewohnt. Klimaanlage nur in den Schlafräumen 30 Jahre alt kein filter jemals getauscht. Duschen funktionierten unzureichend, Toilette auch. Stühle sind nicht gebrauchsfähig! Wohnzimmergarnitur ist alt und ekelhaft, Küche nicht gebrauchsfähig! Es ist nicht zu empfehlen absolutes Nogo!

• V291VOaminab (10/5): Lanatna Galu Beach: a perfect stay - This was my first time in Kenya and Lantana really made it amazing. The service was exceptional: quick, efficient, and always with a smile. The staff were incredibly friendly and super accommodating to any needs. The rooms were clean and equipped, with lovely views to be seen from each of the rooms. The hotel is right on the beach and made for perfect sunset walks, and the swimming pool was also very accessible. The location is ideal, a short distance to the airport and a handful of restaurants/bars. There is also a restaurant located in the hotel, that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu covers traditional Swahili dishes, to fresh seafood and light salads. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I am excited to return back to Lantana, with all the staff making my trip extra special.

The staff are also super friendly and welcoming, and their beach view is perfect. We'll always highly recommend Lantana to anyone coming to Diani.

A bit on the pricier side during the Easter holidays. Lovely pools which are a must for me, the gardens are beautiful, and it has access to the beach front. The resident restaurant however was a bit of a disappointment, and the food while fairly priced not particularly good. Watch out for the monkeys as they will raid your food.

• bensonn737 (8/5): Our 2024 new year cross-over to 2025 - Frequent vacationer at the North and south coasts. Travelled with family to Lantana Galu beach for the 2024 new year cross-over to 2025. Hotel's location right at the beach is great. The three bedroom suite we were booked was good value for money. Its location on "The Tranquil Side of Diani Beach" as they say is perfectly correct. the beach wasn't crowded even on new year day. it was also a perfect location to set out for day trips whenever we needed to. not far from Kizite Mpunguti Nation marine park (I can't express how happy we were spending a whole day snorkeling in the reef). Lantana's a really good place to plan excursions while in south coast. Things they could improve. The pool, it is too shallow for experienced swimmers. during our stay also, something was not right about the water treatement chemistry or something because our eyes (vision) would get blurry for 2-3 hours after leaving the pool. Room towels were clean but there weren't enough, seemed to have been a shortage. the reception explained the situation to us but you can do better especially at a peak holiday season like in December. Apart from the dining part which was great. You could make the festivities for ushering the new year a bit more memorable, Even if that means partnering with nearby resorts to organise firework displays just to spice it up. all in all, I'd wish to come back. Le Cafe had great food and plenty of options for our kids, aged 7-13. We also chose to walk to a few restaurants on the beach. We highly recommend a trip to Lantana Galu.

We had 3 bedrooms and there was ample space and could accommodate 6 people easily. The kitchen was a bit dated and in need of some updating but we ate out so not a problem . Can’t really comment on the food as we were room only so ate out for all meals , however the drinks were very reasonably priced compared to further up the beach. Plenty of good places locally . Staff were really friendly and helpful and we throughly enjoyed our stay I would say this is a perfect accommodation for families and couples
• 345raitk (10/5): Good value for money if you want to spend a day at the ocean. - We visited its facilities for a day at the ocean. You pay 1500 KES per person and it's deductible from the bill at the restaurant. You also get towels, sunbeds for it and use of pool. Food is great, especially suahili style seafood and pizzas. Had a slight problem with chicken offered in the children menu with fries as it resulted in stomach issues. But we visited it for three days on no further problems just a joy.

The setting is stunning, with villas nestled amongst trees and flowers. We spent three perfect days in November. Our two-bedroom apartment was spacious and well-equipped, making it easy to cook and eat there when we wanted to stay in. The beach around Lantana is fabulous, enhanced and made almost surreal by the occasional string of camels that comes wandering along. We had several meals at the restaurant by the beach, which is perfectly located. The food was excellent. The swimming pools were sparkling and very inviting. This is a very family-friendly place, and would also be a great place to work remotely from! Galu Beach is a bit further south from Diani, so this place is a little bit further from shops such as Chandarana, but that makes it even more peaceful. All in all, our time there was perfect.

Rest and relaxation with a wonderful bunch of like minded people, on a picturesque beach, being catered for with a beautiful spread of food...leaving feeling like a whole new person! Definitely a yearly must!
• Christopher (10/5): - When we booked, I was unaware that I booked a villa. Boy oh boy was it huge. Everyone had tons of space. There was multiple balcony's to relax at. The Villa had a third story balcony. There are a couple pools and our Villa had an ocean view. The staff was friendly and security team was great. Le Cafe is the onsite restaurant. The food was good to great at all times. The kids enjoyed their custom ordered pizzas and the fries. We had to order extra baskets of fries as the ate them too quickly. Another big hit was the homemade icecream milkshakes. The beach was very nice in this area. Unlike closer to the Diani airport there was not a lot of rocks or coral pieces underfoot. The sand was incredibly soft. So was very comfortable getting in and out. *There are some beach boys in this area, but they was not very pushy or annoying. I never felt bad for saying no. I think since Galu is at the end of the strip it made for a calmer experience this time. One last note, it was easy to get Glovo deliveries for anything not at the hotel. Enjoy your stay. I will gladly book again.

The beach was serene, not busy and the ocean water spectacular. My son enjoyed the pool daily as well. We loved the food, room service was also a great convenience. Taxi pickup and for getting around Diani was also great. A big thank you to all the hotel. We will definitely be back !

• Steve (10/5): Classy gem on the Indian Ocean - Three of us stayed here two nights. I wish we could have stayed longer! They have taken great care to create a tropical oasis. There is a combination of beach views and garden views. The apartment suites are mostly garden view. They are huge however and could easily accommodate two families. We have traveled extensively in Kenya. This facility is one of the best- clean, excellent food, good beach access. What really stands out is the professional staff. They are well trained and practice a high level of customer service and enjoyment. We would so love to stay here again!

We stayed in the apartments/suite..really good especially for a family so everyone gets their space and especially if staying longer than 2 nights as the kitchen is fully equipped and also has sitting room, dining room, and outside balcony sitting area. Food was also really good!
• Christian (6/5): - Die Anlage ist sehr schön, viel Grün, sauber und direkt am Strand gelegen. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Die Räume extrem großzügig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die beiden Pools sind sehr sauber und nicht zu stark gechlort. Die Auswahl an Speisen des Restaurants ist gering. Besser kein Frühstück oder Halbpension buchen, sonder flexibel bleiben und kleine Restaurants in der Nähe aufsuchen. Der Gym ist einfach ausgestattet, aber mit etwas Phantasie lässt sich hier durchaus gut trainieren. Die Lage ist etwas abseits von Diani und man muss 15min TukTuk Fahrt aufwenden um nach Diani zu gelangen. Negativ: Leider gab es erheblichen Baulärm. Ab morgens 8 Uhr war der schöne Balkon nicht mehr zu benutzen. Expedia hat sich leider auch nicht auf meine Mängelanzeige gemeldet.

• Zoe (10/5): A palace - One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The photos on Expedia do not do this place justice. We were stunned upon arrival at the beauty of the place. The room was huge and incredibly spacious for 4 people. It had lots of little touches that made it feel special and luxurious. It was furnished and decorated beautifully. We had a very large balcony with a panoramic view of the gardens, sea and pool. Monkeys are visible in the trees which added to the wonder of the place. The room had everything we needed and was very clean and tidy - this was maintained by staff throughout our stay. The pool and beach are absolutely beautiful. The food is amazing, particularly the breakfasts. Above all else, staff were so incredibly helpful, attentive, friendly, and kind. They provided information and support wherever requested. I cannot recommend Lantana Galu enough.

• Jeff (10/5): Super friendly staff, huge two bedroom suite - Kenyans in general are genuinely very friendly and the staff at the Lantana are no exception. Very polite, always say good morning or ‘Jambo’ do their best to meet your requests. The two-bedroom suite was huge with two living areas, dining area, kitchen and large deck overlooking the grounds down to the beach. Pool and dining area is very nice and there is a very jut of land with palm trees out onto the beach. Food is good to very good although some things were not quite as expected (like Eggs Benedict with bacon and too hard a poach). Not a cheap hotel by any means, but very good value for money. Will definitely return!

Gutes, preiswertes A la Carte Essen, gute Auswahl, große Portionen, Weine preiswert, Cocktails viel zu teuer...keine Happy hour! Bin auch nicht sicher, ob wirklich importierte Spirituosen verwendet werden...die örtlichen weissen Spirituosen sind durchaus in Ordnung. Schöner Strand...kilometerweit weisser Sand, Seegras im Meer, aber keine Felsen. Nebensaison optimal. Hauptpool wurde nach Hinweis auf Ablagerungen am Boden ohne Sauganlage "gereinigt", der Dreck vom Boden war dann überall im Wasser...
• Verified traveler (10/5): A slice of paradise - The location of resort is very quiet. The rooms were very nice and well appointed. All the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. There is only one restaurant, while the food was tasty the variation is limited and becomes repetitive after a few days.
• Gocha (8/5): Great hotel service could be better - The hotel, staff and facilities are great but service could be better. For example, when we ran out of water and coffee, these could not be brought up to our room instead we had to buy them in the convenience shop which accepted cash only. I would expect it to be taken care of in a high end hotel. Another suggestion is to have road leading to the hotel paved but that did not affect us that much. Otherwise the hotel is fantastic and the beach is great
• jane (10/5): great location, beautiful beach, friendly staff - I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the apartment actually was. The kitchen was well equipped and there was even a washing machine. Beds were comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and always friendly. The breakfasts at the restaurant were excellent and there was a good range of choices - something for everyone. The flora and fauna of the gardens were lovely and the beach amazing. The pool-side restaurant provided a peaceful place to soak in the sun and the beauty.
• Johan (10/5): Lyxlägenhetshotell med allt man behöver - Ett mycket välskött och fräscht lägenhetshotell i lyxklass. Fin trädgård. En mindre trädgårdspool och en större strandpool. Fin finkornig sandstrand med små vågor till följd av skyddande rev. Barnvänligt. Bra och stor träningslokal med löpband, cykel, maskiner och fria vikter. Trevlig och lagom intresserad personal som verkligen vill att man skall trivas. Bra restaurang av internationellt snitt med såväl lokal swahilimat, seefood som pizza/pasta, hygglig prisnivå (öppet hela dagen). I närområdet endast andra resort och begränsat utbud fristående restauranger och andra nöjesetablissemang. Cirka 5 km till Ukunda, 50 km till Mombasa och 60 km från Moi Int, Mombasa. Finns dock en lokal liten flygplats för den som har råd/lust att flyga inrikes. Rekommenderas varmt för den som vill leva resortliv av hög klass och inte har krav på stort restaurang/nöjesutbud i närheten.
