• Dominique (6/5): - Comfortable bed and design inside the bush Probably good value for the price and comfortable enough if not wanting somewhere super $ A big downside is what felt like complete lack of privacy, always staff in the gardens directly outside your room and unable to do basic things like use the bathroom which is completely open or have a lie down without feeling like someone was watching. The water became unavailable one morning, the staff were helpful and responsive and did find us an alternative. They said it was an issue in town but I think some other places you stay have their own supply/pump as was not an issue for our friends at other accommodation. The pool was dirty full of pollen and not clean enough to swim.

• koketjo (4/5): Disappointing stay - Honestly not much. What I saw on pics is not what I experienced. The house did not smell good. The cutlery, glasses and plates did not match. We were not warned about baboons in the area, we were just ambushed while having breakfast by a troop of baboons. The wifi signal was weak, the water was warm throughout, we never had hot water considering the shower is outside

Will definitely be going back The microwave was rusty on the inside and needs to be replaced. The restaurant was very disappointing. I could only order 1 dish off the menu for dinner. Waitress was very confused and mixed up my order as well as the bill.

The house had a bad smell, like wet mold/ carpet. There were a lot of bugs especially in the bedroom. The fan made it worse, the thatched roof grass kept on falling on the sheets. There was no cold running water.Plusy the top part of the fridge is not working properly..most of our food got spoiled

The pool area at the back is exposed to entrances of other units, making it a bit uncomfortable or awkward as other people will be passing by.

The security guards sits a - That its In Hoedspruit On a busy road, dirty, no matts, cigarette holes in bedding, holes in mosquito net. Spider webs everywhere, outside chairs dirty and turned upside down, dustbin without lid. Brown water. No privacy.

The highlight is the small private pool — thank you so much, dear Clare, for the upgrade! Clare is an incredibly friendly and wonderful host who makes everything possible and is always there with great tips and support. We’re really looking forward to our next stay! We will definitely be back!

• Tsholofelo (6/5): Overall stay was great just the issues identified made the first night unpleasant - The place is easy to find. Well equipped with essentials you might need, close to the shops if you forget anything and there’s various restaurants you can go to within the area. Love the private pool and outdoor shower you’ll definitely come across small creatures. The issues we had from outside lights not working, hot water not being available and spider webs were resolved as soon as we reported them. There’s a pest control issue, which requires attention, tried with insecticide . Didn’t like finding spider webs on the inside roof but that was resolved when reported.

• Yolanda (8/5): Absolutely beautiful, peaceful and quiet, I imagine how beautifuller it looks in summer - The bed. Goodness me. The bed it was juicy 😂 I had the best sleep during my time there. I wasn’t indoors a lot, so I mostly got to the place and slept and I didn’t want to get out of the bed. Overall, the place is gorgeous. But the fleece blankets in the rooms and sitting didn’t smell. I think they need thorough washing.

• Abby (8/5): It was a great stay and would definitely love to come again! - Due to the fact that I love interior designs - the layout and comfort if the rooms were absolutely to die for!! The bathroom, bath tub and outdoor shower blew me away and the beds were soooo comfortable!!! As much as I loved the stay I would say that the ‘braai’ area is a little bit small for 4 adults and having a few ‘bar stools’ at the cement slab table would be VERY ideal!! We were in unit 3

• Jochen (6/5): Vermeiden Sie Buchungen der Raptors Lodge 16 wenn sie internationale Ansprüche haben... - Die Lodge ist wie beschrieben. Hat genügend Platz und ist einfach zu erreichen. Die Lodge ist ruhig. Die Raptors Lodge scheint für internationale Gäste wie uns nicht geeignet zu sein. Bei der Anreise (Sonntag) haben wir bereits einige Dinge reklamiert zb. Pool unsauber, kein Warmwasser, Klimagerät nicht komplett in Funktion. Einiges wurde am Folgetag erledigt. Allerdings hatten wir danach einen Wasserschaden und örtliche Stromausfälle bzw. während der gesamten Zeit war die Waschmaschine defekt. Die Kommunikation war schleppend, alles im allen einfach unzureichend. Wir können die Raptors Lodge 16 aufgrund der Ereignisse keinesfalls für internationale Gäste weiterempfehlen

Note that the 2nd bedoom is detached from the main house, we enjoyed it as our kids are big but not suited for parents with small children. The staff were attentive to our complaints (refer to section of 'what we did not like( The unit advertisement was misleading which we reported.No pool, the selected option showed the unit photo with a pool and stated an outdoor pool not public pool. We suggested that management corrected the add to avoid further disappointment by future guests. The public pool is very small and not cared for. There was an ongoing rotten stench in the unit. Kitchen is extremely small with very basic equipment..on arrival the ketttle was filled with very yellow water, clearly not cleaned out for the next guests. The tv is in an odd place, not visible to all seated people in the lounge. The lodge is close to the road with ongoing road noise. All and all the daily rate for this unit is excessive and one can get far better units for the same money. Also important to know that Raptors Lodge is not based on the Raptors Estate which probably would have sold the road noise issue
