- Thierry60 (10/5): Face au Mékong, on se croirant dans un autre monde. - Installé dans un très bel endroit avec une magnifique vue sur le Mékong, l'hôtel donne envie d'y rester plusieurs jours. Le restaurant offre une nourriture de bonne qualité avec un bon petit déjeuner. Coucher et lever de soleil magnifiques sur le Mékong, petite terrasse agréable. Personnel très agréable et efficace. Piscine petite, mais bienvenue après un trail à une température de plus de 40°C.

Très bon rapport qualité prix. J’ai regretté de n’avoir pas pu y séjourner plus longtemps. Les petits défauts sont très vite oubliés avec cette vue à couper le souffle.

- Ina (9/5): Ruhiges Hotel unmittelbar am Mekong - Die Anlage hat eine super Lage direkt am Mekong und befindet sich in einem gepflegten Zustand (was in Thailand nicht selbstverständlich ist). Es befindet sich eine Schaukel am Ufer, von dort aus war der Sonnenuntergang wunderschön anzusehen. Der deutsche Inhaber ist sehr unterhaltsam und backt eigenes Brot (Vollkorn und Ciabatta). Er stellt auch Schinken selbst her. Es sind auch ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden und ein schöner Pool. Die Zimmereinrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber gut gepflegt. So ganz richtig vermöchte der Zimmer-Preis im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels nicht zu überzeugen, aber die Lage ist echt einzigartig und fantastisch.

To watch the sun rise or the sun going down over the mighty Mekon River is to see one of nature’s most majestic sights. A visit to Sam Phan Bok and the national reserves is ‘a must’. I was happy with everything. The Orchid Riverside Resort is set up to create peace and tranquility with a family atmosphere in a beautiful location, and it delivers that promise. It is not a place to go if you are looking for nightlife, bars, restaurants and an active social life. It is a place for total relaxation. You will need a car.

This is the most romantic place for couples that i have ever stayed anyplace in the world. I havent even mentioned the food and the food was the best i had in Thailand. Pelle and his staff have created a very special lovers retreat on the Maekong river that if you come to Thailand and don't pay them a visit its your mistake. Mat av högsta kvalitet och mycket trevlig personal sköna sängar och fina hygienutrymmen och nära till andra resorter med hög kvalitet och god mat som man kan besöka som har samma fina utsikt över floden. Sitting outside in the garden, right next to the mighty Mekong river is absolutey spectacular. And yes, of course, there is good breakfast and coffee and the works. There was so much to see in the region Just not enough time to try out the pool in the resort. Next time we'll bring more time.

- Mark (9/5): A great place to stay and unwind and the staff are very friendly and helpful - We liked everything about the property, the food was great and the view overlooking the river and the sunset were fantastic, a must for anyone thinking of going there. Looking forward to a nice cool relaxing swim in the pool but unfortunately when you jumped in the water was very warm, needs to have some cover over the pool because it is directly open to the sun, that is why the water was warm.

The views from the hotel are beautiful and the gardens are meticulously kept and had nice swings and benches to relax and taking in the views. I really appreciated the tours you could organize via the hotel. Breakfast was awesome with lots of fresh fruit, I appreciated you could choose from different options so everyone in our family could chose something they liked. The hotel location is very convenient to visit the natural parks nearby and to enable onwards travel to Pakse, Laos. We also visited a gorgeous temple on the way to the border.

- U8143UEdavep (10/5): Quiet, clean, comfortable, excellent food - Excellent private and quiet little resort right on the river with AC in each room. High bank view for miles, and with only 9 bungalows, this is certainly a place for peace and quiet. The food is very well prepared and has a good offering of western and thai dishes. Our room was clean, roomy enough, being on par with most hotel room, bed was comfortable and they have the standard hot pot with nescafe and tea. I read some comments on a small bathroom but ours was more than adequate. Certainly not enough room for a dance party but more than adequate for the uses intended! They do provide a hair dryer and warm shower. Very clean, welcoming staff and hosts, good breakfast (included).

Breakfast was very good in that the eggs were freshly cooked and hot! Very unusual in many resorts and hotels. Dinner was good. The chalets were first class and spacious. Pity that the excellent Barolo was served straight from the fridge! Not unusual in Thailand.

- Fran (8/5): Very good - The location is perfect. My room was right on the Moon River with a terrace. Restaurant is also on the water and serves a wide array of Thai and western food. The young man, Bon, who kind of runs the place was great. Very friendly and belpful. They also offer transportation to the fabulous Pha Taem National Park and Sam Phon Bok. It’s a very relaxing and comfortable place to stay. I thought the transportation was overpriced and probably if you arranged to go the famed sites in the area like Pha Taem and Sam Phon Bok it would be less expensive to arrange it in town. However, the resort is a few miles out of Khong Chiam so it was easier to just use the hotel services.

- Y5613ROdavidp (10/5): One of the best Resorts I have stayed in! - Totally unable to fault this Resort, the service was 10/10 and the owner and staff really friendly and customer focused. The Resort and amenities were very clean and well laid out and being situated alongside the Mekong River, a totally relaxing place for whatever occasion. The food was absolutely delicious, especially those Mekong River Rock Lobsters! I can see my return to this Resort being scheduled in on a more frequent basis. Absolutely loved the place!

- Banlue (10/5): A very nice hotel at in great location - I just stayed there with my father at this small but charming hotel. It is by the Mekong river not far from the confluence of the Mun river and therefore we can easily spot the two color river. The room is not big but is well equiped and nicely decorated. There's not many facilities there as this is a very small hotel. There is one small swimming pool, which is very well maintained and I used it alone in the afternoon and in the morning. I also tried swimming in the river as well and it is quite a new experience. It is unfortunate that we didn't have a chance to have dinner there, which must have been very nice to eat while seeing the sunset on the Mekong. The hotel provided good breakfast for us. The owners are very hospitable and respectable people. I hope I would have a chance to stay there again.
- Benjamas (8/5): Pleasant stay at Mekhong & Mun - Nice, small, and quiet resort where the two rivers merge. Rooms are small, but efficiently designed, and have a gorgeous view onto the rivers. Resort is run by a nice family who also serves excellent food in their restaurant. Suggestions for improvement would be for the shower. A handheld shower head would be a welcome addition, and faster temperature control would help reduce water consumption.
- Dietrich (8/5): Kleine Anlage in schöner Lage am Mekong - Insgesamt waren wir zufrieden. Leider war bei unserer Ankunft die Beschilderung zur Rezeption irreführend. Ich bin dadurch in einen falschen Eingang geraten und wurde dann in einer nicht sehr freundlichen Art weitergeschickt.

- 757rayl (8/5): Beware the service charge in restaurant - We didn't stay at the resort, we only ate at the restaurant. First the pros: great steak and soups. Had the grain fed ribeye and it was cooked exactly as ordered. Mushroom soup was also tasty. Great location on the river and you can see the whole place is well set up and well taken care of. Now the cons: This is a place set up obviously to attract farangs but they only have Singha and Chang beer? That is silly. As they are so close to Laos, they could even offer Beer Laos. Anything but disgusting local brew. Secondly, the idea of a service charge turns me off. There is something about having to pay a tip for service whether good, bad or otherwise that is simply wrong.
- phimphone (10/5): Hidden gem! - Loved everything about this resort. It’s a hidden gem! The resort is tastefully decorated and landscaped, the bed was the most comfortable in Thailand and that showerhead... Whoa! Amazing! The view of the river and being able to sit across the river and Laos ? Priceless! Oh, the most breathtaking sunset in Thailand all for under $100 including breakfast. The owner and her family are warm and genuinely kind. Book! Don’t hesitate!
- Suihung (10/5): Great quiet hotel by the river - Great hotel with beautiful views of the mekong river. The pillowtop mattress is very comfortable unlike most Thai hotels which usually feature rock hard beds. The breakfast is sumptuous and tasty with a choice of main course that comes with Chinese dough and fruits😁
- keithjames351 (8/5): Fabulous location, nice place. - A small resort, very friendly and rooms overlook the Mekhong river. The six rooms are fairly small but well appointed and the pillows were perfect! Nice little seating area outside each room. This would be a great place to just chill out in and enjoy the perfect location. The restaurant is nice and, of our party of four, three enjoyed a good dinner. Unfortunately, the fourth didn't get what she ordered and gave up trying to eat as the chef was insistent that he was doing her a favour by cooking something else for her. Very pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant, inside and outside seating but they seem to be stuck on playing the ame CD over and over, despite a request to change the music after we'd heard it all half a dozen times. Cooked breakfasts a little sad but muesli option is good. Overall, recommended and we aim to return some time.
- SHUICHI (4/5): 値段ほどの価値はない - 隣りとの壁が薄く、話し声が聞こえてくる。 破れたタオルを使っている。 まわりには何もないので、交通手段がないと、 何も出来ない。 リゾートホテルと言うイメージで行くと、 全く違うことになるかも。 プールはあるが、とても小さい。 ２５００B払う価値はないと思う。

- gjbragg (10/5): Relaxing - Quiet little excellent run resort. Nestled on the bank of the 2 great rivers joining. This is a real gem if you want peace and quiet. 6 bungalows, all with great views. The check in was quick. The bungalows are semi detached. Modern. Very clean and the bed was so comfortable. The owners and staff were so friendly. The breakfast is not buffet. But it was excellent. The Chef is a very accomplished cook. We dined there and the Thai food was superb. If you want a quiet retreat then look no further in this area. This is the one. You will need transport as the resort is about 4km from the town area. I did not like a small resort charging a service fee and tax. It did not look right. But this is me. Personally I don't like service charges as I tip on the service I get. But I understand. Totally recommended. You will not be dissapointed.
- A3532TPmartina (10/5): Lovely quiet place. - We chose this place for a relaxing getaway one weekend, and we don't regret it. "P" and his family and staff are so great. We stayed in a great bungalow with a magnificent view, just great to wake up there. Choices of breakfast sets were good, and we had some great dinners there as well. I can Really recommend this place.
- terrya577 (10/5): A real 'Gem' - Took 3 of the 6 rooms in this boutique resort as was touring with family from the UK. Having previously stayed at a nearby much larger resort, this resort, developed, built, and operated by the owner Pieter, and managed/operated by him, his wife and family plus other staffs, was a 'breath of fresh air'. Great friendly personal service, excellent, very clean and well maintained rooms all with stunning views of the mighty Mekong River (in almost but not quite overflow mode during our visit). Nice pool and deck area. Dinner and breakfasts were well prepared and very tasty. However, as there is only the one cook, some patience is required for the food to arrive, but is well worth the wait. I will visit again!
