- Neil (8/5): Comfortable, cosy. - The little house was warm and the setting beautiful. It would be useful to have a microwave in the little house rather than just in reception.

- Whitni WW (10/5): Cozy night in the forest - This was such a great stay! We had the 風 cabin and, while it was a bit of a walk from the parking lot, it was very enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed the bug warning posted in the bathroom. A large bottle of water was provided in the fridge, the tatami made the room smell great, and the futon was so cozy. Having the large windows in the cabin brought a lot of good lighting and made it feel even cozier. The provided luggage carts helped a bunch in navigating stuff over the narrow, patchwork pathway. It would help to pack on the lighter side so you have less to cart back and forth. When we were returning from a grocery run around sunset, a couple of foxes crossed our path! Shirogane Blue Pond is a short 15-20 minute drive so you can totally beat the crowds in the morning, too. Just remember to stock up on food supplies before you get here! There aren't any deal breakers but if/when we stay here again, I'll try to remember these things: I don't think there are any streetlights on the main road and the entrance/driveway is easy to miss and very gravelly. Also, bring your reading glasses when you go to check in and check out-- the screen's text is kinda small!

- Yuko (7/5): A great choice for anyone who wants to enjoy peaceful, authentic Biei! - The owner-chef and his wife (?) were kind and courteous, which made me feel very warm and welcome. You’ll see a sign at the entrance of the path coming up from the street. There’s no arrow on the sign, so you might feel a bit unsure, but just go up the narrow unpaved road and you’ll find a large parking area, so don’t worry!
- Younglan (9/5): Superb - Cozy and lovely. Quite far
- Desleigh (8/5): Beautiful location, spacious cabin, very comfortable. - We loved the location out near forest areas. The cabin was very spacious. There was no dining table which made it a little uncomfortable to eat meals.
- Nuria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wanyu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tanja (7/5): Nice quiet location, overall was okay - Nice quiet location. Close to many attractions. We made a booking mistake and booked for one instead of two people. The staff told us it’s not a problem and there is another futon in the house. However the staff was not able to give us bedsheets to cover the futon since she could not leave to get us sheets because she was the only staff. Charging full price and not giving us bedsheets for the first night is not really appropriate in my personal opinion.
- Hideki (9/5): Superb -
- Sandra (8/5): Peaceful, beautiful nature, affordable - Secluded out in nature, but still close to Biei and other towns! Tatami beds on the “floor” can be pretty rough, if you are not adjusted to those kinds of beds.
- Wilson (8/5): Outdoor nature accoms suitable for younger folks - Clean cosy room. Hard to access, entrance was a one-way gravel road. Had to push a trolley cart to transport luggage from carpark area to the houses. Lots of insects outside.
- Siu (8/5): cute wooden house with tatami - cute wooden house with tatami
quite close to city and sightseeing farms if you drive cannot drive our car inside to load and unload luggages
it was raining bad when we left so we got sweaty and wet from carrying the luggages
- Joe (8/5): Nice quiet location, but a little expensive for the stay. - As the pictures show, there are multiple cabins scattered around the property. Our cabin was one of the last ones on the property. It was clean and comfortable. There are multiple types of cabins listed and it was difficult to understand what I was reserving when I did. For example, pictures of the booking shows an outdoor bath and others show a mini kitchen. Neither were available to us, which wasn't a big deal, but slightly disappointing in the end.
- Wk (5/5): Passable -
- Jurvis (8/5): Very good -
- Ting (8/5): Very good - Environment atmosphere
Bath tub
Warm staff
Restaurant
Nice bad Room number is insignificant to find.
No hanger hook in bathroom
Bad powe plug location
- Nadia (10/5): I really love the atmosphere and the room. Will definitely recommend. - I really like the outside bath and the size of the room. I was worried because in the photos it doesn’t look spacious but once I got there is was really big. The room exceed my expectations and if I am ever in the area I’ll like to rebook. The instructions to heat up the water tub was kinda hard to understand. So one the second day I didn’t use the tub.
- Nisha (9/5): Superb -
- Lip (7/5): Good -
- Wb (5/5): It was definitely funny but not a too lovely experience to stay there. - This time I guess I had by mistake reserved a small house which was really too small for a family with 4 adults. The upper floor and the toilet were just too crowded for all of to sleep on the floor. My sons decided to bring all the beddings downstairs.
In summer, the path from the front desk to the houses is too rocky. Better anti-insect methods
Surfacing of the path from the front desk to the houses
- Kumiko (6/5): Pleasant -
- Claudia (9/5): Superb - Lovely and spacious place. We had a lovely stay. Loved the outside bath too. I think the rental of cutlery, pots and pans should be included in the price.
- Sanghun (8/5): Very good - Cozy room and perfect place for kid due to a lot of snow. The room type is different between booking.com and hotel.
Depend on room type, there is no outdoor bath.
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Lee (2/5): Didn't enjoy, not value for money, essentially a budget hotel at full-facility price tag. - We were given a tiny cottage with no amenity, even though the photo and description stated it came with a semi-open hot bath. No hot bath to enjoy in winter, a total disappointment.
One small bathroom/toilet, no kitchen. Can't image a cottage without cooking facility and space for preparing meal.
The cottage is a distance from carpark, and we, aging people, had to use manual wagon to pull our bulky and luggage, up the slop.
No place to eat takeaway food in the premises except our tiny cottage.
- Sanghun (9/5): Superb - We really enjoy environment of mountain. Enjoyed to take a walk near by house with snow, my kids espcially loved it. Name of room type is different from booking.com and hotel. It was written "Villa" and "Standard Villa" in the booking.com. However Villa is same as preminum villa in the hotel.
- Kornchanok (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hong (1/5): Disappointed - Bigger than normal hotels because it’s a villa, the tatami beds were comfy. We booked the biggest villa at the property with a kitchen just so we could enjoy cooking, but turned out the kitchen was just for you to boil water with a small kettle, not an electric kettle. There’s NO kitchenware, bowls, plates or utensils for you to cook or eat, but there’s a stove. I asked the staff if we could borrow some kitchenware to cook but she said no. So if you want to cook in the villa, you have to bring your own stuff, but who would bring it when they are travelling? Plus, the bathroom sink was next to the kitchen sink, so you have to brush your teeth in the kitchen.
We love Japanese style shower but this villa provided a western style shower with a shower head only, and the shower was dirty and moldy. We wanted to have a private hot spring with a view so we chose this villa. However the hot spring was dirty and there’s some big yellow disgusting stuff next to it, so we did not use it.
The wifi connection was so bad and there’s no TV.
We arrived at night so it was already dark outside. There’s no light at the front door and the backyard, so it was really hard to open the door with the key and enjoy the backyard. There’s no curtain in the living room, only the bedroom upstairs had it. Also, we had to drag our luggages all the way from our car because cars were not allowed to go up to the villas, even though there were lots of space in front of the check in building. Carts were provided for you to drag your luggages, but the staff did not mention it until we asked. Besides, the road going up to the villa was covered in deep snow and no one bothered to shovel, it was very dangerous.
Check in process was quick, she gave you the key and you were on your own, we did not feel welcomed at all. If you did not bring food, there’s some overpriced cookies at the front desk you could buy.
- Chee (7/5): Nice villa at the middle of nature. - The flexibility of the staff. We arrived later than 9pm. Staffs already left. Before they left, they informed me that they would left the door unlocked with key inside of the room. There were mosses in the Goemon baths of both villas. The water heater was noisy and the fumes from the gas heater wasn't pleasant.
- Yuridia (10/5): Exceptional - We loved this place it was a lifesaver! I had initially booked for just 2 nights and was staying in the city of Sapporo near Ondori park before then, it was a nightmare, from our hotel to finding parking alone terrible experience. My husband and I had to leave immediately and we called Auberge Ninguruforet to see if we could extend our stay and it was the best decision, we loved how accommodating they were to take us in at such short notice. We were so happy, our first night here was a complete transformation of our moods, after having endured such stress. The location of the property, it is truly the most beautiful town in Japan! The cabin so cute and cozy! It was just so perfect!! We got to relax and unwind enjoying the view and did some sightseeing at our leisure which was all so conveniently nearby. We had dinner and breakfast on our lastnight and it was simply delicious and so beautifully prepared. Words can’t begin to describe how truly happy we were with our stay here!

- Sabrina (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful wooden cabins tucked away in the forest.
If you’re looking for a place to stay that is near the Blue Pond/Shirahige Falls/Tokachidake, I recommend staying here. It’s very peaceful and is hidden from the main road, though you may need a car to access it. The cabins are lovely and very private. They have windows overlooking the trees, where you can watch birds in the early morning.
The owners are very welcoming, and provided complimentary tea and biscuits in the cabin. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for hosting us! N/A
- Jr-hau (9/5): A great place for a family to stay! - Beautiful garden, neat and clean room Terrible wifi signal strength
- Ethel (8/5): Very good -
- Trishna (7/5): Good -
(10/5): Exceptional - An peaceful and isolated place to clam yourself. Wi-Fi doesn’t work well but it is also a plus if you want to focus on your stay.
- Kwok (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kenneth (8/5): Very good - The staff was there to assist even though we arrived late for check-in, and after the reception was closed.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - would be better if they can serve the hot breakfast instead of packing a box for take away.
- SEOG YONG (2/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean actually. A special experience living in a hut like inside a forest. But really have many small insects. No air-conditioner and I dare not to open the window is a problem for me coz the ventilation is not good. The staff is very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very cozy hotel in the forest which provides us different experience. The area is beautiful and nearby the blue pond. Dinner was delicious
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Siu Ying (10/5):
- Lynn (8/5): Interesting wilderness experience - This place is quite remote but we were relieved that google map managed to lead us there without much trouble. WiFi is slow and unstable inside the property. Staff was helpful and breakfast was delightful. Only drawback was that my daughter got freaked out of the flying insects everywhere and inside the house. The insects don’t bother me. I like the tatami and comforter as they were in high quality and more comfortable than I expected. The place is remote, quiet and one of a kind wilderness experience which we needed for for holiday get away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cozy, well-equipped nd spacious cottage. In winter, this cottage must be a great stay. The dinner is very tasty.
- Yu Yan (8/5): A luxurious cottage experience in Biei - The cottage is spotless and extremely clean, though one needs to beware of small insects coming through the door in the summer. The French dinner is also delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is a japnese style cottage and i love the smell of pine wood once i entered the unit. And i completely fell in love with it after noticing that it was sparkling clean and cozy. I chosed to stay here because it is situated in nature. And, i drove. Hence my family and i were able to access Biei town and Tokachidake areas easily. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The view is amazing. Bathroom is very small, typical for Japanese room.
- Ming (10/5): - peaceful location, nicely built loft house, great experience
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hut was nice and cosy. It was very clean and well-maintained. Food at the restaurant was great. Overall a very pleasant stay. Would definitely go back.
- Jin (10/5): - Great stay with beautiful house. Dinner and breakfast was wonderful. Will come back in the winter to have a different view.
