Guest Reviews
- Coltham (10/5): - Breakfast was amazing. And staff were so kind tobgive us the breakfast as a takeaway so we could get on the road
- Stephen (5/5): Its an OK place, but not memorable. - Not very good. I ate it but my wife being more fussy as regards presentation chose not to. I found the breakfast to be pretty stodgy. Having at least one local & 1 ,international TV news channel would have been great.. breakfast ( as above). The double bed caved in a bit towards the centre & the cutains let in a lot of light ( room 2 as I recall).
- Donovan (8/5): - Guesthouse is near the main road Nothing
- Kearabetswe (10/5): - it was clean n warm
- Hendrik (1/5): - Could not stay there as they cancelled our booking due to renovations.

- Abraham (8/5): -
- Heidi (9/5): Convenient location. comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. - Room was spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was great with really hot water. Fridge was added convenience. Very quiet- we had a good night‘s sleep. Breakfast was tasty. We were very grateful for safe Onsite parking. Nothing

- Nico (8/5): -
- Sebiloane (9/5): - Everything was excellent Nothing at all
- Babatunde (6/5): Experience at Old House Lodge - Friendly receptionist Food was not up to the value of expectation. Cornflakes was poor quality. The quality of breakfast was 4/10
- Tamryn (3/5): Unhygienic, outdated and overpriced. - Friendly staff, beautiful outdoor area. We were quite disappointed with our stay. The bathroom hygiene was not up to standard, and there was a noticeable mouldy smell throughout the room. The overall condition felt outdated and not well maintained.
The location is on a very busy road, which made it less relaxing than expected. Breakfast could also be improved with a bit more attention to quality and presentation.
The strict 21:00 check-in policy is inconvenient, especially since arriving later results in being charged for a full extra day.
Overall, the room was overpriced for what was offered. There are definitely better, more modern and affordable options available in Beaufort West that provide far better value for money.

- Jovandi (8/5): -
- Ann (10/5): We enjoyed! - We enjoyed our stay! Exceptional clean and very well equipped! Central !
- Etienne and Susan (5/5): - Charming room. Trucks passing every few minutes.
Rules everywhere... very irritating and off-putting. Basic etiquette should be a given.
- Sisa (9/5): It was a good place. - Clean and convenient The noise of the truck, the room allocation was not best especially when we needed rest since it was a stop by to rest for few hours.
- Jane (9/5): It was comfortable and would stay in it again. - The bed was very comfortable. Loved the architecture such as the high ceilings and the chandelier. We could get the TV on but we could not get it to play any channels, everything was fuzzy.
- Sinead (8/5): -
- Hayley (9/5): -
- Inge (1/5): Not a 4 star place at all - When my husband came for breakfast he had to ask for coffee, he had to ask for milk and even for a spoon for the porridge, there was also no bread. We asked to make up the bed and the night when we returned the bed was not even made up. We even did not stay any further from Wednesday.

- Rothwell (10/5): - Lovely little lodge, safe parking, very nice bedroom. Staff were there at check in. Whilst it was a weekend there was not an evening meal option but a very good restaurant was recommended nearby. Quiet and peaceful place to overnight on a road trip.
- Renziana (8/5): -
- Jasper J (8/5): Wonderful relaxing stay - Staff Friendly and attentive - Overall appeal of the Guesthouse - Position of the Guesthouse Would like bottled water on the rooms
- Moshiga (7/5): -
- Duane (8/5): Enjoyed the stay and staff really helpful - Lovely little place perfect for traveling between cpt and jhb Clean and quite
- Charmaine (7/5): Good for. Stopover - Pool Shower.. water pressure was bad and aircon was not cold
- Rethabile (6/5): mighty average - The property was alright, though there seemed to be a general issue with the aroma around most of the lodges. No security, once the receptionist left there was no one to attend to us if there was an emergency.
- MICHAEL (5/5): - Too much noise
- Willem (7/5): Served the purpose, little noisy as a stay over for a traveler because of other patrons - NA NA
- Lukas (7/5): -
- Sylvia (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): -
- Theresa (7/5): This is the second time we have stayed here overnight purely because of the convenience - The room and bed were comfortable and neat.
Breakfast was great and the staff were super friendly and helpful as always!
It's nice that there are spots to sit and read in the evenings and mornings. The streets surrounding the guest house get quite loud and this kept us awake, but this is not the guest house's fault.
The shower could do with a new head as this one is not great.
- Wendy Busisiwe (8/5): AMAZING! - Location was really ideal as I was on a long road trip. Really charming BnB. Perfect place for my dog to run around. Definitely will be back on my return trip.
- Anglela (9/5): -
- Ntokozo (10/5): I am coming definitely - Everything to be honest I liked everything
- Moleboheng (5/5): - They must serve a good breakfast I booked 2 rooms and indicated that I was traveling with 3 adults and 2 children. I was hoping they would provide me with one room with more beds, queen/ king size, and 2 single beds
- Shane (8/5): Was good . - The trucks passing by was the issue . Noisy trucks
- Sergio (10/5): -
- Abigail (8/5): -
- Freek (10/5): -
- Julie (6/5): Overall I would rate it as a 3 star, not 4 but overall not bad value - Aircon and pool like the character of the house Matress not good, no available plugs to charge phones, opvienview tv not plugged in and shower very small
- Rudolph (8/5): -
- Sithara (7/5): -
- Helena (10/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Gcinile (2/5): - When we arrived, we were allocated a room that had a very unpleasant smell, similar to sewage, and the bathroom was even worse. We requested to be moved, and although the receptionist initially said the facility was fully booked, she eventually agreed to relocate us and kindly assisted with our luggage.
While she did explain the general rules of the facility, it would have been helpful to also be informed about the breakfast times. When we arrived for breakfast at 09:00, we were surprised to learn that breakfast ended exactly at 09:00. We asked the kitchen staff if they could prepare something simple, even just eggs, but our request was bluntly refused.
We returned to our room, and around 09:30, while we were still preparing to check out, both the electricity and water were switched off without any communication or explanation.
The checkout process also felt unsafe and inconvenient. We had to stop our car in the middle of the road to return the keys, and there was no staff member available to open the gate for departing guests. Overall, the lack of communication and poor guest handling significantly affected our stay.
- Patrizia (9/5): Very nice friendly experience . Thank you for the comfortable overnight stay . - Very good thank you
- Roscoe (1/5): - I was phoned 15min before 9 to say that they will be locking up at 9pm and there will be nobody to let us in. I arranged with family in the area to go and get the keys, I also informed the staff of this and I was told flatly that they will not wait. At 9:01 when our family members arrived the accommodation was locked up leaving me,my wife and my 4year old daughter to sleep in our car.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Stacy (7/5): - We did not have breakfast however it was a comfortable pitstop The aircon was not working properly and the water pressure was very low
- Wahl Francois (6/5): Overnight one night in Beaufort west - The location was central No no cellphone charge plugs TV not working and door to room not opening and closing properly
- Elinah (8/5): -
- Willem (8/5): -
- Britt (10/5): - Super convenient, clean and comfortable. Great stay.
- George (8/5): -
- Engelbrecht (6/5): -
- Oomapathie Mogambary (2/5): Poor experience - Location
The reservation gentleman on our first check in The lady on our second check in - rude, unhelpful, defensive
Aircon didnt work, the facility smelt of both cigarette and marijuna smoke.
The wifi was inadequate as i couldnt do any work
- Stacey (1/5): It was clean and tidy and the guy that helped us was lovely and friendly but we won’t be back. It’s impossible to sleep - It was neat and clean There’s no air in the room, we were so hot. You can’t put the aircon on it sounds like a tractor in your room. Your room is on the street so we had non stop trucks and cars driving past. We barely got any sleep.
- PS91 (10/5): -
- Tito (9/5): Great stay for taking a break from a drive between Cape Town and Johannesburg. - The staff was amazing WiFi did not work
- Antonio (10/5): -
- Gavin (9/5): Beaufort West Convenience - Conveniently located in town. Ideal for a stop over enroute to CTN
- MakgalaJoicey Lupahla (10/5): - Breakfast was ok, sausage and beacon was cooked to the point it tasted and looked like draaiwors biltong, No hot water out for tea, Besides breakfast payment i was happy
The lady at reception insisted that I pay by entering my banking details on their Computer( card number, date and my 3 digit sec) which i was not happy with as most computers are set to remember all information. I asked she sent me invoice and she said her manager prefers we pay by entering our card info and I was not happy the whole time she was standing behind me even when I asked for privacy ? One can never be extra careful with banking details , and dont understand why they insist on that being method of payment
We decided one of us drive to look for ATM and paid cash
- Pavalini (6/5): Has all the amenities needed for a stop over. -
- Sipho (3/5): Underwhelming - The staff were kind . The grounds looked kept Our room unfortunately had a filthy bathroom with hair everywhere. Loud broken air conditioning. The shower had little to none water and was filled with long brown hair
