- Janine (10/5): Hidden gem, will definitely be coming back! - Although our room was small, it had everything we needed. It was well decorated and clean with good tea making facilities, which was helpful as we were at the top of three flights of stairs. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was probably the best we've ever had at a B&B. They also do great coffee and you can take it away. A few knocks and marks on the decor. The bed was a double and we are used to a slightly larger one but it was still comfortable.

Didn’t enjoy the music from the bar booming through the floor until midnight. Also the mattress and pillows weren’t great.
- RedThunderbird (10/5): Excellent, hope to visit again. - Top location, comfy room, great bathroom and toiletries, EXCELLENT cooked breakfast, delicious dinners, very pleased. Staff very nice and friendly, bar at night very lively but rooms totally quiet. Decoration and music at the bar ten points ;) Just to give an opinion: My room had no external windows and was very dark. I didnt mind because was very hot weather so it kept cooler, but had I been in winter or longer stayed, I would have minded. The bathroom was super light. No mat on the bathtub, or safety handles, bit slippery and potentially dangerous for someone like me. Also, no lift so those with heavy luggage, pushchairs, wheelchairs please check in advance, not sure if it would suit.

- S (10/5): One of our favourite places to stay. - The room is a great size and has a fine view of the sea. It sits atop its own bar which is one of my favourites and would definitely be my local if I lived in the area. This is also a great place to eat including the sublime breakfast. Combing relaxed and efficient is an art and they have the art. A couple of the windows don’t close properly so there was a slight disturbance from road noise in the morning. I apologise for not mentioning it before we left. Not a complaint and wouldn’t stop us returning.

- Venetia (10/5): Nice stay at the Wayfarer rooms Bexhill. - The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and cosy and comfortable. The beds were comfy the bathroom was very new and up to date. Had hairdryer in the room. Along with a good selection of teas and coffees and biscuits and a bottle of water. Had a iron and ironing board on the landing. Nice thick towels even had a face flannel. Breakfast was nice and large cooked breakfast and included nice tasty scrambled eggs and local sausages. Right opposite the De la Warr Pavilion and beach and round the corner to shops. Opposite bus stops. Would recommend it to anyone and would definitely stay again. A bit noisy as the bar downstairs has live music, but not that bad.

- Nigel (9/5): A wonderful atmospheric hotel and bar with superb staff and excellent food - well cooked & presented - The atmosphere of the place was amazing - when I got there at about 4pm, the bar was really busy, with people chatting away and having fun. In the evening the food (fish and chips) was one of the best f+c meals I have eaten. Then they had a DJ who really got the evening going, so again the atmosphere was quite unique. The staff were incredibly friendly and really efficient. I really couldn't fault the place!

Didn't appreciate we were above a pub when it was booked. The pub was great - just a bit loud when they had a DJ there on Sat night. Possibly down to my research - not enough to put me off staying there again. Bathroom door with windows that weren't fully frosted, so you could see through them from the bedroom - bit weird!
- jane (8/5): Lovely accommodation with a perfect view. - Amazing location opposite the beach so we could sea the sea all the time. The staff were so helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was tasty and freshly cooked with local ingredients. It took a time to arrive as it was cooked to order which could have been difficult if you were anxious to leave quickly but was no problem for us. It was noisy in The evening until the restaurant and bar shut and all the customers left which was gone 11.30pm. As it was a warm weekend the customers were sitting in tables outside waiting for taxis and that was after midnight and quite noisy.

Clean and comfortable with great breakfast It was so noisy !!! I was right above the bar and I had no idea when I booked that there would be very loud music and a DJ on until half past midnight ! My room was literally shaking and I couldn’t even hear my TV. I thought it was just a bistro restaurant when I booked so I really wasn’t impressed. It totally ruined the stay for me.

- tracey (6/5): - Very comfortable beds, and quiet , no traffic noise; liked the thoughtfully chosen colours in the room; Lovely ambience/decor in bar; perfect for being so close to De la Warr pavillion for concert. Sadly a misunderstanding meant single bed hadn't been made up(we booked room with double + single in order to effectively have a twin room) ;the nice lady working that night in bar reassured us she would sort it, but alas was unable to due to being only person working the bar that night, so we returned from concert and still unmade, but didn't want to be a nuisance so one of us had to sleep on bed fully dressed without a cover/quilt - lucky it wasn't a cold night! If we'd known that would happen, we could have just booked a double room and saved the extra money....

- Leigh (8/5): Excellent hotel above a bar - Great location overlooking the beach. You check in at the Compass Bar which was quick and convenient and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. The room was bright and airy with windows that open and a kettle with tea coffee hot chocolate and biscuits. The room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious although our poached eggs were hard and not runny. The coffee was superb. They had a DJ at the bar on the Saturday night who played extremely loud deep bass music so even though we were on the third floor we could hear it with all windows closed and could feel the vibrations from the bass.

Whilst we visited my husband was unwell and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. It was really appreciated by us as their kindness enabled us to enjoy our stay. Thank you it really helped. Our room had no natural light which was a shame.

- Tobias (5/5): Sehr freundliches Personal, Zimmer schön, Bad leider ohne Geruchverschluss an der Dusche und grenzwertig ausgestattet. - Das Personal war sehr engagiert, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer waren hübsch eingerichtet. Die Bäder der Zimmer waren teils mit Schimmel in den Ecken versehen. Eins der Zimmer hatte keinen Geruchverschluss an der Dusche. Als eir kamen war davon nichts zu merken. In der Nacht sind wir aufgewacht mit eine Geruch, wie in der Kanalisation. Ein nasses Handtuch und Stosslüften haben es gerichtet. Das Bad war wie ein Plastikfertigbad, Dusche mir Rissen, Waschbecken so klein, dass die Hände kaum rein passten und der Spiegel rechts nebe dem Waschbecken und nicht davor. Für den Preis unangemessen. Frühstück am Wochenende erst ab 09 Uhr, was auch nicht erkennbar war bei der Buchung. Insgesamt als sehr gemischt..

- nicolas (8/5): - Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, de l’accueil jusqu’à notre départ. Bien que nous soyons arrivés en avance, nous avons pu obtenir notre chambre plus tôt que prévu, ce qui a été très apprécié. La chambre était spacieuse et offrait une jolie vue sur la mer. Nous avons très bien dormi : malgré l’emplacement face à la route, nous n’avons entendu aucun bruit de circulation. Le bar situé en dessous propose des animations, ce qui crée une ambiance très sympathique. Concernant le petit déjeuner, il doit être précommandé la veille. L’assiette était très bonne ; le seul petit bémol concerne celles et ceux qui ne sont pas très à l’aise avec le petit déjeuner anglais.

- Derek (8/5): Very good stay and would return. - The staff were fantastic. The location is excellent for the activities we had planned. Although the breakfasts were very good one breakfast was served with poached eggs when scrambled had been ordered and there was eggshell in one fried egg. The shower was too small and had nowhere to put toiletries. Also there was only a tiny space between the bottom of the bed and a wall so getting to the far side of the bed was difficult. When we stayed there before we had a much more spacious room.
- Karen (9/5): I would thoroughly recommend staying here, short walk from Bexhill Station and opposite to the beach - Great location, friendly and accommodating staff. They arranged an early check in for me at short notice. A wide choice of breakfast items. I had a satisfyingly full English breakfast, much needed after my night out. Some of the surfaces were dusty such as the kettle & mirrors.

She was so patient with impatient customers even though she was on her own behind the bar. Two floors up. I would suggest a Stenna lift.

The only frustration is parking which is a public car park across the road, the app for which didn’t work so we had to remember to buy a ticket each day. Not the fault of the accommodation, however a heads up might have been helpful.

Not given the code to get in or explain how side door is used . Really unhappy . couldn’t find the place not very clear at all . Would not stay again . Wish I had paid more for a sea view as the room we had had no view at all. A window that looked onto a brick wall The room had no natural light. Very dark and at times smelt of cooking fat. Comfy and served the purpose for a night but wouldn’t book this room again.

- Sharon (10/5): Great place to stay!0⁰0 - I booked 2 king size rooms for my sons 30th birthday . They were both spotless and the location was great. Right on the seafront with a car park across the road and right by the theatre where we were seeing Jason Manford last night. Rooms were stocked with teas, coffees , biscuits and water which was lovely and appreciated. Breakfast was fab in the bistro downstairs. All good!
- Charlotte (9/5): A fantastic stay and we have already recommended Wayfarers to others. - Fantastic location close to the De La Warr Pavilion where we were attending a concert; the sea about 100 metres away; shops and lots of places to eat nearby; lovely friendly and helpful staff; very clean ensuite room and surroundings; a good breakfast; parking across the road and an easy check-in. The score would have been 10/10 if there had been more natural light in our bedroom, but this was due to the window facing an exterior wall and there's nothing that can be done about that, so this is not a complaint, just a justification for 9/10!

- Margaret lynette (10/5): Friendly stagg - It was a beautifully decorated room, relaxing to be in and warm. As well as coffee, tea, milk and a kettle there were packs of special biscuits. There was a wide, appetising selection on the breakfast menu to be enjoyed in the attractive Compass Bar. A clearer sign to say outside the cafe/bar that it was the Compass Bar leading to the Wayfarer rooms.

The staff were exceptional. The bed linens and pillows were a bit tired looking and could do with an update.

Beautiful decor, great location for everything, lovely food, comfortable modern rooms. There was not anything I didn’t like. I would definitely stay again but would request a room on a higher floor or at the back. We were in room 2 directly above the bar so we heard music until midnight. It did not ruin our stay at all but for anyone who retires early, the music would disturb them.

Bathroom needed a lick of paint and was tricky to get to the loo behind the door. Please serve tea in a pot at breakfast (bag in a mug felt a bit weird)
- David (8/5): I would recommend Wayfarer Rooms to anyone wanting a good value stay in central Bexhill. - Excellent breakfast with good choices for vegetarian vegan people, served by cheerful staff, comfortable bed and a choice of bath or shower in a spacious bathroom. The bathroom needed a shelf over or near the sink, and the soaps etc were positioned for a shower-user, not for anyone having a bath. Bedside lights could not be held in position to help with reading in bed.
