• Stewart (10/5): - Phu house is a very well run hotel / hostel, prices are very reasonable and the owner Josh is very helpful and accommodating, he went out of his way to assist me during my stay. The free beer every day was a nice bonus too. Everything was nice and clean and the dorm was comfy and quiet, I would definitely stay there again. There was nothing to dislike.

• Artem (4/5): Okay but... - I stayed in that place about 9 years ago when I were younger, looks like since that time place got down.. Very very strong smell of mold in the room. Rooftop bar was closed. There was no people to hang out with (maybe because it was end of the season). They asking 4% more for payment with Credit CARD. The bad was too hard

Overall, not too bad for the price. The vibe: - The Texan owner repeatedly made homophobic comments/jokes and then approached me to tell me about his "1st amendment right to say n****r". It was weird and racist - He kept complaining that the olympics was on the TV, despite plenty of people enjoying it - He seemed emotionally unstable, I felt like I had to be careful about how I responded to his "jokes" and racist comments My friend and I were uncomfortable and left the bar quite early in our first night. Avoided the bar for the rest of our 3-night stay, lucky to get a 3 tbh, but the room was on par.

• Uriah (10/5): - I knew as soon as i walked into this place i loved it. The gorilla bar was playing great music and the vibe of the regulars was terrific. If your a social person who likes to have a few drinks and mingle with people this a great place. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. For the money it is great value. The staff really makes the stay memorable. I was here for 3 nights and it felt like i knew everyone for a lot longer. “Shot out” to Alf for taking me on some late night party spots on my last night….great times 🤗😁😁

Đây là lần thứ 2 tối đến PHU HOUSE và cảm giác thoải mái như chính nhà mình. Một kỳ nghỉ quá tuyệt vời !

• Kai (5/5): - Auch wenn man weiß, dass man ein Hostel bucht, erwartet man ein gewisses Maß an Sauberkeit. Das im Zimmer spinnenweben hängen, die vermutlich mehr als 2 wochen hängen, sagt schon einiges aus. Dazu kommt dann noch, dass die Dusche im 2er zimmer keine Tür hatte, sodass man direkt das Bad geflutet hat und der Fön hat nicht funktioniert. Lage ist natürlich super und das Personal nett.

• Oliver (8/5): Partyhostel where it is easy to meet people but the hostel itself is pretty dirty and a bit run down - - Super easy to meet people - free beer 5 pm to 5:30 - friendly staff - the parties All of the following negative points were not so bad for us, because we wanted a hostel where it is easy to meet people and where some party is going on. But I think it should be mentioned because it might be a problem for some people. - the hostel itself (I mean the building) is great and has alot of potential, but it is pretty dirty and run down and broken - the room was pretty dark because there is only one window facing the inside hall of the hostel. - showers and toilets were not cleaned in days (I could tell by the empty shower bottles and used razors etc. that were lying around for days) - the flushing of half of the toilets was not working - you can hear the hostel bar in the whole building and in all rooms. Some are louder than other. It shuts down at midnight

And we were right across the street from John’s tours. There were great restaurants and massage spas very close by The have a mattress. It was just a boxspring hard as a rock. After three nights, I’m really hurting. I should have read more about this listing before I booked it. I’m traveling with my father. It’s a loud bar scene until late at night, I would’ve loved it 20 years ago.

Beds were quite comfy, the room were quiet (no outside noise) and the staff is very helpfull and nice Bathroom were a bit lower in quality, lock broken on bathroom door, toilets not so clean (because of how people use them - still frequent cleaning by the hostel)

• Sofia (1/5): Extremely disappointing stay - worst accommodation experience of my life - We rented two rooms with double beds. At check-in, the receptionist asked whether we wanted twin or double beds. Since we were couples, we all clearly said double beds. When we got upstairs, the nightmare began: one of the rooms had twin beds instead, and both rooms were absolutely filthy. There were dead insects all over the walls, including two dead cockroaches in one room. Dust was everywhere, as if the rooms hadn’t been properly cleaned in years. The fridge was disgusting, with hair inside and food leftovers underneath the door. Overall, the rooms were unhygienic and shocking. We took pictures of everything. We immediately reported the insect issue at the front desk after check-in and were told the staff would clean the room. We went out and returned a few hours later to find nothing had been cleaned. We reported it again, and instead of properly cleaning, they simply sprayed something in the room, which did nothing to address the dead insects stuck to the walls. We had to repeatedly explain that the room needed thorough cleaning. Only after being firm did they finally clean it. The bathrooms were just as bad — completely covered in dirt, mold, and dust encrusted for years. Even wearing slippers, the floor felt disgusting to step on. This level of hygiene is unacceptable. In one of the rooms, after the so-called daily cleaning, we returned to find the bed sheets stained with black marks, as if they had been placed on the bed after touching something extremely dirty. Again, we took pictures of everything. We stayed only because the island was completely full and we had no other accommodation options. As if that wasn’t enough, there was a pipe issue that flooded the second floor, resulting in no water at all. We were told to “wait a few hours,” as if this was nothing. At check-out, we asked in advance if we could shower in the shared bathrooms before heading to the airport. They agreed, but then tried to charge us extra for a towel.

We were little late for the checkin (tho we asked for early checkin for which they denied) and this guy started cursing and pushing us (getting drunk doesn’t give you that privilege for sure) Overall experience could have been way better if this guy could have been little considerate.

Bed was very hard Due to the way the place is set up, it's also super loud in the evenings when they have live music or other stuff going on. The bar area is pretty much right next to the rooms with nothing to block the noise. I get that they're going for a social vibe and I've been staying at social and party hostels before, but this place just wasn't a great experience.

• Jj (10/5): Overall, my stay at Phu House Hostel was truly wonderful — warm hospitality, great atmosphere, perfect location, and exc - An amazing stay at Phu House Hostel! I had an excellent experience here — the staff at the bar, the management, and everyone on the team were absolutely amazing. Their service and hospitality made me feel truly welcome; it’s more than just a hostel, it feels like a community. The location is perfect, close to everything you need, and it’s great value for money. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Phu Quoc! It would be great to improve the Wi-Fi connection on all floors for a smoother experience. Also, apart from the great service at the bar, it might be nice to add a small food menu on the tables — just to let guests know that food is also available. Even with many restaurants nearby, having that one-stop option would make the stay even more convenient.

• Jeffrey (10/5): Pho Quoc’s Hidden Gem - The location, staff, and accommodations made for the perfect stay. They had lively bar downstairs, with a free beer special from 5-5:30 pm everyday. Moreover, the kitchen served up some pretty solid bar fare. Finally, the price was very reasonable. It was all fine.
• EVGENIIA (4/5): Грязно, шумно, неприятно. Не рекомендую - Плюс у этого отеля только один – месторасположение. Прямо напротив магазина Кинг-конг. Больше плюсов нет. Относительным плюсом можно считать интересный интерьер здания, кажется это действительно старинное здание с внутренним двориком Номер вонял. Затхлым бельем, канашкой, а потом еще за окном начали мусор жечь. Кондиционер еле работал, холодильник протекал. В общем жуть. Лифт есть, но не работал. Никому не рекомендую.

The atmosphere was vibrant and fun. The room had a very very strong smell of mould. We couldn't stay for the full amount of our stay sadly because of it.

• Yeftsimani (4/5): Hostel focusing on party but not on cleanliness and safety - The lady at the reception was extremely friendly and helpful. I had booked a private room and unfortunately my experience at this hostel was not really good. The rooms - especially the bathroom was not clean. On the toilet seat were hairs and stains and I needed to clean it first. But also the shower was old and full of mold . While taking a shower the whole bathroom was full of water as the drain was unfortunately totally blocked. The hostel has an elevator which I used. Unfortunately, I had the bad luck that the elevator was broken and I got stuck. It wouldn't have been so bad as there is usually an alarm button in the elevator, but this didn’t work either (there was no cell phone signal in the elevator either) so that I had to knock on the elevator door for 15 minutes and shout loudly for help until I was noticed. The staff told me that technicians had been there shortly before and had repaired the elevator but not the alarm button. So it was known that it didn't work. Pretty negligent as this alarm or emergency button is essential in an elevator . At least they were so sorry and the lady and some others were very nice to me when they rescued me from the elevator .

The rooms were very cold with the air-conditioning blasting all day and night - probably didn't need this, but couldn't adjust myself. But other than that, it was great!

Spoke fantastic English and provided a well priced scooter to get around the island. Icy cold AC in the rooms. Upstairs was a great communal area to meet cool people and have great chats. It’s a cool old Chinese style building. Really interesting people :) do yourself a favour and stay here Nothing :)
