- julie (10/5): - Super accueil !
Rien

- Jean-Michel (5/5): - Chambre grande, grand lit, eau chaude.

- Helen (9/5): Ngan nga in Bac Ha - Thank you Mr Dong for a very enjoyable stay. Excellent position for market. Very helpful staff, food was very good and M Dong organised a fantastic tour around the villages through a local tour guide ( thao thi tau a local teacher speaking excellent English and with excellent knowledge of the area). Mr Dong provided very good local information and ideas of things to do. Good sized room and nice and light on fourth floor and would definitely stay again. Nothing to dislike. The Room had no frills but everything we needed was there, it was clean and it all worked properly.

- Ognjen (7/5): Simple clean and convenient, avoid services by girl guide named Thao - Very convenient in centre for sunday market, simple functional rooms. Difficult organisation of transport to get there, limited info provided on buses by manager. Tip for Bac Ha: do NOT use services of guide named Thao, very unprofessional, she made our stay very unpleasant. This was not provided by hotel and is not hotels fault, but hotel in general does collaborate with her.
- Judy (10/5): Exceptional for many reasons - We loved our stay at Nan Nga I can't rate Mr Dong and his staff highly enough Mr Dong went out of his way to make our trip exceptional, from contacting directly before our arrival to organising transport and hiking. The restaurant also serves the best food - we ate here for every meal. The very best host you could ask for at a hotel. Thank you Mr Dong and Mr Hung and the rest of the staff for giving us such a memorable experience 🥰
- Haviv (6/5): Pleasant - The location was excellent - right on the market!
The hotel manager, Mr. Dong, was professional, reliable and kindly and efficiently assisted us with transportation to Sapa The room was very small and cramped and we could barely move.
Access was on a high floor with no elevator
- Biau (9/5): Superb -
- Giorgia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eugen (8/5): Very nice staff and good value for money - Very nice staff and owner, they cared a lot and were helpful with organizing bus tranafer to Hanoi, also we rented a motorbike from them. The possibility to eat in the hotel restaurant was very comfortable. Bathroom not that modern and small, but ok for the price.
- Renata (9/5): Good hotel and restaurant it in the city Center - Hotel in the Center of Bac Ha, good restaurant at the ground floor, staff speaks English, free bottles of water in the rooms.
Good Wi-Fi and hot water for shower.
Eggs or pancake for breakfast. No lift to the different floors but staff very helpful with luggage
- Linda (10/5): We had a nice stay :) - Service was great. For helping with the luggage. They were good to help for informations and reservation for the sleeping bus :)
We will be back -
- Nicola (10/5): Value for money, located 2 mins from the market and local bus stop. - Location to the Sunday market, drop off from the bus, onsite restaurant Nil concerns
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michal (10/5): Highly recommended - Beautiful rooms with a balcony, comfortable bed, good location near Sunday market, good AC, good wifi, friendly and helpful staff. Very clean hotel. Motorbike rent. The finest example of Vietnamese hospitality. Very good value for money.
- Emma (4/5): Enormously disappointing. - Good location. Helpful staff - up to a point… Our stay was pleasant but as we were waiting for the bus, that the guesthouse had helpfully booked for us, we heard a creature yelping nearby and investigated. There was an 8-9 week old puppy cable-tied into a small plastic food crate - pictures attached - next to the doorstep of the guesthouse. The owner of the guesthouse had allowed some friends of his who had bought the puppy in the market to leave it there ‘whilst they went to get their car’. The puppy’s new owners reappeared, with their car, and then prepared to leave again, without the puppy. When we asked why they weren’t taking it with them and what would happen to it they informed us that they would be back the following day as they were going to visit friends overnight. Apparently the owner of the hotel, who they informed us had ‘experience in these things’, had told them the puppy would be fine for a day without food as it was young, all it would need was water (which it had no access to). They left.
We then asked the owner of the guesthouse what would happen to the puppy and again he told us that the owners of the puppy would come back later. We told him that we had spoken to the puppy’s owners and that they were not coming back until the following day and that the puppy needed water and food. He said, repeatedly “Is not my problem, is owner’s problem” (sic). We strongly suggested that it was his problem as it was on his premises, with his agreement. At this point our bus had arrived and he told us “Is not my problem, my only problem is the bus has arrived and you are not on it.” At which point we were both manhandled and jostled fairly roughly on to the bus.
We have no idea if this dog was intended as a pet or for the table. We understand that the Vietnamese may hold different views towards animal husbandry than we do but whatever its final end it deserves to be humanely treated during its lifetime.
Following this incident we cannot recommend this establishment.
- Anna (9/5): Superb - Comfy bed and pillows
Staff were very helpful
Food was excellent
The local guide Pằng was amazing, trekking through villages and rice paddies
- Carolina (3/5): Poor. Bad stay with unpleasant manager - The hotel location was good and the manager provided us with sufficient instructions to arrive/leave by public transport in an easy manner We were generally disappointed by the experience in Bac Ha but particularly by the hotel and the attitude of the manager. While it was well located (close to the main city square), the facilities, comfort and cleanliness were all poor. The rooms were kitschy decorated with old-fashioned furniture and some old appliances that gave the room a sense of abandonment. The bathroom was uncomfortable and not well cleaned. The manager (Mr. Dong) was unpleasant. He was insistent to sell tours/activities at a much more expensive price than offered elsewhere, (e.g. he offered a half day tour for USD 100 with not even an indication or picture of the plan offered). If you don't want to buy additional activities. the manager has not time and no patience to provide directions or other information. We did not try the restaurant other than a coffee, which was not good. The whole experience was so disappointing that we left after the first night even if we had booked and paid for 3 nights. The manager made no apology or offer.
- Alicia (10/5): One of the best place I stayed so far in Vietnam. - The room was very beautiful and clean, and had a nice view. The staff was very helpful.
- Amelie (9/5): Superb - Nice Hotel, The top floors have beautiful mountain view.
- Shin (6/5): OK - Location very good. Staff is supportive. My room was 5th floor and there was no elevator.
- Laurence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (8/5): Central location - The manger was very helpful organising a bus back to Hanoi. Very central to everything especially the markets. Our rooms window was attached to the side restaurant, it was only noisy at meal times.
- Jeremy (8/5): Very good - The managers spoke great English and helped us a lot prior to getting there and coordinated a ride for us when we got off the bus at 5am. Very helpful and they also made great food at their restaurant NA
- Catherine (8/5): Great location, excellent value (apart from the one day car tour) - Great location, right in the heart of Bac Ha. We had a room overlooking the street, it was not too noisy, even at the weekend. Excellent value. Such a great area to stay for four days. The tour with a driver and guide that was arranged by the hotel for $145 was not good value.
We had asked in advance to include two walks for 30-60 mins each, as we did not want to spend all day just in the car. The guide did not seem to be very aware of this when we asked about it. We did just one walk for 30 mins, but after 15 mins the guide could not find the way out of the little rice fields, and we had to keep trying different ways to get back to the car! Shame not to have the expected walks.
Lunch was very poor and our worst meal in Vietnam - a picnic on the roadside looking towards wonderful views however the food was mostly processed, wrapped in plastic and not fresh (apart from rice and oranges). It would have been so much nicer to go to a little place, however small, and have a freshly cooked meal.
We started the tour by going to the Bac Ha buffalo market, but discovered in fact it was the day before and there were just a few leftover animals but no people! Maybe they did not know that the market has changed day.
However, other parts of the tour were completely brilliant - like the wedding we came across in the one village we walked around.
Also, at one point there was a pile of earth in the road and it was impassable by car. With the guide, we strolled around the little village while the driver went to find a way out. We had tea in a house on stilts and met some local people, also walking up a hill with tea plants and had a great view.
So although it was frustrating not to be able to walk much, the wedding and meeting the village people were highlights of our trip.
The guide was friendly even if inexperienced. She was filming the view from the car on her phone quite a lot as we drove along so maybe she was quite new to doing this tour.
The driver was excellent and drove very carefully, and we felt completely safe.
- Ely (9/5): Superb - Dong was an invaluable resource during our stay. He advised on every activity and travel arrangement. He was amazing. The shower did not work well.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - Food was good. We were allowed to checkout at 19.00 at no charge. Very helpful
- Nir (9/5): Superb - Very central location.
The manager Mr. Dong was very helpful and kind.
Good food. Good value.
- Bishop (9/5): Superb - Great location close to Sunday market. Food in the resturant was excellent. Staff were lovely. Our room had a patio with a beautiful view.
If you're going for the Sunday Bac Ha market- which is fantastic- the town is quite festive Saturday night but quitened down early. The water buffalo market is now Saturday not Sunday with the rest of the market.
- Jennifer (8/5): Great hotel, trekking is a must! - The owner organized an amazing off the beaten path trekking+ non touristic market visit including an overnight of you want. We saw no other tourists and the landscape was as spectacular as sapa.
Hotel itself is good, basic good amenities.
Owner even let us use a shower after the trekking the next day even though we didnt have a booking that day.
Highly recommend!! Nothing
- Tomek997 (8/5): Good option to stay if you want to visit the Sunday market before all the tourist buses arrive - Decent and clean hotel right in the centre, just a few steps from the market. Note that there is no lift and the rooms are even on 6-7 floor – staff is helpful and will bring your luggage upstairs. Most staff speak little English but an English speaking person comes within a minute. Mr Dong is very helpful and can arrange all transports or activities (private car, motorbike taxi, motorbike rental, a map & advice on hikes, bus tickets, etc.) We took a private car transfer to visit the Can Cau Saturday market (which we liked slightly better than the one in Bac Ha). We were offered a later checkout so we could spend more time in the town before boarding our bus to Lao Cai. The food in the hotel restaurant is so so (but you always get free fresh fruit for dessert as a bonus).
- Phia (4/5): Disappointing -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, friendly helpful staff... value for money, definitely stay here again. Shower pressure a little low, no big deal though
- Kumiko (7/5): Very good value for money. We had all our meals at the hotel over 3 days. They were very good - We arrived from Hanoi very early in the morning, but the hotel let us have a room so we could rest.
Shower is good. Hot water is good. The drainage was slow.
Mr Dong is very knowledgeable he told all sorts of things we could do around Bac Ha and we did.
We had a very comfortable stay.
Very convenient location for the Sunday Market. Perhaps shower drainage could get cleaned
- Van (9/5): Superb - Surprisingly nice stay. See previous comment I made. Quite steep stairs. They help with bringing up and down the luggage. But if you have trouble with stairs, it might be better to request a room at the lowest level.
- Van (9/5): Superb - I was not expecting much, but we had a surprisingly nice stay at Ngan Nga Bac Ha Hotel.
It was very close to the market and 15 minutes walk to the castle.
The rooms were nice and clean with hot showers.
The food was good and we ate there all our meals.
The owner has a brusque way of speaking but is friendly, speaks English and is very helpful with a map of Bac Ha, ideas of visits and walks. My dad was sick on our arrival and they helped with providing free ginger teas or bananas for him to eat at least something.
- Kongjie (9/5): Superb -
- Stanislav (10/5): Exceptional - Rent a motorbike, booking a bus tickets, good lokation, all in one place, very kind owner fulfill all our expectations. Thanks!
- Yuko (10/5): Good hotel - I was impressed when I saw the cleaning process. It was not a luxurious hotel, but it was a comfortable hotel.
- Acartimilc (10/5): Exceptional - Great location (room on the main street but not much noise, markets 2-5min walk). Mr. Dong was very helpful. Very good advice and tips on what to do in the area as well options on bus/train to next destination. Everyone else was very friendly. The food was so good that we ate there almost every occasion.ad we could keep the room a few hours before the bus. As awareness, there is no fridge in the room although we got water. Also no elevator (in case needed)
- Raymond (8/5): Helpful staff, good location, comfy beds. - Staff were very helpful, great location Nothing
- Christophe (10/5): Bac Ha head quarter ! - M Dong know everything about the region. Hé can organise your local visit as your transport to an other place in Vietnam.
The food is also Perfect.
Nice place to visit.
- Tatyana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kilie (8/5): Nice location, comfortable hotel. - Good air-conditioning, nice view from balcony. Bed was comfortable. The hotel has no lift so if you have a problem with stairs maybe ask for a lower floor. Needs some maintenance, shower drain took a long time to empty and fan in bathroom didn't work.
- Christine (8/5): Very good - Good in-town location as a convenient place to stay for visiting markets and watching the busy and interesting street activity. Food not great but very few options in town. Staff is helpful when not busy with tour groups. The place was packed with small tour groups when we were there.
- Augustin (7/5): Good stay in Bac Ha for visiting the market - The location, the restaurant. The duvet provided was a bit stained.
- Bryce (9/5): Superb - Owner spoke good English and found me a good mechanic to fix my motorbike.
- Roderick (8/5): Very good -
- Low (7/5): The Services Are All In One - The location is very good, 5 minutes to night market/sunday market. The hotel has the services all in one including restaurant, transport (rent car, bus, motorbike etc).
The manager Dong is very helpful, he helped us to get a cabin bus back to Hanoi, but needed to get up bus from Lao Cai. He arranged a driver brought us from Bac Ha to Lao Cai.
He gave us a map and showed the location of Hmong villages. We rent motorbikes from Dong and explored the stunning places by motorbike.
The food were delicious, convenient for 3 meals as not many choices in the small town. The hotel has no lift. Our room was at 5th floor, we needed to get up and down to train the leg muscles. Thanks for the young staffs to help us carrying our luggages
- Nim (5/5): Passable - It is a basic hotel located right in front of the entrance to the Sunday market so you can expect the noise level. We just stayed one night to visit the market. Front staff was friendly.
- Cassandra (10/5): Awesome stay in the center of the town - Everything was superb at this property. The owner kept contact with us since the moment I made the booking and arranged our transportation from Sapa to Bac Ha and onward from Bac Ha to Hanoi. The had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both were great.
- Erik (9/5): Superb - The friendly staff en the nice and clean room. only in some of the electric sockets i could plug my adapters in. strange
- Richard (7/5): Beautiful walks around the town, but arrangements for them seem over-priced. - knowledgeable owner who was happy to organise any request. The owner has a near monopoly on arrangements for foreigners and prices them accordingly.
- Christian (8/5): Very good - Mr Dong welcome and support Weather....
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - the kindness of the staff
- Alan (8/5): Good value but ........! - Owner was helpful but a busy man.
Location is good.
Resturant was ok.
Good value for money.
We did the Coc Ly market and river cruise organised by the hotel and that was good .... albeit the driver tried to rush us at the market. Power plug points were hard to use .... odd comment but in both rooms getting the plug in the socket was a challenge.
Aircon sort of worked but not great in doing much other than blowing!
Staff attention in the resturant was a bit hot and cold depending on occupancy..... less guests no staff!
Oh and there are no kettles in the room despite it saying there are ...... good luck getting a hot coffee!
