Guest Reviews
- Pat (4/5): - It was halfway clean. The last night there it cooled off so we were able to sleep UNTIL 3am when the smoke detector battery started beeping. The first two nights were miserable to sleep. Living room and kitchen were halfway cool but the thing they called an air conditioner was worthless in the bedroom. Couldn’t open windows because of all the partying and the big spotlight that was kept on all night. We had two portable fans only one worked. Won’t be returning to this property EVER.
- Thrace (10/5): - Updated and very nice As described
- Stacey (4/5): - The unit was in need of some repairs in the bathroom as well as the bathroom was not cleaned properly. There was hair from past guest on the floor, wall and on the back of the bathroom door. There was a long hair on one pillow (which are way past due to be trashed and replaced) and the carpet was dirty and didn’t appear to have been vacuumed. The location of the unit was great! The deck would have been a nice addition but had snow and ice piled so high it was unusable. This unit could be a wonderful place with a little love.
Thank you
- Catherine (10/5): - Perfect for a fall getaway. The unit overlooks the mountains out the back with unobstructed views of fall volors, sunset and sunrise. Well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. Snoeshoe Resort is basically closed during the fall so be sure to plan to take your own food to prepare and beverages which we did. Cass Scenic Railway is 6 miles away a must do for train lovers.
- Chris (10/5): - Great stay
- Adam (10/5): - Sweet bike storage
- Jo Ann (10/5): Mountain life - Front desk was helpful
My room was impressive. It looked out across the mountains, beautiful view.
Room was clean had everything we needed.
My grandson wanted it for his own room.
Decor was just the right thing for the location. We booked in the off season, we were going nearby, so it worked great. I would recommend this place.
- Geneva (8/5): - Mountain Lodge was a great place to stay on Snowshoe Mountain. Secure parking, easy check in, right next to the village.. Especially on a big event, the village stays noisy into the night. Mountain lodge was right next to the village and Lift, and you didnt get all of the village noise. There were no bells or whistles to the property itself. There is an arcade in the building, and a nice lobby area, but no other amenities, you are next to the Village Pool, if you have passes.
- SHARYN (8/5): - Everything was good except the light/fan in the bedroom couldn't be adjusted because it was remote only and the remote wasn't working
- Kendra (6/5): - Location and view were great. Unit not clean, missing flat sheet on bed with dirty blankets, towel bar was previously ripped out of wall and not fixed or replaced in bathroom. Broken bathroom tiles that move under your feet. No dresser or closet in King bedroom. Unit needs maintenance.
- Julie (8/5): Birthday Skiing weekend - The location of this is awesome, close to slopes and village. The unit itself was good, the place itself is dated a bit. I would stay here again!
- Malinda (10/5): Loved it! - Awesome stay, clean and love how it was decorated!!! Definitely recommend
- mahri (8/5): - We had a very nice stay. The condo had a wonderful view in the family room and back bedroom and we had what we needed. The master bedroom window looked out into the indoor hallway of the building and it could be a little noisy when people walked and talked in the hallway but overall was not an issue. Thank you for a lovely mini vacation :)
- Jason (10/5): - Very convenient. Nice room. Will stay here again.
- Alan (10/5): - Views and cleanliness
- Ronnie (8/5): ski trip - Nice well decorated and functional room.
Needs the noisily refrigerator replaced.
- Jeremy (10/5): Cozy clean condo - Clean and cozy space with an amazing view. Would definitely recommend. Right on the slopes
- Beth (10/5): - The room was fine but could use another vacuuming. There was food on the carpet all around the couch area. Otherwise we had a good stay. Hallway was real noisey but thats all.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bait and Switch Scam - Mountain Top Condos is a Bait and Switch Scam and I did not stay there, I would suggest that Hotels.com remove them from your Website.
- Rebecca (4/5): Miserable Stay - The condo was small with a bedroom down a hallway. It was stifling hot when we got there. There was only a portable air conditioner in the main room so the bedroom stayed miserably hot. The pull out couch bed was a joke! A pancake mattress full of lumps that didn’t even have linens on it. Two sheets were left next to the couch - no pillows or blanket. I will NEVER stay there again.
- Dominique (10/5): - Nice condo overall. Great service from lobby at check in and check out. Only problem was quality of mattress .
Everything else was perfect
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This location is great for skiing at Snowshoe. The rest is not that great, with furniture in disrepair and minimum amenity.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Review - Property was old and dated. Supposed to be queen sized bed but we got only a double bed. Very uncomfortable. Bedroom was uncomfortably hot. No air conditioning. Wasn't told restaurants were not open.
- Kenneth (8/5): I would stay there again - The condo itself was clean everything functioned and was overall nice. The interior of the overall building was shabby and I felt like I was in some sort of prison. They are doing construction on the building which will probably fix a lot of the interior issues in the future. Overall I would recommend staying there especially for the price
- Edward (8/5): Great for intended use has ski lodge. - The unit we were in needed to be updated. Would be comfortable for sking weather. But for summer use, too hot in the bedroom. Small portable a/c unit did great for living room & kitchen.
- MM (6/5): - It took us 40 minutes bouncing back and forth to check in and to find the right property entrance. Kids at several properties totally unprepared.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome location next to The Village .
Rustic lodging. Wonderful stay
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The place is dated and small. They tried to pretty it up a little bit, but the whole building is old and...it really depends on what you're looking for. This place is cheap, but the prices were good, so if you consider that, then it's reasonable.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The unit is incredibly outdated and the beds were very uncomfortable. Location is fantastic and the staff was very nice. This unit needs an upgrade in the biggest way.
- Jill (6/5): Great location, updates needed - Room was located above arcade which made noise throughout the night. Hallway light shone through closed blinds making it difficult to sleep as well. No cross ventilation without propping hall door open, uncomfortably warm and stuffy throughout stay. Felt like we were in a '70's time capsule.
- Doug (8/5): Mountaintop retreat for two - Beautiful views in common areas
The Snowshoe Village was right outside our door! Good food & shopping~ even a Starbucks all within walking distance!
Fun family time for any age!
It was a birthday / anniversary event & we both found it memorable!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I went in the summer time for the 4848 festival, which is a music festival. This property was right next to the lift that took you to the lake. There were tons of fun things by the lake!! At the top of the mountain, you are also conveniently located super close to the village. The village had so many fun things. We spent very little time in our room because there was so much to do outside!
I did love the room too. Just enough room and very clean! Felt safe and comfortable here with my two young children. Our unit had AC, which was a plus. The bathroom was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. I WILL be staying here again.
- Tracie (10/5): - Perfect location exclamation we had a great day and everything was within walking distance. Definitely be staying there again next year!
- JoelTyner (6/5): - Pretty spartan, but about what I expected for the price. Not a major problem because we just needed a place to sleep.
HVAC was completely non-functional (or indecipherable for a college graduate). Lamp was broken and bulbs were out.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful views no lines for skiing great restaurants, great for kids, lots of things to do and lots of different places to stay, would recommend and would return!
- Brian (6/5): - Poor communication with the owners. Will not be back.
- Brenda (10/5): - The spot was right in the middle of everything,
- Christopher (8/5): Mountain trip - Overall great stay being right in the mountain a few things to consider. Pack food/drinks well before getting there as your option will only be eating out. Also if your cell service provider is Verizon then you will not have service other then WiFi in the room. Hope this helps
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is located at the far end of the lodge so it was particularly quiet and had a nice view of the forests
- Lin (6/5): - you can see deer just outside the window. If you want coffee in the morning bring it with you! Get shampoo from the front desk it is not in the room.

- Tim (8/5): - Room was clean,, maids did a good job, but everything seemed old and weak, like the floors squeaking, cupboard doors falling off, etc. I'm a 300 lb man and there wasn't enough room to use the toilet, it was mere inches from the sink on one side and bathtub on the other!
- Steven (8/5): - Beautiful location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Access to the room was very close to building exit which made it very easy to carry in belongings. The view from the unit was beautiful. The unit was very well maintained and well stocked with kitchen dishes, cookware and utensils. The only thing missing that would have been useful was a paring knife.
We loved the 2 bedroom/2 bathrooms. However, air conditioner available only in one bedroom made it rather warm in other rooms of the unit. This is only a problem if staying there in the heat of summer.
Although we only had a 2 night stay, the unit was very cozy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Enjoyable - Nice Family Place To Go, Enjoyed All There Was To Do, Also Went Golfing At The raven Nice Clean Hard Course, Good Place's To Eat At, Had Good Service Every Where We Went, Also When To Cass Railroad Only 10 Miles Away... Also An Awesome Place, Had A Good Supper At The Restaurant There
- Christopher (8/5): Beautiful Area and Facility. Bring Food! - We were attending a photo group function at nearby Cass Scenic Railroad in late May of 2018. Obviously, this is part of a large ski complex on Snowshoe Mountain. The main drawback is that there is NOTHING in the vicinity of the resort. This includes gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants. At the resort, only 1 restaurant was open for lunch and dinner. Food and service at the Fire Fox were both excellent. In Cass, there are 2 restaurants and a small grocery which all appear to be closed on Monday! This is 6 miles away on a very twisty mountain road. To get gas, you have to drive another 10 miles. Also, cell phone service is non existent due to the nearby Green Bank radio telescope, but the resort gives you free long distance calls. We did not have any wi-fi problems, but it may be different during ski season. All of the rooms have a kitchen with stove, micro, refrigerator, utensils, etc. You should bring provisions to make breakfast and lunch.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Weekend Getaway - This was our second time staying at the Mountain Lodge this season (our first time visiting snowshoe!) You can't beat the location of the Mountain Lodge, and the price is pretty reasonable. The building is certainly outdated, but we were here for the fresh snow, so we didn't mind. The only complaint we have is that the wi-fi was shotty and, when it worked, really really slow. This proved less-than-ideal when we were snuggled up in the evenings hoping to watch Netflix. An upgrade in the TV department would've been nice, but all-in-all we had a great time!
- amy (8/5): Very Clean, Newly Appointed with awesome WiFi! - We visit Snowshoe frequently, usually 1-2 times annually for skiing, for the last six or seven years. This is the first time we rented a condo here via Hotels.com, and the first time in the Mountain Lodge. We usually book at Silver Creek for the night skiing, and Rimfire or Seneca when we want to be in the Village. Firstly, like Silver Creek, the Mountain Lodge is a very dated building with older ski-boot worn carpet typical of ski resorts. However, unlike some of the other condos we have rented, this condo was obviously recently renovated, with new appliances and carpet. The furnishings were comfortable. The most important thing to me is cleanliness, and this place was SPOTLESS! The unit was relatively quiet, and the view out the windows was great (see pic). The only downside to Mountain Lodge (not specific to this unit) is the older windows, and when the wind came out of the North, the chilly air leaked in around the window facing the resort. However, with the three zone baseboard heating and ample blankets provided, we stayed warm and cozy. The owners provided every appliance needed, and included spices and K-cups for guest use, which is really nice. One word of warning, is to read carefully the "free-cancellation" policy. I made our reservations on the 19th of March for a trip on the 22nd. The policy which stated "free cancellation until the 20th," was for a cancel date of the month prior! This was a last-minute trip, and we had a great time. Will stay here again!
- Sandra (10/5): - Wish we could have stayed longer. WV has the best deal to stay on the slopes in the whole country. We discovered Split Rock pools and had a much better time than expected.
- John (8/5): Worth your visit - A bit dated and worn, any deficiencies were more than made up by the location, beauty and nearby activities.
- Richard (10/5): 30 miles to a loaf of bread! - Should warn that Snowshoe is a Ghosttown pre snow. Take EVERYTHING you need! Other than that- it was perfect!
