- Steve (6/5): - Villa Celentano has a nice location, but unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The furniture is old and the room felt outdated, which made the price feel unreasonable. We had an issue with ants in our room, and my wife even developed a rash due to a reaction. Because of this, we decided to leave after the first night (we had booked for 3). However, we were refused a refund and they declined to call a taxi for us, leaving us to carry our luggage down multiple stairs and walk 20 minutes to the bus station. Overall, not the experience we were hoping for.

- thomas (10/5): Great location and Very Clean. - Great stay with Maria and family. Place is very clean and can tell they have a lot of pride in their business. It was really hot by the air conditioning kept up and they have a machine for small amounts of ice which is rare in Italy and a nice treat at the end of a hot day. The walk up and down the hill is no joke, 600 plus steps but we took the road every day up and down which was easier plus shopping, great restaurants, and all the Instagram photo locations along the way. There is a local bus every 30 minutes nearby but we chose to walk/climb.

We had a beautiful room with an amazing view. They also provided a great selection for breakfast. Thank you Maria and family
- Rebecca (10/5): - Maria and Raphael and Angelo and Anna were wonderful. The whole family were attentive to our every need and were so kind and accommodating. They met us at the gate and Angelo and Raphael helped us carry our luggage up the stairs. Very helpful. I would advise anyone coming to Positano to try the Porter system to transport their bags up to their hotel, if it is in a higher location. It is delightful to have the view, but difficult getting the luggage there, especially on the narrow streets. Otherwise this is a wonderful place to stay, with wonderful hosts and a great breakfast and view. Loved our stay Christian and Rebecca, indian Wells, California

Bus stop is only 2 small flights of steps away, and some delicious restaurants very close. Thankyou Maria and family for a wonderful stay!

The hosts are so friendly and helpful and were so accommodating when we arrived late due to flight delays on the day of our arrival. The walk to the town center is short and there are good restaurants nearby. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience on our first trip to Positano…definitely hope to return and would stay here again!

- Christina (10/5): - Maria and her husband run a spotless hotel/ short stay apartment accommodations. The beds are extremely comfortable and our room was generously large and spread over two floors! This property has the best water pressure of any hotel I have ever stayed and the walk in showers were large. We had a beautiful little balcony enough to sit out on and admire the stunning sea view. The breakfast was so plentiful and a wide selection of choices so something for everyone. There were even freshly made pastries that were still warm. Though not a coffee drinker myself the lady at the next table said, “Maria made the best coffee in Italy.” This property is well situated as we would walk downwards into the heart of town in less than 10 minutes. Tip: walk down to the main square but take the bus back up! It stops right outside the property. Maria gave us great recommendations of places to eat and all were wonderful! I really struggle to say anything negative as it’s such a wonderful hotel. There are stairs to the property but there are stairs to every property in Positano. It’s built into the side of a mountain. If you call ahead with your arrival time Maria’s husband will assist with your bags to your room. You really should book this property if you are visiting Positano or the Amalfi coast.

- M (10/5): - Warmest welcome from Maria and hosts! Never too busy to help with questions and travel plans. Beautiful views and up the "hill" on the "quieter" side of Positano but short/easy walk to restaurants and shops! IF visiting Positano, must be very comfortable with walking uphill/downhill and LOTS of stairs!!! Villa is off a driveable road but about 40-60 steps up to the property with luggage from there. After ringing the bell at the gate by the road, we were greeted by the friendly host who helped carry my luggage up to the villa (so incredibly nice of him since we had a long day of traveling!). We sincerely hope to return one day! Highly recommend this property!

The room was very clean and spacious and the view from our room was wonderful. Parking and breakfast were extra, but the paid parking was very conveniently located. If we return to the area we would definitely stay again!

Maria and her family were exceptionally helpful with every aspect of our stay--reservation, directions of all kinds, GREAT breakfast, laundry, and more. We enjoyed getting to know her and her family and would recommend staying here if you want reasonably-priced accommodations in Positano and don't mind walking a bit.

- Megan (10/5): Highly recommend! Hospitality was incredible. - Simply an amazing stay!! Maria and her family were incredible with hospitality and service. The hotel is located at the top of the hill on Positano, so definitely get a good workout in (no need to feel guilty about all the pasta and wine 🤗). That being said, definitely recommend booking a luggage service if you’re arriving by boat. We arrived by car so got dropped off very close and only had to tackle a few stairs. We couldn’t imagine having to climb from the beach with luggage! Highly recommend!

The owners were very friendly and helpful. As we were staying in the apartment breakfast wasn’t included, but very good value at €5 with lovely cappuccino and home baked cakes (delicious lemon cake), boiled eggs, meat, cheese, lovely tomatoes and fresh fruit etc. And a lovely view :)

- Ignacio (8/5): Great flat to explore Positano - The flat is on an edge of the town of Positano. It has great views from the lovely roof top, it’s not far from a really cute cosy beach at the bottom of the town’s edge.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay at a great value..... - Maria was an excellent host, very helpful in welcoming me with drinks and getting my bags up the steps. She kindly assisted me in making a parking reservation. I enjoyed my apartment tremendously, and the view was absolutely stupendous as I had my own balcony with a view of the sea. If you are coming in the warmer months, make sure you bring mosquito repellent The apartment itself is simple, but that's to be expected in a place like Positano. I did spend an entire day out on the balcony sipping wine and eating Italian pastries. Important: You need to be able to walk up and down a lot of steps if you stay here (and many other places in Positano). You will have to move shopping bags and grocery bags up these steps. A car (whether it's one that you bring or a taxi) can only drop you off at the bottom of the steps or on top of the hill. So make sure you consider that. You will be rewarded with the amazing view from your apartment.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Villa Celentano Gets A Thumbs Up! - We spent three nights in late April 2018 at Villa Celentano and would not hesitate to stay there again. In fact, we hope to return next year. Maria and her family were very welcoming, helpful, and professional. We stayed in a charming room with a small kitchen and private terrace with wonderful views. The room was immaculate, the bathroom and shower great, and the wifi strong. After hiking most of the day we found ourselves preferring to buy dinner at the local grocery and eat in comfort on the terrace (and later go to our favorite dessert place for dark chocolate sponge cake and decaf cappuccinos). Breakfast was good as was room service. It's about a 15 minute walk down to the main area of shops (plenty of restaurants along the way) and you can take the stairs or simply walk down the road. Once the last ferry leaves and the daytrippers are gone, Positano relaxes and is wonderfully romantic, clean, beautiful, and full of good food. The only thing I can think to mention is that a distant rooster loved to crow loudly very early, hear its echo, and crow again (and again). We slept with the windows open. We never once heard other guests, which we did in other hotels we stayed in during this trip. Thanks Maria!

We had a very warm welcome, even have been offered drinks to cool down even before the check-in started, and the staff provided us very useful information about what we could do and how. In the same time the room was very spacious, unbelievably clean (maybe the cleanest i have ever experienced in italy!) and had a very nice layout and great view. It is also a nice positive that the location is very close to the bus stop, so carrying the luggages through steep positano roads has been a minimum (compared to how it could have been by other hotels, but you still need to carry them for some stairs) In summary, a great experience which made our stay even nicer!

From meeting us at our taxi door to making unlimited cappuccino, yummy breakfast and being available anytime to answer questions she was truly there to make our experience wonderful. The property is amazing, the view of the sea from our own deck was truly memorable! It was nice to leave the hustle and bustle to come back to our own little refuge! I highly recommend staying here!

We had an awesome private terrace with an excellent view! The terraces are spaced nicely so they feel really private. Mary was so sweet. She met us at the lot where we parked our car and insisted on carrying my bag up to the hotel. She was an excellent host, and always had a smile on her face. There were a few really good restaurants nearby. Overall this place was excellent and just a really pleasant experience!
- Crystal (10/5): Beyond Beautiful ! - I was greeted cheerfully! Shown to my beautifully amazing apartment...and told that if I needed anything to just ask. I was given all the information needed to navigate around the town where to find food for home and for dinning out. I was told about the local form of transportion (if I found the steps to daunting) and was welcomed back to the hotel with a smile after every outing. The food served every morning was wonderful and fresh ...some being hand baked by the owner herself !..Delicious! !! The veiw were breathtaking and just sitting out on the balcony was a gift on it own. I will be back as I truly came to love the owner and her amazing esabishment ..as well as the town itself. Must spend more then 2 days next time ! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!

The only minor downside was that it was a little more than half way up which made for some walking. We could have easily taken a ride or two back up that would have alleviated that.

- Barbara (10/5): Great place to stay - Our stay at Villa Celentano could not have been better and Maria could not have been nicer. From helping us with luggage, to her kindness and helpfullness, she is top-notch. The place is on a pretty steep incline (it is Positano, after all), and it is a bit of a walk down to the city center, but there is an easy to find bus back up. There are restaurants nearby and Maria's breakfast was fabulous, with many of her own jams, fruits, etc., while you sit on the balcony and look out over the water, albeit at a bit of a distance. There is also a small balcony off of the room with the same view. If I had it to do all over again, I would have stayed the entire time at her place.Highly recommend.
