• Rebecca (10/5): Fabulous place - Beautiful lodge, very tranquil and peaceful place to be. Lovely owners. Big central area with sofas and a huge kitchen all overlooking a big garden. Well equipped kitchen. Ultra clean shared bathroom. Small bedroom. 15 mins drive into town.

• Janet (10/5): It was fantastic - can’t recommend it enough!! - Very comfortable and had everything in the kitchen that you could want! It was very clean and the wood burning fire heated the place so well - it was really lovely I would highly recommend it- we will come back!

• Kim (8/5): I would thoroughly recommend the Old Bones Lodge, it was a great place to base myself to have a good look around the Oam - Well set out shared accommodation, I liked that the room had its own exterior door. The bed was comfortable. I liked the automatic lights in the hallway and toilet area. The kitchen was set up really well. Lovely outlook. Good car parking. Nice to have oodles of firewood to keep the fire going. Nothing, I liked it all.

• Jase (10/5): Perfectly warm, inviting, comfortable place to stay. We'll be back! - The kitchen was excellent to use, although a couple of the stove elements weren't working. Other than that little tid-bit it was great! The beds were so warm and comfy, the roaring fire in the lounge was lovely. Our host was genuine and friendly also. We have marked this as a place we WILL be booking again in the future. Absolutely stunning place. A couple of the stove elements were non-functional, but that's all! No other negatives, this place is awesome!

• Jocelyn (7/5): Much further out of Town than we thought. - The shared kitchen and bathroom were clean and well equipped. I think that if part of your street has been closed for 4 months, you should let guests know that. It would have saved us a lot of time, petrol, frustration at the end of a long day in the car. The double bed and the room felt extremely small.

• Irina (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place and very nice people who run it - Karen and Grant. Design of this lodge is very clever: you can have lots of privacy and at the same time enjoy well organized communal space. Everything is very clean. Hot tub was an unforgettable experience!
• Kate (7/5): Good - Very comfortable. Spotlessly clean in all areas. Well maintained grounds. Very well equipped kitchen. Warm fire and Very pleasant communal area. I arrived 45mins early of check in time, very tired after a long drive. Not allowed even inside the building for a toilet or cuppa in the kitchen. But after staying a night I saw the heavy workload the lady had to manage as the sole person responsible for the lodge, check outs, clean the whole place and book the next guests in. The man again seemingly solo in maintaining the large grounds and maintenance so understood the need for firm 3pm arrival.

• Debra (8/5): Hot tub in the cold drizzle was the highlight of the day! - The location was quiet and we could appreciate the natural beauty of the area. The managers were very kind and the hot tub was wonderful. The common areas were spotless and well appointed. Our room was tiny, the mattress was uncomfortable.
• Peter (8/5): - We had some issues finding The Old Bones due to road closure and satnav not knowing about it. It would pay to check for directions. Once there though we found Karen and Grant very friendly and helpful. Our room was fine, nice and clean, there's a communal area for cooking, eating or relaxing on a couch too. Bathrooms are shared with the other guests but very clean and well maintained. It's a short walk to the beach too.

If I’m ever in the area I know where I’m staying! - The location was great and the overall feel of Old Bones Lodge is so so warm and inviting :)) Karen waited up to greet us as we arrived at 10:30pm. It would be good to potentially think about putting in a late arrival procedure. It was amazing that Karen stayed up but also we felt bad knowing she had to. If there were some basic instructions and a location to grab the key that would be great. However the hospitality was amazing 10/10.

• Young-hee (9/5): A great lodge and base from which to visit Moerecki boulders and St Clair beach in Dunedin! - The lodge was close to the town but remote en not to hear any traffic or cars, it had a great view of the ocean and beach and the grounds were beautiful. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed as was the common area. It was nice to have a fireplace for the evening. Nothing really.
