• Heather (10/5): Best place to stay in Quito! - Kinde House is in an ideal location for exploring Quito. The hosts provide excellent and prompt communication. They helped me coordinate pickup from the airport very late at night at a great price. I am a solo female traveler and felt very safe. Check-in was smooth and I was given a complimentary room upgrade upon my arrival! My room was spotless, and had a rainfall shower-head with hot water and smart TV with Netflix. Bottled water, tea, and coffee were also available in the kitchen. The staff at Kinde House deserve more than 5 stars. Everyone is incredibly caring, kind, and willing to assist with anything you need! In addition to booking my transfers they helped me with information about local activities, restaurants, and helped me recover when I became sick from the altitude. Breakfast was included and it is the best breakfast I have had in ANY accommodation. Big portions of fruit, breads, eggs, cheeses, tea, coffee, and a different local specialty each morning. It was made it to order at a time of my choosing each day. I would happily stay here again. Thank you, I hope to stay again in the future!

Eduardo very helpful in choosing destinations for enjoying the city, but also in best walking paths to avoid many steep hills. In close proximity to Old City. Eduardo offered transportation to and from the airport which was efficient, kind knowledgeable driver.

• Kurt (10/5): Stay here, especially first time in Quito - Eduardo was the most helpful host I have ever had. Breakfast was a custom affair, where you set the time and what you would like the night before. The terrace has a nice view. There is a guest kitchen with beer and Cokes available. The location is a compromise: just outside the main old town, but quiet. Not super close to tourist restaurants, but close to locals. You have to walk up a hill, but get good views.
• Richard (10/5): Nice Place to Stay in Quito - It is a very clean, comfortable, and quiet place to stay in Quito on a quiet street about a five minute walk to the historical part of the city. My room had a comfortable bed and nice hot water in the bathroom sink and shower. Breakfast every morning is delicious and cooked to order. Eduardo the owner is extremely helpful with any information and helped me determine my next destination in Ecuador along with telling me about some nice places to see in Quito.

• Peter (10/5): We had a lovely stay at Kinde House and would recommend it. - Eduardo was incredibly friendly and helpful and was always keen for a chat. He encouraged us to look at a couple of rooms and select which one we’d prefer. He also allowed us to check out late as we had an overnight flight. Our breakfasts were delightful and included freshly squeezed juices, fruit, bread rolls and eggs made to order. Our room was pleasant with a comfortable bed, good wifi and a hot shower. It was easy to get an Uber to anywhere we wanted to go. Eduardo also organised a ride to and from the airport for us. Kinde House is an easy walk to the centre of town, but you’d need transport (uber/taxi) to get to the main tourist areas. The room didn’t have a lot of natural light and was slightly cool (no heating in room), but the bedding was fantastic and we never felt cold in bed. We had a problem paying for the room with any of our cards but Eduardo patiently waited until we could withdraw cash from the bank.
• Rita (10/5): Beautiful place to stay in Quito - Absolutely impeccable place. The family who own this gem are kind and so helpful. This house has impeccable rooms, hot showers and a beautiful rooftop where you can relax and overlook Quito. When we return we would not consider staying anywhere but here. I can’t end this review without speaking of the breakfast - it is made to order , hearty and excellent. We left early in the morning for a tour - an excellent breakfast and was provided. I can’t recommend this place enough…… We loved everything

He arranged for me a taxi, waiting for me at the airport, which was very important after the long flight. Everyday I ha amazing breakfast. Aux petits soins avec ses hôtes et même en dehors des horaires standard. Il est charmant et serviable, plein de bons conseils. Il nous a rendu un très grand service (oubli de vêtements) et il s'est déplacé pour récupérer le colis 3 heures avant notre vol retour. Chambre pas très grande mais fonctionnelle (un coffre), belle déco ... des colibris. Bouteilles d'eau à dispo Kitchenette à l'extérieur de la chambre. Eau gratuite à disposition Le petit déjeuner avec jus de fruits FRAIS différent chaque jour délicieux, copieux, de qualité et fait maison. Eduardo nous a mis en relation avec un chauffeur de taxi adorable (Juan) qui est venu nous chercher à l'aéroport le 1er soir à minuit trente cinq ! et qui nous a accompagnées régulièrement dans la suite du séjour. Nous recommandons cet établissement à 200%. Il fait partie de nos adresses préférées en Equateur. -
• Sveta (10/5): Para sentirse como en casa en el corazón de Quito - Todo estuvo espectacular. 1. Ubicación: en pleno centro histórico, a solo 3 minutos caminando de la estación Marín Central (desde ahí es muy cómodo moverse por la ciudad, incluso ir a Ofelia para tomar el bus a la Mitad del Mundo). Al lado hay un mercado con una gran variedad de frutas, tiendas y el punto de encuentro para el free walking tour por el centro. 2. La habitación: muy limpia, la cama es súper cómoda y la ducha tiene abundante agua caliente. 3. Desayunos espectaculares: diferentes tipos de tortilla francesa (puedes elegir), siempre frutas variadas, jugos recién exprimidos, empanadillas y bollería. 4. El personal: lo mejor. Eduardo es muy amable y atento; siempre ayuda, da consejos y recomendaciones sobre qué visitar, horarios de eventos… de todo. Angelita cocina delicioso. Ambos son personas muy lindas. Me sentí como en casa. 5. A pesar de estar prácticamente en el centro histórico, la calle donde se encuentra el hotel es muy tranquila y segura, sin ruidos por la noche.

• Jan (10/5): S Ubytováním a celým pobytem v Kinde House jsme byli naprosto spokojeni. Vřele doporučujeme. - Snídaně byla moc dobrá, každý den jiný džus, ovoce, vajíčka, čerstvé pečivo. Krásný výhled z terasy. Do centra pěšky 10.minut. Není nic co by se nám nelíbilo. Eduardo byl skvělý hostitel a co jsme potřebovali, to zařídil, poradil.

The accommodation was very comfortable, the breakfasts were truly amazing & Eduardo was a fabulous host. He gave us his WhatsApp number & was always available for any questions or advice. • Joni (10/5): Geweldige uitvalbasis voor Quito - Eduardo regelde een airport pickup voor ons en dat verliep perfect. Eenmaal aangekomen bij Kinde House werden we vriendelijk ontvangen door Eduardo. Hij gaf ons allerlei tips en was erg aardig! De kamer is geweldig, super schoon en een toplocatie om Quito te ontdekken. We deden de Free Walking Tour aan het einde van de straat, een aanrader. Het ontbijt was beide dagen perfect en het huis is gezellig en schoon. De rooftop biedt een prachtig uitzicht over de stad. We raden deze plek daarom aan iedereen aan!

Going to downtown takes 10 min walk or cost 1.5 dollar with uber. I reccomend you to book with breakfast. The eggs were one of the best I’ve ever eat. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Power for chargers are also suitable for European type I’m sure you will be pleased to stay with them☺️❤️ —

El desayuno es muy bueno y variado, con frutas, café, refresco natural, huevo y empanadas verdes. • Kristijan (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stay at Kinde House. Very quiet and safe location with private parking. Big room, very comfortable beds, great breakfast. Host Edoardo is very hospitable, friendly and helps with everything you need. Drinking water, coffee and tea are available all the time for free, which is definitely a plus. The accommodation has a large rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of Quito and is about a 10 minute walk from the old town. Definitely recommend, 10/10.

Lovely room, really good bed and owners helped with everything I needed. They let me use my room until I was leaving, well past check out time.

Eduardo is very helpful with recommendations on where to eat and which streets are well lit for walking. He recommends when to walk and when to take a taxi/Uber. He also arranged for a seamless airport/hotel transfer. The breakfast is home cooked each morning and includes fresh fruit, fresh juice, eggs, pastry, cold cut meat, empanadas, and coffee/tea. It lasts me all day. This hotel has a stunning roof top view of the city. I liked everything at this hotel.

• Mary (10/5): Best place you could stay in the Historical Quito district - The breakfast was superb. More than I could eat; excellent quality; fresh and yummy. The staff - Eduardo and Veronica - and their parents - were so helpful with anything I needed. They gave great suggestions and were there for me anytime needed. The room was quiet, you could use the refrig and make yourself a cup of coffee or tea whenever you wanted; they would provide laundry service if you wanted. I can't imagine a better place. I also liked that it was located only a few blocks from the historical district - an easy walk there and back. Perfect for my needs. Honestly, I can't think of anything they could improve.

• Eeva (10/5): Eduardo of KindeHaus is the soul of Ecuador - Eduardo of KindeHaus has been praised by everybody in the ratings. I am proud and happy to join his fanclub now, too. For me he is the soul of Ecuador, my first contact in that superb country, in Quito, who gave me a wonderful introduction to this marvellous corner in the world. I stayed at his place 11-16.1.2025 and loved every moment. KindeHaus is so homely, cozy and comfortable. And the breakfast served by far the best in the whole country. Such a variety of fruits, smoothies, omelets, pastries, empanadas, bread, butter, cheese, jam, superb coffee... He also has a visitor's kitchen with filter water and a fridge loaded with icecold beer, which a guest can happily enjoy eg. in the beautiful upstairs terrace. Eduardo is so helpful, kind and capable in everything. He eg helps you to get a local sim card, Netflix to your room, takes care of your laundry and is even helping you to clean the mess, which the local thiefs can cause: they throw some dirt on you and then try to rush to clean you from your belongings. They did not luckily get anything from me, and Eduardo cleaned the rest! The location of KindeHaus is also great: near the historic centre. You only avoid a couple of nearby streets after the dark. Ubertaxis are efficient and very cheap, however. Eduardo told that many guests of KindeHaus have returned and some even several times. I am surely going to be one of them, in the future, too. Thank you Eduardo for all!

The rooms are spacious and very clean, there is a kitchen where you can make yourself a tea or coffee, slice your fruit.... The owners are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is amazing. As a solo traveller, I got all the information I needed and felt welcomed and safe. I highly recommend this place😊

• Amanda (8/5): Quito - Staff are excellent and I was upgraded to a bigger room which was very nice and quiet. Very helpful with transfer for airport. Breakfast is good with a packed one available when leaving early. I think it would be great to have a solar powered lantern like those used for camping in each room for power black outs. Wifi was still available which was great but some better light than a cellphone would be good.

The service was excellent, and the breakfast was amazing. As a vegetarian, I appreciated how they thoughtfully accommodated my dietary restrictions. Eduardo, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure my stay was pleasant. During a power outage, he gave me a fully charged power bank to keep my phone operational, which was incredibly thoughtful. He also stayed in touch with me via WhatsApp to ensure I had everything I needed. I highly recommend Kinde House to anyone looking for a welcoming place to stay with exceptional service.

• Laura (10/5): We enjoyed our stay at Kinde House. - The Old Town location places Kinde House within a short walk of the beautiful cathedrals and Eduardo helps with directions so there's not too much up and down on the hills. He also shared suggested attraction/destination location information through WhatsApp so we had other options to consider seeing while in Quito. The breakfast was wonderful - eggs, fruit, bread, empanada, and fabulous juice and coffee. Kinde House is finishing construction of a nice rooftop dining/gathering area. Eduardo took us up so we could relax there and enjoy the view at night. We arranged for airport pickup and drop off through Eduardo. Juan was waiting for us with my name on a sign when we arrived in Quito and drove us back to the airport for our late flight back home. Could not have gone more smoothly. Exceptional. Everything was great.

Room was nice and spacious with good storage space. Bathroom was clean. Laundry service was offered. Lovely terrace to view the city and take photos. It's a family-run property. Manager was very informative when I checked in. The printed city map was much appreciated. Easy walk to Old City and Independence Plaza aka Plaza Grande where the President's Palace is located. Many churches, museums and historic buildings are located close to the Plaza. There is a great food court on one side of the Plaza as well. The stunning neo-gothic Basilica is also in walking distance. The bus station and brand new Metro are close by. Several dining options close by. I especially liked Jumandy Organic Garden cafe. Payment by credit card didn't work even though I had been using the c/c at various other businesses in Quito. Hot water for showering was sporadic.

Very quiet and safe to walk in the evenings. The fourth floor balcony had fabulous views of the city. Our host, Eduardo was so helpful and attentive.

Excellent breakfasts with local dishes included and fresh juices. Eduardo was always available for advice and help. Property was near to some local, friendly bars and simple restaurants.

Always with kindness and patience. The breakfast Monserat served us was different each day and always delicious. The location of the guesthouse is in walking distance of everything. Only when we went to the bus station did we use Uber. Uber costed 6 dollars for 30 minute trip. Don't hesitate to stay in this quiet, comfortable location, with unbeatable service. All was great.

• Simona (10/5): Excellent stay with warm people who make you feel at home in Quito. - Kinde House is a beautifully arranged, cosy hotel 10 min. walk from the most important attractions in the Historic center of Quito. The room had everything one could need. But the best of the best is the way I was helped for everything I needed, from arranging transport to finding my way for the museums, etc. I received the warmest reception and valuable advices. The breakfast was always excellent and I tried many local delices. Eduardo was always at disposal for any possible need. I had a relaxing vacation and a busy tourist program at the same time. One can also enjoy the terraces. The WiFi was excellent. Really, I cannot find anything that was not good.

It felt like I was at home everything was good we had a couple of markets close by for food and water which was good we also had a nice rooftop with a beautiful view which was super nice. They provided great customer service and made sure everything was perfect and asked me if I needed anything. They even changed my room when I had a small issue they are great at making sure the customers have the best service possible highly recommend. The only thing I didn’t like was the bed it was kinda uncomfortable the first day and a little bit of the noise other then that it was an amazing stay.

This is our 2nd visit after a four day jungle trip. Im addition to the previous review I can add that we were super happy to arrive back here. Our bus was delayed 1,5 hours so we came at 12:30 AM. Nevertheless we were welcomed and brought to our super comfy room. The express laundry service again helped us with our travels and we could finally catch up with much needed sleep. For more info read my previous post. In a nutshell: the hospitality and friendliness is one of a kind. The accommodation is perfect.
• Stephan (10/5): If you want high quality, friendly service and a clean, comfy and quiet place with unbeatable value for price, than you - Kinde House is a real gem with an unbeatable value for price. I don’t even know where to start. Eduardo, who manages the hotel, is very friendly and helps you with any questions you might have. He even enabled us a late check-out at 11 PM! as we traveled overnight. The breakfast is delicious and diverse always with some fresh fruits or juices. It’s also small things like water in your room upon arrival. oh … and we used the super fast laundry service two times; very professional. Our room was comfortable clean and cozy and had optional heating. Compared to other (backpacker)hostels, Kinde house is quiet, and hence relaxing. They have a super nice roof terrace too. I traveled a fare share already, but rarely encountered such a high level service and hospitality. The accommodation is perfect.

We had nothing to worry about. He took care of everything! Breakfast was great! Eduardo recommended us a walking tour around the historic center. We enjoyed this tour so much! Everything was excellent including the location, room, breakfast, Eduardo's advice what to see.

Eduardo was very welcoming and made check-in/check-out easy. He was accommodating to our needs and gave us recommendations for places to see in the city. If we had questions, he was prompt in responding via WhatsApp. The location is perfect for exploring Quito Old Town by foot, taxi, or Uber. We slept well and it was quiet considering it's proximity to the city. The breakfast each morning was exquisite and we looked forward to it each day!
