• Sabina (8/5): - Whilst it is an outdated property, the island and the people and the staff at the restaurant Dr in particular, are very friendly and accommodating. The dining options are great and the restaurant people mate happy to offer requested options. Very safe and friendly community. Absolutely mind blowing nature and sea life at the door step. Highly recommend if you are not discouraged by outdated the villas.

Yes but… - We stayed at the Paradis D’Ouvéa hotel in February 2024…The island itself is an absolute paradise, a place straight out of a cliché book and an absolute postcard.. look in any direction at any time and you will get a visual overload of beauty… The hotel however is a different story… this place is one out of two hotels on the entire island and by far the better one out of the lot. It is considered luxurious however, it need a serious cash injection in order to get serious TLC and undergo some major renovations… here are some of the points that truly need some attention our room, smelled rather funky of humidity and a dire need of fresh air. There is no internet in the rooms. There is no bell desk so you bring your stuff to your room… not a big deal but it is a big property The boardwalk to access the rooms gets covered with berries from the trees above when it rains and therefore becomes incredibly slippery and treacherous (see photo) The food at the restaurant is unbelievably expensive and mediocre at best… I don’t mind paying the equivalent of USD 38 for a plate of pasta but mine was downright inedible. The hotel feels like it is dramatically understaffed and the service at the restaurant is distant and robotic. They do however make good cocktails and you need to try their infused rum (local vanilla and lemon) All in all, there were a whole bunch of problems there but we chose to overlook them for the location is so remote and the surroundings are astonishing

• Verified traveler (8/5): Wonderful stay but needs attention to their food - Great location and wonderful views of the beach from our bungalow. Some facilities need maintenance while the table tennis table requires repair and no working balls to play it with. The breakfast was limited and not great quality, food quality is not at par and slow service at their restaurants compared to other establishments in the island with superior and very delicious menu options. They did not bring our luggage to our bungalow upon arrival which was odd but picked it up at check-out.

• Timothy (8/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here. Amazing location with our room right on the beach. It was perfect and very private and relaxing. The whole hotel is amazing and beautiful. Some staff don't speak English which made it difficult at times - a few requests went unanswered. But overall, this hotel is excellent and highly recommended.

• Donatello (2/5): - Da una unto di vista naturalistico vi troverete in un posto meraviglioso. Purtroppo, la struttura è vecchia, sporca e il personale, scortese, parla solo Francese. Il WiFi non prende nelle camere, per utilizzarlo bisogna stare all'ingresso dell'hotel, dove ad attendervi ci sono divani vecchi e sporchi. Il ristorante ha poca scelta. Le foto presenti sui siti non corrispondono alla realtà.
• Nicolas (10/5): Le Paradis existe, j'en ai la preuve !!! - Le rêve, le paradis porte bien son nom. Alors certes, certains évoquent une soit-disant "nonchalance", c'est juste que tout se fait aussi vite mais sans brasser du vent. Le personnel est tout simplement attentif, présent sans l'être. Un grand merci pour l'attention dans notre bungalow lors de notre arrivée. Si vous vous arrêtez dans cet établissement magique, essayez le crabe de cocotier ; un régal absolu. A deux pas du pont mouli, du sable blanc, de l'eau... en fait, nous avons vécu dans un magazine de voyage. Un anniversaire de mariage qui devait passer par le Paradis ; un seul regret, il fallait repartir...

• CORINNE (8/5): Très bel hôtel mais attention aux prestations - J'ai adoré le cadre, la gentillesse du personnel toujours souriant, le super confort de la literie et la vue du bungalow sur le lagon MAGNIFIQUE, la super bonne connexion wifi. Je n'ai par contre pas aimé certains détails qui pêchent pour un standing haut de gamme (vu le prix du bungalow on s'attend à beaucoup mieux ) comme par exemple les taches en pagaille sur les canapés de l'accueil, les taches sur le canapé et la chaise dans le bungalow, le tuyau de la douche qui commence à être usé et qui se coince dans certaines positions du pommeau, pas de peignoirs dans la salle de bain alors que sur le site c'est indiqué qu'il y en a, le store à lattes de la salle de bain qui ne fonctionne pas (on peut pas le lever, ni l'orienter), rien pour poser son savon dans la douche, rabattant des WC jauni par le temps et l'usure, machine à café expresso qui ne fonctionne pas, spa sans notice de fonctionnement pour pouvoir l'utiliser quand on le souhaite et pas que en fin d'après-midi, et SURTOUT le temps d'attente aux repas qui était entre 40 mn et une heure après la prise de la commande avec des cuissons de viande qui n'étaient pas les bonnes (je voulais du bleu j'ai eu du bien cuit) !!!! Je sais combien c'était difficile avec un chef cuisinier en arrêt maladie et un pauvre chef pâtissier qui a dû prendre le relais seul face à 30/40 couverts mais pour le client qui vient ici pour du haut de gamme c'est un peu inadmissible.....Tout cela a été dit au personnel et écrit puis donné à l'accueil.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - L’hôtel bénéficie d’un très beau site le long de la plage de Mouli. C’est son unique atout. L’infrastructure est vieillissante et mal entretenue : piscine non nettoyée avec terre et feuilles dans l’eau, piliers de la terrasse extérieure rongés de rouille, tissus des fauteuils du hall déchirés, allées qui desservent les bungalows jonchés de feuilles non ramassées et qui pourrissent sur place, arbres non taillés avec palmes qui obstruent l’allée, le mobilier des chambres est désuet, meuble de salle de bain bancal et réparé avec un simple bout de bois, produits d’accueils dans une boîte cassée, matelas sur les chaises longues de la terrasse troués... On est très loin du rêve si ce n’est pour le prix qui est démesuré par rapport à ce qu’offre l’établissement.
• Pierre (8/5): Séjour de rêve ? - Le cadre de l' hôtel est magnifique. La nature est préservée dans cet endroit du monde. Un peu comme partout en Nouvelle-Calédonie, le rapport qualité prix est mauvais. La piscine n' est pas toujours fonctionnelle. Pour la restauration, les choix sont restreints sur le papier et se réduisent petit à petit. On vous propose par exemple un foie gras sans vous indiquer qu' il est poêlé. Les suppléments salades ou frites sont facturés 600 f chacun. Si un produit est en rupture de stock, il y n' y a aucune alternative. Bien sûr, il y a plus grave dans la vie, mais le manque de professionnalisme est criant. On ne s' improvise pas hôtelier ou restaurateur. Bien entendu, le séjour reste marquant, le personnel fait ce qu' il peut. Il n' y a pas de touristes internationaux pour le moment (cause pandémie). S' ils reviennent un jour, il serait dommage de ne pas continuer d' entreprendre dans ce cadre exceptionnel. Si vous avez l' intention de passer un séjour assez long, sachez que l' île à des contraintes importantes et que la restauration reste problématique.

• かっちゃん (8/5): - 立地は、抜群に良く大満足❣️ しかし、その分自然に、近すぎ、ハエ、蚊が、非常に多くて、アウトサイドでは、食事は、無理。それに、ネコ、犬が、いて客が、エサを与えるので、まとわりついて来る。犬なんかは、デッキまで上がり込んで、チェアーで、寝てる始末。泊まる側も、犬、猫が、嫌いな人だって、居るんだから、そのへん考えてほしい。 スタッフの人達は、親切で、対応も、良かったし現住民の人たちも、気さくにボンジュールと、声掛けてくれる。総合的には、良かった方に、なるかなー。
• Verified traveler (10/5): 最高でした - 2月末に1泊2日で滞在しました。 事前にメールでお願いして空港まで迎えにきてもらいました。空港からはとても遠いので送迎がないと大変だと思います。 チェックインもチェックアウトも融通をきかせてくださり、丸2日間楽しめました。 到着するとすぐにフルーツのウェルカムドリンクをもらえて、とても美味しかったです。英語に自信がなかったのですが、受付の方も優しく安心できました。 部屋は、デラックスバンガローラグーンビューでした。海が目の前に見えて最高でした。また、海に入ってからシャワーを浴びやすい部屋の構造になっていてよかったです。砂だらけになった足を洗う水道が外にあるので、そこで綺麗にしてからテラスにあがると部屋を砂だらけにしなくてすみます。広くて清潔感もありました。スコールが降るとテレビがつかなくなったり、ブレーカーが落ちたのか嵐のせいかわからないですがエアコンとドライヤーが付かなくなったのは少し困りました。 ミネラルウォーターや食料は私たちは事前にヌメアで2日分買っておきました。水は4.5Lくらいでギリギリでした。朝食は他の方の口コミであまり評判が良くなさそうだったので食べませんでしたが、後からレストランを覗いたら、意外と良さそうだったので食べてもよかったかな、と少し後悔しました。 ゴキブリがでたという話もありましたが、私達の滞在中は全然いませんでした。外ではハエもいましたが蝶がたくさん飛んでるほうが印象的でした。 盗難があったとの口コミがあったので、海に入ったりして貴重品から目を離すときは、必ずスーツケースの中に入れて、鍵をかけ、スーツケースは自転車のチェーンで部屋の家具に繋いでおきました。実際、夕方ごろにホテルのスタッフさんがバスローブを届けに来てくださるので、鍵をかけていても人の出入りはあると思って、万が一のためにも貴重品の管理は気をつけたほうがいいかもしれません。 ホテルのスタッフさんも、島のみなさんも優しかったです。自分から挨拶したり笑顔でいると、言葉がなかなか通じなくても楽しく交流できるなと思いました。散歩していると、住民の方が車でも歩いていてもすれ違うたびに挨拶してくださり、嬉しい気持ちになりました。 ウベア島は本当に素晴らしいところだったのでまた必ず行きたいと思います。その時はよろしくお願いします。

• Verified traveler (10/5): - 綺麗な海と砂浜の前でのんびりできてよかったです。 大人4人、子供3人のトータル7人という大勢での宿泊でしたが、ラグーンビューバンガローにみんなで泊まれて、広くて大変満足しました。 プレイヤード諸島の日帰りツアーでは、海に潜って捕まえた魚やエビを目の前で捌いてランチにしてくれたり、お手製のおかずをたくさん並べてくれて、みんなでワイワイお昼を食べたりがたのしかったです。 その日のフライトの時間を伝えていなかったので、のんびり過ごしていたら、ホテルへ戻る時間が遅れてしまい、いそいでボートで帰ったのですが、高速で波にバウンドして、アトラクションのようで楽しかったです（幸い乗り物に強い家族だった為） 時間を気にして色々心配してくれて現地の方々はとても優しく、おおらかでした。 また、ぜひ訪れたいです。

No information offer to visit the key spot of the island, very disappointing! Lock door broken for half day lost. Do not clean your room every day. Manager not available at the hotel, very poor leadership.

You go to this place only for its perfect and beautiful location.... just have the right expectations: it's not a 5* hotel, its prices can be misleading. Service is friendly but subpar, nobody will help you carry your luggage, any order at the bar will take forever, food is so-so.. My advice is just to go there for 1 or 2 nights, relax and enjoy the view. If you have a car, there are good eating options around, diving at the campsite nearby...

• YUSUKE (10/5): - 今までで一番綺麗な海を見ることができ、その海の目の前に宿泊できたので本当に素晴らしい休暇を過ごせました。ムリの橋には海岸側からも歩いていけるのですが、その海の色のグラデーションは本当に見事です。 ホテルは、日本人スタッフも居て安心です。エクスペディアで予約をすると日本語でメールをいただけるのでいろいろと教えてもらえます。とても素敵な人です。 懸念していた飲み水ですが、一応沸かして普通に飲めましたし、wifiは部屋でも良好でした。ベランダの寝椅子でゆっくりするのが最高でした。水彩絵の具を持って行って、元旦早々に絵を描きました。 レストランの朝食ビュッフェですが豪華ではありませんが私たちには十分でした。名物のヤシガニは、癖がなく美味しいです。 海に面したコテージは、海側を歩く人がほとんどいないのでプライベート感がありオススメです。

• Verified traveler (10/5): 素敵なスタッフでした - 母親とラグーンビューに2泊しました。 決して豪華でサービスが行き届いたホテルというわけではありません。 ですが、ウベア島にぴったりなのんびりとしたホテルで大変気持ちよく過ごすことができました。 とくにスタッフの皆さんはフレンドリーで、仏語も英語も全然ダメな私のリクエストに対しても笑顔で応えてくださり嬉しかったです。 送迎は無料ですし離島であることを含めると、宿泊費は安いくらいです。母も行き過ぎてないサービス、雰囲気を気に入ったようで連れて行った甲斐もありました！ ちなみに蚊は暑いところですし、草木があるため当然います。（日本程度） 日本から持って行った蚊除けスプレーが効果抜群でした。 部屋の方には元々蚊も少なく、置き型の蚊除けもあり、スイッチオンにして寝れば被害はありませんでした。 レストランに関しては、元々フランス料理が得意ではないため口に合いませんでしたが、リーズナブルでボリュームたっぷりです。 メインだけだと3000xpfくらいで頂けます。 最後に、ウベアの島に訪れる前は写真を何枚も見ましたが生は格別です。 絶対に行くべき場所です。

• Jean marc (10/5): Absolument Magnifique : Le rêve. - Quel hôtel : le rêve à l’état pur, un pur moment de détente et de rêve ! Le paradis d’Ouvéa porte bien son nom tout y était parfait en particulier la nourriture sans oublier les excursions mais le bouquet c’est la plage qui est absolument magnifique devant les bungalows : tout simplement à couper le souffle ! Vivement que j’y retourne !

• Stefan (8/5): A couple of days stay in Paradis - For relaxing I would say this is one of the perfect spots. If you however are looking some excitement maybe not since during my stay at the hotel the bar usually closed around 9-10 pm and at that time I where alone in the bar. I had hoped on doing some diving during my stay but that didn't happen due to to few others interested in it. However with all this said I would without a problem recommend the hotel if you are a couple who want some time alone with a great view of the sunset and I would recommend the island tour which I that was very nice even thou I do not speak French. I almost everyone forgot, the beach I would say is at least five kilometers long. I ran three km one way and we're not even close to the end of it.
• Geoff (4/5): Great Location - Poor Food - Had a great relaxing time. Beautiful views. Everything was quite expensive... but we didn't mind that because we were in a great location. The food was very poor. We even went on hunger strike on the last night cos we couldn't face another meal in the main facility.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Great location, pity about the hotel - Trading off the location, the rooms are shabby and need a good revamp if charging this price. Tatty couch, bed cover, and fly/mosquito screens missing from some windows, a couple of good cockroaches, really disappointing. Food in the evening was good due to having a good chef, and you pay for it, but the included breakfast was truly dire. All gave the appearance of a hotel struggling to make its way.
• Elle (4/5): No water and terrible outdated room - We had one of the worst experiences ever with a hotel. There was no running water from 4pm til the next morning so was unable to have a shower after swimming at the beach. The couch was also so torn you could not sit on it and had a white sheet covering it. Beds were uncomfortable with only a thin sheet over the mattress. Hotel staff and restaurant was the standout. Hotel needs a serious updating.
• Susan (4/5): Location is the Only Thing Going For It - Such a disappointment. A beautiful location with lovely accommodation but incompetent management. Here's my reasons why: 1. There was no way to recognise the driver from the hotel who picked us up at the Magenta airport. Luckily a lovely local pointed him out to me. 2. There is no porter service. On checking in, they give you a map and point out " Here's your room". 3. There is only powdered milk for tea and coffee available. We had to pay 1,000 francs to be driven to a shop to buy long life milk. Even on Samoa they have real milk! 4. The safe didn't work but was replaced in a timely fashion. The light above the bed did not worked but was not replaced at all. And of course the wonderful white bedsheet thrown over the disintegrating couch was there! 5. Unfortunately there was a (mild) cyclone while we were there and there was no water Sunday and Monday, and when we got back from two nights stay at an evacuation centre, the water was on and off again. 6. Organisation of the evacuation by the hotel was an example of what not to do as management. On one occasion when the Resort Manager was asked for sheets to sleep on at the evacuation centre, his reply was something to the effect of "..sure if you can drive to the resort and pick them up..." So much more to say but no more room....
• thomas l (8/5): Paradise almost reached, but not quite - My wife and I spent 5 nights here. Note that, based on previous reviews, I decided to book a deluxe bungalow on the lagoon for a bit more money – I’m happy I did. On balance, there are more positive than negative points about staying here, so I’ll start with the positive. First, the beach is gorgeous with clean white sand; CNN may be correct in listing it as the #1 beach in the world (I have seen many beaches), and it is right in front of the bungalows with the clear turquoise water located about 20 meters from the bungalow. The temperature is such that you can fundamentally stay in the water as long as you wish. But the water is also not too warm either, as it is sometimes elsewhere in the world. The maximum 25-cm high “surf” is such that it would be fine for young children. Furthermore, stepping out on the beach, it was often possible to look a couple km in each direction and see no one else on the beach. Watching the sun set across the beach was great. Second, the bungalow itself was quite spacious, and the deck with lounge chair was an added pleasure. The AC (in bedroom area) functioned well, which is good for sleeping comfortably. The deluxe bungalows are spaced well enough apart that privacy is ensured. The modest-sized pool is quite attractive. The lunch-and-snack restaurant by the pool, Café Le Jardin d’Eden, is very good. Breakfast provided by the hotel in the main dining room is good, but not great; for example, scrambled egg
• Verified traveler (10/5): Untouched slice of paradise - Rooms were spacious, clean and rather luxurious island living. Definitely worth learning some basic French as many of the locals/workers do not understand English however they do their best to assist with any matters. Resort is very private and relaxed. You can definitely spend the days doing nothing or filling your day up with lots of activities/exploring the island.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Paradise - Best beaches I've ever seen, rooms are a little dated but lovely. Needs some basic room maintenance or our room did like broken blind in bathroom and loose tap fittings, leaking water etc but other than that amazing.
