- Robert (10/5): Afslapning - Det første værelse vi havde var i et betonhjørne hvor vores udsigt var direkte ind i en betonvæg, ikke fedt. Vi fik et andet mod et beløb de sidste dage vi havde. Poolen er god med et indslag af lokale dyr, vi nød den om eftermiddagen. Stranden er god, et fint udvalg af fine restauranter, I finder selv den i synes er bedst. Vi gik igennem junglen til den anden, hvor vi så masser af små hajer. Vi prøvede også turen over højderyggen, hvor stranden vender mod den anden ø. Turen var drøj og vi tog en båd tilbage til hotellet. Personalet var venlige og var årsagen til vores gåture på øen. Hvis man spiser på hotellet er priserne lidt højere end langs stranden men ganske fin mad, igen dejligt personale. Vi tog en tur med båd og snorkel, husk sololien osse på ryggen og fik set en del fisk og ikke mindst 3 skildpadder. Dejligt sted at slappe. Wifi når ikke ud til alle værelser men man sidder fint i receptionen og har et godt signal. Vi fik det fedeste tordenvejr den sidste aften med masser af flotte lyn.
- Sébastien (4/5): - Hôtel plaisant mais avec plein de fausses notes; un dîner buffet cher pour une qualité des plats très médiocres (viandes et crevettes mal cuites, purée et pâtes en accompagnement 🙄), Un petit déjeuner jusqu’à 10h, mais il n’y a plus de pancakes dès 8h30, les plats ne sont pas tenus au chaud, et les clients qui vident les stocks en remplissant des sacs ne sont pas embêtés par le staff… Enfin, notre enfant a été aspiré par une buse de la piscine et a vécu une expérience traumatisante et marqué physiquement par une énorme ecchymose. Le staff n’a alors rien fait de plus que nous donner une crème et s’excuser.
- Simone (6/5): - Gut hat uns das Frühstück gefallen. Leider nur eine einzige Marmeladezu Auswahl. Die Anlage an sich ist schön. Neue Stühle im Rezeptions- und Restaurantbereich. Dieses Resort wäre ausbaufähig. Die Zimmer riechen leicht modrig, da sollte dringend etwas gemacht werden. Außerdem wird unweit der Anlage Klärwasser? (riecht nach verfaulten Eiern) ins Meer geleitet. Überhaupt dürften alle Anlagen die sich am Strand befinden das Müllproblem angehen. Da steckt Malaysia noch in den Kinderschuhen.....
- Miguel (4/5): - El personal de recepción excelente, siempre dispuestos a ayudar y resolver cualquier problema. Cogimos una habitación con terraza en primera línea de playa. No estaba mal, aunque se nota un mantenimiento deficiente, especialmente en el cuarto de baño (óxido, goteras). La limpieza, muy justita. La piscina muy sucia con algas. Decidimos no bañarnos por precaución. Pero lo que no es de recibo es que el hotel tenga en la parte trasera un estanque de aguas residuales, aguas completamente sucias y malolientes (según algún local, son las aguas del propio hotel) que vierten a la playa justo delante de la habitación nuestra. El olor es a veces insoportable y desde luego la playa está contaminada por este vertido. No parece muy aconsejable bañarse allí. Podría ser un gran hotel si se resolvieran estos problemas pues el lugar es paradisiaco.
- Karima (8/5): Super Personnel - Le Personnel est super sympa, toujours désireux d'apporter des réponses ou solutions, c'est le gros point fort de l'hôtel !!! Hôtel très joli, a proximité direct de la plage. Restaurant de l'hôtel moyen... mais dépanne bien. Cadre et piscine sympa.

- Beth (8/5): - We had an enjoyable stay at the Arwana. Staff at the front desk were helpful and accommodating. The pool and restaurant area are well presented with lots of greenery and shaded areas. The local food was really tasty.
- Gilles (6/5): Nous ne conseillons pas trop - À première vue l'hôtel est beau mais il s'agit d'un bloc de béton sans grande végétation et sans charme particulier. La plage est la moins jolie de l'ensemble des plages des deux îles et l'eau est peu profonde donc si la marée est basse en journée lors de votre séjour, vous ne pourrez pas vous baigner dans la mer , dommage... Pas de vente de boisson avec alcool, encore dommage... Petit déjeuner satisfaisant. Buffet du dîner, cher pour ce qui est proposé, préférez la carte. La bouteille d'eau est vendue 10 ringgits aux clients alors qu'elle est vendue 5 partout ailleurs sur l'île . Pour la propreté, nous avons garder nos tongs pour prendre la douche car même avec de la bonne volonté les matériaux de sol ( galets pour la douche et plastique à trous pour la salle de bain) ne permettent pas un nettoyage hygiénique correct. Nous avons trouvé un élastique à cheuveux dans la douche en arrivant donc le processus de nettoyage est sans doute à revoir .. Literie de bonne qualité, et électricité stable avec bonne climatisation. Pas de chaises pour l'extérieur des chambres, ni en bord de mer ( aucun transat mis à part quelques un à la piscine ) pas de cendriers pour les fumeurs donc des mégots qui traines ... Nous ne conseillons donc pas trop
- paul (4/5): - Arwana is a very overpriced and really outdated resort. When you pay close to 600 euro's for four night i expect alot more. On arrival we were told the restaurant was open till nine pm. We went there at a little past eight pm and were refused by the staff. Not because it was full but the chef was to busy. I counted only five tabels being seated. Wow! The breakfast buffet was also terrible. Flies everywhere on the food. Warm fruit , moldy cupcakes. Unbaked bread rolls. Only thing edible were the omelets. Even the coffee was terrible. The swimmingpool was green and very dirty. Everything looked really uninviting. The staff all looked unhappy and were working from early in the morning untill late at night. I know having no wifi is not the end of the world. But the fact there is only wifi in the lobby is not acceptable for these kind of prices. All and all it was a very dissapointing experience. Later we stayed in an other resort on the small island and that was fantastic an even cheaper.
- Marinus (6/5): - Het ligt op een prachtig eiland met geweldige plekken om te snorkelen. Het resort heeft een prima ontbijt, goed zwembad, fijne bedden. Minder goed, smerige badkamer, geen stoelen bij het zwembad.
- Catalina (8/5): Días de descanso - El mejor hotel de la playa. Vimos comentarios negativos a cerca de la limpieza y para nada, todo impecable. La habitación mejor de lo que esperábamos. Tienen actividades a muy buen precio en el hotel. Además, se puede comer y cenar en el restaurante del hotel.

Service de restauration très bon même si parfois pas toujours facile de se faire comprendre. Chambres et literies convenables et propres. Salle de bain ayant besoin d'une rénovation.
- Sandra (2/5): - Leider war die Unterkunft gar nicht gut! Die Zimmer sind okay, aber der Service ist eine Katastrophe! Reinigung der Zimmer erfolgt nur oberflächlich und man muss auch mehrfach darum bitten, damit es überhaupt gereinigt wird! Wenn es dann gereinigt wird, wird das Bad nicht sauber gemacht, nur neue Handtücher werden hingelegt, die Betten gemacht und der Boden oberflächlich gekehrt. Bei uns wurde kein Toilettenpapier aufgefüllt und die Mülleimer nicht geleert, obwohl wir ein Baby dabei hatten, was Windeln brauchte. Der Pool ist so verdreckt, dass wir die Kinder nicht reingelassen haben aus Sorge, sie könnten krank werden. Denn eine Pumpe gibt es nicht. Das dreckige Wasser wird morgens improvisiert gereinigt. Zu allem Überfluss hatte ich dann auch noch verschimmelte Backwaren beim Frühstücksbuffet entdeckt. Als ich mich mitsamt der verschimmelten Backware an der Rezeption beschweren wollte, fand das eine Rezeptionistin nur lustig. Generell hatte man das Gefühl, dass dem Personal alles ziemlich egal ist. Auf Nachfrage sagte man uns, es gäbe keinen Manager nur die Angestellten… Diese Angestellten bewohnen die selben Zimmer, wie die man auch gebucht hat auf der selben Etage. Das Hotel ist 20 Jahre alt und sehr abgewohnt. Würde es niemanden empfehlen! Da gibt es am selben Strand weitaus bessere Unterkünfte, die auch noch viel günstiger sind!

- Loann (10/5): - Nous avions passés l’un des meilleurs séjours depuis notre arrivé en Malaisie. Le staff est super accueillants, serviable, et très souriant. Le spot est reposant, avec un paysage incroyablement pittoresque ! Nous nous sommes réconciliés avec la nourriture, car très frais, assaisonnés et assez variés. De plus Le petit déjeuner était top ! Alors ça à été une très belle expérience pour notre part.

We also appreciated the restaurant who gave great support so we could avoid certain food ingredients (allergy). It would be nice with some more relaxing chairs in the shade both around the pool but also with a sea view (in front of the breakfast restaurant).

- Diána (10/5): A sziget egyik legszebb partszakasta - Imádtuk, hogy a szálloda közvetlenül a parton van – az alsó lépcsőket szó szerint elérik a hullámok. A szoba tiszta, naponta gondosan takarítják és szépen beágyaznak. A reggeli bőséges és finom, a tojást sütő lány mindig kedves és mosolygós volt. Egy kellemes, kb. 10 perces sétával elérhető a Flora Bay másik vége, ahonnan úszva megközelíthető a Shark Point. A szálloda mögötti 'Jungle Trekking' táblától pedig egy kb. 25 perces ösvény vezet át a PIR-re, ahol teknősökkel úszhatsz – szúnyogriasztó erősen ajánlott!"
- Cecilia (2/5): - The hotel owner has very restrictive policies: no room service, no alcohol allowed (not even if you buy your own in a nearby store), no beach towels, no beach chairs, no food in between hours, no money exchange, no payment with card for extra activities/services, no table service at breakfast (you have to lay the table yourself), no hand towels, etc etc etc. It was an awful experience, the only possitive outcome of this stay was the big room and the views (we were on the beach), but even so, the sleep quality was BAD because the power generator makes a lot of noise. Mi best advide is to skip this property.

- Eliza (10/5): - As a family with children aged 10 and 12, we absolutely loved this resort. The pool was invaluable to be able to have time for ourselves to relax as well as the children. Buffet was great and the manager was amazing. Our children loved watching the baby reef sharks swimming next to the jetty out the front of the resort. Would highly recommend to both couples, individuals or families as they offer something for everyone.

- Beatrice (10/5): - Super hotel sur une superbe plage dans une magnifique grande baie isolée, avec la jungle derrière. Magnifique vue depuis le grand hall de l’hôtel ouvert sur la plage, face a l’embarcadère donc pratique. Joliment décoré, grande et belle piscine, dommage que l’eau ne soit pas très propre, ils la nettoient tous les jours mais ça doit manquer de traitement de fond… Grande chambre un peu sombre, chaude mais il y a la climatisation. Pas pratique pour faire sécher ses vêtements et serviettes mouillés. Personnel très gentil. Petit déjeuner buffet très varié et copieux. Belle grande plage propre. Super séjour au bout du monde !

- Francesca (8/5): - L'hébergement était directement sur la plage, et était franchement très beau. Les chambres sont grandes et le personnel super dispo. Le Petit déjeuner bon mais un peu triste par apport la partie sucré, tout façon satisfaisante. La plage incroyable mais à 15h la mer commence à se retirer et du coup c'est impossible faire du snorkeling. Je retournerai avec plaisir, parce que le prix c'est super bon.

- Marion (6/5): Splendeur passée... - L'hôtel présente de beaux espaces, belle réception, grande piscine,belles chambres MAIS l'entretien laisse à désirer. Piscine trouble, rembardes cassées non réparées, boiseries non entretenues et peinture écaillée. Il a fallu insister lourdement pour que le ménage soit fait au moins une fois pendant notre séjour de 4 nuits et la personne qui est venue n'a balayé que l'entrée de la chambre. Le personnel est gentil, s'excuse facilement mais je ne suis pas sûre qu'il comprenne bien l'anglais ! Nous avions une chambre avec terrasse côté mer ,fort agréable mais il y avait des relans d'égouts provenant du marigot qui s'écoule juste Dommage. Petit déjeuner avec du choix mais pas de produit de qualité. Le restaurant lui a une carte très limitée. Quant à la plage, elle mériterait également d'être mieux entretenue en accord avec les hôtels voisins.

- Jorn (6/5): - Het is een mooi resort, maar niet goed onderhouden, beetje vergane glorie. Het eten van het buffet is niet bijzonder, al met al geen aanrader helaas. Wel mooi groot zwembad, maar ook dat wordt niet goed onderhouden.

- Sema (8/5): - Das Hotelzimmer und das Personal sind wirklich gut, das Hauptproblem in diesem Hotel ist die Küche. Die Speisen sind kalt, beim Frühstück kam das Essen von Vortag an. Wir konnten nur an 2 Tagen im Hotelrestaurant essen und haben es danach komplett gemieden. 1 Minute zu Fuß ist das B‘First Cafe, unglaublich lecker und frisches Essen.

- Mari (8/5): 静かな海でシュノーケリングするのにお勧め - 静かで平和な休日を過ごすならおすすめです。 私はビッグアイランドの方しか行ってませんが、スモールアイランドの方が賑やかでパーティー好きな若者やバックパッカーが多いそうで、ビッグアイランドは波も穏やか、人も少なく、家族で静かに過ごしたい人には向いてると思います。水上タクシーでシュノーケリングポイントに行くツアー（40RM) はホテルでもすぐに予約でき、さまざまなポイントに連れていってくれます。亀やシャーク、珊瑚ガーデン、魚はたくさん見られます。シュノーケリングマスクとライフジャケットは込みの値段です。部屋にWi-Fiや冷蔵庫がないのが不便ですが、ロビーにはWi-Fiあり、冷蔵庫の代わりに有料で（5RM）氷はもらえます。部屋は十分な広さがあり、割と清潔です。小さなアリンコは何匹かいますが、Gは見ませんでした。アメニティはコンディショナー入りシャンプーとバスジェルのみ。トリートメント持っていったほうが良いです。10時からと16時からの1時間ずつ計画停電があります。朝食はあまり品揃えがなく、egg ステーションはありません。スクランブルエッグが3日滞在中、1日だけ出ました。正直言ってコーヒーは美味しくなかったです。
- Moushmi (8/5): - The property is one of the best property for Besar island in the price range. Pools are great facility if you have non swimmers with you. We had kids and they just loved it. Food was good for Non Vegetarians but being vegetarian, we faced trouble. Cook helped on day 1 with good friend rice on day 1 in complimentary breakfast but that was the only 1 item we got in vegetarian food, apart from juice and tea coffee. On second day we were served something which noone liked and we left only with juice and tea/coffee. Apart from that, we did not like the policy of charging extreme for water bottles. May be the case in that part of the world of using the bottles, I would recommend increasing room rent and giving water refills for free. That would stop ruining the amazing beaches of Perhentian Islands with plastic litters.

Diving centre next door was excellent "Leisure Divers" Malay cuisine for breakfast each day was repetitive and could be better eg more fruit etc and add some western. Location was not so good in that the "beach" was mostly mud flat throughout the day with no sandy bottom and so not really suitable for casual swimming. Staff were good and friendly.

Il posto d' bellissimo di sera, con piccoli ristoranti e bar sulla spiaggia. Per fare mare meglio spostarsi di giorno con i barconi nelle spiagge vicine o nell'isola di fronte. Noi siamo stati benissimo.

- Aubion (10/5): Chambre vue sur mer. - Chambre et terrasse avec vue directe sur la mer, séjour sympa, d'autres plages sont plus belles et baignables , donc ne pas hésiter à explorer l'île. Sympa le trek dans la jungle!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Deluxe room with poolview - Nice from the outside! Inside large room, sparsely decorated. No balcony furniture. The bed and the part of the room where the bed was smelled damp and sour. Under the bed was 2cm! of dust and dirt. The bathroom was so run down and full of mould. The door had to be kept closed to not have the smell in the room. The room was dark with strange lightning. No cosy or nice feeling at all. I'm not very picky, but would never recommend it or stay there again. The pool though was nice! Reception staff nice and helpful! The staff in the restaurant very lazy, not welcoming at all, stuck up and it felt like you were bothering them if you e.g. ordered an ice cream. They sighed in front of you and tried to give the "chore" to someone else.
- oscar (8/5): BUEN HOTEL EN ZONA PRIVILEGIADA - Buena relación calidad-precio, la verdad es que la situación es privilegiada, playa tranquila, con varios lugares para comer al lado del hotel, hacer snorkel, kayak, etc. El hotel está más o menos en condiciones, la habitación cómoda, buena piscina, ideal para pasar unos días, sin grandes lujos, pero de lo mejorcito de la zona sino quieres pagar un dineral en algún resort de lujo. - Verified traveler (8/5): A good stay for a few days - The hotel is just on the beach and Nice view. Service was very good and kind staff. It was a bit sandy in our room. In general it was not very new hotel but it was comfortable and worked well for us. Had a pool and a resataurant. And there was some other places on the same beach to eat at. In general we had a nice visit.

As for the room utilities need to improve such as to provide water heater iron and iron board as well as it is basic necessity use for the guest. Toilet utilities need to be improved more.
- Ben (4/5): OK zum Übernachten ohne weitere Ansprüche - Wir waren im September für 7 Nächte im Arwana. Die Unterkunft war okay, allerdings sind Schränke (kaputte Türe) und Badezimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Sobald die Unterkunft über uns besetzt war, konnte man jeden Schritt hören. Das Frühstück war okay, allerdings sehr einseitig. Man darf keine Ansprüche an ein vielseitiges Obstbuffet haben - jeden Morgen gab es nur Wassermelone und Ananas. Der Pool war einfach voller Algen, obwohl jeden Morgen "gesäubert" wurde. Wasserwechsel wäre effektiver gewesen. Preis ist auf jeden Fall zu hoch für das was geboten wird.

- 열수 (8/5): - 산에 다니는 사람이라 괜찮았지만, 관광여행인 경우 좀 불편할 수도... 방에 냉장고가 없어서 볶은 김치등은 데스크에 양해얻고 주방에 보관해서 필요할 때마다 썼고, 컵라면은 끓인물 받아서... 햇반은 코펠 하나 갖고 가서 끓인 물 담아 사용. 사람들은 친절하고 낙천적임. 하루 두번 발전기 리셋함. EC리조트라는걸 마음에 두면 쾌적함. 수영장도 넓고^^ 바로 옆에 훌륭한 다이빙샵이 있음. 작은 섬등과는 멀어서 아주 조용함. 인터넷은 와이파이가 로비에서만 되고, 셀콤 유심인 경우 전화,데이타 잘 터진다고 함^^
- Verified traveler (4/5): The worst value for money hotel in Perhentian - Not recommended to stay in this hotel again. Everything is not up to the 3 star standard that it is supposed to be except probably the pool. Half of the staff are not friendly, rooms are not worth the price and not clean up unless being told, low water pressure in the bathroom, lack of choice for breakfast and the beach front are one of the worst spot at the island with full of rocks and dead corals.

- mathias (8/5): Nice bungalows on the beach with sea view - Resort avec beaucoup de chambres sur une magnifique plage avec en plus une belle piscine. Nous avions la chance d'être dans un bungalow sur la plage avec terrasse et vue plage. Les chambres standards (non bungalows) et les chambres donnant derrière ou côté piscine ont l'air beaucoup moins bien. Gros bémol cependant, l'absence de transat dans tout l'hotel que ce soit sur la plage ou au bord de la piscine, dommage! Resort on a beautiful beach with lots of rooms and a nice swimming pool. We had the chance to have a deluxe bungalow on the beach with sea view but all the rooms didn't seem that nice. Weakness of the hotel is the absence of deckchairs both at the swimming pool or on the beach.

- Matthew (8/5): Great location for a few days R and R. - Located on the beach. The rooms are motel style with views over the central swimming pool. The rooms are basic but are of a good size and have a/c. Hotel staff are friendly and the breakfast is acceptable for the room rate we paid.

The pool could have been cleaner but it did not stop us from swimming in it. They could do better with the creepy crawlies in the room but it did not make us uncomfortable. The staff were very welcoming and kind and made the stay very pleasant. There was a movie on every night for the guests and that was great.

- Ida H (4/5): Applies a credit card surcharge of 10% - View from the room was beautiful. The staff were helpful but seem to be "under instruction" i.e. unable to do anything more than the bare minimum. Room was very sparsely furnished (no TV so do bring books to read). however, my booking stated that the room has a desk but there's was none. It stated that there was a bus on the beach or beach taxi, please note that you must pay for it. I asked for an extra bed for our son and got a mattress on the floor of the room (which was not an extra bed - just a mattress on the floor) The food at the Arwana restaurant was good and the restaurant staff were professional - so we had all our meals there. So when we were settling our bill before billing, I found out that I could pay cash or by credit card at the Dive Shop "next door" (and that the dive shop next door takes a 10% "fee"). This 10% is daylight robbery (I know of some shops taking 2%-3% and am already unhappy about that). I will not be returning to Arwana because I am not willing to carry around hundreds of (or over a thousand) Malaysian ringgit in cash.
- Conrad (8/5): A nice place to stay with kids - The room was spacious and clean with a window facing towards a noisy jungle (it was a very nice noise though) . Breakfasts were ok with variety of Malaysian and some Western choices. Every day something else to try. Although we only had 2 breakfasts included in our stay price, they have never asked us to pay for our 5 years old kid breakfasts. We heven't had any lunch or dinner in the hotel as the prices were far too high compare to the other places on the beach. The beach was just ok, very quiet and private, a short and nice 40 minutes jungle trek to much nicer beach (you can spot massive lizards and monkeys while in this bit of the jungle, so it is a great fun for kids). The staff was very friendly. The only dissapointing thing was the pool. The water was dirty, they don't clean it and I don't think they have filters in it. Also around the pool, the rubbish was not collected for a long time.
