Guest Reviews
- Kate (10/5): - Lovely relaxed staff
Extremely clean rooms and bathrooms
A cheap cost as backpacker style but my partner and i had our own room and were very happy.
- Aaron (6/5): - No a/c or tv in room. Wasn't quite what we expected but was adequate for 1 night.
- Warangkana Na (4/5): - Great that it's near to beach and shops but noisy from local permanent residents.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Friendly staff. Clean toilets.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - nothing
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Worst 'motel' if you can call it that, more like a drunks hangout spot.
I have ever stayed at. Room stunk...a bright light was on all night right out front of my window...other guests played loud music until 2am... don't waste your money... i actually can't believe they are able to open and charge...the mattess was foam !!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Cheap
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Reasonable
- Weihong (2/5): noisey night - people around are not normal..keep away....
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Was not aware it was a backpacker type accomodation. Should have research it more - my bad
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great location across road from beach central position on esplanade close to shops restaurants and bars. This is the first and last time we will stay at this hotel we have visited Hervey Bay many times over the years have walked past this place many times, it was always a hive of activity with backpackers. Due to Covid 19 and no backpackers this buisness has changed from dorm style accomodation to a hotel. The only real thing that has changed is they have changed from bunk beds to double beds. We paid 75$ for a deluxe room which had a small fridge, bathroom and a double bed. The room had no insect screens no air conditioning no tea or coffee facilities. We had to drink from the bathroom tap as no glasses were provided.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Multi entrance that make us easier to access.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - What was advertised isn’t what you received. We booked a ocean view with separate private balcony advertised as best room. Daily room service was advertised and was not ever done, had a little bugs everywhere. Management offered a partial refund, still haven’t received. Wi-Fi available but not at the room we had on the top floor. Maintenance was being done with painting of the stair well and railings, no signage and rails weren’t able to be used, we required this. We we did like was the location of the stay in proximity to the beach across the rd
- Verified traveler (2/5): Old and unmaintained - The whole facility is just old and not maintained. It should go for a full renovation. Aside from that, the place is unclean. There were roaches in our room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and close to the beach, clean and friendly service, bed was average though
- Gloria (6/5): - Great position close to shops and beach restaurants and bars.
Staff were friendly and lovely and allowed us an early check in.
Very quiet.
Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable.
- Andie (8/5): - Staff were amazing love how private the rooms were, amazing location
- Erin (10/5): - Nice place to stay nice staff and in good location close to everything.
- Lindsay (2/5): Shocking stay 😡 - After I booked we had my granddaughter come so I ask if she could stay with us he said we need another room that I payed for then we find our room has 3 beds so she stayed with us
Also there was no shower in the room this hotel is a back packers the worse hotel I have stayed we moved out the next day and found another place this place should be advised it’s a backpackers I will tell everyone I know that Buzz hotel is rubbish
He told us we could not get on a whale watching boat but we found there was seats on a boat
This guy will do anything for money what a ripoff
I will check your site next time as you have bad places listed 😡😡😡
- sue (4/5): - Friday nite was Hell... couldnt get myself or my 14 yr old boy to sleep until after 3am..The drunks and party in common area directly under our room..
Was horrible nothing but loud, laughing, yelling ,slamming ,bad swearing, cant say i.would let my boy stay there again...I thought there would Been some consideration for there guests but seems the locals who live there , are running the place... the Saturday nite was alot quiter..We were up gone by 8am..sunday ..Floors were not swept...and bed needs replacing..for deluxe room..and price needs few delux things like a small TV ....
- SarahK (6/5): - Great location near the beach, friendly staff and just what we needed for one night stay. Great strong hot shower.
A bit noisy as our room was right on top of the pool table and common areas.
- Debra (8/5): - Basic level but that’s what we required this trip
- Steve (6/5): - Bed was ok
Was a bit noisy with people walking around during night
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No soap in either wall containers in horrible uni-sex toilets
Mattress disgusting, far too old to be used
- Deb (2/5): - I don’t feel that it is good place for kids to stay at. The smoke smell when you first walked in was disgusting this is the main reason we checked out early and only stayed one night out of the three we booked.
- neville (2/5): - The stay was absolutely terrible the mattress was safe thin no air con and the place will put full of drug addicts I was not impressed at all I would not recommend that place to anyone at all it was disgusting
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Commual areas were not cleaned regularly, including the kitchen.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place was so horrendously dirty and grim we left without even staying the night. The guy at the front desk was shocked we would dare complain about dirty sheets and pillow cases. Go figure
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great position, across the road a great eatery, and down to the beach, but accomodation is awful, you get what you pay for,
- B (2/5): - I can't say anything pleasant about my stay here, it was so noisy, the room I stayed in was the best they had, it felt unsafe and it was so run down and smelly, I could hear the guests next door to me doing EVERYTHING!!!! Possibly one of the worst stays I've paid for through expedia.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Management were excellent and helpful. Swimming pool and pool table were good features. No restaurant and no bar were inconvenient. Accommodation was basic but adequate, in-line with the price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Conveniennt location. Easy access into accommodation and amenities. Certainly not 5 star but not far from it. Room 106 was favourable for me and easy to keep clean and then tidy. Could do with a single chair for sitting on. Maybe a couple more power outlets.
Honesty of other guests left a lot to be desired.
Staff were good, polite , friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Buzers - Get what you pay for. Very basic but very cheap!
- Emm (8/5): - Buzzers have rooms to suit my budget at different times of the year that I visit.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Friendly and helpful staff.
The bed was very noisy when you moved on the bed.
The chair next to the bed was dusty.
- Catherine (8/5): Great hostel & excellent location!! - Thank you for a great stay. We arrived in the evening and wandered down the road, where there were many food options. The room had everything we needed & the bathrooms were big with enough cubicles. The next morning, so explored the local area and it was beautiful - right on the beach! Excellent location!!
- Romain (6/5): Good location but poor quality - That one is only for backpackers.
- Eric (8/5): Nice private room with balcony. - The private room with the balcony was very nice for the price. Spartan room but you get what you pay for. Nothing to complain about, pleasant stay with friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not possible to get sleep - Music and drunk singing till after 2am. Room hot. Made worse when I had to close the window because of excessive noise.
- Em (6/5): Was so noisy - The beds were so uncomfortable it felt like we were laying on the metal. And it was so noisy. We couldn’t shut the windows cause there was one fan and no air con. I got maybe 3hiurs sleep because of the noise.
- Judy (8/5): Perfect Location - The beach is across the road. Swimming pool was great, well maintained. Location was perfect for walking in each direction on the boardwalks or along the beach. We found Vietnamese, Thai, Loation, Pizza & Fish & Chips all within walking distance & all delicious. The staff are lovely, helpful & friendly. We ran out of time to visit Fraser Island but will return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable place to rest - I booked this hostel for just one night after 3 continuous days in the sea and on road. If did give me the rest I required and the place was calm and neat. I would recommend Buzers for a peaceful and comfortable stay!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): This is a Youth Hostel with NO AIR CONDITIONING - Had no idea that when we booked this room that it was basically a Youth Hostel with NO AIR CONDITIONING. Being in Queensland, in the hot muggy summer, in a room with no air con is not such a nice thing.
The choice to leave the windows open to get a tiny bit of cool air after midnight, leave you a prime target for the mosquitoes...
Will NOT be going back to that place as I am well beyond the Youth Hostel travel mode days of my life.
- M (8/5): Nice Rooms, very friendly staff - We spent 2 night in the Buzer's. Staff is super friendly, they gave us tips for food and drinks in the area.
We had a 4 beds room, very spacious. Recommended
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice and simple - Nice and simple, great location, good for short term stay. The bed is a little bit uncomfortable and I can hear people snoring who stayed next to us. But overall, it was good.
- Rebecca (8/5): Friendliest staff in Hervey - Stayed for 2 weeks . the staff were amazing .most affordable .would definitely stay there again
- Verified traveler (2/5): The worst hotel you'll stay at. - If you like drunk staff and loud country music, then this is the place for you. After putting up with drunken yahoos singing country music for far too long, I packed my bags and left. Who do you complain to when the owners are off their face drunk and the cause of the problem. Even getting out of the place meant dealing with a drunken idiot. I've stayed in quieter places in war zones, no joke. The kitchen makes a good burger though.
You have been warned.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel was near beach, staff of reception and ladies work there are all friendly, if some staff didn't play music loudly and singing at midnight it will be perfect, I feel like sleep in the night club not hotel, actually no one could sleep well that night.
- Katrina (10/5): Lovely location Handy to lots of the town. - This was a great location to stay. It is opposite the beach and handy to all shopping area. The staff are great and always available to assist. I had a rental car and there was parking as well as back and front entrance to this building.
- Adam (8/5): Great budget hotel - Great stay, good room size. We stayed in a family room. It is a shared bathroom scenario. Which is the same as camping but with much better facilities. We liked the big shared kitchen too. Coming back again for Easter.
