Please note that there is no lift at HighRoad Washington DC. The property is only accessible by stairs. There are no main floor rooms, and the property is not wheelchair-accessible.

All guests staying in hostel-style, shared rooms must either provide a foreign passport or proof of address showing they live greater than 90 miles away from the property. Guests for hostel-style shared rooms cannot live closer than 90 miles from the property. All guests are required to show a valid government-issued ID, however, guests staying in hostel-style shared rooms who provide a US Passport must also provide valid proof of address showing they reside more than 90 miles away. (A US drivers license or other proof of address is acceptable).
All guests must complete our guest registration process after their reservation is made. This process is completed via link sent through a software partner of Highroad called Akia. This link is sent via email or SMS. Guests will use the link to confirm their reservation details, acknowledge house rules and policies, and upload their ID. Once this process is complete, guests will gain important stay information. This process is required in order to check in.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. - Alice Chunchun (9/5): complimentary amenities, friendly staff, well equipped kitchen - it’s a hostel but gives out all amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, earplugs etc. friendly staff. well equipped kitchen. all day free coffee and tea. about 20 min by bus to downtown DC at night it can be noisy since many bars are around the areas. but the earplugs provided solved this issue.

- Andrea (10/5): Un piccolo angolo cozy a Washington DC - Io e la mia famiglia abbiamo soggiornato in questa struttura davvero eccezionale; mi sono trovata benissimo e tornerei senza dubbi! L’ambiente era molto cozy, essenziale ma molto confortevole. Ho apprezzato tantissimo la disponibilità di tutti i gadget essenziali già presenti in struttura: spazzolini, dentifricio, asciugamani, tappi per le orecchie e molto altro. Un altro enorme punto a favore è stata la presenza di lavatrice e asciugatrice gratuite, con la possibilità di acquistare direttamente lì le pods per il lavaggio: comodissimo soprattutto per chi viaggia per più giorni. La camera era molto confortevole, con letti comodi e tantissimi cuscini, cosa che ho adorato. Anche la busta contenente la chiave era super utile perché ricca di informazioni pratiche su ristoranti, trasporti e consigli sulla zona. Acqua e caffè erano disponibili gratuitamente a qualsiasi ora del giorno e c’era anche una macchinetta h24 dove acquistare accessori essenziali come caricabatterie e altri piccoli oggetti utilissimi. L’unica cosa da tenere presente è che la struttura si trova vicino a una zona con molta vita notturna fino a tardi. Personalmente non è stato un grande problema, ma chi ha il sonno leggero potrebbe avere qualche difficoltà ad addormentarsi.

The room was quiet, clean, and though quite small it was well-appointed with everything I could want for a night's stay. The location of the property was excellent, with easy walking distance to lots of local bars and eateries, as well as very easy distance to public transportation. I had to check in very late d/t delayed flights, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. They also had lockers for me to store my extra luggage for a few hours after check-out which was very helpful. the deadbolt in the door to my room did not lock, but there was a flip-able lock so I felt relatively secure. there was also a loft-like area above my bed that I could not fully see into or access, which was mildly off-putting as a woman traveling alone.

I was a bit reluctant to stay in a six-bedroom at first due to privacy reasons, but there is a locker where you can place and lock your luggage. The location is great, close to shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again. During my one night, i didn’t encounter anything I didn’t like.

The bed is comfortable, the location is perfect, it is safe for solo travelers, the room is only accessible with a card, so it's really nice. They offer free toiletries, they have a functional shared kitchen if you love to cook, also they offer coffee and tea. The decoration is absolutely stunning. I loved it. I visited during the spring, and the temperature is a bit unpredictable. I thought there could be some warmer blanket options, as it gets a little chilly at night on some days.

- Lauren (1/5): Horrible, what was supposed to be a fun weekend getaway turned into a nightmare situation - Nothing! Our room looked like it would've been very nice, but we never got a chance to actually see it due to Highroad's incompetency. I was really excited to stay at Highroad and had a lovely room booked. Once we arrived, they said they didn't have our reservation despite the confirmation email we showed them. They blamed the discrepancy on Booking.com despite Booking.com having our reservation on file and them missing it. Our room was already booked by another traveler so they told us to find somewhere else. It was 7:00pm and we had a concert to get to for 7:30pm, so we ended up having to leave everything in our car and then drive three hours back home after the show and cancel our other DC weekend plans since we could not find another reasonably priced place to stay. Extremely disappointing; they did not offer to compensate us in any way.

You can take an Uber and be in downtown DC in no time. It’s a place where you can connect and meet new people. Luke is one of the staff here, he’s super nice and very friendly!
- Beatrice (10/5): Amazing - This is the best place that I visited in US... I was with my family and I really surprised how they are clean and comfortable zone. Staff can 24 help you! Everything is ecology, there is the laundry inside and they have a Soap dispenser inside the building. The stay was very pleasant, I recommend it.

- Vera (9/5): Ik heb me goed vermaakt en goed voor mezelf kunnen zorgen. - Je kreeg alles aangereikt wat je eventueel nodig zou moeten hebben, zoals restaurant, barretjes, winkels, parkeermogelijkheden ect. In de keuken waren goede mogelijkheden om zelf te koken en in de keuken en woonkamer waren eigenlijk altijd wel mensen die wouden praten. Alles beviel in het hostel qua faciliteiten. Het enige dat me opviel is dat het wat minder schoon was onder het bed, maar dat was alles. Het is in een drukke straat wat voor mij prima was, tenzij je echt snel wakker wordt van kleine geluiden straatgeluiden, dan is het wat minder fijn maar je kan ook gratis oordopjes pakken als je die nodig hebt.

- Leila (9/5): Amazing hostel would definitely return and recommend - The property was amazing the staff were so friendly and the other guests were really nice. The shared kitchen was so clean. The hostel felt so safe with a key pad to enter and it felt very homely inside. They were so good at holding luggage we got there at 8am on check in day we stored our luggage got changed, showered used the common areas. And they also left us to keep using the facilities till we left at 7pm on check out day. You did need to buy a padlock to lock the storage boxes but they had some for $5 so wasn’t an issue. The only negative would be the location it was about a 30 min walk or 20 min bus to the center however it wasn’t a problem the buses were regular and we Uber back at night which was about $20

- Savanna (9/5): very kind staff and i enjoyed how two doors locked at night. its within walking distance of a lot of good places and its - i loved how it was in the middle of the city and within walking distance of some very nice places. the building itself is also beautiful. the only con is there’s no elevator so there can be a lot of walking up and down stairs but it’s honestly not a problem and i would stay here again despite this.

- Tim (9/5): Great find in the heart of Adams Morgan - Loved the location and the coziness of the place. Right in the middle of everything in the neighborhood with lots of recommendations. Staff was super friendly, coffee available 24/7 is nice, and room w the loft was small but comfy for 3 of us. We weren't in our room too much so that wasn't a big deal. Wi-Fi fast, great common areas. If you're looking for a unique place to stay, this is it! Bumped my shins on things because the room was close quarters, but that's on me. Loft stairs are steep! About 10-15 min walk to the Metro. Mostly this is FYI, it didn't bother me at all. I had a great stay!

- Chiran (10/5): it was a good experience, but i recommend planning ahead if you bring your car - it was clean, near to all the best shops imo, near to bus and metro stations parking could have been better, i recommend coming asap to the this hotel as parking in DC is a nightmare, paid 78 dollars for parking for a total of 2 days of hotel stay

- Stephen (8/5): I would definitely be back for a short stay in DC - Great location in Adams Morgan, with lots of entertainment within a short walk. Cool boutique feel. Very reasonably priced for DC. Rooms are not large; but it turns out you don’t use all the space in hotel rooms anyway.
