- Lisa (8/5): Our stay was adequate for our reason to be there but we can't say 100% that we will stay again. - The atmosphere was nice and the room was fine. The hotel itself is lovely. Very clean and attractive. I liked the Tiger lamp in our room very much, lol. I am particular so take my review with a grain of the proverbial salt. I expect a lot when I pay good money for lodging. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. Our room wasn't cleaned daily and when we asked for towels, the dirty ones were left and the clean ones were left on the sink in a pile instead of being put away. We weren't told that we needed to request daily service so we didn't ask. It was a disappointing surprise. Upon check in, the women checking us in weren't friendly. They weren't rude, they just weren't friendly. We had to call down to the front desk to request the wifi password. It should have been provided or at the very least mentioned that we could call for it. We had no second remote for the second tv. We were given 1 room key and never asked how many we needed. There were two of us. One is fine, we just expected 2. We were given 3 tickets for breakfast. Both of us ate only once for breakfast. We didn't have enough tickets for the second morning. Easy enough to ask for, I know, but 2 should have been provided for both mornings. There ya have it. I am particular. I just expect certain things when I travel and am expected to pay for services. As lovely a place as it is, it was not worth my money. :( It's back to The Renaissance for us next time. Wish it had been better for us.
- Benidia (5/5): The nightly rate even through third party booking is too much given the accommodations and atmosphere. - The location of hotel is a major benefit if your primary activities are on the campus. The Front Desk staff are not very helpful and clearly let you know that since you booked through a third party you don’t have the same guest status. The housekeeping staff removed all my hand towels and floor mat for the shower. I called Front Desk to get these items replaced. They were never delivered.

- vrooom (9/5): 5 star hotel 3 star prices - This is a 5 star hotel with 3 star prices !! Fantastic. Clean, quiet, comfortable, safe area/parking, wifi, great room & ,bathroom, accouterments, lovely location. Everything top notch. Nowhere to eat dinner either in the property or anywhere near it - had to resort to packaged corporate "pastries" from a Circle K !! Don't give them your true email as they'll dunn you with ads.

- SHANNON (1/5): Not good - The only thing i liked about this property is that it was 5-6min from the assembly where the graduation were held and not far from the restaurant “The Chimes” the breakfast was ok. It was set up as buffet style but was not buffet Room 328 shower was so bagged up it took over an hr for the water to drain out that we had to call someone in to pump it with a plunger. Had to leave the room door open to get air from the living room area because it was extremely stuffy and hott. Did not sleep well

- Laura (10/5): Some small rooms. Best to book the next class up - It’s always a pleasure to stay at The Cook Hotel. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, and the property itself is what any University would want as a representative hotel. A couple watch-outs: The lowest priced rooms are tiny and have a single tiny window in the back corner of the room - that’s it. If you like light, confirm the room layout before booking, I found that the next class up is generally just a few more dollars and worth the difference. The beds can be a little saggy- especially on the side that seems to be where most guests like to sleep. Other sides of the bed(s) are fine. The pillows are flat and the door to the mini fridge cabinet fell off its hinges when I opened it. But, all that said, it’s still my preferred hotel in Baton Rouge.

The hotel elevators and common areas were not maintained and had damages that looked neglected for years. The hotel definitely needs a renovation. Do not recommend!

- Fritz (4/5): Great location, terrible service - This hotel is well-located and offers a pretty average complimentary breakfast. We have stayed previously and returned because of the convenience to the LSU campus. On this stay, we traveled with a toddler and housekeeping proved to be a huge failure. On our second day they made the bed and gave us fresh towels but ignored all of the cleaning aspects so we returned after a 14 hour work day to find the garbage pail full (including soiled diapers). Dirty towels on the bathroom floor. No vacuuming. No cleaning sinks. The coffee maker malfunctioned so there was a tray and several cups that required attention. There was also no replenishing of water, shampoo or the courtesy coffee. We told the front desk and they assured us management would be in touch but that never happened and we were just too tired to seek them out before check out. We felt very insulted by this oversight. It felt intentional.
- Elena (10/5): - We had a great stay at the Cook Hotel during our freshman kiddo drop off to college. Hotel is part of LSU , located on university property which is super convenient. Our double room got upgraded to suite. Room was spotless clean and beds are very comfortable. The only issue was with AC not cooling very well due to heat advisory, so room was a bit too warm for my liking. Staff is very professional and friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

From the moment we arrived, the customer service and friendliness of the staff were top-tier, warm, attentive, and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal, offering delicious selections that exceeded our expectations. Our daughter graduated from LSU in May and we had to move her out of her apartment in July. The hotel's location, just two minutes away, made the entire process incredibly convenient and stress-free. We’re already looking forward to returning for a more leisurely visit.

- Hamid (6/5): Needs Improvement - The front desk lady at the checking, could not be any more indifferent; a robot would have had more personality. The extent of the conversation was give me your ID and your Credit Card. The room was so hot. We lowered the AC, and it was going up vs. down. We tried the front desk, but after 5 minutes waiting for a response, we gave up. We decided to go for dinner, hoping it will be better after a few hours. When we got back the room was as hot. This time we were able to connect to the front desk and the gentleman who looked at the AC told us that it was broken. So at 10:00 PM instead of going to bed after a long drive from Texas, we had to pack our stuff and go to another room 😢

- Chad (8/5): - Service was excellent. Loved the location! Close to everything on campus. Only problem we had was the AC. We were on the top floor and the AC was pushing to stay 73. Luckily we were not there during the day.

- Brittany (8/5): - Room was great. Very pleased with it. One of the female staff members behind the front desk was rude. She argued they had pool towels outside by the pool even though we kept telling her they were not there. She then said “well we don't have anymore then” and left it at that. No help in trying to find any or a solution. Then later that evening we called the front desk to get a bath towel and washcloth (we had 4 guests and only 3 towels and washclothes) and same individual answered and said “we don't have any towels or wash clothes. We have a lot of kids staying here and we are out.”

- Monica (10/5): - Such a pretty property on the LSU campus. It was easy to check in, staff was friendly and helpful, room was nice and clean. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

- Tobias (4/5): - The standard ("deluxe") rooms are very small, and the one I got was a near windowless cave, with just a tiny round sailboat window, about 6-10 in in diameter. Definitely sub-par product for what is expected in a US hotel.

- Sayge (6/5): - The convenience and proximity to campus. It was clean and quiet. The problem we had was when we entered the room the smell of cleaning chemicals was so strong. It was overwhelming. I’d never experienced anything like that. Made us nauseous. The room is too small and windows don’t open so the use of that much spray or whatever is inappropriate.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Everything was excellent except the shower was so slippery!! It needs to be rinsed better after the cleaning! The handicap bench was also very slick and my daughter slid off of it! But the staff was quick to address my concerns and ensure it was taken care of! Would stay again!
- Juan (10/5): - It was great! My only regret is not knowing about this hotel before my stay! For people who want to visit LSU, this is the ideal hotel despite not offering lunch or dinner. We used it for our daughter's graduation and it worked perfectly.
- Diane (8/5): - Hotel was rather expensive and included NO amenities. We had to pay extra for breakfast. Staff at front desk on our day of checkout need course in hospitality.
- Monica (8/5): - A very convenient stay if doing stuff at LSU. The front desk staff was very friendly and quickly check you in. The cleaning staff on the other hand was very loud in the hallway way before check out which definitely does not give you the opportunity to sleep in if you wanted too. Overall a great location and would stay again if I had to wake up early.
