• Birch (2/5): Health hazard. - The receptionist was friendly when I checked in. Short walk to China Town. - Beds are tiny and they make so much noice with the smallest movement, which also shakes the entire bed. - There was a lot of black mold in the bathroom, practically dripping down the wall. - The dorm was very humid and for sure a health hazard with the mold in the bathroom, which is placed inside the dorm. Even the air coming from the A/C was smelling funky. - Staff was on their phone just outside the dorm playing a game or YouTube videos in the middle of the right.

• Love (5/5): 4 day, 3 nights stay 🙁 - It was quiet. The staffs in the morning around 6am are friendly. I like the privacy curtain and modernized access to the room. The staff around 2pm is not friendly. I was given a toiletries enough only for one night for my 4 day, 3 nights stay. I requested but it was ignored. The blanket is too short, not even enough for single size, it was knitted type with big spacings. The facilities listed in the booking.com that were NOT actually there are: Refrigerator, clothes rack, socket near the bed, flat screen tv, conditioner, cable channels, bathtub, desk, key access to locker.

• Niamh (8/5): Good place to stay in Quiapo - The beds had good privacy and the room was well laid out. Bedding and towels were provided and clean. Location is good for Quiapo area. Good wifi and electrical outlet beside bed. Washroom facilities were mediocre. No sink for washing; only an open tap at knee heigh which is not the best for washing. The phone-key-access system is more hassle than it is worth. Having to download an additional app whilst on the road is a nuisance and set-up was not simple. I tried contacting the property for help with setup but only received repetitions of the previous communications. Since there is a pin code to access anyway, it seems easier to just use this.

There’s no sink available in our room but there’s a faucet. Aircon is not that cold. Had to buy a clip fan so there’s extra ventilation. TV was not working but it’s okay since I need to focus for my board exam. No water heater in the shower.

Even the taxi driver informed me that I picked the wrong area. The hostel wasn't as most foreigners would think of as a hostel it was more geared for locals. No common room, no real area to interact with others it was very simple accommodation, roof over head and air-conditioner

• Verified traveler (8/5): Great if not doing late checkin - This hostel is exceptionally clean and modern looking for the Philippines. The wifi is secure, they have a clean/filtered water dispenser for a fee, and staff is polite. As advertised, the rooms are tiny but each have their own small flat screen TV, bathroom and aircon. People who have never used a third world bathroom should be aware that the small bathroom has no separation between shower and toilet and due to the space constraints, no sink, just a faucet and drain on the floor. This is not unusual, just different from Europe/America. There is no official luggage storage, but since our backpacks were small, we were able to leave them behind the front desk for a few hours after checkout. Our only complaint was they were not clear about how late checkin works. The hostel has a front desk but no common area or after hours staff, so if you show up late, you have to call a local number to get a staff member to let you in. The staff member is not in the hostel, but nearby, so you will have to wait in the alley for them to arrive. We did not have a working phone but were luckily able to pay a nearby stall shop keeper for a phone call. The area is quite safe with a 7-11 next door and the underpass mall nearby. Our taxi would not drive down the street to the hostel (due to lots of stalls/people/etc.), so we were dropped off on the main road across from Quiapo Church.

• Joanne G (4/5): Cheap & basic - Ended up not checking in. The property seemed to be undergoing repair/renovation. Rooms are very basic, bathrooms also. No running hot water. Stairs are steep & narrow. Outside, no visible signage indicating the hostel. It's ok if you are looking for cheap, nasic accomodation. Very helpful staff though. They were easy to talk to & readily agreed to reimburse what I paid for the room.
