- Lydia (7/5): Great location but the room needs some work - This property had a great bathroom and water pressure. It had a comfy bed and staff were helpful. The location is fantastic. Aircon worked very well. Unfortunately, there was mould growing all over the roof and it smelled musty. The room was also very dark. The rooms surround the common area so it can get very loud downstairs when you are sleeping.
- Moushmi (1/5): Worst stay evewr - We were contacted a day before our booking stating that the ac in this room was not working so they would move us to their sister property. Despite asking the team for exact room details, nothing was shared and this was important for us as we were travelling with a little child. We even requested for early check-in which wasn't offered either. When we reached the sister property, we were shocked by the room. It was very badly maintained, no tv (which was the main requirement for us to keep our child busy) and the bathroom was absolutely horrific. The AC didnt even work well and the mosquitoes were painful. We couldn't sleep a second, and if they had informed us about this room in advance we would have looked for an alternate stay but we couldn't find anything for a sunday after we checked into this room. This room might be okay for young friends and solo travellers but not for families!! Everything except location! The staff at the sister property was sweet though.

They made me feel really welcome and even gave some nice local tips about Galle Fort. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. I liked the mix of modern and colonial style — it gives a nice vibe. The location is just perfect, right inside the Fort, close to everything but still quiet at night. Definitely recommend this place!

- Pavel (2/5): Totally not worth it - The area is really nice, the coffe shop downstairs was very good, the food was tasty (but overpriced). We had similar cakes in 5* hotel in Colombo for much lower price. The room smelled weirdly (like old furniture and stuff). The AC was extremely loud. We had to turn it off to fall asleep, because it was really so loud, So we decided to turn the big fan on the ceiling on. That was loud too (but less than the AC) but even on the max speed, it didn't doo anything, so it was extremely hot inside. The bed was too small (we didn't expect it to be so small) and there was no shower gel available. Just a small soap (normally used to wash hands). I totally cannot recommend this. The night was really bad and we didn't sleep much.

Sure, room was clean and location great (but then again any place inside the fort is equally convenient) but the shower only had cold water, there were no windows (so room was dark) and the internet was so slow in the room it was completely unusable. For 150 USD per night I expect a bit more.
- Memphis (9/5): Superb - Lovely room with working AC. Great location in the centre of the Fort, and there was parking on the road outside for our tuktuk. Unfortunately wifi didn’t reach to our room.
- Anne-Sofie (4/5): Not more than 2 stars but fantastic staff - You should not expect more than a simple but clean small room. The toilet did not flush but that they fixed right away. There was wifi only in the lobby (that was shared with the bakery). I wonder about the history of the building because it should not have been made into a hotel. The rooms have no daylight but a very small window opens to the courtyard of the bakery. It was a big disappointment for the money spent but I want to compliment the staff for working hard to help customers that get upset when they see where they have to stay. The refrigerator made so loud noice that it was difficult to sleep.

- Laksanavadee (7/5): Good - The location is right in the Fort. There is no city view from the room as advertised. The only natural light is from the transom but it is covered with Roman shade. There was a leak in the bathroom. The AC was old and it died on us so we had to change the room. The light maintenance of the property could easily be done for example changing the light bulbs that do not work.

- Van (9/5): Had a wonderful time! - Small cosy room with a good vibe. Bed super comfortable, everything was clean and the people are so nice. Only thing that slightly bothered me was the sound of the AC. It's quite loud when you want to sleep. Apart from that, perfect!
- April (9/5): Lovely stay in Galle Fort - Really good location and helpful staff. Great cafe downstairs with nice staff. Good aircon and wifi, could pay by card. Clean bathroom, great hot shower, comfy bed. Would recommend! Lighting was a bit dim and the tv didn’t work.

- Rodney (7/5): Good - I stayed here 18 months ago on my last trip to Sri Lanka. The location in Galle Fort is perfect for the restaurants and for walking around the interesting narrow cobbled streets.. A lovely little boutique style hotel with a friendly manageress. Nothing for this price level.

The cafe in the front of the building has great coffee and lots of cakes. Small room, no natural light in it. They don't have any parking space, so our driver had to park somewhere else. No driver accomodation.

The bed was comfortable and room was nicely decorated. The air con was super noisy. These need replaced! And the shower floor is not sloped, so the water just sits there. They need to provide a squeegee for this. The rooms are above the cafe and someone was clattering cutlery at 6am very loudly. If these 3 things were corrected, it would be a perfect stay
- Vinko (9/5): Superb - This place is amazing, set in the middle of the Galle within meters of all the restaurants and stores. It's attached to the back of a coffee and cake shop. Breakfast was good even though it was a set menu, you can order from the cake shop at an additional charge if you want. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the rooms really comfy. Showers had hot water which is a bonus and water pressure was good. Nothing

- Tom (10/5): An excellent boutique hotel - a must stay. - I don’t think that we can emphasise enough what a great place this is to stay in Galle. Great staff, excellent food and well situated - all for a very reasonable price. Would stay again. Quite difficult to regulate the shower temperature.
- Kathryn (10/5): The perfect stay in so many ways! - My room at this beautifully renovated historic building was perfect - I loved the design, the comfy bed and beautiful crisp bed linen. The room was cool and quiet too. The location was perfect - right in the heart of everything. Conveniently there is a fabulous cafe downstairs serving tea, coffee and cakes. The Flapjack I can highly recommend! Check in was smooth, efficient, professional and friendly. The staff are incredibly lovely and went over and above me. I wished I could’ve stayed here longer.

- Anubha (4/5): It could have been better - There was a problem of power in our hotel. No power the whole night due to an outside issue not in the Hotel’s hands to solve. However, they did not have a working generator. So the hotel guests spent the whole night in the dark and a hot room! Very atmospheric, clean and comfortable bed. Small mercies they could pump the water into the bathrooms even with the power outage!

They messed up our order and it took a while to sort out the bill. We then had to pay the bill in two payments of which we were shortchanged because they didn't have the correct money. Finally we were charged a 10% dine in fee despite already staying that the hotel. - Layout of the room, single bed in the middle of the whole living space. - They didn't replace our toilet roll and bedding was not refreshed - Woken up at very early every morning due to loud noise, furniture moving and chairs scraping on the floor

- Debbie (8/5): Central stay in Gale fort. - 56 by Deco is extremely central witin the centre of the fort.Location Location location Bed comfortable. Good sized room. Air conditioning unit in the rom was extremely noisy and difficult to regulate which kept us awake.
- Sathyajith (9/5): Private and worth-the-cost! Loved it - Breakfast was simple yet filling. I loved it. I loved that they gave us the time to keep our bags safe while we roamed fort until it was time for check-in which they got us in a bit early as well. We would have preferred to have a kettle and some coffee inside the room for whenever. The hot and cold water kept changing continuously and did not stay stable in the room we were in. But these were simple inconveniences and they definitely are insignificant because the rest of the hotel was private, beautiful, accommodating and simply an elegant stay!

- Maria Nour (8/5): - Calm stay in unawatuna not in the popular street. The hotel is renovated, small boutique hotel, breakfast tasty we had avocado and poached eggs you can choose what you want. There's AC which is good in srilanka but unfortunately no fridge in the room

The gentleman who served us breakfast was always kind. The welcome drink and breakfast are excellent. For the price, this hotel is worth 1000%. - Lorraine (8/5): - This is a great little hotel right in the heart of Galle Fort, with wonderfully attentive staff, particularly the gentleman who done the breakfast, he was so lovely, thank you for chatting with us and a wonderful breakfast! The room we had was big with the bed being upstairs and had it not had a few issues I'd have rated it a 5, but we had a leak in the ceiling, too much furniture in the downstairs section, the shower ran between scalding and freezing no matter what you did and the water doesn't drain properly so it travels out towards the room, also our fridge did not work, however in the grand scheme of things this wasn't a huge problem. It's a lovely place to stay, rooms have aircon (most likely to be the cause of the leak), fridges, they are good sized and the bed (double) was comfortable, all in all we had a lovely stay here! Also, there is no lift and many stairs up to the first floor where the rooms are, also some rooms have stairs in them, not ideal for anyone with mobility issues.
- Oliver (8/5): - The location is amazing, right in the middle of Galle Fort which is ideal - quiet too for a central place. Staff really friendly and always greeted with a smile. Our room was ok - comfy bed, however there were a few things to note; no kettle/water/teas & coffees etc., the room had a musty/stagnant smell, and quite dark & dingy. It did the job for a couple of nights, but wouldn’t want to be in there much longer. There were also mental bars on the windows rather than glass, felt a little odd!
- Michał (9/5): Superb - Very nice hotel in the center of Galle tourist zone. The hotel itself looks great, the staff is helpful and breakfasts very tasty. Our room had no 'normal' windows, only one small above the door. It gave only a little light, but at the same time it let in noise from inner patio, which was a bit annoying, especially in the morning.
