- Kristin (8/5): Fine hotel, but the rooftop bar is not an ammenity - Overall the hotel was lovely and we had a great night's sleep with no issues. The location in the Gulch neighborhood is fantastic and makes it easy to explore the city. The hotel advertises a rooftop bar as an amenity, but at check-in, we were told it "gets long lines" and were directed to just use the lobby bar instead. That feels like false advertising. There is also no pool, which feels like a significant oversight for a hotel in a city like Nashville. On top of that, there is no outdoor space for guests at all. When the rooftop bar is closed, guests cannot access the roof, even just to sit and relax. At the very least, the hotel should allow guests up there with a book, even if the bar itself is not in service.

- Escape329290 (4/5): Don't waste your money - Don't waste your time. The lobby is classy and the personnel are efficient and nice but the rooms are total garbage (why I am giving a 2 and not lower). The floor was chipped as were the side tables. Cheapest furniture in a hotel room I have ever stayed out, especially for $600 plus a night. I will not be returning as there are more options in Nashville for those prices. very disappointed when I was trying to give my wife a great get away and we had in such a baron ugly room.

Naveed at the front desk… all-time great. Little details stood out—like the sparkling water tap in the hallway and glass containers in the room. Simple, thoughtful touches that make a difference instead of pushing overpriced bottled water. Can’t recommend this place enough.

The location is great easily walkable to many restaurants and bars, as well as shopping. a pleasant 3 or 4 block walk to Broadway . Hotel was quiet, except in the lobby in the morning, mostly do to the popular coffee shop. The place was clean and well maintained with excellent service. I think is a great value for the money.

I was overcharged for the room and it took 7 emails and many texts with the hotel to fix their billing error. The food in the restaurant was good but it has limited hours and is not open for early morning breakfast. There is no food option early morning/late night.

We traveled with our two young adult children, and the hotel handled our room arrangements perfectly—having them in an adjacent room gave everyone the right balance of privacy and proximity. The first thing you notice is the cool, fresh vibe and stylish decor that feels upscale but not stuffy. We were also consistently impressed by how immaculately clean the entire property was throughout our stay. A few highlights: Fitness Center: Usually an afterthought at hotels, but this one was spotless with machines in excellent condition. Killebrew Coffee: This ground-floor spot was our daily go-to. It’s perfect for high-quality drinks and quick, delicious breakfast options before heading out to explore. The Neighborhood: Being in the heart of The Gulch made walking to shops and restaurants incredibly easy. We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely choose the Thompson again for our next Nashville visit!

Appreciate well behaved pets being so welcome. Gulch dog park is a small but fun little strip of bark with rock features within 2 blocks by a parking lot that has lots of grass. Best cheese omelette with Hollandaise I’ve actually ever had for breakfast. Homemade cinnamon bun looked amazing too. Room service is from the on site restaurant and the signature burger was tasty and a good value with a double patty. Crispy Brussels sprouts were delicious. EV chargers available with valet service. Hate the concept of Destination Fees in general and the Thompson does charge one.

- dillinw2025 (4/5): This hotel is a meh and not at all luxury or nice. Stay elsewhere - This was actually our second night in Nashville. We only changed from a much nicer hotel because we thought this one too would be nice and we wanted to experience it. Upon arrival, things seemed OK. I was promised that a small fridge would be brought to my room so that I could store my medicine and check -in went mostly smooth. Once we got to the room though we were slightly disappointed in the overall furnishings. The negatives for us were the fridge was never delivered to my room, the toilet had plumbing issues and had to be manually snaked by someone in engineering and it still didn’t want to flush well after that. Also, the carpet in the hallways, especially if you looked at it in the morning when the sun was coming in at an angle you could tell how disgusting and old or unclean that it was in the hallways. This was probably considered one of the best rated hotels via Google/Amex Travel application on our entire road trip and to be honest it was probably the worst hotel we stayed in.

Ice is in plastic bags and easy on the floor we stayed on. Filtered water. Wonderful bar in the room. Awesome view. Easy walking stance to roadway bars and nightlife as well as the country music hall of fame - definitely worth the tour cost and the visit. Very high end shopping and excellent restaurants nearby. The Dove Daughters bakery was so good but get there early they sell out. Really nothing to complain about at all. Only that don’t expect to access your car. There is no hotel parking only valet.

I hope I have enough room to say all that I have to say about the wonderful experience me and my family had staying at The Thompson Hotel in Nashville. From the time we checked in with the wonderful welcome and experienced that Charlotte, at the front desk, provided. A Plus!! and she showed that same level of hospitality and first rate experience the entire three days we were there.. The room was a typical two bed city view room that was perfect for our stay. We had put a do not disturb on our door to not clean it and we received a text asking if we were sure about that and if we needed anything, let the hotel know. I love it. Customer service at its best. The hotel restaurant called the Marsh House is a place I highly recommend. The food and service was 5 star. Jack, Izzy and Kate were wonderful. Thank you for the over the top service They made the dining experience fantastic. Last but not lease, the pet friendly environment for our four legged family member was the best. In the room we were welcomed with a dog treats poo. poo bags, and water and food bowls. The hotel is very dog friendly in that they don’t charge a pet deposit when you check in.. Most hotels charge a pet fee even if your pet does not do any damage to the room. I am sure The Thompson Hotel will charge if there is damage.. I like that they may charge you if your pet does damage and not just because you have your pet with you So, thank you for reading my long post but I need you to book your next stay at the Thompson Hotel in Nashville and eat at the Marsh House. Ask for Izzy or Jack. you will not be disappointed.!!

We booked a king room. We received an upgrade to a city view king room. I was very appreciative that they were able to get me an allergen free room and accommodate me with a fan in the room. Breakfast was yummy and easy to stay in the $30/pp FHR breakfast credit. I do wish there were a few healthy options. We were in the mood to indulge so it was fine but on. a given day, the majority of choices are too rich. We didn’t have time to use the $100 dining credit so used it on a few to go items from the coffee shop. Customer service throughout the hotel was wonderful. I loved that each floor had water filling stations. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Water pressure was good and I love DS & Durga products! Can’t wait to book another stay soon!

I travel a lot for work and they were the best front desk staff I’ve come across in a very long time. The valet was also excellent there was always someone at the desk and it took less than five minutes each time to get our car. As a globalist the breakfast at the Marsh House was included the restaurant is beautiful and the staff was friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this hotel not just because it’s a stunning property but because of the outstanding staff.

- 601terrac (6/5): Disappointing in the end - We had a great checkin, loved the room but the help from the front desk was sorely lacking when it came down to it. When we checked in we were told that despite our Amex status we would not be getting a complimentary upgrade because we had booked “the nicest suite in the hotel” 😁. What a nice surprise my husband had planned! Our room was lovely, well laid out and nicely appointed. We enjoyed the bar upstairs and in the downstairs restaurant. Unfortunately the technology in our room did not work. We had a technician come to help our first night (which took about 30 mins). We tipped him well for his help which was appreciated. On the second night we had the same issue. When we called down to the front desk we were told that tech assistance had left so there was no help available until the next day. That was frustrating but fine, until the front desk told us that they “could have helped us if we’d contacted {them} earlier”, she then proceeded to yell at me. We were in their bar, spending money at that time. Apparently we should have been checking their work? I understand that sometimes there is no help available but the implication that it was our fault was frustrating to say the least. For what we paid we did expect that the technology in the room would work which I think is reasonable and the nasty response to our reasonable complaints was unfounded. As nice as our room was, not sure I’d stay here again with no expectation that the technology in the room would be in working condition and no ability to expect that the staff would be kind and courteous if it isn’t.

He went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. I used a free night certificate and the Amex Fine Hotels credit on succeeding nights. The Thompson handled this seamlessly. The hotel is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Their food was outstanding. I highly recommend the Scottish Salmon, Mussels, and Chicken & Waffles. The room was beautiful and very functional. I also enjoyed the gym. My only negatives are the lack of a lounge, the cost of parking, and the location.

The only reason I’m awarding it 4 rather than 5 stars is the somewhat outrageous rates of $667 per night for a fairly basic double queen room. Add $65 per night for valet parking and this is an extremely high-priced property with average-sized rooms that offer good, but not great, furnishings.

Overall, our stay was great. Food and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend the happy hour at Marsh House (Thompson's restaurant) for their discounted oysters. I would have been happy to feast off the happy hour menu every day there. Staff were pleasant to work with. Encountered a couple of issues at check-in and billing but both were addressed quickly with ease. A potential downside for those traveling with little ones is that the hotel does not have a pool. I knew this before I had booked the hotel so there were no surprises. Other that this, our stay was enjoyable and I would recommend to anyone.

- michaelhansen3 (10/5): Best Hotel Slightly off Broadway - First time visiting Nashville, and we selected this property for its location walkable to Broadway, as well as in the Gulch area with lots of great restaurants and bars nearby. I have to say this is one of the nicest properties I’ve ever stayed at! Is a very masculine feel inside and the first thing you recognize when you walk in is the incredible scent! The rooms are extremely spacious, very clean and I slept like a baby on their super comfortable king-size beds. I think the most impressive thing about the rooms that all four of us in our group noticed was how incredible the showers were! The LA Jackson rooftop bar and lobby bar both have great cocktails and we had brunch and dinner at the Marsh House restaurant in the lobby! Service and food were a 10/10! I would definitely stay here again!

- 595am (8/5): SERVICE EXTRAOADINAIRE! - This boutique-style hotel is located in the lovely area of Nashville, called The Gulch, which consists of upscale boutiques, nice restaurants, coffee shops and juice bars. Some of which are walkable from the hotel, even though one needs to be in shape to walk around, as Nashville is very hilly. The Gulch is in a quieter section, only a quick close Uber ride to all the lively action of Broadway, if preferred. Make sure to book the hotel weeks in advance, as it is on the smaller side, and fills up quickly sometimes. The hospitality and service was extraordinary from the front desk to the room attendants, always pleasant with a smile, helpful to assist our every need. The hotel has a coffee bar, lovely restaurant in the lobby, a roof-top bar with a beautiful view, and a small gym. There is a nominal destination fee charged automatically, which includes premium wifi and gym access. One needs to use their room card to access elevator, therefore very secure. We chose a king room on a corner, with large floor to ceiling windows on the city street side, which was great. There is a nicely appointed sizable bathroom with large bottles of pleasant shower gel, lotion and shampoo. However, I feel the shower could have had better water pressure. It was just ok. The bed was comfortable, except the pillows are a little too flat. The a/c blows out strongly, through a large overhead vent, so room can get chilly quickly. We had housekeeping bring us a lightweight blanket, as the bedding is a little thin. It is very nice that they supplied us with two comfortable robes to use during our stay. The closet has ample space, and also has a safe inside. There are wine, sodas and premium bottled water in the room for a hefty fee. There is also a box of treats, like candy, snacks, nuts, etc for a fee. In the treat box, we were surprised to find a special romantic/sexy treat, as well, and a nice smelling candle, if ambience is preferred. We had a delicious breakfast in the restaurant, but, did not get a chance to have dinner there! Maybe next time. I positively recommend this hotel, and it is reasonably priced compared to some of the others of the same quality/ rating!

Our room was large and lovely, the location was convenient to everything, and our dogs were loved on by all the staff. It was a great visit to Nashville and we look forward to returning.
- mmalabon (6/5): Issues from the start - My stay at the Thompson Nashville was a bit of a mixed experience. While the location and the hotel's charm were great, there were a number of issues with the service and amenities that made the stay less than ideal. First, the check-in process was more stressful than it needed to be. We arrived at 3 p.m., an hour before the official check-in time, hoping to take advantage of the early check-in benefit offered with our American Express. Unfortunately, we were told that rooms weren’t available and that the hotel was sold out. When I asked if we could check in at 4 p.m., the response was vague and unclear, leading to some confusion about whether we'd even have a room. Eventually, I realized the staff member was referring to an upgrade as it was part of our AE benefits. It felt like there was a lack of clear communication from the start. Things got a little better when a staff member noticed we were traveling with a toddler and helped us get a room. That was much appreciated, but it was a frustrating start to the stay. Once we got into our room, things didn’t improve much. The TV didn’t work, and even after maintenance came to fix it, the issue wasn’t fully resolved. It was a problem that continued into the evening, and I didn’t want to have maintenance back in the room after it was already going into my toddler’s bedtime. The TV wasn’t fully fixed until the next day, and then, to top it off, our phone stopped working the following day. We ended up having maintenance in our room every day of our stay. While the staff was very helpful and responsive to fix these issues, it was still disappointing to encounter so many problems during our stay. That said, the location of the hotel was fantastic. It’s in a great area, with the Gulch neighborhood offering plenty of restaurants and shopping. It's also an easy walk to Broadway and the Country Music Hall of Fame. If you're looking to be close to the heart of Nashville, this is a prime spot. All in all, while the Thompson Nashville has a lot going for it in terms of location and staff responsiveness, I think they need to work on the basics—like clear communication at check-in and making sure everything in the room is in working order before guests arrive.

- Mynameisjadem (10/5): Brilliant stay - Fabulous hotel - really nice vibe and great location just a short stroll downtown but out of the chaos. Had a great 5 night stay here - only downside was the pending charges they held were significant and held for over 2 weeks.

- nancytN1338CF (10/5): Wonderful hotel in a great area of Nashville - Beautifully appointed hotel! Staff was welcoming and helpful and the area was full of restaurants and entertainment. A short walk to Broadway . Especially liked to ability to refill water bottles. Breakfast at The Marsh was wonderful. Would definitely return! Loved the rooftop bar.
