Daniel (8/5): Wonderful - Beautiful property, very well located. Very friendly, helpful staff. Only that the coffee wasn’t refilled on day 2 in the room and there were no belts in the dressing gowns. Otherwise, it was perfect.
Lytz (10/5): I’m so glad I was able to experience Il Monastero Collection, it was a wonderful place to stay in Rome. - We liked the location, the quality and cleanliness of the facility, the feeling of reprieve from the action and noise of Rome, and the wonderful and helpful staff. Our room was at the back entrance from the courtyard along the backside of the church. And the window faced the Palatine Hill, so when you entered the space it was like entering a wonderful sanctuary. We stayed 6 nights, and during the first 3 days the sidewalk was blocked from access to the street almost to Via di S. Teodoro. Rome was repairing and replacing the sidewalk and it’s very nice now. This can happen in any part of the city, and was outside the control of the facility.

Ménage fait tous les jours Personnel gentil et très aimable Clim Oreillers confortables Trop de lumière dans la chambre malgré les rideaux pour dormir mais il y a à disposition des masques Problème avec la chasse d'eau qui s'est résolu grâce au personnel Lit assez petit 1m40 pour 2 personnes et matelas assez dur Mal insonorisé on entend bcp les voisins de chambre et dans le couloir, l'incivilité de certains vacanciers n'aidait pas non plus

Abbiamo alloggiato 3 notti in questo hotel: 2 in una camera molto piccola, con un bagnetto altrettanto piccolo e obsoleto, la 3a notte in una camera molto grande ed elegante, ma a mio avviso poco accogliente.

John (8/5): Does what it says. - This place is in a really great location. The room was very clean and surprisingly spacious for Rome. The restaurants and bars down the road from the venue are all pretty good and so you don't have to venture far for dinner or breakfast. The venue is minorly held back by a lack of a bar/place to get refreshments. There are plenty of restaurants near by but sometimes just having a drink at the hotel is what you need. It was also a shame that the roadworks outside made things complicated but that isn't the venue's problem. The bed was fine but too soft for me so if that is a problem you are forewarned.

Anders (10/5): Our expectations were high. Il Monastero managed to exceed them anyway. - This is a wonderful stay for a long-weekend in Rome. You are literally at the doorstep of Circus Maximus surrounded by ruins, but also by tranquility. Your 10min walk from the Colosseum, 10min from all the great restaurants in Trastevere, and 15min away from the busy Via Del Corso, but you wouldn't be able to tell. Located at the foot of the Palantine Hill in Rome, this is an oasis in a bustling city. The courtyard is an awesome hangout place when you just need a 10min break after a day of walking. No breakfast if that is your thing, but there is a great breakfast place 1 min away from the hotel so not an issue. Excellent coffee bars are plenty around. It looked awesome in the photos and the location seemed good (based on my previous experience of Rome) so expectations were high. Il Monastero managed to exceed them anyway. Just like Rome itself, it never disappoints. If you are looking for a full service hotel, this is not it. But what it doesn't offer in facilities, it compensates in soul and great staff. Also, who wants to stay at the hotel all day when in Rome anyway?

Bathroom had constant sewer gas smell when fan was on. Leave bathroom door closed at night. It really wasn’t that bad but was smelly when went in bathroom.

Das Personal war super freundlich und im Zimmer hat man alles, was man braucht: Espressomaschine, kleine Snacks, Wasser, sogar an Oropax wurde gedacht. Wobei wir die nicht gebraucht haben. Die Lage war super, aber ruhig. Direkt ums Eck haben wir hervorragend zu Abend gegessen.

O prédio é muito bonito, cheio de história, e foi restaurado de uma forma que respeita a memória e a arquitetura do lugar. A experiência de se hospedar em um antigo mosteiro torna a estadia ainda mais especial. Os funcionários foram sempre muito educados, gentis e solícitos. Escolhemos o quarto pequeno e, apesar de sabermos que seria uma opção mais compacta, achamos um pouco menor do que imaginávamos. Também sentimos diferença no acabamento em relação a outros quartos mostrados nas fotos do hotel. Uma sugestão simples seria incluir um banquinho ou suporte para malas, pois as bagagens acabaram ficando no chão durante a estadia.

Kym (10/5): Lovely hotel in the perfect location - The location was perfect, everywhere was within 1 hour walk, the bus stop a 5 min walk. The restaurants nearby were fantastic. The staff at the hotel were very helpful. We had a fridge in the room, with tea and coffee. We had no issue with noise outside, there were earplugs left in the room which we did not need. There was a secure luggage storage if needed too which we used on our last day. We did request a firm mattress/bed as we do suffer with bad backs. The first night the bed was too soft, however this was changed the very next day with no issue at all - thank you. We would also recommend a little more storage in the room for our clothes - there was only one very small place for hanging clothes.

Kelli (10/5): Great hotel, great location and we would stay here again. - We loved staying here. It was an amazing historic building, yet it was updated inside. There was much construction on the roads outside, but you can't hear it from the room. Check in was easy. A lovely courtyard is the first thing you see, with tables scattered to sit. The hotel was easy walking distance to the Metro and the Colliseum. There are quite a few restaurants nearby that offer great food. Only one, Martin, that offered breakfast, but it was very good. The Circus Maximus experience is right across the street. It's a great place to run or just relax outside. There is no elevator, but we were offered help with our bags if we needed it.

The staff is absolutely incredible, with special thanks to Francesco, Ludovica, Jay, and Tatiana, who all went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. I would also like to highlight the housekeeping service, which kept my room spotless every single day. The room itself was very comfortable and impressively quiet, allowing for perfect rest after long days exploring the city. The location is another major highlight — just steps away from some of Rome’s most iconic attractions, including the Roman Forum, Colosseum, Baths of Caracalla, and Domus Aurea. I will definitely be coming back soon — this was an absolutely amazing experience.

Tanja (10/5): Helemaal geweldig! - Ons verblijf hebben we als fantastisch ervaren! We werden heel hartelijk ontvangen door Francesco, we voelden ons gelijk thuis. We hebben vaak gezellig gepraat met hem als we binnen kwamen of weg gingen, veel gelachen ook. De kamer was goed, we hadden een fles prosecco en versnaperingen als ontvangst. Was heel speciaal. De badkamer was ook helemaal prima. Wij vonden de locatie geweldig, het ligt pal grenzend aan de voorkant bij Cicus Maximus en de achterkant tegen de Palatijnse heuvel. Van daaruit kon je centraal alle kanten op. Er wordt geen ontbijt geserveerd, maar dit hebben wij niet als probleem ervaren. Nog geen 50 meter verderop in de straat kon je heel goed ontbijten. Daar lagen ook verschillende restaurantjes , wij hebben uiteindelijk 4 avonden bij een zelfde restaurant daar gegeten . Ook was alles goed beveiligd door middel van toegangscodes! Al met al hadden wij een top verblijf en we komen hier zeker een keer terug! Voor ons niks. Misschien dat het vervelend kan zijn dat er geen lift is. Wij hebben dit niet zo ervaren. Zijn maar 2 verdiepingen.

Lovely rooms and stylish decor in keeping with history. Court yard secluded and perfect for evening drinks and easy walk to bars, restaurants, cafe serving breakfast from before 8am. Easy walk to city centre and Colosseum within 10 minute leisurely walk. Nothing as was perfect for us But if really picky - Maybe food on site but nearest restaurant was next door on a quiet run.

Ambiente, ideal für Rom.😍 Wir hatten ein Zimmer zum Hof, das Laternenlicht könnte ab 22:00 Uhr etwas gedämmt werden, weil es direkt ins Zimmer scheint und sehr hell ist, wenn man mal etwas Luft ins Zimmer reinlassen möchte. Ich denke im Sommer bei Klimaanlage ist es egal. Eine Möglichkeit um Getränke zu kaufen vor Ort ein Kühlschrank oder so wäre eine Verbesserung.

It feels like a museum worth visiting. The room is also nice. We stayed here during the Easter holidays, and we had to listen to some kind of concert from a church in the middle of the night.
