Guest Reviews
- George (10/5): -

The house was beautiful and the rooms were clean and well maintained. I think the upstairs (including the stairs) need to be carpeted to help with noise.

- Jeffrey (6/5): - Cobwebs in bathroom- toilet needs work, won’t cut off on its own. Stairs are dangerous but we knew that from before however we didn’t know if our room was upstairs. Could not get the tv to work, no directions. No ice for am. The laminated sheet of tv channels is gross. Information tablet is WAY out of date and useless. Bed comfortable, nice bathroom

We added a day to our stay because we enjoyed it so much. The bed and bedding were so comfortable. Best sleep I've had on our travels thus far. The town and location was delightful as well. Hope we can stay here again in the future.
- Steele (10/5): Exceptional - Location is perfect if you're taking in a show at The Harvester. The house is absolutely beautiful. No breakfast.

- Kerry (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- JON (2/5): - Place was dark and empty. No human presence at all. Spooky. And they'd failed to send entry codes in timely manner so we couldn't open door. Since we were abandoned we found other lodging and will expect complete refund. Horrible experience. STAY ELSEWHERE
- Charlene (10/5): Perfect location in a beautiful home - Such a great experience in an historic home. We loved the proximity to the Harvester Performance Center since we were in town for a concert.
- Tiwan (10/5): - The pictures don’t do justice. Beautiful place, large room and private bathroom. Bryan was a great host. Note that it’s a “bed, NO breakfast”, but there’s a little burger place literally across the street that serves a tasty and reasonably priced breakfast.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Excellent property and management! Truly great, cozy spot
- Ruth (10/5): - I enjoyed staying at the Early Inn so much! Brian was a wonderful host. The room was beautiful and took me back in time! It was in walking distance of several places including The Harvestor where we saw the show. There was a great restaurant The Rocky Mount Burger Company! So much more. I highly recommend The Early Inn.
- Randy (10/5): Wonderful stay in comfortable, beautiful historic home! - This is a beautiful, historic property located within easy walking distance of the Harvester Center, where we attended a concert. Our room was expansive, beautiful and comfortable. Why stay at a hotel when this historic home/inn is available? We are soooooooooo glad hotels were booked and we had to stay here! Thank you, Brian, for great, friendly check in service, and ensuring our stay was GREAT! Everything was WONDERFUL! We loved everything!
- Heather (10/5): - Our room is beautiful! Can't wait to soak in tub! Bryan was super nice and showed us around when we first checked in, giving us all the details on great places to eat & drink within walking distance if the inn. Love it!
- Marcia (7/5): Odd set up. Apparently property iz for sale and current owner does not want to be involved in innjeepung. Seem lujd the - Interesting place Great potential Absence of staff Moreblike an absent owner AirBnB No human contact Odd rules

- Celia (10/5): - Excelente estadía y cerca de todo. La mejor opción de estar en el pueblo
- Tiffany (8/5): - It was very beautiful place to stay. I wished the bathroom had been in the room, but all in it was good!
- Bobbitt (2/5): Try bleach or non odor on your washables - Bed No breakfast with meh snacks.
Location great right across the street from the Harvester Smelled like fabreze was sprayed on the bed This could be very toxic to people.
Also there were no blackout curtains and a large transom where the room was lit up like the full moon
- william (10/5): - A quaint early 1900s setting. Spacious and well appointed. Lovely bedroom and bathroom, very comfy bed.
Snacks and beverages always available as well as coffee and tea. A wonderful place to stay whether a couple or a group of friends.
Host as welcoming and engaged.
- Edward P (10/5): - Everything was great.
- paul (10/5): - The historical aspect & decor were wonderful. The owner was nice. Lovely rooms. Property was beautiful.
Just be aware that it really is not a bed and breakfast as food was not available in the morning. Coffee was.
- Steven (10/5): - Awesome old historic inn built in 1850-1854. We loved our room and the hospitality!
- Joyce (9/5): Would stay again without hesitation if we are in the area again! - The location was wonderful and great for walking a dog. Lovely lovely home! So glad it was an option for us during our travel. Host and guests (!) were welcoming and made us feel much more comfortable with our choice. No breakfast. An English muffin would have been nice.
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Brian was very hospitable. He rook the time to make sure everything was how we liked. Such a charming bed & breakfast. The location was perfect for us to walk to the Harvester Performance Center and local restaurants. I will be recommending The Early Inn and it’s wonderful staff!
- jessica (10/5): - Such a beautiful house!! So sad we only had a short night here, but we will definitely be back. It was an Amazing room, and the check in was super easy for self check in.
10/10 recommend!
- Rick (10/5): Historical Inn’s are always interesting. - historic location’s are always interesting. This one has a great story the suite was roomy and the bathroom larger than you would expect in a historic building.
Suggestion: Arrive during daylight. It’s tough to find the little driveway in a dimly lit street.
Not very tech established for plug in’s, so bring adapters.
The property also owns the “Burger” location across the street which they give a $5 discount for breakfast at the location, opens after 8:30am though.
- Chris (6/5): Pleasant - Location
Comfort It's closed
It's for sale
No staff on site
- Tj (9/5): Great venue , beautiful inn and very comfortable. 10 out of 10 - We didn’t have breakfast . Rooms were spacious and very clean. The facility was wide open and very accessible . The shower was awesome . Beautiful and relaxing The only thing was I wish we could have had more drink options in the mini fridge like a bigger selection beside soda . There are not many stores in walking distance that were open
- Diane (10/5): Great stay! - Great place!
Nice, quiet and private. If you are going to The Harvester the location can't be beat
- Kenneth (10/5): - What an awesome place to stay. Great history and a quiet place and area.
- Camilla (10/5): Wonderful stay in a lovely town. - Wonderful host and wonderful facility. N/A
- Kevin (10/5): - Beautiful!
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (10/5): - Brian was great and very helpful
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Historic B&B in a beautiful setting - This is my second stay at Early Inn. What a beautiful piece of history that has been preserved in this home I will 100% stay here again.
- Alice (10/5): The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Host was extremely accommodating. - Food and staff at Hamburger Co right across the street were great. Live music made for a nice end to the day. Grounds pretty so nice for a walk. Enjoyed sitting outside sipping on my tea.
- Christopher (10/5): Beautiful B&B - I will stay again. Like stepping back in time.
- Jean (5/5): Sounded good online, really wanted to like it, but the reality was disappointing. - Lovely location. There was a painfully obvious amount of deferred maintenance. Everything looked clean on the surface, but the hairs in the tub, worn gasket so a bath wasn’t possible, dirt in the bathroom corners (especially the water closet), grubby rugs, and numerous other things were a turnoff. When we got there, our room was 64 degrees, and no one was there. Keys are just left on a table. The kitchen was a cluttered mess. The entire house was cold because there’s only one central thermostat for the entire house. A repairman was there, so then the heat worked, but we were suffocating with the high heat. Windows had no screens and wouldn’t stay open if they’d had them. There wasn’t a simple box of Kleenex (facial tissue, essential for someone with allergies) available in the entire house. I could go on, but I won’t. Pretty old place, but either do it properly, or pass it on to someone who can and will. We were really looking forward to our visit at the inn, but it was a real disappointment.
- Mccauley (10/5): Beautiful, historic B&B that was stumbling distance from the Harvester. - There was an impressive breakfast on Sunday, and it was delicious. Room (General’s) was big and cozy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Harvester Performance Center and Rocky Mount Burger Co. were awesome and 100 yards from the front door of the B&B.
- Harry (6/5): - I arrived to an empty building. There was a note with a key. My bathroom was down the hall and not connected to my room. The front door to the building remained unlocked with no one there for any type of security. I woke up in the morning and still, no one was there. I needed to check out early due to a weather emergency back home but I had to leave a note on the kitchen table and have yet to receive any receipt. Won’t go back. Very impersonal and uninviting
- Charles (8/5): Charming INN -
- Alicia (9/5): Lovely, surprising little town, and excellent inn! Loved it. - The inn was lovely, low key and relaxing! I wish our room had the bathroom en suite.
- Derrick (9/5): Had a very enjoyable stay, will definitely be back! - we really enjoyed the privacy we received at the property. Also how welcoming we felt by the staff and other guests we met. nothing we have to complain about :)
- Jessie (10/5): Exceptional - Really how often Can you stay in a house that's over 200 years old with all the comforts and amenities of today. The house was reported to have a friendly ghost, Kind of exciting but nothing happened.
- Susan (8/5): Very good -
- Eric (10/5): - Beautiful property, perfect quiet spot for my quick stay for business.
- Sofia (10/5): - Fabulous building.
- Robert (10/5): - Beautiful decor and extremely friendly staff
- jessica (10/5): - Loved the homey feeling. Felt very welcomed. Autumn is so sweet! Room was cold! Repairs under way next morning. Would’ve been nice to have access to ice and bar/ drink on check in or at least offered.
- David (10/5): Beautiful stay - Beautiful grounds and house. Our schedule did not permit us to eat breakfast there, but the room was great! Bathrooms are modern. Would stay again, especially if we had time to eat the 8:30a breakfasts.
- Linda (10/5): Relaxing stay - Staying at the Inn was very relaxing and laid back. Everything was provided, coffee, continental breakfast, snacks and beverages. Room was beautiful , historic and very quiet! Would stay again!!
- David (10/5): The General was very comfortable - WOW What a beautiful place, was a little reluctant when we booked the place but ended being very well pleased, It was quiet and we found a couple of places very close thanks to Toni. if we are back in this area we will definitely stay again
- Ruth (10/5): Can't wait to go back! - This place was amazing! It was beautiful, comfortable, and within easy walking distance of the Harvester Performance Center. Can't wait to go back!
