Guest Reviews
- Stella (7/5): -
- stuart (7/5): - Flat was clean and warm. Entrance hall could do with some cosmetic work
- Marlene (8/5): A lovely apartment - Lovely Apartment good beds parking space The noise from the road
- Stefano (8/5): -
- Samantha (7/5): - Location and parking were great. Beds were comfy and property was warm Could use a bit of TLC - holes in walls and bathroom showing signs of damp/mould
Not a lot of storage for clothes, no rails to hang clothes and limited coat hangers
No tea bags at the property, would expect to have a few on arrival.
- Chloe (8/5): Spacious apartment in a fab location - Great location, nice and clean. Very spacious. Kitchen could be better stocked and some of the pans and utensils and pans have seen better days. Mould in bathroom also needs sorting
- Lauren (8/5): Really handy location and clean flat - Clean and comfortable. Bus stop right outside the apartment. Really handy for going into Durham. There are 2 bedrooms, not the one that i thought. There are supermarkets close by. Not a negative for us but steep stairs. No coffee machine and just 3 teabags. No welcome milk. The nearest eating pub is about a 15 minute walk- not a negative, just something to know. An uber into town was about £8.

- E K R (8/5): Good flat for uni visit if self catering - Great communication, good location for getting in and out of Durham by bus. A good space for my daughter and I to stay conveniently for uni open day. A few small house maintenance jobs would make this even better.
- Anne (7/5): -
- Daniel (7/5): Very cosy, comfortable and clean, great heating, all ammenities available. 10 min drive from Durham, - Very cosy, comfortable and clean, great heating, all ammenities available. 10 min drive from Durham centre. Mold in the bathroom. The staircase ceiling
- Madusha (9/5): - convinence, comfort and coziness all in one. This was our second time and we loved our stay. Wish the check out was at 11am, especilly in Winter.
- Jorge (9/5): very good - I like the location and the facilities The matress was too soft
- T (10/5): -
- Sara-Lee (10/5): Comfy and lovely, homely place to stay - Great location, easy to find, easy to park. Really comfy, good size, good price and had everything you would need
- Karen (9/5): Came for a northern soul all dayer, location of propert was ideal. - Easy to find. Parking. Good selection of local shops. Nicely decorated. Damp in the bathroom and hall way 😢
- Enela (7/5): -
- Anne (7/5): I did enjoy my stay at the apartment and it made a nice change to staying in local hotels. Parking facilities were good - Easy to get to, warm, comfortable and homely, close to facilities and easy parking. Convenient to get bus into Durham. Easy to book and I instructions on how to get in were given in plenty of time. Mould on ceiling of bathroom plus cobwebs and dust on walls in all areas of the apartment. Cooker, fan & microwave needed cleaning. Road noise at night was a bit distracting but soon got used to it.
- Kathleen (8/5): Good for a citibreak. - Apartment very clean, comfortable and warm (in a chilly October). Short bus ride into the city. Regular buses running all day and into later in the evening with stops almost outside the apartment. I would have liked somewhere in the bathroom to put our toiletries bag other than the floor (the window sill being a bit too high up for me).
- JIE (10/5): -
- Sau Sum (8/5): -
- Adam (9/5): - Very good communication with owner/manager, all things needed were there. Well connected to Durham centre. A bit noisy street.
- Michelle (7/5): Great stay. What we needed to visited family. - Location was great. Nice open plan flat. Quiet. Had everything me and the kids needed. Not what I didn’t like. But would’ve felt more secure with an extra lock into the actual apartment.
- philip (8/5): Comfortable accommodation just a 10 minute bus ride from Durham City Centre - Comfortable and clean, really comfy beds, all the basics you need with plenty of digital tv action Just minor-ran out of washing up liquid and downstairs may need a bit of plastering/painting
- Jacek (6/5): -
- Sandra (6/5): Cosy and convenient with a great bed and lounge, though the bathroom needs some attention. - We had a comfortable stay in this apartment. It was clean, with a very comfy bed and a cosy lounge area, and the location was convenient for getting into Durham city centre (just a couple of miles away with a local bus service). There’s also a great pizza takeaway nearby, which was a real bonus. The property could benefit from some attention in the bathroom, where we noticed mould around the shower and a leak. However, overall, it made a good base for exploring the area.
- Seamus (8/5): -
- Rhian (9/5): A comfortable stay close to Durham - It was clean and comfortable with all available amenities to include washing machine. It was a quiet location so had a peaceful nights sleep. No complaints.
- CoolmumSue (7/5): -
- Alan (8/5): Very good - Location good Lack of wardrobe
- Lauren (9/5): Very Comfy once you find the place! - Once found the accommodation and got up the stairs we were pleasantly surprised at how comfy the space was. An enjoyable stay. We found it quite difficult to find because the property cannot be accessed from address given. Better instructions or visuals could easily address this.
We found the stairwell very narrow and tricky.
- Natalie (8/5): We had a good time spending together and comfortable space to relax and enjoying our stay. - The property was very pleasant and the bed was very comfortable. It was located in the easy to find and convenient to get to the city . N/A
- Kaitlin (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (5/5): 2 miles outside Durham, apartment overall disappointing. - Bed comfortable. 1st impressions awful 'behind the massage parlour, drive the back alley, park in back yard, by the builders lockup unit & just inside the main east coast rail line, open the door, look up the dingy staircase, yes that's it!'🙈 ALSO BE AWARE, THIS IS NOT DURHAM, ITS A 50 MINUTE WALK TO DURHAM, where parking is scarce & expensive. The hosts had tried, but with the cobwebs, dirty light shades, breakfast bar which came away (!), mouldy shower & bathroom grout, leak stained walls & ceilings, stained/burnt carpet, stair liggt only operates from the bottom, it just goes on, all of which could easily be fixed
- Monique (8/5): Generally very good dtay. - The location was not great: back of building on a noisy street (traffic), ut once inside, it was fine. location on a quieter road…
Inside, everything was clean and comfortable. What passed as a table was actually a high counter with tall stools… not very comfortable for elderly people.
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Sally (9/5): All in all a good please to stay as bus route we very frequent - Booked a one bed apartment - but very happy to find it was a two bed apartment Traffic noise was a bit of an issue as it was warm and so had the windows open
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional - Liked everything about this property clean and cosy enjoyed our stay!☺️
- Borge (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean property, everything we needed. Easy to park, friendly neighbourhood. There is a main road at the front and a railway line at the back but we did not get disturbed by traffic noise at all. Any teething problems like using wifi or adjusting the heating were very swiftly sorted out by the host. Couldn't ask for more. Many thanks. One of us struggled with the stairs but other than that everything was good.
- Les (8/5): Believe this was our fourth visit in the last few years and we would use it again. - This is a self catering apartment. The bed was a little soft for someone with back issues.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Facilities Needs some touching up in areas
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Marie (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - It was clean, and comfortable. Lovely little apartment at a very fair price. It was a little further from Durham city centre than I thought, but this wasn't a problem......just a short uber ride👍
- Hayley (9/5): Superb -
- Abbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (10/5): A great relaxing place in a beautiful city - Ideally situated , parking and everything you needed Nothing
- Benedetta (9/5): Comfortable stay in a clean and well located apartment - It is a very comfortable apartment. It is located in Langley Moor, literally in front of the bus stop: with the bus you reach Durham in 10 min. The apartment is also very close to the two grocery stores (Tesco and Lidl). Both the living room and the two bedrooms are very comfortable. The wifi and television work well. The bathroom and kitchen could use some improvements. Unfortunately, the shower hose was leaking and the bathroom mirror is not positioned at the height of the person's face. In the kitchen, the pans are a little old and a roll of paper towels was missing.
- Tg (8/5): The apartment is cosy & assessible to convenient places. - Cosy Narrow stairs to the apartment
- Madhana (8/5): Great stay near the city centre. - The property has a nice decor and was very clean. It has got everything we needed for our short stay and the host sent the arrival instructions on time.
- Anthony (7/5): Well priced in Durham - On site Carpark. Well priced. On a good bus route with a enough bus numbers to make buses fairly frequent and only 12 min to Durham central bus station. 2 supermarkets nearby. Dining arrangement sitting on high stools at a small bench that was not properly fixed to the wall at one end. Quite steep stairs to apartment (one level). Bedroom a bit cramped for the person on the side away from the door getting round the foot of the bed in the middle of the night.
- Judith (4/5): There are better places in Durham - Location was not attractive and the place needed a good clean, particularly the kitchen equipment.
- June (8/5): Very good - Very clean Being on a main road, lots of noise from traffic
- Yuliia (10/5): Wonderful apartment and location, I highly recommend this apartment - Cozy, stylish, comfortable apartment exceeded our expectations. The apartment is larger than it seems in the photo. The apartment has everything you need. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Bed linen and towels are snow-white. It was the coziest and most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The owner of the apartment is attentive and responsive. We spent wonderful days in comfort in every way. Lovely apartment, there are two large supermarkets (Lidl and Tesco) close by, also a bus stop next to the house - 5 minutes and you're in Durham. We liked everything. Completely satisfied.
- Rachel (8/5): Very good - Cody flat with comfy bed. Around a 20min walk into UlDurham which we didn't mind. Bit noisy as beside a busy street.
- Peter (7/5): A bed for the night - The access to the property, including damp in the stairwell
- Marian (8/5): Very good - Comfortable apartment. Easy access to Durham centre by bus, bus stop close by. Difficulty getting key out of keysafe. Entrance needed smartening up.but pleased with apartment, once inside.
- Uday (10/5): Exceptional -
- Madusha (8/5): Good place to come back in the evening after a long day of sightseeing and walking. - I liked the inside layout of the property. Not too far to the bus stop and local amenities. Place was clean and overall quite comfortable. We will most certainly stay here, if needed. Wasn't very impressed with the Entrance to the property and felt it could have been cleaned and made bit more appealing. Some of the furniture were bit unstable and was worried of breaking anything. One window blind didn't work and so missed getting sun light. it would be good to keep a proper iron board and replace the current fan with two new ones as it becomes quite hot in Summer.
- Lynne (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (7/5): Overall a comfortable stay, cleaning needs improvement and yard area needs a complete resurface and other vegetation rem - Comfortable apartment Yard area dirty and vehicle access difficult due to the poor concrete also lots of screws nuts and bolts and other materials which could damage tires. Lock box difficult to open as it is damaged and needs replacing. Cobwebs on walls and ceilings. Lack of plug sockets in bedroom for hairdryer.
- Alison (7/5): Okay but wouldn’t return - Good facilities provided in terms of kitchen equipment, cutlery, plates etc Drive was dirty, lots of rubbish then the entrance/stairs were dirty and damp with a strong damp smell, luckily the accommodation was cleaner and less damp, except the bathroom which was damp and mouldy.
- Tina (4/5): Disappointing - Good communication The flat was really shabby and the area seemed a bit rough
- Susan (9/5): excellent - - It was comfortable and covered all our needs. Thank you I am not very good at parking and found it a little tricky- I was glad our car was a Citroen C3 not an SUV.
- Sara (10/5): Perfect for a stay in Durham had everything you needed only a short bus ride into the city centre very cosy apartment a - The home from home feel Nothing
- Hunkin (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet location, little bit out of city centre but good transport links and walkable. Loved the apartment, warm and cosy but plenty of space and good facilities. I felt like I could really relax there after exploring Durham and nearby places during the day. Would definitely book it again. The mirror in the bathroom ovee the sink could do with being fixed at a height convenient in the room for when I was shaving. Just a small gripe, everything else was great.
- Alice (10/5): A beautiful stay in Langley Moor in Durham. - Michelle answered straight away when i said i hadnt received an email about the property a few days before arrival, and the instructions to get in were clear. Nothing.
- Natalie (7/5): Good -
- Samantha (8/5): Great place to stay - It was a very homey and comfortable place with exceptional space and facilities. We found it especially nice to have a full kitchen and store food. The location was nice and there was good local shops and food places closed by and an easy bus into the city centre.we really enjoyed our stay here. Upon arrival, we found that the microwave wasn't clean and the kettle needed descaling meaning that we couldn't have tea in the apartment. The apartment was however clean and tidy otherwise.
They also stated there was a CD and DVD player available and this wasn't true.
- Leila (10/5): Great for a weekend stay in Durham - Bigger than I thought it was from the images and it had everything we needed
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katyal (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (9/5): Lovely apartment. Well equipped. Everything you would need. -
- D'alema (9/5): Superb -
- Claire (8/5): Apartment itself is cosy & welcoming. - Clean & bright. Everything you need is provided, iron, kitchen equipment etc. lovely comfy beds. Very homely. Entrance is from the rear off the main road which is a little dark & secluded but was ok as we were in a group.
- Glenda (9/5): Superb -
- Eve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liz (9/5): Superb - Lovely little studio with all amenities on the doorstep
- Sally (7/5): Good - Good location, can highly recommend going to the boyne pub over the road. Great prices and very friendly. A bit of road noise but that's to be expected due the location.
- Sally-ann (8/5): Great value location for a mini explore. We would definitely return! - Lovely apartment in a good location. Has it's own parking bay which is handy and walking distance to Tesco and Lidl as well as some great charity shops on the high street. The shower was fantastic here and its currently above a thai massage place so felt very relaxing when you could hear the spa music. Beds were very comfortable too. Carpet a little worn in places at the threshold and could do with repair as stabbed my foot at one point, not wearing shoes as carpet was light. Other than that, pretty happy.
- Emma (3/5): Heed my warning! If you decide to take the risk be prepared for a verbal lashing from the owner if you have a complaint! - Beds were very comfortable, bedding and towels were clean, hot & powerful shower, good location for the days out we had, private parking, well stocked tesco within walking distance. Property was filthy and unsafe, cobwebs in every room, holes in walls from removed curtains/blinds, dirty skirting boards, exposed carpet grippers, broken mirrors, dusty smoke alarm on window sill, food stains on walls, dirty sofa disguised with horrible grey throws, curled up rugs, dirty cutlery, drawers full of rubbish, holes in ceiling around light fitting, provided with dirty oven gloves/tea towels, mould in shower. Had to buy our own cleaning products. Poorly stocked kitchen, toaster has no handle and oven overheated and shut down on first use. Would have been cheaper/cleaner to stay in a travel lodge but we chose here because we wanted the cooking facilities. Luckily I brought my slow cooker and we managed.
We stuck it out for 4 days because we were out all day with the children and I didn’t want to waste my holiday waiting for someone to come and make repairs or have someone enter the property in our absence while our belongings were there. Highlighted our concerns to the owner on our return and received a highly aggressive and unprofessional response accusing me of money grabbing, of leaving the property in a poor state (towels were piled in the bathroom ready for washing, dishes were washed and left on the drainer, beds were unmade, we took out all the rubbish 🤷🏻♀️) and banning me from booking any future stays with them!!
Unfortunately Booking.com could not support us as we did not raise concerns when we were at the property. Lesson learned. I wish I could post all the photos I had taken but am only allowed to upload 4. No idea how this property has 4 stars. Definitely would not recommend!!
- Sarah (4/5): Disappointing - The bed was extremely comfortable. The property description is very misleading - the initial description with references to tennis courts and other facilities clearly applies to a completely different property. This apartment is over a massage parlour on a busy main road and is accessed up a narrow flight of stairs at the rear. The parking is in a dingy courtyard down a narrow road behind the high street that I would not feel safe walking down at night. The railway to the rear of the property was audible all evening and the noise from the busy main road on the bedroom side of the apartment was not conducive to a good night’s sleep.
Whilst the apartment was generally reasonably clean, issues such as the spikes sticking up through the carpet that stick in your feet and the curling up rug that had been mentioned in reviews several months ago have still not been dealt with. There is also only a small hand mirror propped on the bathroom sink which was no use whatsoever for my husband to shave. The kitchen is lacking basic equipment such as a chopping board, wooden spoon and bread knife and the oven overheats very quickly.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Raphael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (7/5): Comfortable beds, clean and tidy apartment - Very comfortable beds and pillows Location a few miles out of Durham
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Fab location, right next to the bus stop into town. Apartment was spotless and beds were really
comfy.
- Willaim (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable, good to have off road parking Bit further out of the city than I thought
- Beverley (8/5): Very good - Good bed, powerful shower. Comfortable sofa. Washing machine was useful. Outside area/ exterior a bit less than lovely
Only a breakfast bar for two to eat at.
- William (10/5): Exceeded our expectations - The interior and bedding was immaculate The property doesn't look much from outside but is a hidden gem
- Marianne (6/5): Pleasant - Wrong info about its location. Its actually behind Thai massage. Not in or very near Durham with limited food options and uninviting for walks. Light bulbs missing bottom stairs and over couch. If meant to accommodate 4 then not enough seating. Only bar stools for breakfast. No table. Not good for older folk.
- Doreen (6/5): Pleasant - It was convenient. The road traffic. The smoke alarm was placed in the window. The rug was curled at the edges quiet dangerous. The shower was slow to drain.we were were frightened of it flooding the bathroom.. We couldn't get the oven to work.
- Martin (6/5): Cosy flat in good location two miles out of city centre. - Handy for busses although not very many of them on Sunday or later in the evening and the local circular route (49) has different stops on different streets depending upon direction. The location is also very good for local shops and pubs (no cask ales mind) and there are also some pleasant walks in the locality along former railway lines and in nearby Holiday Park. The flat is above a shop on a main road so there was quite a lot of traffic noise late into night and early next morning. It also backs onto the East Coast Mainline so plenty of train noise too. Probably less of a problem in Winter when you can close all the windows but if I stayed again I'd take earplugs whatever the season. The key safe is also in a dark corner so that would be a problem in Winter. Could maybe do with a coffee table or small tables for eating / drinking in front of TV.
- Catherine (9/5): Superb - Nice and roomy apartment with good facilties. Beds comfortable. Nice TV and Wi-Fi fine. Had most of what we needed for short stay. Benefits from parking space. There is road traffic noise at the front and fast trains passing at the back. Otherwise it was quiet.
- Amanda (8/5): Very good - Clean, parking available,
- Laurence (7/5): Good -
- Rosie (7/5): Good -
- Judith (8/5): a really good short stay venue for Durham - the property was clean and tidy and well equipped . it’s also very convenient for the bus stop into Durham there were weeds growing round the entrance. there is also mould in the bathroom that needs attention
- Shaf (5/5): Passable -
- Robbe (9/5): Superb -
