• Werona (10/5): Fantastic Location - This house was in a fabulous location, just a short walk to Hanamikoji Street and, in the opposite direction, Sannenzaka Street. From a practical side, it was great having a combination washing machine/dryer in the home. You could put your washing on in the morning and it would be washed and dried when you returned.

• Xzennon (10/5): Great place, even better location. - The location was excellent, right next to the historical Gion streets, and a short walk to Kiyomizu-dera temple. The combination floor heating and air-conditioning meant even during a rare snow storm, the house was plenty warm. The windows/walls were so thin that the sounds of people walking past, or next door made it seem like they were in the house. But that's a Machiya for you.

• Elisabeth (10/5): It was a real treat to stay here. - The house is extremely beautiful with lovely Japanese woodworking. Outdoor lights could not be blocked out at night.
• Robert (8/5): Would happily stay again. - Great location in the Gion area. 10 min walk to subways and close to major bus routes. House was great and very comfortable. We has a a couple of issues in the house, however the service in getting them resolved was excellent. Bedrooms were not very dark at night and due to the type of house, there was some outside noise at night.
• Allison (10/5): Fantastic authentic stay in beautiful machiya - Location was fantastic and the rooms were perfect layout and size for our family of 4. The staff was very responsive and helpful on checkin. The inside architecture and design was authentic with beautiful screens upstairs.
• Amanda (10/5): Beautiful, cosy town house in great location - The town house was cosy and beautifully decorated. I was also in a great area - close to food shops but quiet (in a car-free laneway). Ideal having a toilet upstairs and down. It was a real treat to stay here. The only thing missing was bedside lamps for nightime reading. Other than than , I can't fault it!

Very clean and spacious. 8 minutes walk from Gion Shijo station. Washer/dryer a nice touch. Has Apple TV. Nothing really but couldn’t login to Netflix. Maybe a problem at our end though.

This whole Japanese style house experience gave us such a delight, pleasant time. Wish we could have stayed longer. The location is also very good close to Gion area and within walking distance to Nishiki market and stations. Looking forward to staying again soon:)
