- Mouton (10/5): - Was a very great expierience thank you so much. Beautiful room and very friendly staff. Thank you so much

- HEIDI (10/5): Great Stay in Colesberg - I had the perfect stopover at The Barracks on my way to visit my children in Potchefstroom. I absolutely loved the rich history of the beautiful old building — it adds so much character to the stay.
The room was spacious, with good quality linen and a lovely, well-appointed bathroom. One of my favourite features was the private outdoor sitting area, surrounded by lush greenery from the garden — such a peaceful and relaxing space.
Coffee and tea were provided, which is always appreciated. I also had some frozen food for my children, and the owners were incredibly helpful in offering freezer space in their home — such a kind and thoughtful gesture, thank you!
The location is very convenient, close to restaurants. I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Inni Kraal Restaurant, and even as a woman travelling on my own, I felt completely comfortable walking there from the accommodation.
I would definitely recommend The Barracks and would happily stay there again.

- BEVERLEY (8/5): - Friendly and helpful welcome. Stay was comfortable. Despite the rain on our arrival, Mike offered us umbrellas and we were able to walk up the road and enjoy a goid but a little pricy meal. The mattress was a little lumpy but was tired so it wasn't a problem
Shower head needs replacing.

- ingrid (10/5): A beautiful old house in a small country town. -
- Ilse de Haas (9/5): - Spacious room, comfortable bed, great shower and safe parking. Nothing
- Lorraine (6/5): - The matress on the bed. All these guest houses in the karoo seem to have foam matresses, I have not found one with a decent matress yet. I wake up multiple times a night with numb areas of my body. And you genuinely want a good night's sleep for the second day driving or it defeats the purpose, you might as well drive straight through and sleep comfortably on a posturpaedic matress when you get there. Matress.
- Lauren (9/5): The hosts were super helpful in accommodating me as a solo female traveller with a fully laiden car. Secure parking, com -
- Gary (8/5): Loved the stay and would recommend. - The history of the old Barracks was very interesting and gave one the sense of being in an old British barracks. Our hosts were very warm and engaging. Three minor items that could be improved on - the variable speed of the roof fan in the bedroom did not work - so it was either on or off and not possible to moderate the airflow. The step up between the bedroom and bathroom is abnormally high and a real concern in the dark. The breakfast spread was varied and generous, but too large and hence a little pricey - would suggest two price levels - full breakfast and half breakfast or continental breakfast. My partner eats like a bird!
- Debbie (10/5): Excellent lodge - Communicative, helpful and respectful owners.
- Sebastiaan (10/5): -
- Frederich (9/5): -
- Kunfermann (10/5): - Most everything, especially the free bottle of wine. The beds were antic, and fit the interior perfectly.
- Ellaine (8/5): Nice and comfortable. - Friendly and helpfull staff Nice location close to a very nice restaurant.
- Rakeesha (8/5): - Location, friendliness, Dean assisted in keeping my stuff in his freezer. He was accommodating. The shower was very tiny and dark. The room was very old fashioned, The wooden floors needed TLC. A tray and kettle was placed on the var fridge, a side table would have been appreciated. The rug was very old and needed replacement. The room was very small and congested.
- Sarah (8/5): Comfortable and convenient. - The Barracks is a comfortable stop over. It is in easy walking distance to a restaurant. The air con was working well; the beds were comfortable and Mike the host was friendly and helpful. There is secure parking on site. Great value for money.

- Kym (9/5): Fantastic stay for the night passing through Colesberg. - Hosts were so wonderful and welcoming. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and cosy.

- Noxy (1/5): If you are black or white but despite racism stay away from this place. These people have no clue on how to treat their - The owners are racists and extremely rude infact if you are black please stay away from this establishment The owners are racists and extremely rude
- Manesi (10/5): - Loved everything Nothing
- Engelbrecht (10/5): -
- Claudia (8/5): Experienced part of history of Colesberg… very helpful hosts and will visit again. - Interesting history and I liked the way authenticity preserved. A blast from the past! Lovely leafy private patio. Good security. Hosts very helpful. Alot of steps and uneven surfaces… but part of the character of the place.
- Wayne (10/5): Best overnight in Colesberg. - Always such a pleasure to stay at The Barracks. We’ve stayed many times now and Mark & Annelie are just superb. The food was, as always, absolutely delicious. Dessert is just too much! A very restful and relaxing stay as always. The beds and shower are just incredible for the best night’s sleep. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
- Grant (10/5): -
- Nico (8/5): Convenient, well located value for money. - Friendly staff. Well equipped room. Great location. Consider block out curtains, especially the window above the door.
- Jenny (9/5): -
- Elsabé (10/5): - Everything
- Annamarie (9/5): 100 % met my expectation - I must be honest. was sceptical since my previous stay in Oudtshoorn was not that safe and private. I was and again travelling alone felt unsettled because there were lots of people hanging around in the streets on my way, but the destination location of The BARRACKS is very quiet, safe and relaxing. The owner was waiting and met me at the gate. I will definately stay there again. I was 100% happy
- Pip (10/5): -
- Pip (10/5): Perfect stopover - Location perfect, host fantastic, even bought us some wine glasses and a wine cooler and Ice. Nothing

- Maureen (10/5): -
- Johnny (8/5): - Very friendly!
- Sharon (8/5): - Very welcoming. Comfortable rooms, nice sized room and bathroom. Secure parking.
- clive (9/5): great owner /staff.. Mike had some history to share and great advice on dinner - easy access to highway bath room access , raised floor makes the entry tricky into the bath room
- Dave (8/5): -
- van Emmenes (9/5): -
- sherrill (8/5): -
- Bosworth (8/5): -
- Paula (10/5): - The owners were very friendly and there was a restaurant within walking distance.

- Peter (9/5): A quick stay in Colesburg - The Barracks was perfect for what we needed - a quick stopping point that was clean, comfortable, safe, warm, friendly - and an excellent restaurant/ bar just a few minutes walking distance away. I particularly enjoyed the hefty folder of history of the place and surrounding area!
- Stewart Milton (8/5): Great stopover - Convenient for a stopover on the way from CT to Joburg. Friendly. Nice characterful room. It was a bit cold, but -1⁰C outside, so to be expected!
- De Jong (10/5): Welcoming, friendly, comfortable, wonderful stay - The accommodation was great! The hosts were fantastic, so helpful and welcoming! N/A

- Nastassia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wayne (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (9/5): Bliss - Mike & Annelie were there to meet and welcome us as our vehicle stopped in front of the property.
The comforting touches like the warm cosy bedroom, electric blanket on the bed, bathrobes behind the bathroom door, port in the decanter with two small glasses set up outside to set the scene, etc. makes the overnight stay feel like home away from home.
It is also central and within walking distance from the Inni Kraal Restaurant, which is phenomenal.
And then the fresh wholesome breakfast provided in the morning.
It was bliss and we will be back.
Many thanks

- Atkinson (8/5): It was like stepping back in time, surrounded by lots of interesting things. Friendly hosts. - A lovely old historic building with lots of charm. The room was comfortable and the hosts friendly. The chairs in the room were not very comfortable or easy to get in and out of - just a small thiing!
