Guest Reviews
- LEOjaxon13 (10/5): Short stay - Excellent hotel nothing was too much trouble and the food and drink Excellent all the staff went out of their way to make our stay as good as possible. The receptionist Sammie helped us with booking a local restaurant for a special meal with our grandson and even booked us a taxi
- Monikaactivities (10/5): perfect stay - The morning staff were very warm and welcoming. The breakfast package was a great deal, with so much to choose from including the drinks variety of tea/coffee/juices. The rooms were spacious and clean, TV available for evening relaxing. Nice bathroom. Nice food options in the evening as well. The cafe is a nice place to sit and chat, morning or evening. Easy to get to with lidl shop close by as well. Elevators are useful and fire instructions clear.
- wonderwend2015 (10/5): Fabulous Hotel - Great location, easy to get to. All staff very friendly. Excellent modern, clean and comfortable rooms. We had a lovely breakfast with lots of choice. Great price for food and a 5 night stay. Definitely recommend, you can't go wrong!
- LesleydElstree (10/5): Really considerate staff - The reception staff especially Raja, went over and above to help me in a time of distress. The eating area is a very nice place and breakfast is terrific value. The hotel is well placed for buses, shops and reataurants. Although on a busy traffic highway, there is no outside noise at all.
- Mumofgirls192 (10/5): Great stay with super helpful and friendly staff - Fantastic stay as usual, shout out to Raja with his great customer service at check in. And sarah during breakfast Thanks again guys.
- eaF7954MX (10/5): Beyond expectation - From the moment of arrival, Sarah (supervisor) and her team provided me two nights of exquisite experience. Jiving spoken to security (Taha), Chi and Abdul (night shift) and experiencing the rooms so clean it is clearly a team effort (which Sarah always shares). However this doesn't happen by chance, but strong leadership combined with support. I will move on however after the lovingly creates breakfast I am ready for the day ahead. Thank you. Merry xmas. Prosperous Happy, Healthy 2026
- ArchDarkMark (2/5): Terrible customer service - A story of a £150 expense for a budget hotel! - I initially booked the stay for the wrong date, which I acknowledge was my mistake. When I arrived at the hotel and explained the situation, your receptionist advised me to rebook online while standing at reception. Though the staff appeared to try to best unhelpful as possible!
While attempting to review and amend the booking online, I was unable to find Newcastle Under Lyme Central listed. When entering “Newcastle” on the amend booking page, only options such as Newcastle Central, Newcastle Quayside, etc were displayed, with Newcastle Under Lyme Central missing entirely. In these circumstances, it is entirely reasonable for a customer to assume that Newcastle Central is the correct and only relevant option, particularly when rebooking under time pressure and following instructions from hotel staff.
I later discovered that Newcastle Under Lyme Central does appear on the new booking page, but not on the amend booking page. This inconsistency between the two parts of the website directly contributed to the confusion and suggests a flaw in the booking and amendment process rather than simple user error.
When I returned to reception to explain this, I was reassured that it would be fine and was advised to contact the customer service team to have the hotel amended. I was given the relevant phone number by the receptionist. Unfortunately, when I called, I was spoken to very rudely by a member of the booking team and was simply told that nothing could be done.
As a result, I was left £90 out of pocket with no hotel room, which was extremely frustrating. As someone who travels regularly, this is not the sort of mistake I would ordinarily make. The fact that this occurred twice under these circumstances only reinforces that the booking process is unclear and misleading.
Furthermore that I wasn’t the only person in reception having issues with their room/ booking at the time leads me to believe there are bigger issues at the heart of the hotel.
Costing me a total of £150 for a single night stay in a budget hotel is appalling and I shall endeavour not to stay at a Travelodge again!
- Departure03119774821 (10/5): Sammie and Blake - The staff were very helpful and attentive.
Sammie and Blake in particular were great.
Give them both a pay rise!!!!!!!!
- L6612GUcameronc (10/5): Great stay - Newcastle under Lyme was fantastic, great staff I stay here regularly due to work, Blake in the kitchen is fabulous and does a fantastic pizza, sammie on reception is always welcoming and goes above and beyond give that girl a pay rise!
- P9555NNlynh (2/5): NOT dog friendly - We arrived at this hotel after dark on a cold wet evening. Being in a town we didn’t know and had had along drive decided to use the Cafe/Bar for a meal. We were refused a service as “it’s company policy that dogs are not allowed.”
No attempt was made to find a way we could get a meal, such as take a meal to your room. Our small dog, a rescue who was badly treated so not appropriate to leave in a strange.
- X517NVneilf (10/5): Travelodge Newcastle under Lyme Central - Great location with lots of amenities close by. Stayed on 4th was lovely and quiet and temp just right. Wonderful greeting by Sammie when I arrived and had a technical issue that was rectified just as professionally by Ethan. Both a credit to the hotel and to Travelodge. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend too
- Flyer38394115450 (4/5): Would you pay £9.00 for a Travelodge teabag? - Would you pay £9.00 for a Travelodge teabag?
I booked a 2-night stay, at ‘Newcastle-under-Lyme Travelodge’.
As with other hotels, Travelodge provide, in-room, tea/coffee making facilities.
The first morning, I fancied a first cup of tea (usually, ‘Earl Grey’) in my room.
There were no Earl Grey teabags. No problem… I’ll ask at reception.
‘I’m sorry, sir, we only give Earl Grey, with breakfast,’ said Sarah, the receptionist.
‘But, I don’t want breakfast - I just need one, Earl Grey teabag,’ I said.
‘No, sorry, we can’t do that,’ said Sarah.
‘I’ve paid £154 to stay here… yet you can’t give me a 10p teabag?’ I said.
‘No sir… we’re not allowed to,’ said Sarah.
I returned to the Travelodge that evening, and told my story to the evening receptionist.
‘Here you are, sir,’ she said… and gave me three Earl Grey teabags.
No fuss, no silliness.
This isn’t about a teabag - it’s about poor management, lack of common sense and not putting the customer first.
I don’t blame, ‘computer says’, Sarah. It’s the poor training Sarah received from Travelodge, that’s to blame for my very disappointing, ‘stay-experience’.
A ‘1-star’ review. They don’t deserve more.
- JoshArnup (6/5): Key Card hell - During a mere 2 night stay here, the key card system went down and overall they were fairly inconsistent and required a couple of goes to open doors. I stayed at Talke Travelodge and they had a FOB and key which was great and far better overall over there. Then I went to reception to get it fixed and there was nobody there and a sign with a phone number that I had to ring 3 times before getting an answer! I heard the ringer in the backroom so nobody was anywhere to be seen, surely someone should always be on duty? Then my key card was reluctantly fixed and no apology received, but my room was fine and it did the job.
- alisonoY717HG (10/5): Friendly and welcoming - Huge thank you to Madi and Ella for making our stay so enjoyable. So friendly and patient when it was a very busy morning for them.
- helentL4829GQ (10/5): A great hotel friendly staff cosy warm rooms - Was staying for a visit to see family this our third stay it's in a convenient location close to Newcastle town the rooms are lovely nice shower room nice size bed nice and comfy the room was very clean Room was very quiet there's a restaurant that serves a good breakfast only thing I would say was staying at the weekend wanting lunch but don't want to go to a pub etc
Looked after by Sammie
- 29kieranw (10/5): Great Stay - Great place to stay, friendly staff. Easy parking. Abdul was particularly amazing. Food was lovely. Would stay again :)
- SnockWolverhampton (2/5): I will never again use Travelodge - stayed at the Newcastle under Lyme Travelodge on 13th October. We were going out to a show so I went to phone a taxi as the hotel has no signal. Went outside and was approached by a homeless man on drugs. I quickly got in the lift as there are no security staff and reception is on then next floor. By the time I got to reception the man had run up the stairs and was talking to the receptionist. I didn’t say anything as I felt uncomfortable as he was at reception so we went to get our taxi. On return no one was available to speak to and the next morning nobody was available we just had to leave our keys in the box. On my return I called customer service but the phone number they give out is none existent. You have to email and wait for a reply in 3-5 days as they obviously don’t want to speak to customers and only answer by email when they feel like it. Well the reply to my complaint says it all about Travelodge and the way they treat their customers and believe me it’s beyond disgraceful. All Travelodge hotels house the homeless and their pets but don’t tell the customers that are paying to stop their. They lie and make you feel like your the one in the wrong without giving it a second thought. There were homeless at the hotel with large dogs and also some having food delivered. I have no problem with helping them buy Travelodge should let you know before they take your booking or close the hotel to paying customers. Some of them have mental health issues and can have unpredictable behaviour to others. They reckon they are helping the community but they are getting paid by the government they don’t do it out the goodness of their hearts. No apologies and no concern for customers comfort or safety just as long as they are making a profit. I will never use them again and suggest you look into their hotels before you stop there as it’s nationwide. Customer care and service NONE existent at its best. I should be staying at Travelodge Liverpool soon but I’m so anxious I can’t face it.
- harperjanice5 (10/5): Great overnight stay - Had a wonderful overnight stay. Totally recommend, everywhere was very clean and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing, really good quality and value for money.
Sammie was really amazing, very welcoming and helpful.
- jpgear31 (10/5): Excellent value - A warm welcome and the benefit of bar and restaurant on site. Good food, excellent self serve breakfast. Professional staff.
- mikez19862025 (6/5): Enjoyable stay. Shame about the Breakfast - The Breakfast could be improved by means of being Cooked more. Disappointed bacon wasn't cooked. Mushrooms were so thinly Sliced you couldn't taste them and No Fried Eggs
- lizs0mers (2/5): Shocking from start to finish - Where to start. I stayed for one night with my children. There was smashed glass all over the car park which I had to drive over. The room was so noisy as it was right next to a main road and the windows were not insulated. There was a big spider in a web right outside my door and a homeless man sleeping in the corridor. We ordered food in our restaurant which took 2 hours to arrive despite the place being empty and items were missing from our order which we never received and we got no refund for. Shocking from start to finish. Never again!
- OnAir584180 (4/5): Below standard: Poor customer service - We’ve stayed in lots of Travelodges so know what to expect - this one fell short. WiFi signal was poor, (30mins free every 24hrs), no 5G & only 1 bar of 4G available.
Check in yesterday afternoon was ok but our initial room (floor 1) wasn’t great. The window was covered in bird mess, there was noticeable road noise & occasional noise of a generator outside (ok with the window shut). No air con (which we knew & fine for end Sept). Main problem was the bed backlight didn’t work, leaving either a dark room or the far too bright main ceiling light.
Asked reception if the bulb could be changed but no maintenance was available. Receptionist wanted to check it & followed us to the room making it clear she was annoyed, but then our key card stopped working & she was frustrated at having to reset them. Three other guests had the same keycard problem at the same time. Instead of apologising, the receptionist complained about all the hassle, moaned about her job and even said us moving rooms “really bu**ered her up” as she’d have to clean the room (we were only in there 10mins).
The light worked ok in the second room & there was less road noise (floor 2), but the sink drained very slowly & water with disgusting lumps of something backed up into the bowl, yuk.
We know maintenance issues happen but with an unprofessional & rude receptionist like that, we’re definitely not staying there again!
- Reddwarflister (4/5): Never again - receptionist Sammie was nice but the hotel wasn't very 70s in style right on top of a lidls and you had to park in the lidls carpark food was terrible not enough staff slow service and breakfast don't get me started as waste of £285
- davidsss2016 (10/5): Emergency Hotel rooms sorted!! - Sudden very bad accident and my nephew is in Stoke Hospital having 2 ops and skin graft! Nearest hotel was the Travelodge. Rang them as something of an emergency needed 2 rooms adjacent and it was 19:30h and they parents etc travelling down from Leeds. Staff brilliant!!! Quick! Grasped the situation and booked in 4 mins, had to repeat booking next day - Tanya very quick all sorted same rooms! Just what you need when things go wrong. BIG THANKS.
- petermW5664CZ (8/5): A decent stay not too far from Alton Towers. - We personally had a great experience overall, the Travelodge was clean and tidy, the overall presentation was very smart and presentable.
Our host, "Sammie" was very friendly and outgoing throughout, in particular she really did make you feel welcome and went all out with regards to trying to put things right e.g. when we had slow service, a refund issue and a noisy room, she did her very best to rectify this.
Overall it was good value, the facilities were absolutely fine, the location was close to Alton Towers and even though it was a bit noisy with regards to the road noise on the fourth floor, the double glazed windows certainly helped and we had a good nights stay overall.
One thing that I may add is that we did find the Travelodge pillows to be slightly uncomfortable so my advice is to either bring some of your own or ask the Reception for some alternatives.
Peter
- 456melaniew (10/5): Reliably good value for money - Stayed here for a work thing nearby. It was exactly what you want and expect from a Travelodge - good value, clean, with helpful staff (thanks Sammie for helping sort me out with a taxi)
- hayleymZ590SR (10/5): Enjoyed a 2night stay - Enjoyed a 2 night stay here!
The room was very comfortable and very clean.
All staff I encountered, were very polite and helpful.
Only complaint I have, there are no plugs near the mirror to plug in hairdryer etc
Besides this, I will definitely will be using this hotel for any future visits to the area.
- yvettewetton (10/5): Hassle Free Parking - As a return guest this is my Travelodge of choice when staying locally. The hassle free car parking is a real bonus. The rooms are clean and well presented, the bar and restaurant are a lovely addition and the staff have always been helpful and friendly.
- ratukula (10/5): Great - I recently stayed at Travelodge and overall had a great experience. The room itself felt a little congested, but it was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a short stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall service made the visit enjoyable. Despite the room size, I would highly recommend Travelodge for its convenience, value for money, and reliable comfort.
- Rachelhj87 (6/5): Hotel excellent for travel to Alton towers but far too hot - Hotel was great for travelling to Alton towers, however the room was far too hot which resulted in no sleep for ourselves or children. Window open for air meant the noise from the road was terrible and this also offered no cooling. Fan in room on arrival however made no difference.
- alexbuts2025 (8/5): Decent basic facility - Decent basic facility providing all what is necessary for quet business treep. Good value for money.
- georgesterrick (10/5): Newcastle under Lyme - Well maintained property next door to Lidl store handy for getting food etc. near to motorway, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast .
- TheBCfamilyof4 (4/5): Mmmm - Staff are fine, food isn't great and until Travelodge invest in aircon i won't be going back. It was a hot day and the room was baking so I didn't sleep well at all.
- leggy501 (6/5): Clean hotel, decent facilities but staff are not bothered about guests - Staff couldnt be bothered explaining where my room was, where to fond food or order breakfast.Just put the key on the counter and continied talking to each other
- cjlturner9558 (10/5): Excellent value for money - All you need in one place. Have stayed at this hotel before when visiting family and friends. It’s very convenient, comfortable, food served throughout the day and snacks available throughout the night if needed. The breakfast choice is very good and well cooked. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean and comfortable and it’s an excellent choice as a base.
- Daydream56922 (8/5): Great stay at Travelodge. - We had a very comfortable stay here. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable and parking was easy and free.
- robynmann19 (6/5): Staff very welcoming/Rooms not so great/ Avoid the breakfast - Staff very welcoming
Rooms means have been updated we’re not so great - mattress to hard for me but that’s personal preference. No soap in the dispensers. Sink blocked (only draining slowly)
Avoid the breakfast - everything seems like it’s Cooked or reheated in the microwave.
- 105kennya (4/5): REFUND PLEASE - A very poor experience having been here a number of times. There was a fire alarm very early in the morning following our visit, it was handled appallingly. Over an hour and half during which time not even a proper register was taken. There was some very distressed people. No refreshments offered, after about an hour foil blankets !!!. The offer of a desisery complimentary breakfast was an insult. Nothing short of a refund should be offered.
- ronaldh659 (8/5): Cheap but clean and welcoming - Stayed in this hotel as part of a road trip
It is unusual in that it is above a Lidl supermarket and you park in the supermarket car park.
You have to go up to the first floor to check in, there are lifts or stairs to get up there, there is a small restaurant/bar there too, but we did not use these.
We were on the 5th floor in one of the deluxe rooms, this meant we got a coffee maker, Kit Kats, a large room. It was very clean and the bed was just right for me, which means not too hard nor too soft, as always bed preference is very personal
The hotel is walking distance to the town, we did not go into the town so cannot say what there is to look at.
A basic but good hotel and would recommend if you need a cheap place to stay
- mrmoorenewest (2/5): Fire alarm all morning - Terrible stay due to fire alarm from 3 am till about 6 am. So had no sleep thanks for this really hope for a refund which ive asked for.
- zulenkhax (6/5): Better places out there - Paid around £80 for this budget hotel, very loud noises constantly. Very small rooms and bathroom. Bathroom sink was clogged. Only good thing, parking is free.
- neilcA3418HO (2/5): Never Again! - We arrived on a very hot Saturday.
In the evening a loud and persistent beat started coming from the pub across the way. It was still going at midnight when I fell asleep, and I gathered from the conversation at breakfast that it continued until1.30 am.
Shutting the windows did not really help (but it was the hottest night of the month, so that wasn't really an option - no A/C in the room). We got some sleep but were not rested.
Someone should maybe look at the pub's licence and whether its conditions are being breached.
A pity, because we have used the hotel for some years for its restaurant breakfasts, and occasionally other meals.
Otherwise it's a convenient and well kept budget hotel with lifts and a (shared) car park.
We had booked a twin-bedded accessible room. It (mercifully) had a fan, but the beds were narrow (2ft 6in max) and a bit soft, so I nearly fell out. Also the couple next door had a very noisy and possibly violent altercation which ran on til midnight but none of the staff intervened.
We'll be looking elsewhere for future stays near Stoke on Trent.
- Venture220974 (2/5): Noisy and not up to par with others - Very noisy road and music venue. Room was hot and we couldnt keep the bathroom door closed as the latch was broken
- madmoo70 (10/5): Great place to stay - Lovely, comfortable room, which was great for our stay. Two couples in rooms next door to each other which we requested in advance.
The bed was great and comfy. Rooms stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, kettle, towels, and hand/shower wash.
A perfect place for local town and to visit local areas.
Free 24/7 car park too.
- W441JOsarahn (4/5): Not the place to come if you want to sleep - The room is pleasant enough. The bathroom door didn’t close as it’s a little too small.
Don’t think we will get any sleep with music blasting from outside somewhere all evening and still going at 10:30pm. Not great when we’ve got to be up for 6am
- heathermI1271AZ (2/5): Dreadful Customer Service - Dreadful customer service, aggressive and accusing staff.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this particular Travelodge and it will be the last.
Issues of note:
1. Today both key cards failed so I left my husband (with the dog) in the 5th floor corridor while I went to get the cards fixed. It took 20 minutes for the Assistant Manager to even speak to me and at that point he accuses me of letting my dog poo on the internal stairs of the hotel. His reasoning being that we are the only dog on the 5th floor even though there are other dogs. He was aggressive and rude, leaving me very upset. He said if he saw our dog on the video footage we would be charged. Our dog has been using the lift and has not even been on the stairs. Disgusting behaviour. My husband spoke to him after, still unreasonable, when asked to see the manager he responded “Do you think he just sits in the room behind me?”. This is a customer facing job, you need to do better.
2. We are on 5th floor and have noticed noise before from the nightclub opposite, it started tonight again and I honestly wouldn’t advise staying here if you have issues with noise. It’s extremely loud.
3. Despite the fact that travelodge is no longer a cheap option, they still don’t make up rooms, when a room can cost in excess of £100 per night I would expect better.
All in all a disappointment that left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
- M4949BGstevenh (10/5): Man u 0-2 west ham United - Excellent time away we went out in Stoke for beers and on to west ham at old Trafford where west ham beat the easy 2-0 WEST HAM ARE MASSIVE EVERYWHERE THEY GO
- emmaW8135LM (2/5): Drug addict roaming the corridors - My stay was okay, room reasonably clean, staff pleasant, bit noisy above my room. But the real issue was on the second night of my stay. A man high on drugs was roaming up and down my corridor trying all the doors and shouting for help, I managed to get into my room and lock the door, but it was unsettling! I heard later this travelodge, does house drug addicts. Just something you should be aware of especially if you have children. There was no warning from the staff before I entered the corridor, even though one was with him making calls, so they were aware of the situation. This was irresponsible because drug addicts can be irrational and unpredictable and guest should have been warned of the situation and asked to wait till it had been resolved.
- littlemissbecky (8/5): Just what you need - Comfy, clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Just what you need. Tip - ask for a hairdryer at reception as it’s available but not in the room.
- Anandirin (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Staff were really good. Adam was there when we checked in he is such a lovely staff. He deserves an appreciation for his great customer service. Also I would like to mention Mr. Louise the manager he helped as a lot to make our stay memorable. I love this place . Will definitely stay again.. anyone planning for Alton tower visit I would recommend this travelodge
- CherylBlackpool (10/5): Easy to book, park and access town centre - Nicely situated in Newcastle under Lyme town centre. Next to a Lidl, so although busy plenty of room to park for free with no limits. Hotel clean, staff friendly, good nights sleep
- wonderwend2015 (10/5): Great hotel - Room clean and comfortable. Good price. Staff friendly. Tasty breakfast. Quiet in and around hotel. Easy to get to and free parking. Will be our hotel of choice in future.
- danniescott571 (4/5): Bad service - Vending machine was working as it did the night before. Spoke to staff and they just looked at me then shrugged their shoulders and continued their conversation with each other so I went back to my room. We wanted to order food once we checked out at noon to be told that the restaurant was closed for a deep clean and would be a couple of hours even though we were told on check in that it was open 24 hours. Very disappointing.
- jegored (10/5): Close to Waterworld - Very nice hotel with plenty of free parking, good location for visiting Waterworld. Room was clean and warm, good prompt service and food in the cafe even though it was quite busy with a few orders placed at the same time. Everything that was needed after a tiring day out. Thank you!
- _skyl0bby (10/5): Lovely stay - Great location, 5 minute walk away from the town centre. Lady at the front desk was very friendly and there are staff there 24/7 if you need them. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, I had no issues with noise either - it was very quiet. All in all, a decent place to stay
- Cheryl223344 (10/5): Amazing stay - Stayed a few times now, manager and team are amazing, allways go above and beyond. Plenty supermarkets around even having lidl attached to hotel. This time we walked 5 mins into town centre, was very nice.
Hotel has bar and cafe allways good food with plenty or variety.
Thank you team
- 416helenw (10/5): Second excellent stay - Second stay here it's a lovely hotel very clean with friendly and helpful staff the rooms are warm and cosy the bar/cafe is lovely they do a great breakfast there was a actor staying during our visit
- sheilah928 (10/5): Good value for money - Nice comfortable room which was quiet. Very friendly staff. Hotel looked modern and well maintained. Free parking. Lovely all you can eat breakfast with a good selection of cold and hot food and coffees. Extremely good value for money. Will definitely stay again.
- Paulajane1964 (10/5): Best Travelodge - We stayed for 2 nights, what a lovely stay it was. Room was nice, comfortable, clean, warm. Tea/coffee facilities in room. Bed was comfy. There is a 24/7 Bar and restaurant in this lodge. We ate here our first night. The food was delicious, plenty of it too !! All freshly cooked, and very reasonably priced. We couldn't eat it all !!! The staff were so very friendly and very helpful. Carl was very nice and made us feel very welcome - nothing was too much trouble . Overall - a perfect stay. Would highly recommend this Travelodge - its the best we have ever stayed in.
- jacku137 (10/5): Adam and other Staff - Adam always looks after me and my colleagues, we stay here quite often when travelling down south and will continue to as long as staff like Adam work here, food is brilliant, service is good and on time, and the resteraunt is not very busy, so don’t have to wait ages for the food.
- joehW6506UH (10/5): It was really good - Adam who works there is amazing! Really helpful and always ensure we have the best stay he was extremely polite and always serves us with a smile.
The food is always mega aswell i really like the chicken curry with garlic flatbread and chips..
- junecletheroe (6/5): If staying here expect to do your own hous keeping - We stayed here for 3 nights . Upon arrival everything looked clean and as expected. The room was very warm so we turned the heater down to 8° to make it comfortable to sleep. However the temperature in the room remained to warm even though the heater was not on. Even with the windows closed the road noise was still loud.
The breakfast staff during our stay were very friendly and the buffet was kept well stocked. The food was of a good standard.
However house keeping staff on duty during our stay let this travelodge down.
On the Saturday we left the " Please Fill Me Up " sign on the door when we left the room the house keeping staff were then beginning working on our floor (our room was over half way down the corridor) upon arriving back in the evening the sign had been removed fro the door and was on the floor of our room. Expecting to find clean mugs and the tea coffee refilled we were surprised to realise no one had intact been in the room. My husband went down to reception to enquire why no one had been in the receptionist was most apologetic and gave him the tea and coffee required. But were still unsure why the house keeping staff were so incompetent or just plain lazy to put the sign back in the room but not top up.
Maybe the sign is only there for show and not menf to be used by guests.
My advice to anyone staying here more than 1 night is take washing up liquid a washing up sponge and a tea towel so you can clean your mug . And go to reception on your way back to your room and get the supplies you require to make yourself a hot drink. Maybe this travelodge doesn't want guests to stay more than one night at a time.
