Guest Reviews
- Jamielooner (8/5): Good location - We stayed at this hotel to go to comic con Aberdeen for the weekend , it’s in a great location and right next to McDonald’s.
The hotel car park was a decent size, the entrance to the hotel is great and clean and inviting.
The overall appearance of the room is great , lovely comfortable bed , tv however is way to small , we had a stain on the carpet floor which looked like blood ? , and the shower curtain was needing a good wash, had a few stains on it.
Lots of noise coming from the room above , no fault of their own since it was footsteps but it was very loud, and the road next to the hotel was very loud however it does come with two windows that does help but if you wanted the windows open for some fresh air ( forget about it )
Reception team were friendly and I would come back to this hotel again just since it was a great price and location and for the bed.
- 406seanc (10/5): Weekend stay - Stayed at travelodge Bucksburn last Saturday couldn't fault anything about it excellent location for p and j arena 10 minutes walk to it we r going to p and j in September booked travelodge again for it .plenty car parking space at hotel
- cameronag (2/5): Race to the bottom - Started off badly with having to pay extra to park at the hotel. Twice, once for each night's stay. Getting to public transport involved hacking through a hedge and crossing rough ground.
Wifi is limited to 30 minutes before being charged.
Tea and coffee not refreshed and cups not washed or replaced.
Not enough towels for 2 people for 2 nights and no bath mat.
- johndeans2026 (10/5): Decent Place to stay - Clean room, friendly staff, plenty parking, what more can you ask for, I stay in Travelodge Bucksburn most weeks for 2 nights and have never had any issues whatsoever, always fresh bedding and towels, TV, decent value for money
- karenbG1755XQ (10/5): Very Comfortable stay - Very pleasant and comfortable stay. Lovely room, had everything we needed. Friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Would definitely stay here again.
- Kingwaloni1974 (10/5): 100% - Cozy, clean and comfortable room. Fantastic staffs and wonderful environment. It was one of my best stays in Travelodge and I will stay there again and again all things being equal.
- 246avrilm (10/5): Winter stay in Bucksburn. - We have often used Travelodge Bucksburn. This time it was superb: everything was new-- curtains, bathroom fitments, chairs, soap dispenser. The bath had extra rails fitted which made the experience easier. Always loads of hot water and towels. We like the fact that nobody checked the room in the 4 days we were there.
The rooms are spacious, as warm as you want them to be, and have excellent double glazed windows.
The price is usually very good despite the parking charge.
There are great restaurants nearby--- Dyce Farm is the best, but Table Table at Muldurno is also excellent.
We have a daughter in a very small flat in Aberdeen. We have used Travelodge for 17 years. I must say this recent visit was our best--- despite the snowy weather--- at Bucksburn.
- Boopster26 (8/5): Great Travelodge for one night stay - Great location for a base hotel for a gig at P&J Live. Renovated room had everything we needed for a one night stay. The complimentary toiletries in the bathroom were good products.
- aanuoluwao2023 (10/5): Great value for price! - The place was place and staff were very lovely. Room was clean. Well ventilated and very comfortable for the rates charged.
- alisongJ1008JS (10/5): Great Travelodge, value for money - Quiet travelodge, felt safe.
Professional, welcoming and polite reception staff.
Updated rooms, clean and comfy beds and lovely hot water.
- jmp12869 (10/5): Newly renovated - Stayed after recent renovations to the property. Friendly welcome and easy checkin. On ground floor which was great as travelled with our dog. Lovely room nice decorations and new windows installed with blackout curtains which is about time. Good comfy bed too with a deep mattress only negative was no pillow protection and two teabags. Only need to ask at reception for more. As a budget room though highly recommend
- paulmI3385IK (10/5): Excellent - Great value and good employees quiet and can go to pub shop and McDonald’s
- W5186XDnikkih (10/5): Above and Beyond in trying weather and circumstances. - I stayed at the Travel Lodge, Bucksburn in Aberdeen on 5th and 6th January during the period of terrible snowfall which paralysed traffic for 2 - 3 days. As I drove to the Lodge I found a aged man collapsed in the snow about 30 yards from Reception but out of sight from the Lodge and managed to help get him inside where the receptionist, ALICJA, did a frankly splendid job in tending to him and summoning help. This proved to be the high tone throughout my stay and for ALICJA and her colleague ANITA nothing was too much trouble to help with, including WiFi reception, help with the parking ticket machines, directions to local amenities, advice on transport and I witnessed first hand on several occasions their professional and patient assistance of other guests of the Lodge. I commend them both highly as they are such good ambassadors of TL, and thank them both again, unreservedly, for making the stay of many of us, in very trying conditions, such a pleasure. Highly Recommended. Thank you. Adrian, Room 015.
- TheMcArthurs (10/5): Last minute trip in the snow. - What a lovely little lodge. Just stayed here with our small family, so easy to find, in a great location for traveling. Warm and friendly welcome from the girl with long black hair on backshift (sorry didn’t catch a name). Super quick check in.
Hotel room was spotless, credit to the housekeeper who turned it over that day. Rooms have clearly recently had a refit and it’s just lovely, could not find any faults at all. Well Done.
Shout out to the Hotel manager and the young boy cleaning rooms at check out. Both lovely and friendly and super polite.
Will 100% stay here again if in Aberdeen.
- TheBu65 (10/5): Good location and very clean - Bright clean and fresh rooms, polite and friendly reception staff. Room was quiet even though it’s next to a busy road. Stayed due to severe snow storm and it was perfect location for a hospital appointment the following day.
- carolinehG8038OR (10/5): Great value Travelodge - Very comfortable two night stay. Room was clean and tidy, very quiet, lovely hot water in bathroom. Staff were very attentive and friendly, large car park and a Lidl close by. Always use Bucksburn when we are in Aberdeen.
- doncS9520SZ (10/5): very good Travelodge - A very good Travelodge, warm, quiet, clean. Bathtub. Good furniture - a bit boutique. Very comfortable bed. Regular 727 buses to the city outside. Very new Lidl next door.
- juliettem771 (10/5): Lovely quiet hotel. Clean . Friendly helpful staff. Only 8mins from hospital. - Lovely quiet spacious double room . Bathroom clean . Could have done with a Shower mat in bath as was a little slippery. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. There was some litter lying around car park. But this due to public using hotel grounds as short cut from nearby macdonalds. Hotel very quiet. Stayed 3 nights for hospital visits. . Only 8 mins too hospital as didn't want to stay in town
Also dog friendly as had my dogs with me. Will be staying again next week for hospital visits.
- catherinefH3468CW (10/5): Perfection - I stayed here for one night , I really needed some peace and quiet for a night and they delivered! Although next to an airport you hardly hear anything and after 2200 there’s nothing! I had no hassle everything was straight forward , lovely receptionist , wish I got her name to personally thank her! Just a well needed tranquil break! I’d most definitely staying there again! Miss the peace already! Room was very clean and bed mega comfy! TV worked without needing a degree! Perfect! Well done travellodge
- aberdeeno (10/5): Excellent stay once again - Staff were friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and have recently been nicely renovated.
Will definitely be back.
- Bluebell5217 (10/5): Well chuffed 😊 - What a pleasant surprise when I went back to this hotel..It had been revamped throughout..even the windows where clean lol only thing that let's it down is that carpet ..dont know why there wasn't a new one laid.
Anyway it was very clean and warm when I went in which was good as they had put heater on in room
Very quiet to and thicker curtains on windows I noticed ..new furniture and the desk top looks new too with also charger points for phones .
Price was very reasonable too.
Plus having McDonald's a 2 min walk away is a bonus too .
- Lebowski33 (2/5): Car park was lethal. - It had snowed the day before we had arrived. No effort had been made to either clear or grit the car park. The snow had frozen over and was just ice. It was extremely slippy, both me and my son almost fell. Being in this area the staff/management should be used to this kind of weather and have appropriate actions in place.
- douglasmG5803EH (10/5): Excellent - We were very impressed with the staff and the rooms. Have stayed elsewhere and have to say Travelodge was much cleaner and the staff were more helpful. Would recommend highly. I know we will definitely go back.
- Wicker222 (10/5): Excellent budget hotel - This hotel is excellent value for a short stay in Aberdeen. Quiet location yet near a large supermarket which was very useful. Rooms are clean, and check-in was very quick. Plenty space in the car park. Would definitely return.
- jhR5313GW (10/5): Highly satisfied - Excellent value for money, clean with hospitable staff.
Bed was super comfy. Handy for breakfast at nearby Macdonalds.
And outside the LEZ if your vehicle like mine does not comply.
- N796HWchristopherp (10/5): Clean, warm, quiet & great location. - The motel has been recently fully refurbished to a high standard.
The bedroom and bathroom were immaculately clean.
The bed was very comfortable with crisp clean white bedding. I have absolutely no complaints about any aspect of my three day stay.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
Furthermore parking is plentiful and situated directly adjacent to the building.
I would highly recommend this site.
- I977JQchristineb (10/5): Travelodge new level! - I book Travelodge frequently. I was absolutely delighted at the standard of this hotel room lovely decor, meticulously clean. Travelodge seems to be on a whole new level now. Very impressed.
- W5134UMdavidf (10/5): Weekend trip to see Rogue competition in p&j live - We came Thursday 30th Oct till Monday 3rd Nov, refurbished hotel looks good.
Especially like to mention Olivia on front desk who helped with a smooth check in and also Sian who helped us out as well, both very polite and professional
- hazybain52 (10/5): Family time - Great location for us as family Living in surrounding area ,always book this travel lodge when visiting, friendly staff clean rooms as a housekeeping supervisor myself never found any issues
- jimlove39 (10/5): Great value for money - My expectations weren't high but I was pleasantly surprised. Conveniently placed near TECA and bus connection to city centre, as well as some small shops and food outlets.
- Maclynson (10/5): Excellent budget hotel convenient for TECA - We stayed at the Bucksburn Travelodge recently with our 2 boys to see the Hotwheels show at TECA. We were in a family room which was clean and spacious. Check in was simple and staff were welcoming. Parking is only a few pounds and we got a space no problem. We were less than a 10 min walk to Four mile inn where we had dinner and then another 5 mins along to TECA. A very convenient hotel for events here, a fraction of the price of other hotels and McDonald’s is next door for breakfast. Well done Travelodge!
- offawol (10/5): Better at Bucksburn - Staff at Bucksburn, Aberdeen , were superb. Friendly, and vey helpfull, which ,on arrival was a great introduction to my restfull time there with a spotless room and a comfortable bed. Easy to find and drive to, with a bus stop a couple of minutes away, if needed, was ideal. Away from city centre chaos, I have stayed many times and will.continue to.do so. Well.done Bucksburn !
- Y4640IRkarenk (10/5): Great place to stay. - This was a lovely travelogue to stay in.
We stayed in a family room which had plenty room with an en- suite bath and shower. It cost us £80. Which was exceptional value for what we got.
Would definitely stay here again.
- crosbiemarian9 (8/5): Attentive staff compensate for heavy doors - It was made possible by very considerate and amenable staff. They took great interest in ensuring the room was clean and accessible as it could be including assisting with luggage on arrival and departure. Otherwise the heavy non-automated entrance doors and corridor and room fire doors And Carpets would have totally mod the ease with which I could mobilise in my wheelchair
- 391bryced (8/5): Well placed for airport - Excellent experience just a shame about the parking charge. Friendly staff, clean room, clean hotel.
- rubyr0se7 (10/5): Would definitely stay here again - Staff so pleasant and helpful. Rooms and bathroom spotlessly clean. Rooms etc had recent upgrade. Location excellent for travelling into city and surrounding areas. Definitely have no reservations to staying here again.
- cbrown244 (6/5): Overcharged - Charged £14 more from carpark to reception!!! Checked online in my car then walked to reception to be told price was £14 dearer!!!! Totally wrong
- VivienLeigh68 (10/5): Clean and comfortable hotel - Stayed in a double room for 3 nights. Both the bedroom & bathroom were clean. Rooms contained tea & coffee, TV, hand wash and shower gel.
All the reception staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is quiet and the beds are comfortable.
- B8657YZsarahj (4/5): Bring earplugs and dont be selfish - Staff are amazing and the room was great...if youre staying here stop banging your room door and letting your kids run up and down the corridor..this is a hotel not your home.
People talking loud in corridor early in morning and late at night so selfish. People upstairs stomping around letting their kids run around...
Yobs outside knocking on windows had to keep curtains shut constantly. Stay was ruined by other people not the hotel itself.
- Connector559424 (10/5): Lovely refurbishment with friendly staff, would definitely stay again. - This was our third time staying at Bucksburn Travelodge and was pleasantly surprised when we checked in as thought we had been given an upgrade. We learned that the hotel had recently been refurbished and is looking lovely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. All in all, it made our stay even better.
- FarAway65288341798 (10/5): Happy customer - We stayed in Aberdeen Bucksburn for 5 days during our summer camp and it was a great experience, the staff are accommodating, very helpful and special thanks to manager Alicia, the hotel is clean , the bed is comfy and location is great too as it’s just next to McDonald and Lidl which is a bonus , definitely will be staying there again next time , very satisfied especially when it comes to hotel price, thank you
- W1172BRneilm (8/5): Great place to stay when visiting Aberdeen. - Friendly, welcoming staff at reception. Our room was very clean and well equipped. Great value for money. Ideal location for visiting Aberdeen and the north-east.
- TopGunmechanic (10/5): Great place to stay for the night whilst passing through - Easy access off main road, easy to find, massive car park, lovely warm room with plenty of pillows in the room, Bed so comfortable didn’t want to get out off it, way to find something to eat, supermarket near by & can’t wait to stay again in the near future
- lizk710 (2/5): Don’t use unless you have to - I had to stay here twice recently for hospital visiting. The first stay I was caught up in the nightmare of refurbishment going on whilst the hotel remained open. The second stay a few days later at least the workmen had gone, but the overall impression remained poor. Inside and outside it all is a bit shabby. The corridors are incredibly narrow and there is no lift. The rooms were clean but cramped and the bathroom was basic with a very short bath and over bath shower. The anti slip on the bath in both my rooms was worn and ineffective. I ended up buying a cheap bath mat to use. The fan in both bathrooms was not working. The car park is paying, £3 a day, you have to do it online and register your car on a tablet at the desk. The car park and grounds are used as a cut through to MacDonalds which is nearby and at night crowds of youths hang around making it feel unsafe. Dual carriageway 20 metres away as well as the end of the airport runway making it very noisy day and night. I would not recommend unless you really have to.
- Leemcquade1990 (4/5): Room ok, staff and building poor - Massive piles of rubbish in car park and piled against entrance as in the middle of a renovation when we arrived. Electric cut off multiple times during stay and staffs response was that the workmen were responsible to inform guests this would happen, no apology
Had to get room key reactivated each time the electric was cut off to gain access to room which seemed to annoy the receptionist who had to fix this for us
- richardmuller2024 (10/5): Great place to stay for different purposes like: shopping, hospital visits, or just relaxing. - My wife and I are regular visitors of this hotel, but this time we really got a lovely surprise, the hotel had been done up. The reception area had been improved , the rooms had been overhauled. New beds, with new mattresses, new lino flooring in the bathroom , new worktops, new bedside cabinets, new usb sockets near the beds for
phone charging etc. new curtains, fantastic job. This travelodge is ideal for plane and helicopter watching as all planes and helicopters fly over the hotel to reach the airport. It is also close to ARI Royal infirmary ideal if you have an appointment at the hospital or you have treatment at the hospital and wish to recover at the hotel before driving home. (If you live a distance away from the hospital) it is also not far to to most shopping areas, Only one negative to mention: is the Macdonalds store next door attracts, a lot of youths and teenage boy racers in noisy cars, But other than that we love this place. The staff are always very friendly and very helpful too.
- Verified traveler (6/5): False advertising - Breakfast/Parking NOT included - Hotel was fine BUT details misleading:
Breakfast was advertised as included but this is charged at £5.75 extra per person.
Parking was advertised as included but this is charged at £3.00 extra.
Small extras but that difference in our shoestring budget could have afforded us a nicer B&B with these things included in the price if we’d have known at point of booking that we’d have to pay extra.
- HazelY718 (8/5): Excellent value for money - Great location for our purposes. Great value for money. Noisy main road at one side. Carpark very messy due to people walking through it.
- Sightseer717394 (8/5): Travelodge Bucksburn Aberdeen excellent Value for money - Excellent Value for Money.Four nights for £130 Total included the £12 parking charge.Convenient for Food outlets (Mc donalds,Rayn's) and Lidl all 2 minutes on foot. Bus stop 2 minute walk with bus direct into Aberdeen.Good TV,Good bed and bathroom.Plenty of top ups for tea/coffee.On airport flightpath but room well soundproofed.Seemed to be a thoroughfare for pedestrians thru. car park but no real problem. All staff excellent.Would book again no problem.but book at least 2 weeks in advance for best prices. If I had booked day before, would have cost £260.
- F1301UJfredr (10/5): Excellent 2 Night stay - We arrived on Friday the 13 June around 4 pm the check in was hassle free and even with giving details of my wife’s Blue Badge to cover the parking for the 3 days that we were staying. Our room was number 1 and right beside the entrance to the ground floor so no Stairs to overcome. The room was excellence clean, and all the equipment was in very good order. I might have we did have our Collie with us and that want a issue either. There was a Lidi store close by. Which was handy to replace milk etc. Only one point I want to make is that signage to the travel lodge on the busy double carriage way should be bigger and move a bit further away from the entrance to the hotel allowing time to move into the correct lane otherwise an excellent stay apart from the weather
- Karen (8/5): - Hotel room very basic only one plug outlet and no usb outlets but room very clean and comfortable
- AaronAzzy29 (6/5): Meh. - Slightly firm pillows which for me is a rare treat in a Hotel. £25 for a huge room is grand! Working TV and good location.
However, room needing a refurb due to wear and tear on the Chairs and cracks on the Countertop & sinks.
Wifi - 30mins free then onto payment which Is wierd?... if you're staying for a few nights then it's an issue. £3 for 24hrs as advertised (in reality is £3.50!).
Wifi should be complimentary for 24hrs.
- shonawilliams (10/5): Great place to stay - We enjoy staying at Bucksburn, always friendly helpful staff. The beds are comfy and the hotel is not noisy. Looking forward to seeing the refurb next time we are there.
- leehR5758OS (8/5): Aberdeen 1 night stay - The rooms are clean and tidy the only let down was you had to pay for the parking but a very pleasant stay for the night if you don't mind the eating fast food is McDonald's or snacks there is a patrol station just up the road walking distance of the hot hotel I will stay there again.
- Thaisun79 (10/5): Lovely hotel close to amenities. - The hotel is close to bus stops, p&j, shops, and the 4 mile bar/restaurant. Rooms are basic, but comfortable, everything you need. Easy check-in and check-out. Well worth the money. Will certainly use this hotel again. Highly recommend for a budget hotel that has everything you need, and 10 mins from P&J live.
- ianmumby (6/5): Just a bed for the night! - If you just want a one night overnight stay for business as I did, this is an option. Don’t be upset that the only restaurant in walking distance is McDonalds because the pub next door has shut down.
- robfal71 (10/5): Robert F - Good stay and the pub/restaurant up the road was good and you get a discount when you tell them that you are staying at the hotel
- 944jop (8/5): Value for money - Clean hotel even if some of the furniture is a bit tired looking. But its 15/20min to city centre or airport in other direction. Decent hotel for the price
- Brian (6/5): - When we booked our stay we thought we had breakfast included.it does say breakfast included when booking. When you get there you have to £5,90 for a takeaway breakfast in a tub. Room was clean and tidy bed was comfortable. Few planes and helicopters do wake you up early though
- MagK17 (8/5): Dog friendly budget hotel - Hotel was easy to find. Parking is £3 for 24 hours.
Room was clean and big enough for family of 4.
2 minute walk to McDonalds, Lidl (supermarket) and Four Mile Inn (pub restaurant that gives 10% off for TL guests).
Some reviews mention plane noise - hotel is on a flight path but double windows and very little noise heard by us (maybe 5 flights passed during our 24 hour stay).
Good space to get dog to the toilet too right outside the hotel.
Only downside was some issues with hotel external (some broken glass, litter, what appeared to be spillage or sickness out a window) but I reported these to Travellodge online who said they would action immediately. Suggest Management does the occasional walkaround the hotel exterior.
All in all - would definitely stay again for the best value in Aberdeen.
- ianmN6809IM (8/5): Its ok, no too bad, nice staff - Staff are fine and friendly, room was ok, no amazing but ok. It was clean enough but there are s a distinct lack of plugs, no plugs next to the bed meant that mt CPAP machine was plugged in at the other side of the room. This made things awkward.
There is a great wee place to eat a two-minute walk away called the four mile pub. Food basic but ok and a takeaway just next door.
Its a basic wee place, if your just passing through it does the job.
- mumox10 (6/5): Bed comfy, over charged no soap to wash hands or body - Bed comfortable. No hand soap in sink dispenser and no shower gel in bath dispenser. Two half used toilet rolls.
Had to pay for parking on a room I expected to be £33 but was charged £64. With £3 for parking in a car park littered with broken windscreen glass. One chair in the room which looked like the mice had chewed the arms. No glasses or plastic cups in bathroom.
Not at all happy
- karma692025 (8/5): For the moaners - very comfortable and quiet nights stay. no issues with the cleanliness of the room. no noise from the nearby airport. no dining facilities, but not a problem with takeaways nearby.
A good nights stay and cheap to boot
- johnnyp836 (10/5): Good basic but clean accommodation. - Good basic but clean accommodation. Not far off AWPR so easy access to Aberdeen or NE corner of Aberdeenshire.
Not the worst Travelodge we've stayed in (probably in 2nd place behind Elgin - but that's brand new!)
Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Rooms clean. Can't complain for <£30 per night
- michelleyZ4344UQ (10/5): Stayed for hospital visits for farther- inlaw - Stayed here as my father-in law when he was in hospital the staff was so helpful and friendly would recommend them to friends and family it was great value for money was very clean was a little noisy but it was close to airport didn't hear any at night close to macdonalds and lidls
- Davina (6/5): Okay for a one night stopover - Booked a family room which turned out to be a small double bed with a pull out bed underneath. Not what we needed and had a sleepless uncomfortable night. When we booked it said breakfast was included, not the case which was disappointing. Probably won't stay here again.
- EuanL149 (2/5): Parking charge scam. - Charged £51 for parking, absolutely ridiculous fees and we were not informed of this at checkin. I now can easily see how they make their rooms so cheap. Horrendous practice! The room is ok and will change review if this charge is reversed. We're just really disappointed.
- CulbokieBlackIsle (10/5): A very peaceful night in perfect comfort. - We enjoyed our stay at the Travel Lodge very much. The room was excellent, clean, well furnished and very quiet. We look forward to staying here again.
The staff were extremely helpful and provided us with a map of the local area as well as accurate directions.
- anonX2070DM (8/5): It has improved since 2024. - Stayed many times in 2024 and stopped due to constant smell of cigarette smoke coming from rooms and also cannabis / grass smells & smoke in corridors. These smells and smoke permiate through to other rooms hence I stopped staying there. I gave it another try and it seems they are monitoring the internal smoking issue as there was no smoke or smells and overall the hotel feels cleaner. I hope they keep up with their current cleanliness levels. Parking of £3 per night is a rip off. Staff are generally friendly and helpful.
- grahamemurdoch (8/5): Family visit to Aberdeen - Although room was basic , very clean, Large comfortable bed. Warm , Good shower.Tea , coffee facilities,Good value.
- Bluebell5217 (4/5): Family visit - I arrived around 9.30ish pm and I asked for extra milk as I love my cuppa teas only to be told there was none..wasn't happy at that and the guy on reception found that funny to which I replied that I would report this directly to manager and send email to Travelodge..then he suddenly produced a carton of milk from the "breakfast boxes"
WHY couldn't they done that in 1st place... ???
There pillows have changed again ..Felt like bricks . Hardly slept..
And NO body wash in the showers...
Apart from that . Room was ok ..
Only good thing was going for breakfast at McDonald's..a 5 min walk to it .
- Selina (6/5): - Advertised to have breakfast but didn’t get it
- Charles (8/5): - Hotel was fine.
Hotels.com were awful, stating breakfast was included when I booked, when the hotel didn’t do breakfast.
When I tried to complain, they disabled my typing.
- Yvonne (8/5): - Nettes zuvorkommendes Personal. Laut, weil in Flughafennähe
- Rudy Shaun (10/5): - The hotel itself is very comfortable, especially for a budget hotel. The comfy bed & powerful shower definitely a reason to return. Though it was the staff, specifically the Supervisor Alicja that impressed the most, catering to our every need without fail or hesitation!
