Guest Reviews
- Forrest (10/5): - Very good and clean
- Kristin (2/5): - Hotel had an awful odor that actually stayed on us after we left the motel.
- candice (10/5): - Wonderful destination!
- Susan (10/5): - Rooms are clean and large. Although is no frills, certainly is nice to have fridge and microwave. Pet friendly and room to walk the dog. Staff is friendly and helpful.
- Luc (10/5): Rhinebeck Excursion - The Village is very conveniently located at walking distance from downtown with all the restaurants and amenities. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable.
- Rhonda L. (8/5): - Clean room
- Deidre (10/5): - I love this place! We have been staying here during our son’s college parent weekend for a few years.
- Fredric (10/5): - Quiet,excellent well kept rooms.
- Greta (6/5): - I stay here every year during the NYS Sheep & Wool Fair ("Rhinebeck"). It's basic and it's in a good location if you have a car (which most folks visiting the area have). This year's stay was unpleasant due to septic system emitting gases. I hope that by next year it's not a problem.
- Charles (4/5): - The property location is good. Love the town of Rhinebeck. However, the room needs some TLC and some updating. The bathroom is in need of work. The sink did not drain.
- Jason (8/5): - My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay. That being said the room could use an upgrade to the carpeting and overall decor. The bed was quite comfortable and it’s so close to town and affordable that it’s a great option for those who want to take in the sites and enjoy Rhinebeck.
- Melissa (8/5): Would stay again - The room was spacious and was comfortable enough for a 3 day/2 night trip. I knew from reading previous reviews that it was an older establishment so the worn carpet, chipped grout/bathroom tiles didn’t surprise me much. I did have to use disinfectant wipes all around the room before unpacking though (a first for me). Breakfast was available at another inn .6 miles away (go early as I overheard others complain about breakfast ending early when the food ran out). Housekeeping was done as well.
- Richard (4/5): - Check-in was half a mile from rooms. Little or no parking for check-in at Tavern. Long wait at check-in aro7nd 3.30 pm. No sidewalk or other way to walk from check-in, or dining room, to bedrooms. Wifi in bedrooms was pretty much non-existent.
- Joanne (4/5): - Poor, old & worn not very clean condition. Some surfaces had NOT been cleaned well at all. Smelly air conditioning. Dirty carpeting, dust on some surfaces. Bathroom door & handle in very poor condition - if not careful you could get locked in the damn bathroom! It appears that management is absent, no one really cares or checks condition of the rooms or property. Poor condition of parking lot looks like it belongs at a rundown out in the woods place or a shop that has recently gone out of business. I've stayed at worse, but ONLY when nothing else was available. Do NOT stay here unless you have NO other choice.
- Kris (2/5): Avoid. Wish we hadn’t stayed - Awful
No staff on site. So couldn’t check in.
Another guest told us the owners had another place a mile away.
Had to go there to get key
They had forgot to send email to inform us of this.
Rooms dark, run down & grubby.
Fridge made loud banging noise every few minutes.
There is zero care or customer service here.
Breakfast is not on site that’s also over a mile away
Never again
- Pamela (6/5): - Property needed maintenance and inconvenient for breakfast.
- Melissa (8/5): - Beds are super comfy! Staff is real nice. The housekeepers are the best
- Charles (4/5): - The shower was very hard to operate
The bathroom floor was sticky
Driveway and parking are in need of work, pot holes and loose gravel
- Thomas (8/5): Great Value Near Rhinebeck Village - Was a very good stay with comfortable beds and 10 min. walking distance to Rhinebeck Village. Room was large and comfortable with all the basics. Only downside was a musty smell in the room. But overall was a great value and enjoyable stay.
- Charles (4/5): - Rhinebeck is a beautiful area. We stayed at the. Beekman Village Inn, not the main building. There was fly paper on the mirrors, one had 5 dead fly’s on it. We mentioned that to the main desk and it was removed. The dresser drawers appeared to be broken. The bed was comfortable
The bathroom clean but difficult to adjust the shower to turn on. We are not impressed with the Beekman facilities but we may use them again because there is very little competition in Rhinebeck.
- Alexandra (2/5): - My 6 year old son and I were dropped off at the RHINEBECK VILLAGE INN --- EXPEDIA stated and confirmed that this was located RIGHT in the CENTER of the village of Rhinebeck. This is NOT the case. The "inn" which looks much more like a MOTEL -- is in the middle of a highway. NOT reachable by anything other than a car. I do NOT have a car / do not drive. When we arrived there was NO STAFF on site. My son and I were stranded there. NO way to check in OR at the very least leave our luggage so we can look for an alternative accommodation. AWFUL experience and EXPEDIA MISGUIDED me / us!!! I would NOT recommend!
- Russell (6/5): Adequate for the price - The room had a musty smell and the curtains were falling off the rod. There were a few flies in the room. It was adequate for the low price.
- Patricia (4/5): - The grounds and room were old and run down
- Daniel (10/5): - The stay was good. It would be better with more room to park.
- Robert (4/5): - Room was not well cleaned. Coffee pot still had coffee from prior guest. Poor quality carpet, which was not well cleaned. There was a strong odor of cats, very intense at times. Poor accommodations for the cost. Will never stay there again. Not recommended.
- Brandy (8/5): - Outside Property is outdated and unkept. It was inconvenient to check in at a different location. There is no ice machine. The room was decent and clean.
- Joan (6/5): - The motel was owned & run by The Beekman Arms Inn…oldest in America. That being said, you’d think they could update the Motel property and/or furnishings. Everything very outdated and looked like the results of a rummage sale. Carpeting had tears, curtains hanging from windows due to broken hooks, etc. Must say it was clean though. Also no staff on property and had to check in and out at Inn which was 1+ miles down the road. Cheapest accommodations in 20 mile+ radius so I guess you get what you pay for.
- Seth (2/5): - I reserved a room online that showed two available rooms. When I got to the motel the office was locked up and no answered the door. I called the number listed on a sheet of paper in the window and the person who answered my call told me there were no rooms available.
I called my bank to contest the charge for the nonexistent rental.
- Angela (8/5): - Management was really accommodating as they had us switch rooms because of a cleaning hiccup. Our new room was so comfortable and we got to enjoy amazing continental breakfast with homemade baked goods! We picked this place because of the price; one of the more affordable options in the area!
- roy (4/5): - Just kind of a run down super-8-like motel at twice the price
- Eileen (6/5): - It was ODD. You had to check in at another hotel .6 miles away, there was no staff on site, the complementary breakfast was also at the other site. Not a huge problem if you had transportation, but a bigger one if you came in by train, as I did.
The rooms were large and clean(ish) but worn, great beds, nice linens, and it was quiet. My biggest complaint was that the very bright outside lights were so bright and shown through the windows in the door, with no way to block the light. Avoid Room 5 for this reason.
In fairness, the staff (Kyle) at Beekman Arms, the other hotel, were lovely and helpful and deserve high praise.
- thomas (8/5): - We booked a room at about 6:30 pm and arrived at the property about 7:30 pm. The office was closed and there were only two cars on site. I knocked, rang the bell, and honked my horn. Another customer heard the commotion and informed me that we had to register at the “white hotel” at the center of town in Rhinebeck about a half mile away. We drove into town, found the Beekman Arms hotel and registered. The registration clerk said Expedia should have provided check-in information. We did receive an email from Expedia with check-in information at 1:14 am the following day (by then useless information). We were also informed that the free breakfast was located in another building near the center of town. Had it not been for another customer explaining how to check-in, I would have been out luck for the evening. That said, the room was excellent and the free breakfast was good.
- Diane (10/5): - This is a cozy spot close to town. Parking right out front.
The staff was excellent and very attentive. We had two minor issues which were quickly solved.
- Ken (6/5): - Found it very odd that check in was at one property, the hotel was somewhere different and we had to go a mile to a different building for continental breakfast.
- Nancy (8/5): good enough - Good place for families as the room was very large. Bathroom, bedding and rug were newer. Fridge does have a separate freezer section for cooler packs. bring an ice cube tray, no ice machine at this location. The coffee maker was not keurig but packets. not walking distance to Rhinebeck but quiet. If you can not be too picky then this will be fine, it's all in your attitude. Breakfast was very basic but enough for a good start to the day, you have to drive there. bagels, hard boiled eggs. pastry, fruit etc.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not convenient, not properly cleaned - Floors were very sticky and the room had many flies in it, which we had to keep shooing away from us. Having to check in at another affiliated hotel over a half mile away was not convenient either, although it went smoothly. Breakfast was at another affiliated hotel, adding to the inconvenience as well.
- Peter (6/5): - Water was tepid. Staff was friendly and helpful. Quiet. A/C worked well.
- bryant (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, affordable--lovely landscaping, short driving, distance from the Beekman Arms and shops.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Spacious room - ground level - parking right by room.
Dinner at Beckman Arms Tavern was phenomenal!
- Richard (8/5): Check in Here; Sleep Over Here; Breakfast Over The - We received ample instructions from hotel management on access to the room by email and a phone call. The unusual aspect was that we had to check in at a different hotel and a complementary continental breakfast at a third hotel. All three properties are managed by one company. The staff was very helpful about answering our questions. The selection at breakfast was good. The room had a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, air conditioner and hair dryer, all working and in good conditioner. There appeared to be no hotel on site, but there is a phone to the front desk at the main hotel, which is staffed 24 hours per day. Ours was the cheapest of the three hotels/motel.
- J Pablo (4/5): - Property has seen better days. There were a number of dead roaches in the room as well as a fly. The room smelled like a wet dog which makes sense because I think this is a pet friendly hotel. But clearly they don't make enough of an effort to properly clean the rooms. Also the main office is apparently always closed because when you get there there is a piece of paper taped to the door that tells you to go half a mile away to pick up your keys. I personally believe that there should be somebody on site as a basic standard of hospitality. The "ice machine" is an old igloo Cooler on the front walk.
- elizabeth (4/5): - First of all you check in at a different location and there is no staff on site. That place looks like Schitts Creek!
There was an outside light on all night that shined into the room and illuminated it! Room was damp and decorated with furniture from a tag sale. Breakfast(served 630-10 at another location) was a joke. I arrived at 930 and there was a couple of pieces of toast and a bit of fruit and packaged oatmeal. When I asked if they could refill bagels or muffins the person working answered me in another language and did not seem to understand English. Very disappointed and frustrating. The property where the breakfast was served was very pretty.
- Ann (10/5): Great home base - We were looking for a safe, clean, reasonable place to use as a home base for a few days and got that and more.
- Brian (10/5): Very budget friendly rooms - Needed a hotel to stay in for the night, and this one suited our needs. Wasnt like 5☆ Marriott quality but that said it was still pretty good for the price.
- Christopher (10/5): - Excellent quality for price. .
- Josee (10/5): - Essy to get to, clean, perfect!
- heather (6/5): - Odd checking in at a hotel down the street. No staff on site. Feeling quite isolated. The room was stuffy when we arrived. No AC on. Curtains are not completely hanging. Things are clean but overall feel not great.
- Laura (10/5): - Crispy clean. It's perfect
- Tracy (10/5): - Great place to hang your hat ant a reasonable price. Nothing fancy , but very close to town and clean. Beds were very comfy. Would recommend.
- Edna (8/5): - Nice for an overnight stay
- Laura (6/5): - For what it is, it serves its purpose. Great place to crash for the night.
- Lisa (8/5): - This was my first stay at the Rhinebeck Village Inn and I would have liked to have given it an "excellent" overall rating vs the "good" one it received. First let me say that my room was immaculate and the location perfect as it is just outside town. My recommendations that would have made my stay an excellent experience vs a good one. Firstly, provide onsite check in for your guests. It was very inconvenient to have to go into town and check in at the Beekman Arms. Parking in town is very limited and if you can find a spot in the lot behind the hotel there is no way to enter the hotel from the lot. The appearance of my room at the motel greatly contrasted with it's outside appearance. The outside of the motel looks very run down. The parking area had ample space but was unpaved and covered with puddles and I did not like having to drag my luggage through this muddy mess. Next, there is no place to put your toiletries in the powder room, A counter with sink would be a simple fix to replace the current pedestal sinks. My last and most important suggestion would be to replace your toilets. The last time I saw toilets this close to the floor was in an elementary school. I know that sounds funny but they are so low I consider them a hazard to anyone with joint issues. I don't know how they would be able to get on without falling or be able to get back up again once seated. All that being said, I would stay at the motel again but,
why be good when you can be excellent!
- Lisa (8/5): - It's convenient for us to stay at this property when visiting family in the area.
It's close to the center of Rhinebeck and Red Hook, so we have several choices for eating.
- Forrest (10/5): - Quiet and comfortable
- Amy (10/5): Rhinebeck Village Inn - My stay was fine, the bed was comfortable and it was a very quiet space. I am without a car, but phone numbers were provided for taxi service to the building where the continental breakfast was served.
- JOHN (10/5): - Just a great place and a great location
- Jamie (10/5): - Ryan saved the night! It was late and we ran out of something and he ran it over very quickly! Thank you again Ryan!!
- Patricia (6/5): Very Unhappy - I lived in this town & stayed inthis hotel in the past. The place is old but poorly maintained. Holes in bathroom door where hooks pulled free. Security chain broken. Bad plumbing - hard to take shower when you had to jiggle shower head lever to get water flow from shower. Little fridge had major ice build up. Toilet bowl seat cleaned so often, it appears dirty. Curtains looked about ready to fall down. Small dresser top drawer nearly fell out when you try to open it. No mirror except small over sink in bathroom. And the list can go on.......
- Jamie (10/5): - Very quiet and clean
- Jamie (10/5): - I like that it’s quiet
- Heather (4/5): - Really overpriced, limited parking, does not match up with the online photos. Check in was in another location, breakfast was served in a different location & there was no staff on site. Not as advertised or expected.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Clean, adequate for the price
- Leela (4/5): - We've stayed here many times in the past few years and always found it pleasant and well-tended. This time, however, the room looked like it was falling apart. The curtains were ragged, and the room was shabby and worn out overall. The toilet hardware was broken and we had to fix it ourselves in the middle of the night. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom. There was no regular coffee in the coffee setup, only decaf. When we asked about it, we were told that they were out of coffee, and they seemed totally unconcerned about remedying that. For the amount of money we paid for the room, we should at the very least have a shower curtain and some coffee. I'm really unhappy with our stay there, and won't be back.
- Regina (8/5): - One story small inn where you can park in front of door. Everything was clean and orderly. Nice size room with 2 queen beds. Only stayed one night. Price was reasonable. Would stay again
- james (6/5): - The breakfast is 1 mile away, the office to register is 1 mile away, and there was no hot water on Sunday.
- Amber (2/5): - The only thing decent about this property is it was close to where we were going. AC didn’t work it didn’t get below 75 degrees in the room with the AC down as low as it would go. Woke up Sunday morning to shower and there was no hot water. Would not stay here again
- Julie (10/5): - The property was convenient to where we were visiting in Rhinebeck. The room was basic but quiet sufficient. The bed was comfy. The room was clean. It was quiet. The shower was hot with great water pressure.
The back yard of the property was messy.
- lamar (10/5): Wonderful stay in a wonderful village - We wound up in the main hotel and the room was enormous and the bed was comfy. I always bring bath salts so it was a welcome reward at the nice deep tub.
- Julie (10/5): - Quiet and comfortable
- Sandeep (8/5): - To checkin at this property you had to go to sister location that was 0.6 miles away, kind of weird.
- Aimee (10/5): Like the old days in the best way - An absolute gem of a roadside motel! Room was clean, warm, and quiet. Just perfect for our one night stay. Loved checking in at the historic Beekman Arms Inn and receiving a brass key like the old days. Would definitely stay here again.
- Robert (10/5): - Great history, great tavern, great staff, and the hamburger was awesome. All around it was a great experience and would love to return and would definitely recommend.
- Lisa (6/5): - This property is usually an economic alternative to other overnight venues in the area, which we need & appreciate.
The rooms are basic, clean, and comfortable.
The heating/ cooling units are a bit loud, which is my only complaint.
- Rachel (10/5): Highly recommend - Everything was clean, comfortable, quiet, and all around enjoyable! I usually find hotel rooms freezing and this one was probably the first I have ever felt truly comfortable in without having to mess with the heating/cooling system. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast offered a little of everything--all delicious.
- SARA (8/5): - We chose this motel because it was dog friendly and very convenient for visiting Rhinebeck friends and family at Easter. For Rhinebeck, the price is superb! All staff was accommodating and friendly. The only drawback is that the check-in, place to get more towels and breakfast is a mile away at the Beekman Arms. We were very happy with our stay.
- Robert (10/5): - Property is dated but clean
- roslyn (10/5): - Economic place to stay in Rhinebeck...but you still get to share breakfast at the Beekman Arms an historic beautiful inn.
- Catherine (8/5): - Comfortable and quiet close to village
- Susan (10/5): - It's a lovely clean room, lots of space, and they clean daily. It's half a mile walk from town so don't stay if you don't like walking and don't have a car. Ubers are available but it takes a while. However, my friend and I had a great time and I would stay again in a minute!
- Pete (8/5): - This is owned by the Beekman Arms Inn in the center of Rhinebeck., which is where you check in, and where continental breakfast is served in the morning. It is an older motel, that is nicely updated and quaint. It is about 1/2 mile south of town on Rte 9. It I much less expensive than the main Beekman Arms Inn. Overall a very good value.
- Forrest (10/5): - My stay is always great
- Michael (10/5): - Very nice little Inn. Old but very clean and well kept. Town is very pleasant and has tons of historical buildings and sites
- Tom (10/5): - Was pretty clean for a budget type room.
- Karen L. (8/5): - Older place to stay, but worth the stay. Huge rooms
- Lisa (8/5): - Convenience and proximity to family.
- Ellen (6/5): - TV didn't work, shower didn't work. No ice at the facility.
Had to change rooms.
- Francois (6/5): - the price was reasonable, but the inside of the unit need renovation and upgrading.
- brenda (10/5): - Clean, comfortable. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
- Frederic (8/5): - Plain, but clean and comfortable. Main issue is finding a place to park when checking in at the Beekman Arms; it's not obvious when driving in from Route 308.
- Emiliano (10/5): - Clean. Great size. Easy parking. Quiet. Excellent stay.
- Aaron (10/5): - Check in is at one location, not the Rhinebeck Village Inn. However, we did not see that as a concern.
- Michael (10/5): Charming, historic town. - The Inn is part of 3 affiliated hotel/inns- the main hotel is home to a historic tavern.
The breakfast is served at the conference center and is a very decent spread, including a gluten-free bread.
Tavern is charming and great food.
The Inn is less than 1/2 mile away and was surprisingly quiet. Spacious rooms with just about anything you need.
Downtown area has great shops and restaurants. View the Hudson driving over the bridge to Kingston.
- Guadalupe (8/5): - It was convenient close to the stores
Breakfast was great
I end up with the shower handle on my hand when I turned the cold water
- Kristene (8/5): - Drove up from NY. Needed a place to sleep for a night. I slept well. Very clean.
- David (8/5): - Place is ok, thats it
- Valda (8/5): - Clean and. Comfortable
- Katherine (2/5): Awful - You get charged for damages that are not yours. The Tv doesn’t work. No shower curtain at all and 1 towel provided. No fridge another time. Thought it was a fluke and stayed there again. The phone doesn’t work to call the front desk which is at a different location. Hidden charges for damages already present but you can’t speak to anyone after 11pm to let them know. Because when you call from your cell because the room phone doesn’t work they don’t answer. Especially when you check in late like I do. The front desk person is nice and that’s why I gave benefit of the doubt. But paying for someone else’s damage is ridiculous. Plus you have to bring your own shower curtain and towels. The rooms smell like wet dog.
- Najah (10/5): - This stay was much better than I expected. It is located within walking distance to town. The manager was super friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I’d definitely recommend and would reserve again when back in Rhinebeck.
- gina (8/5): good ol fashioned motel - good old fashioned motel. large comfy room. refrigerator. coffee maker. I don't drink coffee so would have been nice to have a few tea bags and an electric kettle.
motel is old but all seemed to be functioning.
check in is at the Beekman Arms down the street. and the free breakfast is a 6 minute drive from the motel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and close to the village!
