The room definitely had black mold. An hour after laying down for bed my friend and I both started getting congested (I have had long term exposure to black mold so am now very sensitive to it). she went to sleep in her car and symptoms immediately went away. My mold symptoms progressed throughout the night but went away an hour after checkout.

The shower was already leaking when I arrived so the bathroom floor was all wet. After I did take a shower, I couldn't get the water to cut off, so it just leaked all night. When I got up in the morning, I noticed a large gap beneath the outside door.

- Jutta (5/5): You get what you pay for - Convenient location within walking distance to downtown stores, restaurants, galleries, and museums. Could park my car right outside my room at the Pink Pelican. It was quiet at the time of our 2-night stay in late December. The bench outside our room was a pleasant place to soak up the afternoon sun and watch people walking their dogs or visiting the excellent thrift store across the street. Bathroom was clean, shower temperature was fine once it warmed up after 1-2 minutes. The window unit was old and noisy but did a great job keeping the room warm. Only noticed 1 bug, a small fly. We were unaware that we would be housed in a separate building across the street from the hot springs. Springs are first-come, first-serve and we lucked out when we happened to stumble in at the just right time. The rustic concrete tub was enclosed in a narrow room, with loose concrete chips and rough spots that made it hard to get comfortable. The water didn't have an odor, but the room smelled like an old basement; the overall impression was that of a dungeon or narrow alleyway between old buildings in Campden, NJ. The bathroom window in our room (Pink 4) wouldn't close, the floor needed a good scrubbing, the room was locked with a single homeowner-grade deadbolt (and the door showed signs that somebody had tried to break in previously), and we saw a homeless man going through the dumpster across the street at night.

- Bob (1/5): Disappointment! - Not much to like about this place! Reservation was incorrect. Requested 2 beds they only had one bed. They did not have a two bed room. They said I have to contact you for any refund. ( I wonder if future reservations the room must be inspected before committing payment) I requested two nights with two beds. Would appreciate any assistance in correcting this. Thank you!

- Reta (7/5): Funky and fun - The room was colorful and included a kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, and a few dishes. My room was about five feet off of Main St, so the traffic noise was an issue. My friends rooms were quieter because they were about a block away in a different building.

- Allan (9/5): Great for 1 or 2 nights stay - quiet, good AC, staff responding very well mattress is not firm, shaken if one of us make a move or turn around. If my wife move and it will awake me. Need a firm strong mattress
- Katherine (6/5): - Cute property, nearby to the town and we were able to walk to a cafe for breakfast. Comfortable, large bed and good sized kitchen. They also have a mineral spa onsite. The bathroom was very small, and the towels were not very soft (older, colorful cotton towels which had thinned out over time). There were also no shelves in the shower to put products on during use.

- Ziggy (10/5): This place is like going back to the 60s - Loved the hot soaks tho I need more acclimation. Plan to use the 12 soaks for a Benjamin totally. The concrete floor reminded me of one of my houses. Too bad I don’t cook but the kit he was cool. Not much
- Christina (6/5): - Bed was awful. Air conditioner was ridiculously loud. Darker curtains are in order if you have bright lights right outside the room windows. Updates and upgrades are definitely in order.
- jeffrey (10/5): funky fun comfort - old fashioned spa motel with private old hot tub rooms; the complex is a group of brightly painted comfy old motels a short walk to the main drag with shops, food and T or C brewery!

- Elisa (6/5): - Location was great for work.. had everything we needed. The bed was not so comfortable and when trying to sit on bed it would roll away making it a little dangerous on one of us to hit the floor but other then that it was good.
- Ida Lise (8/5): - The room was cheery and clean, and there were plenty of linens and clean towels. The room was well-stocked with cups, silverware, coffee and conditioning shampoo packets...but NO bath soap! In the rack of the very dark shower stall, I somehow found a skinny thin shard of bar soap left over from a prior guest. Good thing I always travel with my own bar soap. The curtains were thick to block out the light, but the quite bright street light across the street nonetheless shone through them. Anyone who needs an intensely dark room for sleeping might find that difficult in the Pink Pelican rooms, which all face said street light.

- Jewell (10/5): - Lovely facilities, great staff, fabulous soaking tubs! My room had a little kitchenette in it, fridge, mic, coffee.....I'm envisioning coming back sometime for a whole week. The courtyard and communal kitchen are nice - I'd like to be there when there are a bunch of folks relaxing to some live music outside. There's also a nice community 'living room'. Helped my aches and arthritis a lot!

- Metta (10/5): Quirky hotel, quirky town, guests of Pelican Spa gets complimentary fill your own hot springs tub. - its a quirky comfortable and well designed and maintained motel in a quiet quirky town. the piped in springs water tub was weird but once i was in, i loved it. would stay here again. as a local put it, in summers, theres a restaurant drought. there are options but its not santa fe yummy.

- Janine (8/5): - It's a quirky motel in an odd area of town. The AC unit was in the kitchen area so the kitchen was ice cold and the bedroom area was quite warm. It did not make for a comfortable night's sleep. I would recommend moving the AC unit to the bedroom or adding a ceiling fan for better air circulation. I do not think the bathroom was cleaned since I found remnants of someone else's stuff in the shower area. The front of the toilet was so close to the wall that my husband could not sit straight due to his knee length was longer than the wall. The hot spring tubs are at the main office which was in a different building. There are several private rooms for soaking. You get a 1-hour stay in the hot tub when you stay overnight.
- Cory (3/5): If the price is lower or there was easier access to the hot pool privately, I would consider it acceptable, - Love the location, access to the hot bath, and the quiet room All the dead bugs on the floor, all the dead bugs on the curtains, the noticeable stains in the bed linens, or the bed skirt anyway, a man with his young daughter and partner yelling loudly outside my window early in the morning, and of course, the price for what I got

- Zeleste (2/5): Funky, but not in a good way. - I was excited about the mineral baths and ready to relax. This place looked cool and eclectic on the website and I'm always looking for cool funky places to stay. I was disappointed and was expecting more from the description. This place is outdated, worn, and unkept. The thermal bath was great, but towels were worn out and there were no floor mats or anything to help when getting out of the tub. Room was not clean - not swept, bugs, spiderwebs, dirty linens and smelled of cigarette smoke. Towels were also old and worn out. I did bring this to Management's attention and they were responsive.
- Tara (1/5): I did NOT stay and knew I could not get a refund so I just left - The bath house seemed fine though I didn’t use the facilities The old run down apt building was too much for me to handle. I could sense years of roaches, mice etc and knew harsh chemicals had been used along side a new coat of paint for a face lift. I ended up not staying. Could not risk my asthma getting flared. The bed seemed old also knew I wouldn’t get any sleep. Left the room unused and went to a different hotel at 10:30pm.
- Ana (8/5): Lovely little discovery - I loved discovering the hot spring baths, and the main rooms or outdoor eating space are truly lovely. The Pelican Spa has a lot of charm, and a nice retro vibe. My only negative comment would be that in the room that we were in, the AC was in the kitchen, and not in the bedroom, and during the hot summers around here, can be a bit rough if like me you're sensitive to heat. But honestly, other than that little detail, the hotel is truly lovely.
