Also, there are no fans near the tables and it gets very hot, so it’s a bit uncomfortable to have breakfast without fans nearby.

- Kamil (9/5): Super na zwiedzanie wyspy :) - Świetna obsługa, każda nasza prośba była załatwiona od ręki i na najwyższym poziomie. Klimat basenu i baru nad basenem jest niepowtarzalny. Herbert (tak sądzę, bo w sumie nie wymieniliśmy się imionami) i Jack sprawiają że hotel ma duszę i poza fajnym poziomem pojawia się serdeczność i humor. Blisko lotniska. Po wyjeździe nie mogłem zasnąć bo nie słyszałem samolotów. Trochę na uboczu, ale rekompensował to ceną.

За мангровыми зарослями находится взлетно-посадочная полоса. Самолеты начинают летать с 8 утра до 7 вечера Во-первых, часть корпусов находится рядом со строящимся корпусом. Весь этаж, стены, двери или балкон номера усыпаны строительным мусором и цементом. Я хотела посидеть на балконе, а он весь в грязи и с видом на стройку. Доступ к стройке вообще не контролируется, туда может попасть любой человек. Во-вторых, это было ужасно, но у нас в номере срабатывала пожарная сигнализация каждые 15 минут в течение 4 часов с 8 вечера до полуночи и орала она на весь корпус. И в это время на территории отеля не было ни одного работника, а ресепшен вообще был закрыт. Хотя при заселении нам дали номер для связи с ресепшн по WhatsApp, и сказали, что также можно звонить из комнаты в любое время. Кстати, в комнате телефон был не подключен к сети. На WhatsApp на звонки и сообщения никто не отвечал. То есть ситуацию никак не решить.

- Yoav (3/5): This hotel delivers the quality of a basic hostel at a luxury price. We will not be returning and cannot recommend it to - A very disappointing experience – High price for poor service and maintenance We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and left feeling extremely frustrated. For the high price we paid, we expected a premium experience, but instead, we received sub-par service and poor facilities. 1. Lack of Privacy & Noise: The rooms have thin connecting doors that offer zero soundproofing. We could hear every conversation and movement from our neighbors, which was very intrusive. Furthermore, we were told by reception that there was no construction nearby, only to be woken up at 7:00 AM by loud drilling and renovation noise right next to our room. 2. Cleanliness & Maintenance: Our room was visibly dirty upon arrival. The pool area, which we were looking forward to, was so poorly maintained and dirty that it was unpleasant to even sit there, let alone swim. 3. Poor Service: When we complained about the noise and the state of the room, the staff seemed lost and unhelpful. Eventually, they agreed to move us to a different room, but when we asked for help moving our luggage, they simply said they "didn't have enough manpower" to assist us. This is unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. 4. Facilities & Breakfast: The gym felt like a crowded local public gym rather than a private hotel facility. As for breakfast, it was very underwhelming; many items listed on the menu were unavailable every single morning, and the overall food quality was disappointing.

- Roberta (7/5): Definitely a 2 star. The staff was very helpful. - I had a 2 bedroom unit and a 1 bedroom with sofa bed. The 2 bedroom was very spacious, clean and beds comfortable. The 1 bedroom with sofa bed was clean. But this unit did not have a sofa bed, it was a futon. Very uncomfortable for sleeping on. Bedding and towels were changed daily if you wanted. Pool furniture was very much lacking. Only 2 chairs that were not broken. All the rest of chairs had broken arms on them. The lounge chairs were definitely needing to be replaced. All 8 of them. Water pressure was quite low. I had rented 2 units in 2 different buildings. One building had no water for a day and a half. No notice given. Kitchen was poorly equipped. Very hard to cook in the room as very few baking dishes, cook sheets and utensils.

- Shelley (6/5): Beware the building work. - Initially we were shown to a room in Fleet (F) block. The room & balcony were swamped by the building being built exactly adjacent. All grey concrete. No other view!!! That was all you could see. Thankfully we were upgraded to another room. Graziela was very professional & realistic. Best Western should not accept bookings for these rooms while building work is in progress in 2026! The pool area is nice & the location is great for the Belize City ferry. The airport is adjacent which is also fun if you like planes. Staff are really friendly & helpful. Do check where your room is located. Avoid Fleet block in 2026!
- Brett (8/5): I vas very happy with most aspects of the property. - Herbert and Jack were great hosts at the pool bar. The pool is terrific. The proximity to restaurants and dive shops is great. With a futon for a sofa / couch, and wooden stools, there wasn't anywhere comfortable to sit in my room. The noise - constant phlegmy throat clearing from the person next door was clearly audible. Despite Herbert's best efforts, a buffet style continental breakfast would be great.

- Vonnetta (3/5): What should have been a relaxing and enjoyable birthday weekend turned into a frustrating experience - On the upside, the room was thoughtfully decorated for my birthday, which I truly appreciated. There were balloons and a birthday card waiting for me upon arrival, and that small gesture did not go unnoticed. It showed that the staff made some effort to acknowledge the occasion, which added a personal and welcoming touch. However, despite this kind detail, the overall experience fell short. During my stay at Best Western Grand Baymen Gardens, I was highly disappointed by several issues that negatively impacted my experience. First and foremost, the pricing was misleading although my booking confirmation stated a total of $261.90, I was unexpectedly charged $311.66 upon arrival. The invoice further added to the confusion, labeling the extra amount inconsistently as both “commission” and “tax,” with no clear explanation. Additionally, several services listed in the booking were not honored. Breakfast was only provided for two guests despite a reservation for three, and the advertised free bike rental was unavailable. Only two small bottles of water were provided in the room, and when I requested one for the third guest, I was told it was limited to two people. As for the room itself, the main bed was uncomfortable and “squeezy,” while the sofa bed was surprisingly more comfortable which is not acceptable when the main sleeping arrangement falls short. These combined issues from poor price transparency to misrepresented services created an experience that felt both disappointing and unprofessional.

The rooms were also clean and bed was comfy. The only consistently positive experience was Jack’s Pool Bar—the coffee was awful, but the scrambled eggs were great, and the two men working there were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end, and I would not recommend this property based on our experience. Upon arrival on December 28, 2025, the front desk staff member we encountered was unfriendly and unhelpful. Every question was met with attitude, as if we were inconveniencing her. We immediately asked about a room change because my friend and I were sharing a bed and hoped to move to a room with two beds. We were told “maybe tomorrow” due to checkouts—but that never happened, despite asking daily. Our assigned room was in Building F, all the way in the back of the property. This area felt run-down and was directly next to an abandoned, partially destroyed building that appeared unsafe and was being occupied by squatters, complete with tents and clotheslines. This was extremely uncomfortable. The walls are paper-thin. On our first night, we could hear every detail of the couple next door having sex—it felt like we were in the room with them. Sleep was impossible. To make matters worse, for four consecutive mornings, guests staying above us decided that 4:00 AM was party time—music, singing, dancing, loud conversations, and laughing. We complained multiple times. Reception claimed they spoke to the guests, but the behavior continued—just without music. The noise never stopped. Other ongoing issues: * When it rains, the entrance to the rooms floods * Pool towels were often unavailable until the afternoon because they “needed to be washed and dried” * If housekeeping came while you were in the room, they never returned * Requests for clean towels resulted in washcloths and hand towels only—no bath towels * The elevator was broken, requiring luggage to be carried up 2–3 flights of stairs * When we asked to contact security at 4:00 AM due to noise, we were told we’d have to go find him ourselves * * The pool was essentially unusable; no one used it * What appeared to once be a pool bar and hot tub are now just two large empty holes. Overall extremely disappointingdespite the great location, poor management, lack of responsiveness, noise issues, and neglected facilities.

We had to go into reception 3 times to get our key cards reactivated to enter our room. Even resulting in one occasion where we had to climb the balconies to get into our room later at night when reception was closed.

- Sonia (8/5): Good friendly hotel - We got a little apartment, it was spacious and clean with all facilities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool was big and clean. Location was ok but you need a golf buggy to move around the island. The hotel sorted this out for us. Laundry service was very good. Our room was cleaned every day. The corridors taking us to our apartment was FULl of mosquitoes, I cannot emphasize how awful that was, it really needs to be fumigated regularly. The shower was hard to get the temperature right, it was too hot. Noisy AC.

- Jacquis (10/5): Anniversary trip that was everything!! - The staff from reception to security were super friendly. The breakfast was made to order, fresh and delicious. The location is perfect. Its close to the ferry port and all the tasty restaurants. Theres even a little store to buy water and a few groceries for the full kitchen in our room. Our balcony looked over the pools on the property. We can see the planes go by as we werent far from Tropic Air airport. Will definitey stay here again.

- Monica (8/5): Rooms were very comfotbale and exceptionally clean - We had a very comfortable stay at the Best Western Grand Baymen Gardens. The rooms were spotless and have been very well maintained. The wood finishings in all the rooms were beautiful. The staff was accommodating and helpful, especially as we tried to obtain a golf buggy at the last minute, which was almost impossible on the Island! We did not realize that it was adjacent to the airstrip. In reality, this did not affect us during sleep times. It was a little bit further from the main town centre than we expected!

- Todd (10/5): - Well, the property was originally built years ago. New owners are really trying to bring the property up-to-date. There is building going on on the site. They are improving and making more rooms for guest overall great stay.
- Rowen (6/5): Large rooms but there are much better places in San Pedro with nicer facilities and value for money - Large rooms with good living room and kitchen. The gardens are pretty but need to be landscaped so they don’t flood. The access to the pool was flooded most of the time. Noise carried - we heard every cough and noise from the guy next door which was not fun. The tiling throughout should also be updated to be anti-slip, we slipped many times.
- Alexander (7/5): Accomodation and staff were great but everything else made it hard to look past the stay. - I did like that it was close enough to the main that I was able to travel not more than 10 minutes and be at the water taxi and other restaurants. The rooms were also great and the complimentary breakfast was great. Upon reaching, the staff was great and I enjoyed the great customer service/hospitality. However, we were at the last building on the compound and we were on the 4th floor... Their elevator was not functional for the entire stay so it did not bode well given that we had to go up and down several times with our luggage which was an inconvenience. There were also plenty of mosquitos so I felt that there could have been something done about that. The eating area was a bit small so given it was raining a lot, there wasn't much accommodation and it got flooded pretty quickly... Lastly, noise pollution... We were right beside the building that was still being constructed so that wasn't all that great and given that the airport is nearby, you can almost always hear the planes coming and going. I could look past the airport as that wasn't an issue but that combined with the construction wasn't all that great.

The room was somewhat small….there were lot of puddles of water around the property. Below par breakfast. I even found a cockroach in my backpack that was left in the room while we were out.
