• Emily (9/5): Lovely hotel in a stunning location - Hotel Lake Park is a lovely hotel in an absolutely amazing location, you are a stone’s throw from the lake, and it is like staying in the middle of a national park with all the wildlife around (egrets, pelicans, mongoose!). The food is good and the staff are very kind and helpful. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at Hotel Lake Park and would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking to explore Polonnaruwa, or just somewhere to relax and enjoy Sri Lankan nature! The hotel does need a bit of TLC, for example, there is an unfinished first floor above the rooms and the AC unit was held together by a plaster. The beds also need mosquito nets (that said, we did not get bitten in the rooms, despite being next to water). However, everything is clean, they have nice bathrooms and kettles + tea/coffee in the rooms

• Jürgen (7/5): - The hotel is beautifully located by the lake and large trees provide shade. There are many crows in the trees and bird droppings are all over the seats and tables. You have to be careful not to get hit by bird droppings. The water in the pool is cloudy so we did not use it.

El chico de la recepción nos ayudó con todo lo que necesitábamos y más. Había algunos insectos en la habitación y el agua de la ducha no siempre calentaba. El desayuno es un poco desorganizado, se demoran mucho en traer cada cosa.
• Azusa (9/5): - I am a nature lover, so having a room just in front of the lake was amazing. I woke up early and nicely with the sounds of birds and sunrise. The room itself seemed old as I saw a lot of cracks on the wooden floor, showing long history of the building. The food was nice with tourist standard price.

• Anne (9/5): Upea ja kaunis miljöö - Ympäristö oli upea. Sieltä näki sekä auringonlaskun että -nousun. Uima-allas oli kiva ja järvimaisema kruunasi kaiken. Henkilökunta oli varsin ystävällistä. Huoneen neljä ilmastointilaite oli varsin kovaääninen.

• xiaoxiao (10/5): - 房价不贵，却是在斯里兰卡我住过的最喜欢的酒店，距离古城有点距离，但完全也不需要出去。酒店位于湖边的一片湿地，好几种鸟在这儿的大树上栖息，鸟们成群地盘旋和鸣叫时非常震撼，此外还看到了松鼠、黄鼬、水牛，运气好时听说还能看到大象，动物们在这里悠闲地踱步来去，和人类和谐共处。在这可以同时欣赏到日出和日落，旁晚泡在泳池里等待日落和早晨在鸟鸣中看书等待日出都是非常幸福的体验，酒店还提供划船看日出日落的活动。房间举架很高，特别敞亮，隔着大落地窗，在房间里就可以欣赏湖景和路过的动物，房间装饰风格简约古朴，床也很舒适。晚餐出乎意料地好吃、有锅气，所以不需要外出就餐。前台的工作人员，有求必应，解决各种问题都利落靠谱。我眼里，这家酒店只有各种优点，没有任何缺点。

• Michiel (8/5): - De ligging aan het meer is fantastisch. We vroegen om fietsen en die stonden klaar voor ons. De laundry service kan ik niet aanbevelen. Ik kreeg de was deels vuil terug. Blijkbaar was het met de hand gewassen. Als ik dat had geweten had ik het ook zelf kunnen doen.

• Theresa (10/5): - We spent a wonderful two nights at this lovely place. It's right by the lake with lots of wildlife. Everything was lovely, the room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool and garden area were great and it was an amazing place to relax surrounded by nature. We enjoyed several meals here. They also arranged a boat trip on the lake, we were lucky to see elephants from the boat and we stayed nearby to enjoy watching them for a good time, which was an amazing and peaceful way to watch the elephants without disturbing them. I would have loved to stay longer!

• Linda (9/5): Mysigt ställe med trevlig personal, härlig pool och rymligt rum. - Fantastiskt mysigt läge vid en sjö. Nära till alla spännande sevärdheter i Pollonnaruwa, men ändå avskilt och lugnt. Fint poolområde. Restaurang med god mat och dryck. Litet och personligt. Tvättservicen var inte bra. Kläderna var antingen smutsiga, eller hade krympt. Annars var allt kanon!

• Lydia (7/5): - Hotel direkt am See gelegen, leckeres Frühstück (englisch oder Srilankanisch), es ist ein Pool vorhanden der allerdings nicht von uns genutzt wurde da des geregnet hat und bei näherem Blick haben wir viele kleine Unterwasser Tiere gesehen. Großes, geräumiges Zimmer mit AC und Ventilator. Ein schöner Blick direkt auf den See. Im Restaurant konnte man leckeres Essen bestellen. Kein Kühlschrank/ Safe vorhanden. Sauberkeit in der Dusche eher dürftig. Hotelanlage etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber trotzdem noch ok

• Gertwin & Brigitte (8/5): - Leuk restaurantje en tuin om van zonsondergang te genieten over het meer. Met een beetje geluk komen kun je wilde dieren spotten aan de rand van de tuin. Prima zwembad om nog even te ontspannen. Niet ver van oude centrum.

Olifanten te zien op afstand, helaas niet bij het hek tijdens ons verblijf. Diner viel een beetje tegen. Ook geen restaurants in de buurt. Koelkast was fijn geweest.
• Lucia (10/5): INCREIBLE - Desde el minuto 1 que llegamos a este hotel ha sido una locura. Nos recibieron con bebida típica de Sri Lanka y fueron muy amables. Las instalaciones son preciosas. Vivimos uno de los atardeceres más bonitos que he visto en mi vida desde el jardín al lado de la piscina. Se ve todo el Lago y es precioso. El sonido de las aves. El personal muy atento con nosotras. El desayuno es súper completo con frutas, huevo, salchichas, pan, leche, café… todo riquísimo y super atentos! Ojalá si vuelvo a venir a Srilanka volver a este hotel. Un 10 💗

• Tobias (8/5): Schöne Anlage in Pollunaruwa - Sehr schöne Anlage, die etwas abgelegen, aber dafür schön ruhig ist. Der Pool ist ein nettes extra und passt gut zum schönen Ambiente. Man sollte sich allerdings nachts etwas auf/in die Ohren machen. Zur Dämmerung können die Vögel sehr laut werden.

• Marce (10/5): - La ubicación, las vistas desde la habitación son increíbles, puedes ver el amanecer sobre el lago desde la cama, y te duchas viendo el lago!! El entorno está muy bien, y la piscina estupenda. Buen atardecer. No tuvimos suerte de ver elefantes rondando por el lago, pero si ardillas, mangostas,etc...desayunamos y cenamos en el hotel. La comida es sencilla, pero vale la pena por el entorno.

• tracy (8/5): Unique base for exploring minneriya and ancient city - A unique location surrounded by wildlife. From the hotel garden we could see elephants bathing across the lake. Excellent base for exploring the ancient city and minneriya. Incredible value for money We were visited by the occasional house gecko but nothing you wouldn’t expect given the location

The hotel rooms although was nice could use an updated bathrooms, the sheets provided were dirty at one point. And we also got laundry that we sent out with dirty marks all over some of the items. The staff here takes along time except the main guys I believe his name was Dilshan who was prompt and accommodating. He was great but the tea could use some major customer service training. There’s also a massive group of crows that seem to take over the entire hotel area where it was constant loud bird calls until late at night and early mornings. So it was very restful. Hopefully they can improve as it has potential

Stad in de buurt om lekker te fietsen en te ontdekken. Echt een aanrader. Super verblijf gehad. Bedden mogen vervangen worden maar slapen nog ok.

We booked a safari to Minneriya national park. The safari was moved to another national park without acknowledging it.. We realised that we didn't go to Minneriya when the safari finished.

• Marco (9/5): - We had a very nice stay here. The hotel is very near to the archeological park. We had two large rooms overlooking the lake. Beautiful sunrise in de morning. Mongoose, squirrels and many types of birds visible from our window. Very friendly and helpful staff. My son went fishing on the lake and the cook prepared us a very nice lunch, one of the best we enjoyed in Sri Lanka. There is a nice pool also. All was well, nothing to complain about.

• Gabriele (10/5): - Wunderschöner Pool und gesamte Anlage gepflegt. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und bemüht. Zimmer groß, alle mit Aussicht auf den See, sauber und leiser Klimaanlage. Es gibt auch ein Restaurant für Dinner, so dass wir am Abend nach einem langen Tag nicht mehr wieder weg mussten zum Essen. Frühstück auch sehr gut. Alles top.

• Sara (8/5): - El jardín, la piscina y el entorno son fantásticos. El personal nos gestionó poder realizar un safari en Minneriya que fue fabuloso. En la habitación se colaron algunos huéspedes inesperados que, aunque no resultaron un grave problema, no eran agradables. Tales huéspedes fueron unas cuantas salamanquesas y una enorme cucaracha. La electricidad se fue en todo la finca en varias ocasiones durante unos minutos.

Non abbiamo dormito molto a causa del rumore provocato dalla moltitudine di corvi presenti nel giardino + locali che hanno organizzato un party in riva al fiume appena fuori dalla staccionata dell hotel. Struttura ancora in costruzione non ultimata

• Nilani (9/5): - Words cannot explain the beauty of the location. It was mesmerizing. Most of the time of our stay, there were wild elephants leisurely eating by the lake was the view from our room. The room is quite spacious, clean, and peaceful. The staff was really helpful. The bathroom was clean and spacious with hot water. The pool by the lake is also clean and a nice chilling place surrounded by various types of birds, squirrels, and mongooses. Just constructively saying, since we loved the place a lot. The pillows were bumpy and not comfortable. The server did not ask about the food choice and just delivered the food to the table. Since we are lacto-ovo vegetarians, we had food on the plate that we don't eat. He could have asked and arranged. Those you can correct easily.
• Marie-Haude (10/5): - Magnifique ! On a adoré, c'est un lieu magique où on passerait des heures à observer les écureuils et mangoustes dans le jardin, à voir passer au loin les éléphants sur le bord du lac et à profiter de la vue incroyable. Le mobilier de jardin a bien vieilli et manque de charme.
