- Clifford (7/5): A good place to stay in countryside around Rotorua. - Mable and Danny were consummate hosts and made the stay enjoyable . Unfortunately we stayed at beginning of autumn and whilst heating was available in the room the lounge and communal areas were cool in the evening. Whilst recognizing the property was styled to fit the properties historical origins it wasn’t really us. A beautiful spot but it is around 10 km from centre of Rotorua.

The Breakfast ( and the Coffee from Danny ) are worth 3 stars any Day. The only problem We had was that we had to leave ! I can really say if you are in the Region of Rotorua the only place to stay is Country Villa Estate.

Mabel’s morning breakfast is a delight with various fruits and jams all coming from the garden. The proximity to central Rotorua is also within a 15 minute drive. This location is highly recommended.

Mable is a cook making the most elegant and surprising breakfasts with edible flowers of Danny’s beautiful garden. The garden give view to the countryside, very relaxing. The hosts can inform you about things te do in Rotorua and give you interesting tips for visits to places in the neighborhood. You will enjoy your stay!
- John (8/5): Interesting stay in a country villa - Well this is a very interesting place - lots of different floral / cottage / country house styles from different times and places, some old and some new which makes this place really unique as it is decorated by items from the hosts' travels around the world I think. Very attentive, perhaps a little over-attentive for some, hosts. The breakfast was good at a shared table and the gardens are lovely. You will get lots of advice on what to do, and we took it and found it to be most useful. The bed was a bit bouncy. It's an old villa so sound insulation isn't great, but it is always like that with older places in NZ, but in return you get lots of character. A little bit out of town but we knew that and wanted that, but do check.

"The property near Auckland, New Zealand, is just breathtaking. It's got these vast meadows, blooming flowers, fruit trees, and a classic English style to it. It was a totally dreamy setting. Staying here means you get to enjoy European charm, rural peace, fresh air, and sunny skies. It's a must-visit, and we'll definitely be back next time we travel. The property was a paradise surrounded by beautiful mountains and the garden was filled with flowers.the hosts were a wonderful couple that made us so welcome and the breakfast was out of this world. Danny and Mable are the loveliest hosts who helped us with our planning activities and spoiled us rotten. The breakfast is absolutely amazing: Mabel makes beautiful creations with fruit and delicious dishes with local products, avocado and flowers from her own garden. - Chris (10/5): Rotorura? Don’t stay in town, instead drive a little and stay at the Country Villa Estates. - The breakfast was unbelievable! The hosts Danny and Mabel outdid anything I’ve experienced before. After visiting the city of Rotorua, we realized that staying a little out of town was a great choice. Rotorua was a meh city and driving is pretty much required to get to any of the interesting attractions. Better to stay at the Country Villa, in a lovely setting, with a clean comfortable room and charming hosts than to stay in an overpriced hotel smelling of sulfur. Nothing.

- sayitok (10/5): A lovely place. - What a lovely place to stay! Danny and Mabel, the owners, live on the property and are both highly trained hoteliers and they sweat the details. The breakfasts were lovely and tasty, the rooms immaculate, and the garden was gorgeous. It’s about a 15 minute drive to Rotorua, but no big deal as most attractions are not within walking distance. The town itself is kind of blah, so do yourself a favor and stay with Danny and Mabel at the Country Villa Estates. The high rating is well deserved.

- accidentalsunshine (10/5): Beautiful setting yet close to Rotorua - It's not often the beautiful view from your accommodation matches the charm & hospitality of your hosts. Country Villa Estate is definitely one of those properties. Hosts Maude & Danny are wonderful people, well travelled with a strong hospitality background, they are truly welcoming of all guests to their beautiful home. Maude is an amazing chef & artist who, with the help of barista Danny, creates a delicious, beautifully presented breakfast each morning. We stayed 3 nights in the upstairs family suite so were fortunate to have our own tea room looking out at the well maintained garden. It was very clean & comfortable, with tea & coffee & bathroom amenities provided. There are plenty of resting places outside on the veranda or in the gardens or you can utilise the indoor lounge. If you are very lucky you may find yourself enjoying a conversation with Danny or Maude, two of the nicest people you could hope to meet.

The property is extremely convenient to Rotorua, but you don’t have to deal with the traffic and the crowds. The grounds are lovely and very restful after a long drive or day o sightseeing.

- 368summerm (10/5): A true treasure, both hosts and property! - You couldn't find more graceful hosts than Danny and Mable. As a solo female traveler who experienced some mishap on my visit to Rotorua, both of them were a great support system and went beyond even the extra mile. I can't thank them enough. Their B&B is situated in the hills above town, in a quiet pastoral area, with a magnificent garden full of flowers and different private areas to relax. The house is historic and Mable and Danny display many of the treasures they picked up during their world travels. The 4 themed bedrooms have super comfortable beds and are set up to make your own coffee/tea. The hallway has a fridge for the guests and little chocolate treats are to be found everywhere. There is also a guest living room to enjoy (and watch TV). And even more than that ... breakfast is on a whole other level. While the round kitchen table holds all manner of muesli, granola, jams, juices, and yogurts, and while there is also the choice of a warm breakfast ... the extra surprise each morning is Mable's fruit creation. Words cannot describe those! Danny is an excellent barista and a fountain of knowledge about the area and many other places both in NZ and the world. I cannot recommend Country Villa Estate and its hosts highly enough!

Whilst there, they provided a delicious and very filling breakfast. It’s a gorgeous villa with stunning views and a serene environment. It’s also a very short distance from the town and some of the hot springs that Rotorua has to offer.

- Allison (10/5): Heavenly slice of NZ - This B&B was like spending the night in the garden of Eden. It is run by two lovely professionally trained hospitality managers with experience at some of the worlds top hotel and resort companies Four Seasons, Intercontinental—you get the idea. Their historic home is nestled in a large garden filled with flowers, ornamentals and fruit trees. The room accommodation is charming and spotless but the best part was the gourmet breakfast and all the home Olaf’s goodies that Mabel and Danny offer. We had a gorgeous bowl of fresh fruit and homemade yogurt. Lots of cereal choices and toast with fancy homemade jams. But the fresh eggs, and avocado ham and cheese croissant was just over the top. Finish this feast with fresh coffee and fresh squeezed juice selection— awesome! It is located just outside Rotorua and the stars of the Milky Way shine bright. We can not recommend this property more enthusiastically. Thanks for a great and memorable stay.

Our hosts also presented us with beautifully prepared breakfasts which were excellent and they accommodated all our dietary restrictions. We were in the upstairs suite and the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.
- srimoyee (10/5): Secluded quiet stay - We loved our stay at Country Villa Estate. The location is 10 mins drive from Rotorua main town, with no smell of sulphur. Mable made delicious breakfast for us every morning and Danny helped us with lot of recommendations to do around Rotorua and also booked our Maori evening experience which was wonderful.

One of the best B&B I've ever stayed in. If you are into relax getaway countryside villa stay, this is the place for you. On a side note, we've been told one may order a helicopter tour to White Island directly from the backyard. Would love to do that if time allow.

- Karl (10/5): - Beautiful setting in the countryside. Lots of flowers in the gardens. Very good breakfast. The hosts were very informative and helpful. Extremely friendly service.
- Po Kei Maggie (10/5): A wonderful stay - We are a family with a 6 years old girl. We had a wonderful stay at Country Villa. The house is beautiful, the garden is huge and my girl enjoyed so much seeing different trees and flowers. The design of our room is very nice and the bedding is comfortable. Mable and Danny are super friendly and we enjoyed so much chatting with them. The breakfast were the best we have ever had in New Zealand. The eating flowers surprised me and I felt like eating breakfast at a five stars hotel. Also, it's the cleanest place to stay in New Zealand, also around the world. I highly recommend Country Villa to everyone and we would love to return in the very near future. Thank you again Mable and Danny >.<
- Debbie (6/5): Average stay, overpriced - The hosts were lovely, the grounds and venue are pretty but the room was tired. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable, no tv in the room, no shampoo or conditioner only a men’s 2 in 1. I felt this was overpriced for a room in a house. I was also charged the double rate instead of the single and no refund was offered.
