- Daniel (5/5): Just expecting a little bit more for the price we paid. Felt like an overpriced cheap motel. - The room was clean, the employees encountered were kind. The value of the stay just wasn’t there, no hog mat at the entrance, resulting in wet floors throughout the room, curtains did not fully close, marks on the wall, the crown trim was not fully finished (gaps) , not fully done, very dated look, even though they said, renovated rooms. Definitely not a romantic day.

- Grace (6/5): It was adequate for a one-night stay. - Good location for a quick overnight stay along our route. Close to gas stations and fast food restaurants. Not very sound proof. A lot of outside noise came into our room. And the curtains were not dark enough, letting in too much light.

Liked the ceiling light, which is a great feature as most hotel/motel rooms do not have ceiling lights. Room was very clean, but some areas are showing its age. The table tops are worn & flooring missing a section (potential tripping hazard). We were only staying one day, but should we have stayed longer extra hangers would have been appreciated. There was only one supplied hanger. We were disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t open on the day we arrived (Sunday) nor was it open the following morning. We had a function at 11:00 am which was the time the restaurant opened on the Monday. We had picked this motel because of the attached restaurant, but never got to use the restaurant. Definitely appreciated that room came with small fridge, microwave & coffee machine. Good to know for future stay. Also appreciated the luggage rack, that is always a nice touch. Also, a folding chair was provided which was definitely handy in bathroom to put extra supplies on when getting ready. All in all, we would stay here again.

We would have had to wear our coats for an hour or two until the room warmed up. Consequently we left. I asked the owners to give me a receipt to confirm that we did not use the room and had checked out. They refused to do this. We own recreational rentals in both Canada and Belize. We always turn on the heat or air conditioning before guests arrive.

- Linda (8/5): Work Trip - It was a nice room. Bathroom was a bit cramped, but ok for 1 person. Bed was comfortable. I was in the last room on the end, so it was quiet.
- Mark (5/5): Disappointed in what we got for the money we paid. - The heater worked well. Pretty basic accommodation. I expected more for the money we paid. We had hoped for a better selection of cable channels, or perhaps a simple breakfast included for the cost of the room.
- Pamela (1/5): We went for dinner to a restaurant attached to another motel and ended up checking in there. We went back to this place, - Location. We booked the property specifically because of the on-site restaurant and found it was closed for the long weekend even we arrived after a long drive. When we asked why this wasn’t made clear as it was obviously a decision made in advance, they told us it was in Facebook, but were unapologetic. Our room was cold and unwelcoming and the lighting was terrible - either full cold white light on or nothing. we asked for a lamp and they did bring us a large table lamp but it was really dirty. We cleaned it ourselves. The pillows smelled like body odour. The vibe was just “off” like no one really cares about this place.

I had to do a Zoom call and the wifi was good. They have updated the rooms with new vinyl flooring, which is good for the most part, but I found the floor to be cold. Other than that, the room met my expectations.

Only negative was for being off season, all occupied rooms were at one end, close to the highway so heard traffic, smokers (incl pot) talking outside close to our door, and walls are not very sound proof, incl clomping across the floor. Was Ok for 2 nights but also abit pricey.

As usual at places like this, it is nice to be parked right outside your door. Resturant was closed so we went down the road a minute or 2. No complimentary breakfast. Price a bit high for what is offered. Conveniently right along the hwy.

- Cheryln (2/5): - Booked this based on the 8.2/10 rating. Big mistake. To be fair, I don’t care about a place being dated as I was just passing through, but it was filthy. The bathroom was not cleaned properly, mystery stain on the bathroom wall, dirty walls in the rest of the room, etc. The bed was so uncomfortable that sleep was limited, and I don’t want to even think about what is on the fabric headboard. That being said, check in was easy and the person who checked us in was friendly. The bottle of water in the room was appreciated. Overall, if you are stuck for a place to stay in Blind River, I recommend sleeping in your car over staying here.
