Everything you need is there and very well thought out. Opened the door to sit outside to have coffee and was greeted, face-to-face by Lorenzo! Very relaxing, peaceful setting. The hosts thought of everything!!

Our stay included a complimentary bottle of wine, a kitchenette with homemade cinnamon rolls & bkfst puff pastry, plus plenty of thoughtful snacks. The scenery was peaceful and we spent several mornings on the covered front porch watching the sun come up. Plenty of deer everywhere, but the super cool thing was the llama with it's 2 donkey friends that would come by for a daily visit. The owners supplied a treat bag in our room so we could feed them. Overall, we plan to revisit this gem again when in the area.

- Norma jean (10/5): Great getaway in the hill country - Very good breakfast with great juice and coffee selection, a bottle of red wine, cute home with nice decor, fun mini donkeys and llama greeters (owner provided a bag of animal treats which our greeters appreciated). It is away from it all but five minutes from Bankersmith, a honkytonk with excellent food truck and live music. Everything great but only had one fork and one knife, but plenty of spoons! We had traveled with some plastic ware so it was fine.

The accommodations were nice and the added wine and animal treats was a very nice touch. We enjoyed the hot tub and the snacks and breakfast were great! We greatly appreciated the extra fans in the room to help with cooling during the summer heat. We had a question and texted the owners who were very responsive. The water pressure in the shower was not good but other than that, there were no complaints!
- federica (8/5): Amazing stay at the barn - The house is super cozy, clean and in a great location. Breakfast was really great, and we loved finding a bottle of wine to taste the local grapes. Feeding the animals was pretty fun too! The hot tup should have some rules on max time allowed. Since it is shared by all guests, it is difficult to use if some of them are not respectful of others and use it for themselves for the entire time.

The mattress needs replacing or a foam pad added.

I also loved that they had a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and they provided the bubbles. The small kitchenette was excellent for heating food. I learned how to use a small egg cooker to make boiled eggs! The breakfast items and snacks came in handy since we were unprepared. I assumed we were going to be near a restaurant. We loved our stay and Lorenzo the llama made it extra special. He would come every morning to knock at our door for some treats. We enjoyed our time around the fire at night and grilled delicious steaks for dinner. I would recommend A Barn at the Quarry to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy nature with their family. I was aware of the water's smell and taste but did not think it would bother me. Well, I did not like how I felt after showering or the smell of the tap water. Everything else was awesome!

The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was awesome and supplied with everything to have a relaxing bath. The provided food was delicious. My only complaint was the eggs were bad and there was an open container of milk and juice in the fridge. I suggest checking the fridge when you restock for the next guest. I recommend and will visit again.

Personally, it was a hard sitting outside to enjoy the view and to read, having the animals coming up for snacks. (As you can tell I’m not an animal lover ;)

- Brotherton (10/5): It was a fantastic experience and we highly recommend it. - The food provided was plentiful, delicious and diverse. There was more than enough for breakfasts and snacks during our entire three night stay. I loved the decor. We were very comfortable in the cabin. The hosts provided written material about the area and things to see and do. They thought of everything we could possibly need. Cookie, the cow, and I had a couple nice chats in the mornings. Lorenzo, the llama, stayed aloof until our last evening when we met him and the donkeys in person, but what fun. We slept very soundly and enjoyed walking around the property and reading on the front porch. If we had gotten any more relaxed, we'd have slipped into a coma. While I loved having my first bath in a claw foot tub, future guests might need to know that if you're under 5'7" or over 75 years old, they, and the attached shower, are hard to get into and out of. We stayed in the Gold Cabin.
- Lauren (6/5): Not worth the price - Upon arriving at the property, which is definitely "off the beaten path" we encountered pretty tight parking, with 1 other guest parked near us. We found our cabin relatively easy and were able to access the room pretty easy. The room is smaller than the pictures advertise and we also discovered our neighbors presence upstairs after we settled into a chair and started getting unpacked. As we continued navigating our way around the room and attached bathroom we noticed several things. First off, many of the snacks at the bar were expired. The bottle of wine was from California. The tv took forever to turn on and never able to get the cable box to fully power up and so the screen just stayed black. At shower time, my bf noticed the shower head was terrible and the water pressure and spray are very poor. The shower head sprays in a single, 1 ½inch sized stream. When it was my turn, I wanted a jetted bath, but the bubble bath that was set out for use was completely empty. My boyfriend and I also noticed the toilet seat was very lose and also very small. As the night went on we enjoyed the peacefulness, but that was never fully enjoyable as the room got very hot and stuffy. We could never figure out the a/c and, of course there's no ceiling fan and so we finally decided on the short floor stand fan that was in a corner of the room. It blew a moderate amount of air our direction. Overall, I probably wouldn't book this B&B again. However, the donkeys are super friendly and sweet.

I would come back in a heartbeat. I can only think of one thing I would change about this property, and that would be the air conditioner. My husband and I have a hard time sleeping without a cool air conditioner and despite putting it on 68 it really didn’t work well. Nonetheless we were able to make do with a fan but didn’t sleep our best.

- Connie (10/5): We loved the hospitality and charm of this quaint Hill Country bed and breakfast - This property provided us a wonderful and relaxing weekend getaway. We love the Fredericksburg area but staying in town is too much hustle and bustle due to the amount of visitors to Fredericksburg. A Barn at the Quarry is quiet and serene and just far enough out of town to feel very secluded. No complaints!

- John (8/5): Nice. - You prepare your own breakfast of heat and eat items. For the price of the room expected a little more than that. Very hard to find at night. Out in the boonies with no signage telling you where to turn. No lighting on roads. Loose live stock to look out for while driving.
