Guest Reviews
- Rita (8/5): - This is a place we have stayed before, but there is a new owner since we were here about 8 years ago. He is very friendly and has updated the rooms. It was very clean! Our only issue was that the knob on the inside of the bathroom door, kept coming off. I was concerned that I might get stuck in the bathroom. Thankfully, I did not get stuck. I meant to tell the owner about it when we left, but we left earlier in the morning and the office was closed.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Nice room. Very easy check-in.
- Roger (10/5): - Love the little cabins!! So clean!
- Louis (8/5): - We had a good stay very clean air conduiting worked well. Only thing I would have liked a radio.
- JAMES (10/5): - I found it quaint property
The room was clean
The beds were comfortable.
I would stay here again
- Sherry (10/5): - It was lovely
- Ruth (8/5): - Very clean and courteous staff
- Kerry (10/5): Cute and dog friendly - Dog friendly, quaint little family owned motel. The rooms had recently been upgraded and everything was extremely clean. The beds were very comfy as well. This went beyond my expectations and I would certainly stay here again
- glenn (10/5): - well kept reasonable prices and owner very helpful
- Dirk (10/5): - If you are ready to stay old school; this is a great place! Fred is doing a great job of making a classic facility a fun place to stay in modern times. It will perfectly match your expectations, if your expectations are right 👍
- Kathie (8/5): - Not fancy but clean, comfortable, and staffed by friendly folks!
- Dale (10/5): - My favorite place to stay
- Bianca (8/5): - Staff and check in was super quick and friendly. We stayed one night and it was perfect for what we needed. A little too far to walk to town but I’d stay there again
- Mindy (10/5): - Perfect stay for Pirates Weekend!!!!
- David (10/5): - Convenient location to all things St Lawrence River. Shopping, restaurants and fishing. Very quiet. New fresh towels daily.
- Mario (10/5): - We had a great time. Very cute little hotel. Do not expect a brand new hotel but it’s very clean and the owners are adorable. We will be back for sure!
- CHRISTINE (6/5): Not bad location is great - For the area, it was decent. It was clean and friendly staff. Older amenities, lighting could have been better. Overall not bad just could use some upgrades.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A quick stay in Alexander Bay - This was a small 2 bedroom cottage with a tiny sink and shower. The beds were quite comfortable.
- Yelena (6/5): - Motel is clean and staff are friendly. Only one confusing situation with room price. When i booked with Expedia price was $114 per night, when I arrived and paid at front desk some nights price changed to $152. I spoke with Motel owner about pricing and he said that he doesn’t work with Expedia and he can change prices. Please check price and speak with Expedia customer service before you pay or you could lose your money.
- Shai (8/5): - .
- IRINA (10/5): - Fred at the front desk was nice and welcoming. Location is great, across the street from a state park. There is a swimming pool in that park. The beds are comfortable.
- Carolyn (6/5): - We had a small private cottage with 2 double beds. The PROS: 1) the beds were extremely comfortable 2) there is a mini fridge 3) there are chairs for sitting inside and out.
- adul (8/5): - Good
- Jim (10/5): - I never stay in motels but I was very impressed with the Rock Ledge. The owner takes very good care of the property that dates back to the 1950’s. We got a very clean, quiet room for a good night’s sleep. It’s a Thousand Islands classic.
- Jon (10/5): A-Bay Trip - We had a great trip and would stay there again in the future.
- Joseph (10/5): - Rooms were small but well equipped. Plenty of outlets, mini-refrigerator, microwave, newer TV. The bathroom was clean and had towels & washcloths for all 3 of us. The exterior door did not have a deadbolt. It had a doorknob lock (real key) and a chain.
- Jeremiah (10/5): - The rooms are small but its inexpensive, clean, the property is nice, the desk guy was nice, the housekeeper was very nice. A two minute drive to the Bay. Safe area too. We enjoyed ita lot.
- Marlene (8/5): - Staff friendly, room & bathroom very clean.
Beds need replacing ( no back support) & needs an upgrade from carpet to plank wood finish
- Mary Jane (8/5): 1000 Island trip - The room was clean and comfortable, the management and staff was friendly and attentive.
- Trina (10/5): - Clean and quiet! 5 to 10 minutes away from the area attractions.
- Linda (10/5): Good find - Front desk check in easy and person very pleasant and personable. The Room was clean and met our needs. While we didn't spend much time there, only to sleep and shower it was comfortable and accommodating. We like the motel style to park in front of your room. We would stay again while in town, good location for Clayton and Alex Bay.
- Shelley (6/5): - This was a perfect place to stay for my work trip. I like the personal cabin. Very convenient to all attractions. Cute dated but well maintained. The only complaint is the bed. The mattress was way too soft I sunk into the middle. I don't see how 2 people could sleep on this bed.
- selena (10/5): - We loved everything about the stay. Our cabin was perfect for just the two of us for two nights. My boyfriend said the water pressure and temp was great in the shower. Only downside was weak wifi signal so we couldn’t watch the tv in our cabin
- Shannon (10/5): - I loved my little cabin. It was so nice for just me or would be really cozy for a couple. 10 stars
- Roxeann (8/5): - The Layout is great. The grounds are pleasing to the eye and well kept.
- Anna (10/5): - My partner and I had a wonderful stay. Fred was so friendly and had some fantastic suggestions for local restaurants and hiking, all dog friendly. Our little cabin was clean and cozy and it was nice watching a storm roll in while we sat in the chairs our front.
- Michele (10/5): - Wonderful clean motel. Host was top notch. Would not hesitate to stay again or refer friends.
- lyne (8/5): - Everything was dine for thé Check in
- CANDICE (10/5): - Pet friendly, Manager is Kind and Engaging, close to Everything youd want to see, reasonably priced!!
- Nancy (6/5): - Pros:It was convenient to a pharmacy, grocery store and gas stations. I had a room on the end. I traveled with two dogs. Cons: The room had bed bugs. (Luckily I always travel with bed bug/flea spray) It smelled musty. The air conditioner gave me only a 4 degree range. The bathroom had mold around the ceiling above the tub. There were gaps in the tub surround. The carpet was indoor/outdoor artifical turf type. The ceiling had loose ceiling tiles and an outlet in the bathroom was on the light. No GFI.
- Reese (10/5): - We liked the small cabins. Maybe we will stay in one the next time we come up. We hope to return there in the near future.
- Arthur (8/5): - VERY NICE PLACE TO STAY
- Melanie (10/5): - Beautiful convenient quality comfortable
- Lee (8/5): - Super close to Alex Bay area, great place to crash for the night.
- Barbara (4/5): - It was close to downtown Alexandria Bay. Our room was run down. The window didn’t close in bathroom and it was 47 in the morning.
- Carmela (8/5): - My bathroom was very clean and updated. Had enough towels, soap bars for sink and shower. Tissues and 2 rolls of toilet paper. Magnifying mirror that extended from wall. But room had a musty smell at first but after awhile lessened by having fan on all night.
- Brett (10/5): - Fantastic place to stay, the owner is a great guy as well. Enjoyed sitting on the porch and talking to neighbors
- Barb (10/5): - We’re only there one night. We stayed in the cottages. They were definitely old, like the 1950s but very clean and neat and tidy. Close to attraction in Alex Bay. Would stay there again.
- Pamela (8/5): - Staff were friendly. Quiet property. Room had been updated. Retro small family motel atmosphere. Only downsize, room had poor wi-fi connection for TV; Connected only 2 of 5 days we were there
- MARIA (10/5): - Owner was very nice and accommodating. Had large cabin with kitchen. Was very nice and relaxing.
- Todd (10/5): - It accommodated are whole family, and was very cozy
- Stephen (10/5): - Needed a room for just one night and had a Very pleasant stay here.
- Christine (10/5): - This property had all of the basics that we needed for our short stay in the area. It was nearby the Swan Bay resort were our friends were RV'ing, and allowed us easy access to Clayton and Alex Bay. Basic necessities provided including a clean and comfortable beds and bathroom. Did not hear much noise from nearby units as well. Thanks for providing an excellent experience.
- lewanna (8/5): - Great stay !
- Betty (6/5): Old school motel - Old school motel. People were hanging out front of their room which was fine but some came back after the bar and were quite loud. Nice they have an ice machine. Rooms a bit dated. Over priced for what it is.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Very friendly, family like atmosphere. Exceptionally clean & well maintained. Cheap, Clean, & Convenient. It can’t be beat!
- Bob (4/5): - Our cabin was tiny. Mattress seemed very old, my wife and I rolled to the middle. TV didn't work. Furniture had seen better days. On the plus side the shower was hot and the grounds were very nice
- Sachin (6/5): - Our first time. Cable did not work for TV that was not the best. I called them but they mentioned our room was far from the router
The room was clean and quite comfortable
- Connie (10/5): - Comfortable beds, clean, close to town
- Gregory (10/5): - Small, clean, quiet, friendly service
- lisa (6/5): - Convenient location as we were visiting Clayton for work and Alex Bay for fun.
Easy and quick check in.
Could use updating of linens, window coverings, but otherwise we found it very comfortable and clean.
- alan (10/5): - Very good great sleeping and nice watching the deer and antelope play out our back window
- Anna (10/5): - I thought it was very clean and perfect for our stay in Alex Bay!
- Carol (8/5): - Location
- joseph (10/5): - Great motel. Second year in a row I have stayed here. It’s only getting better
- Lori (10/5): - I liked this property for a short stay of 2 or 3 nights. It reminded me of a retro 50's motel, but in good condition, with comfy beds and hot water shower. We had booked a 3 person stay in a 2 bedroom cottage, but only had 2 people come, which worked out for us bc we both used C Paps and there were no bedside tables. After rearranging some of the chairs we made it work, but realized 3 would have been very tight. Very clean, should have mentioned that first bc that and price is why I booked there in the first place!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I had a cabin, and I am a bigger man, so the cabin was way too small. Barely able to get in the bathroom, and forget about the shower. The cabin has not been renovated or worked in in years. It’s a true cabin, better left in the woods.
- Robin (10/5): - Very friendly. Perfect location. Well appointed. Good size room. Clean.
- Kira (8/5): - Very cute motel for a good price.
- Donny (2/5): Worst booking ever - When booking had the right date when payed got the receipt for the wrong day. Hotel could not change the date as hotels.com is a third party site they were the only ones who could change the date or cancel. They did neither and I was charged for not even being able to stay. I deleted the app and will never use them again.
- Melissa (8/5): - Everything was fine! Loved the fresh flowers hanging!
- Parthasarathy (8/5): - Good
- Anaïs (10/5): Propre et bien situé - Beau petit motel, propre et proche à pied du downtown d'Alexandria Bay. Calme également.
- Derek (10/5): - Great place to stay. Very convenient to the bay.
- bonnie (10/5): - This place is great. Fred (the owner) is awesome. If you need anything he will take care of it. It's nice to have a owner come check on you to see if everything is ok and just to chat. Located in a very nice spot. There is a Big M just down the road and only takes less than 5 minutes to get to Alexandra Bay.
Bonnie Burnett
- Ronald (10/5): - It was well maintained and the staff were very friendly.
- Christine (4/5): - The area around sink was too small that my toothbrush wouldn’t stay because of the angle. Also needs curtains that the sun doesn’t come through.
- LEROY (10/5): - Clean, neat and friendly staff.
- Marybeth (10/5): - Classic Mid Century Motel, could be earlier like 30"s or 40's. There are about 10 rooms & 4 or 5 cabins. Very clean, comfy beds. You get old school door keys which I like They allow dogs which is a bouns for us even though this trip did not include Fido. Very close to Alexandria Bay & there's a grocery store & gas statio just down the road.
- James (10/5): - Fred is great. The place is VERY cool, rustic but modern enough.
- Gary (10/5): - great for fisherman
- Daniel (10/5): - Beautiful property and nice rooms
- Nicole (10/5): - Fred the owner is awesome! Rooms are clean, staff is super friendly, only a mile from from alexandria bay.
- Richard (10/5): - Very comfortable and exceptionally well maintained. Good location within a short drive to Alexandria Bay.
- Joanne (10/5): A Gem - Well kept cozy hotel near attractions and dining. Owner went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.
- Beatrix (10/5): - Not crowded easy parking. Nice friendly staff.
- Barbara (10/5): - Very friendly staff.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Wonderfully relaxing ambience!
- Marilyn (10/5): - The rooms are comfortable and the owner is very nice and helpful.
- Gordon (10/5): - A great stay, staff and setting as well as dog friendly! For a basic motel, it checked all the boxes. We would definitely stay at this property again.
- Michael (10/5): Spring trip - Quick friendly service... very clean and spacious room... location was perfect for the area... very quiet but i liked the motel had speakers very softly playing music til maybe 7 or 8pm
- Brandon (10/5): - I love this little motel! Has the old motel feel, but very clean. The man working the front desk. was extremely nice and polite. He turned the heat up for us in our room before we got there. .I feel bad I don’t remember his name. The price is more than reasonable and very close to town I will definitely stay here again.
- David (8/5): - Nice and clean. Will definitely stay again.
- jim (8/5): - The TV was poor smart TV would not load programs and no network stations
- Nettie (10/5): - Very nice.
- ALLISON (8/5): - Needs some updating but very clean. Would stay here again.
- JOHANNA M (10/5): - It had a very cozy feel and staff was very helpful.
- Katherine (10/5): - The host was super nice when we checked in. There are speakers outside the rooms and he had 70’s light rock playing on low volume until about 7pm, and it was quite lovely. Great place to rest up for a fun day of exploring Alex Bay.
- Antoinette (10/5): - The Hotel was very nice and friendly. Need to work on having the TV working better. Couldn’t use it all weekend in the evening or morning to check the news and weather.
- Michelle (10/5): - Clean and nice
