• Tanujjoshi (10/5): A historic gem in the heart of Ollantaytambo! - We had an amazing three-night stay here with our small kids. The location is perfect—right in the middle of everything but still incredibly peaceful. Our room had the best of both worlds: from one window, we could see the mountains, ruins, and the morning clouds, while from the other, we could hear the relaxing sound of water flowing through the ancient stone channels. The staff were so helpful and guided us throughout our entire stay. We also loved the breakfast! It was fresh and delicious, with eggs made to order, local fruits, breads, and berries. It’s a very calming experience right in the Sacred Valley, and there are excellent cafes and dinner spots just steps away. I really wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended!

Room was spacious, clean and the bed / pillows were very comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Ollantaytambo. Just a min walk to the main centre and everything you need.

Definite 5 stars and would stay here again!

• Anna (10/5): Very comfortable and very comforting! - This is a modest yet extremely comfortable guest house. It is not a hotel, but has many of the same amenities such as: a secure room with key, the ability to leave luggage for a bit of extra time on your final day, room cleaning daily, daily breakfast. It also has a sweet garden in the back for sitting, and the best thing about it is Jorge, the owner/manager who speaks English and is accomodating and kind (including helping us to make a sandwich and grab some fruit for our early morning train to Machu Pichu. BTW the coffee is terrific! The Guest house is located in the old part of the town and while it is about a 10-15 minute walk to the train, it is by far the more interesting and charming part of the town to stay in if you are staying more than one night as we did. We were there before high season, and so had the opportunity to feel a little bit 'part of the family' as they prepared for the influx of tourists who are likely there now. We also took advantage of the offer to have the guest house do a load of our laundry for 10 soles (approx. 3 USD) which was terrific. Felt like a home away from home. If we were to stay again we would request an upper floor with a view of the ruins, but because we were in low season that part of the hotel was not open to guests yet. (our lower floor room did have the view however). *travel tip: We encourage others to really wander the town, find the hidden markets, and go to the lower ruins in town at no cost...there is a sort of 'pop up' restaurant in a little field next to the ruins and we found some magic there.

• Ronelle (10/5): - Our favorite part of Parwa Guest House is that it’s a multigenerational home. The family still lives on the property and runs the guest house. The location was great. Quiet and close to the main plaza. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Our patio had seating and a view of the Sun Palace ruins. It also overlooked the river which we enjoyed hearing from the property. Breakfast was lovely.

The location was perfect—convenient to the train station and the main square. Mr. Jorge and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We appreciate the clean room, reliable hot water and wonderful breakfast daily!
• Fernando (10/5): Amazing people and very comfortable stay. - Very convenient location. 4m walk to the square. We'll lit path to walk on in the dark. I was abit nervous about traveling alone with kids and he called me to see if I had any questions and I immediately felt relieved. He spoke good English and was easy to communicate. He upgraded my room (it's low season) and I had a rather private room which meant my kids were abit free. We could see the ruins from our windows. Our room had a small outdoor seating area as well. There's hot water with decent water pressure. Breakfast was made fresh daily. It was the same every day - scrambled eggs, bread and jam, yogurt. Juice and a bowl of fresh fruit. The family was very warm and took us to a local event which my kids enjoyed. Place was very clean. They cleaned my room and changed towels which was unexpected and great. Internet connection wasn't very good and might be a problem for people looking to have zoom calls. There were water bottles available at the office, not a big deal for short stays but I was there was a week and I didn't check the price at the local store until the last day which is when I realized it was 2x the price.

We stayed in 2 different rooms, 1 night before our trek, 1 night after the trek, the owner kindly looked after our luggage We booked a room with the bathtub as we wanted to soak after Machu Picchu trek but the owner explained the bath had been removed due to local water issues which was understandable and didn’t effect our stay

• Dorothee (10/5): Sehr freundlich Gastgeber in wundervollem sauberen guesthouse mit sehr schönem Garten - Parwa guest House war das beste was ich nach der Ankunft in Cusco tun konnte- durch die Medien und den Ausnahmezustand hatte ich schon Befürchtungen im Dezember 25 nach Peru zu fahren- völlig unbegründet! Zumindest nach Cuzco und sacred Valley kann man ohne Bedenken reisen! Alle Menschen die ich traf waren so freundlich und Jorge organisierte mir einen Fahrer von Cusco nach Ollantaytambo - eine wundervolle Strecke! Im guest House war es so gemütlich und ruhig, dass ich in Ruhe im schönen Garten und der Hängematte faulenzen und mich an die Höhe anpassen konnte - es gibt den ganzen Tag heißes Wasser und Coca Blätter oder Tee. Mein Zimmer (9) war groß und hatte einen schönen Blick und fühlte sich wie ein eigenes kleines Haus an. Insgesamt merkt man dass weniger Touristen die Reise wagen was für die Besitzer nich leicht ist, für mich bei den Besichtigungen natürlich sehr angenehm, denn außer Schulklassen und einigen einheimischen Familien war kaum jemand da. Aber es gibt eigentlich keinen Grund nicht nach Ollantaytambo und in dieses wundervolle Land zu reisen. Ich würde dann auch wieder bei Jorge im Parwa guest House wohnen.
• Cycling Gran D (9/5): This guesthouse was a great base for exploring Pizac. Highly recommend. - The breakfast was delicious- local fresh fruit, fluffy scrambled eggs, hot coffee, condiments, lots of bread. Served in a cozy well lit room. Staff were very friendly. Jorge and Annie were knowledgeable about local attractions and gave directions if needed. Hotel was a short walk to the main plaza. Rooms were very clean. Nice views from the room and was in a quiet location. The pillows on the bed were quite hard. The shower was difficult to use- the controls were finicky and a lot of water ended up on the floor. But otherwise, all was good

They welcomed us like family, helped arrange tours, and shared local insights that made exploring Ollantaytambo even more special. Breakfast each morning was delicious and fresh, the perfect start before heading out to explore the Sacred Valley. If you’re looking for authentic charm, comfort, and genuine hospitality, Parwa Guest House is the place to be. I can’t recommend it enough!

• Stephen (10/5): A 5 Star experience in a 5 Star location by a 5 Star host! - A 5 Star stay! Jorge and the team at Parwa Guest House were amazing. They were extremely helpful in every aspect of our stay from arranging a taxi pick up and drop off at Cusco, a local guide to explore the area, recommendations for cafes and restaurants (which were amazing!) and finally, Jorge connected me with a local and authentic Shaman where I experienced a one on one San Pedro Ceremony. The breakfast was soooo good and the room was clean and serviceable and the beds and pillows very very comfy. Finally the location couldn't be any better. Located in the historic district Parwa Guest House was only a short stroll away from the main town square. An amazing authentic experience. • JEW67 (10/5): Great reasonably priced stay - We stayed for two nights here to acclimate before Machu Picchu. We were both affected by the altitude. Considering the price, we stayed in a well updated, charming, spotless room with a view of the Incan ruins and garden. The breakfast was really fresh, with great coffee and freshly made eggs to order. It's a relatively level five minute walk to the main square with restaurants and shops and a little further to the ruins and tourist market. They do laundry and can organise transport and tours. The owner was really helpful when we left something in our taxi and later when we had trouble contacting our transport after taking the Peru Rail train. I think this a great place to stay for the price. I would stay again.

• Sara (8/5): Charming family guesthouse - Lovely guest house in an excellent location. Nice gardens and terrace areas. Great breakfast. It was nice to feel like you were in a family home rather than a faceless hotel. Access to kitchen so you can make tea at anytime (hooray - the only place I stayed at in Peru with decent sized tea mugs!). I had the choice of 2 rooms - one was quite large, but right by the entrance so potentially noisy. The other (which I chose) was quite small, but had a little terrace. This is to say, both room options had some drawbacks (other rooms that I sneaked a look into all looked lovely though!). The other downside to my room was that the only light came in via skylight, which of course couldn't be covered (and no window to let in fresh air). So I was wide awake at 5am because the room was fully light and it was quite stuffy in there with 2 of us. But these were actually small issues and we greatly enjoyed our stay.

• barbarapuddicombe (10/5): Excellent Stay/Terrific owner - Parwa Guest House was the perfect place for my son and I to stay after trekking the Inca Trail. We took the train directly from Aquas Caliente to the beautiful town of Ollantaytambo. Parwa Guest house is an easy walk from the train station and its central location makes all of town very walkable. From my initial contact with Jorge, the owner, everything was perfect. Jorge was always quick to respond to my inquiries before arriving and continued to be incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We stayed in the family room and it had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and included eggs, juice, fruits and breads. The woman preparing the breakfast is delightful. It is without hesitation that I recommend this property and would stay there again if I am ever fortunate enough to return to the beautiful town of Ollantaytambo.

• J3519AYnickg (10/5): Comfortable, clean, friendly and food value - We spent 2 nights at the Parwa guesthouse in Ollyantambo, en route to Cusco and to be closer (and lower) when visiting Machu Picchu. As others have said, it is family run and very friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a great view. The bathroom had a well functioning shower. For the price ($90 per night), and given the great location near the main square, we thought it good value. Not having Spanish as a language, it was helpful to us too that excellent English is spoken.

Breakfast could be better as it was limited to just a cereal, drinks, bread and scrambled eggs. The addition of some fresh fruit and yoghurt would make a difference.

• Kai Leng (8/5): - It was by the road and I appreciated not having to drag my suitcases over cobbled stones paths.. which is all around the town. Was very sick from altitude sickness from check-in until next day and Jorge was very kind and provided lots of local remedy to help me get over it. The guesthouse had the best pillows I ever had on a holiday! My room was at the front of the guesthouse and right by the public passage way.. people walking and talking right outside my window. Ear plugs helped a lot.

• Evan (6/5): - The owner and family at the guesthouse are very nice people, and the actual room we stayed in was in good condition and clean when we arrived. However my biggest criticism is that wifi was fully unusable in the room, and that every night hundreds of small flies would enter the room. This would be fine by itself, but room service is only everyother day, so it meant coming back to a room covered in dead flies. Despite this i still think this is one of the better options in Ollantaytambo.

Ficamos 4 dias… em 2 dias tivemos problema com o banho… frio não esquentava…. Reclamamos e tivemos que esperar 1 h! O preço cobrado não é para economia de gás para aquecer a água!
• Laure (10/5): Lovely property with an attentive, helpful host! - It is tucked away in a quiet corner of town, yet easily accessible to the center of town and its activities. Also, Jorge is a gracious host, quick to respond, and he even helped us sort things out with a tour operator when we inadvertently booked the incorrect date for a tour. The first night there were some tiny ants in the bathroom, along an exterior wall. We mentioned it to Jorge and the next night was much better.

• Vincent (9/5): Cute and clean. Close to everything! - Great location. Easy walk to town center and the ruins. The beds were comfortable and clean. We had hot water for showers. Breakfast was the sweetest - our host cooked up eggs and served fresh fruit, juice, teas, warm bread, cheese and jams. There was soft wood flute music playing giving the most relaxing ambiance. There was a little courtyard garden with seating areas in the sun or shade. The host was communicative and helpful. There’s a bit of echoing in the house from other guests. I brought ear plugs so it was fine but I would have had a hard time falling asleep with the other voices from Around the house had I not brought them. But I’ve found this to be the case every place we have stayed in Peru so far. It goes with the territory of old buildings. This is the only reason I gave them a 9 instead of a 10.

We enjoyed Ollantaytambo it is a lovely sleepy town to visit, it has a very authentic feel. A central location with lots within a 3 min walk which was fab. The hotel provides laundry service which was much appreciated after the Inca Trail! The breakfast is simple, ok for vegetarians but not the best for vegans. We had a slight problem with the hot water.

• Jeanette Renk-Mulder (10/5): - Tolle Lage, schöner Garten mit mehreren Terrassen und Sitzecken, leckeres Frühstücksbuffet, Jorge ist supernett und hilft gern beim Planen und Organisieren, gute Betten, schönster Ort in Peru, super Basis für Machu Pichu, Sacred valley, und Wanderungen vor Ort. wir waren hier 3 Tage und 4 Nächte und haben es sehr genossen! Ollantaytambo lohnt sich sehr und in diesem Guesthouse kann man die Zeit echt genießen. Der Aufenthaltsraum ist schön und gemütlich und abends darf man die Küche benutzen. Danke lieber Jorge! 😀
