The view from the room. Cold shower.
Parking on the street.
- Paul (8/5): - Great position on the sea front. Friendly and welcoming. Good food with large portions. Comfortable rooms within the limitations of an old building.
- Grant (8/5): Fabulous day and night with great food and drink and the service was friendly, efficient and helpful. - Amazing view. Quite quaint but ideal for a short stay. N/a

- Ian (8/5): The Crown in Portpatrick - Food location and atmosphere Noise after 11pm - but then it's a pub so no surprises
- Duncan (8/5): A reasonably priced stay in a nice location. Very convenient for the ferry to Northern Ireland - Great location Nothing
- Pat (8/5): - Great value for money. Breakfast, evening meal & staff were all superb. No car park but plenty free parking available nearby. Great sea view from the room. Room a little dated and could do with some TLC
- neil (8/5): top hotel and location ,live music sat and sun nights ,great buzz - breakfast was great Live music sunday night until wee small hours .
- Janice (8/5): We enjoyed our stay good food, location and weather. - Breakfast was fabulous, great selection and staff couldn’t have been friendlier.
Location is perfect right in the middle of the main street looking out to sea. We liked everything, was a very welcoming place.
- Patterson (9/5): Good stay good bar and food - Excellent good choice of menu

- Petra (9/5): -
- Keith Dimelow (9/5): - Great staff, great food, very clean rooms There's not much in the area, it's a pretty little town, ut very small and remote
- Pettit (9/5): Overall fantastic great staff and brilliant menu etc - Right on the front at the harbour Minor point but our room was quite small. Very comfy though with a great sea view
- Tricia (7/5): - The staff. Left earbuds and they posted them out to us very quickly at no cost. Much appreciated. Thank yous and well done almost forgot to add. Lovely big comfortable bed! Shower was rubbish.
- Harper (10/5): Excellent stay! - We had a lovey long weekend in the Crown. Our sea view room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food here is amazing - we were very impressed with the quality of the breakfast, they were fabulous each morning. And the evening meals were just as good. Highly recommend. We slept like logs after lovely long cliff top walks in and around PortPatrick during the day. But if you’re a light sleeper bring ear plugs - you are staying above a pub. This didn’t bother us at all and the food was worth it.
- Forbes (10/5): Great value stay, it was better than I expected for the money we paid. - Everything was fab. Would return. Tv reception wasn’t great.
- Scott (10/5): Great food fabulous staff entertainment was brilliant x - The breakfast was fabulous the staff are all so friendly best hotel in Portpatrick we also had dinner which was superb. We were looking at a roof not a good view did request a sea view but I know this isn't always possible.

- Tomfromayrshire (6/5): Unwelcoming - This is a busy place but as visitors we were not made to feel welcome. We spent a lot of money during the day/evening. We then ordered dinner, we forgot to order a shandy for my two granddaughters, aged 14 and 15, with their main course. We asked if they could have it with their dessert but the man, who I think is the manager, not the owner said no. By this time we’d spent even more money. We had a tiny shitzu with us, my son in law lifted him onto his knee only to be told, you can’t lift him off the floor. He’d been perfectly behaved and under the table, he was just getting a cuddle. Then at 7.45pm the same man behind the bar told us it was almost time for the “children” to go! Therefore we all left and did not get to see any of the entertainment. Therefore only redeeming factor was that the food was excellent. I’d definitely not recommend if you have children or dogs. I’d think twice about returning to be honest
- Andrew (10/5): We were very late arriving and Mel was outstanding assisting our entry after midnight. -
- ANNE (5/5): Lovely place to visit spoilt by the accommodation - Location and breakfast. Too many dogs in the bar, and at the bar despite signs requesting no dogs at the bar. The loud late music and the shouting at a birthday party on the Saturday night.
- Douglas (7/5): Entertainment very noisy, could not get hot water from shower - Bedroom was spotlessly clean. Staff were excellent and friendly. Food was very good Could not get hot water in shower during my 3 night stay. Staff talked me through how to work shower controlls but still no hot water. Also very noisy entertainment in bar until 11.30pm. No chance of an early night!
- tracey (10/5): - Room was lovely and spacious, bathroom large and facilities excellent. Nothing I didn't like.
- Joan (10/5): - Location was great, hotel was spotless, food and atmosphere was great
- Susan (7/5): - Breakfast and girl who served it excellent all staff very helpful
Great night time music View graveyard dated decor leak bathroom ceiling
Checking in at bar which was very busy having to wait on people getting served drinks
- Eddie McKinley (10/5): Loving Portpatrick - Great spot on the front with a fantastic view.
Stayed here on a few occasions and the food was fantastic. Everything was great.
- Graeme (9/5): Great location and service - Position A Nothing
- Elaine (7/5): Nice hotel with great location however because of the live music on at weekends - Location is perfect Rooms were very small
Live music on until 12 which made the hotel particularly noisy
- Edward (10/5): - Beautiful location, great food and friendly staff.

- Robert (10/5): Nice relaxing night away. - Loved the area and welcoming staff. The young lady that showed us to our room etc, also took our dinner and breakfast order was really friendly and welcoming as can be said about all the staff they made us feel at ease, Made me and my son feel welcome .
- Andrew (9/5): - Excellent location, very nice staff and lovely meal (superb chips)and breakfast.
- Paul (7/5): -
- Wendy (8/5): We had a lovely time. The room was clean, the food great. As for the staff they were brilliant... - The breakfast was ideal. Ask for poached eggs, they are the best I've tasted...
Everything else was lovely also... I thought hard on the question but couldn't think of anything...
- George (10/5): Very nice hotel and brilliant staff - Lovely hotel the staff and owner were very helpful and friendly and food was great will definitely be back Showers not working properly but they said they will get it sorted
- Rosemary (10/5): Perfect Stay - Everything. The location, the food, the staff, the entertainment. Nothing
- Linda (7/5): Stay was good excellent breakfast and staff only downfall was our room - Breakfast was lovely and location was perfect Our room was up in the attic with slopped roof where the bed was my husband is tall so therefore wasn’t ideal for him and you basically had to crawl under slope to get into bed
- Allan (8/5): Will be back but .. - Stay here often. Great hotel, fab menu. Great breakfast. Staff friendly. There was live music directly under our room. VERY LOUD. Didn’t know about this and wasn’t told by hotel. Sleep impossible. Band on Friday night banged on past midnight!
Not happy at the lack of communication
Shower pressure was poor
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Excellent Breakfast and Portpatrick as a location speaks for itself Nothing really
- Ken (10/5): Come here for some great food, live music, friendly staff, and a comfortable room. - This is a great pub / hotel; more of an Inn to be precise. The real attraction is ATMOSPHERE. Live music 3 nights a week; the seafood is straight from the sea, and the whole place gives character to the small town.
- Eileen (9/5): -
- Lynsey (10/5): Excellent stay ,great service ,friendly staff ,will go back - Breakfast and evening meal delicious
Comfortable bed
Walk in shower
- Jan (1/5): Horrible room we didn’t stay there as it was too awful - Nothing We didn’t stay as the room really smelt dreadful like old fish and stale sweat, with fabreez spayed over the top of the stink! It was small and dark and dirty and was directly over the kitchen with the fan from the kitchen outside the window and it looked over a roof and graveyard .. dreadful room - we were very upset and disappointed after driving for 2 days to get there. We had to find somewhere else to stay.
- Rob (8/5): A great stay in a superb location. Staff are exceptionally helpful and obliging. - Hard working hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great food just hit the spot!
- Christopher (10/5): Would stay in this hotel again. - Breakfast was first class, and plentiful.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Una (9/5): Very enjoyable - Staff, breakfast and location excellent. Nothing
- Yvonne (10/5): This hotel is such a gem in Portpatrick well worth the drive to stay there. - The beds were so comfy and the staff was really nice and the food was amazing. NOTHING
- Archie (7/5): Good - Location excellent, good breakfast. Late night outside noise
- Beverly (8/5): Stayed two nights, it was fine for what I needed, would stay again - Lovely breakfast and location Room was a bit basic
- Tracy (5/5): CROWN - View from room 6 lovely, good shower comfortable bed Bar area tired . Disappointed in the food
- Anne (10/5): -
- William (8/5): Good wee break for our anniversary. - Karaoke on Friday night , my wife and I went to bed at 10pm and could still hear the shouting and "singing" until 1am. This was despite us being the furthest away room, and not helped by the firedoors being left open.
- Margaret (10/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): - Great food and friendly staff. A comfortable room with everything required for our stay and excellent value for money.
- Mcclure (9/5): - What a fantastic place staff are so lovely very helpful

- Chris (10/5): -
- Colin (9/5): Very pleasant and comfortable stay. - All food was nice and promptly served. Staff were all very helpful. The bath in room 12 was awkward to get in and out for a shower. For older guests a walk in shower would be better.
- Craig (10/5): The best hotel in Portpatrick and we’ve stayed in them all apart from The Mount Stewart. - Warm, welcoming, location, staff and food was excellent. Nothing
- Grantham (8/5): Lovely harbour town. Everyone friendly. - Perfect location on the harbour front. Room spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly. Food excellent All good.

- Kenneth (8/5): Gulfin - Very friendly, great location & food was good. What's not to like!
- Kathryn (8/5): Staff were very helpful, good breakfasts. - Good location with great views of the sea. I had a loft room which wasn’t as shown on website. My room was much smaller than I expected.
- Sue (7/5): - Fab location, lovely traditional pub, comfy bed, delicious food! Some lovely staff. Really compact room, shower did not function very well, didn’t really feel that it was worth the money for the room.
- Christina (10/5): - Very friendly staff and good food Nothing
- Jesse (10/5): - Very Charming spot, great character.
- Keith (8/5): Very pleasant to visit and looking to return next summer! - Clean, good food and comfortable!
- Nick (10/5): Great hotel would definitely recommend. - I have stayed here several times whilst working in Stranraer. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is great as always. I always eat in the bar as you don’t need to book. I stayed in one of the loft rooms with a sea view which was lovely. Room clean and comfortable.
- Iain (7/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): -
- Martin (9/5): - Clean and comfortable room.
We had dinner in the hotel which was excellent and breakfast the following morning was also good.
- Kathryn (10/5): Wonderful stay - We could not rate the Crown highly enough! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the views were great.
All the meals we had at the Crown were absolutely delicious.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
We will definitely be back one day.
