The hostel is well organized, spotless clean, without mosquitoes or bedbugs. Very good free breakfast at the dining room and it’s possible to cook or store your own food at smaller kitchens that are on 2nd. & 4th floor. The staff are very kind and go out of their way to help you.
H8557HIandreww (10/5): Completely Refurbished including multiple features, amenities and freebies, at one of the lowest rates in London... - First thing to mention here is that you can disregard any reviews of this hostel written before NX was taken over by its new management team. They have transformed NX into an amenity rich, scrupulously maintained hostel that now offers a feature set competitive with many Central London Hotels, at a fraction of the price. Key amenities at NX include free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, free beverages and snacks, free linen and towels, a bar, laundry facilities, and 24-hour reception. It’s safe to say that Guests here are pampered. Each floor has own self contained kitchen/ work area and not one, but 3 bathrooms per floor(!). This means that you can pee, work and/or make a meal 24/7, without having to wait hours competing with multiple guests,, all trying to do the same thing. With these, and other like minded innovations, NX appears to be evolving a unique niche for itself as a fusion of key amenities of both hostel and hotels. These cool upgrades are not reflected in NX’s price point, which remains one of the most affordable and lowest in London, good news also for you. The Fun Factor (Hostel and Area Culture) NX has been redesigned to be a social hub. There are several options to get to know your fellow travellers and make new friends whilst here. The main kitchen room I mentioned has been redesigned to double as a lounge and is the most popular hang out spot. Here NX’s guests can enjoy a one stop of socializing, preparing main meals, or watching movies on a big screen TV, while helping yourself to free coffee, tea and snacks. All three kitchens are kept shiny clean and fully stocked daily. If British beer and music are your thing, NX has an adjoining pub right next door featuring a live stage, dance floor and as I also mentioned performances from emerging London Rock groups. All in, NX Hostel distinguishes itself from the pack for forward thinking in development of new features and amenities, friendly and helpful staff 24/7, free add ons, lots of hang out/ work spaces and bargain rates for a prime Central London location.

Slept through the night.the toilet and the bathroom are like ones you have at home, so lots nicer then the swimming pool style, all clean daily. Has kitchen if you want to save money. Close to 2x train station. Bedding clean. I would stay there again.

Pictures on their website are absolutely no updated. Illegal terms and conditions, they can cancel et don't refund you. They blacklist your number but keep your CB print to take money if you leave a bad review.

alibC3577WV (2/5): Terrible! - First of all I how to say that when i booked my stay at this place and my flight got canceled and they refunded me around quarter of the amount as a vouture which I really appreciate! But the staff were very rude, unfriendly and not welcoming at all! During the last 2 days I suffered form the fact that the password to the room was not working, and I came back the last night tired, I just couldn't get in the room till around 1 hour later till the maintenance came, I was tired I wanted to rest!! Also, there's no cans opener! If you have cans, you wouldn't be able to open them. Additionally, the eggs machine takes long long time to operate! Consequently, I was marked on the application as "No show up"! Plus under the hostel there's a music venue, so basically every night there's music and you can't sleep at night! Moreover, one night I came back to the hostel while my bag was a bit wet, they didn't even allow me to put it on the radiator to dry! This is ridiculously. Every time we enter that place I was very upset and frustrated!!! The rooms smell terrible. NEVER BOOK here!! NOT RECOMMEND, WORST hostel I've been to. WORST WORST EVER!

Staff was pleasant and helpful, there is a free breakfast, a £7 laundry, fast WiFi, hot shower, and the checkout at is at 11 am (later than most hostels.) There was loud music till around 11 pm, triple bunks which I prefer double, and limited room in the common areas. The pros far outweighed the cons here. It's not fancy or luxurious but gets the job done. For under £20 on a Saturday it was an incredible value. I may find myself returning again when I need a cheap stay in London.

artema367 (2/5): BEDBUGS!!! - Hello, Recently, I was at NX London Hostel which I booked via the Hostelworld website from Sep 20th to 26th. On my second day there, I found two bedbugs on my bed in the morning! (see attached photos). I asked the hostel's staff to change my room or at least provide me with a locker to store my stuff in order to avoid bedbugs in them, but they suggested me to sign a document for it (see an attached picture). I refused because, in the text of this document, they basically blame a customer for bringing bedbugs to their hostel, and if the customer after signing this document decides to leave a review about bedbugs they want to fine the customer for £100! Interestingly, after reporting about bedbugs they simply cancelled my booking. Although I was allowed to stay in the hostel and there wasn't any problem with that, but I realised it later why they did this trick. They did it specifically to not allow me to leave a review on them on Hostelworld's website, as the website allows to leave a review if only a booking was completed. If you look at other reviews on them on TripAdvisor https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186338-d1061559-Reviews-NX_London_Hostel-London_England.html you will see that the issue with bedbugs is actually a pattern. I even don't say that conditions of the room and the hostel itself were poor and a manager of the hostel known as a "man with a beard" (look at Hostelworld and TripAdvisor reviews) and female receptionist were really rude. It is another long conversation ...

Eden (10/5): Best hostel i've been to! - This is easily the best hostel i've been to! It's actually better than mutliple hotels i've been to! The floors, the beds, everything is clean and it smells good. As a female traveler, it also helped alit to have a bar and parties in the hostel! It was easier for me to socialize without having to be out late at night! I literally have nothing bad to say! Kudos to the owners and maintenance crew!

inezp97 (2/5): WORST hostel experience of my life - I've stayed in many budget hostels in my life and never had an experience like this. I could excuse the building being next to a bar and having to listen to loud music till 1 a.m., because that's something you can't really control, but I can't excuse lack of badic hygiene. The common rooms were absolutely filthy, there wasn't a single utility in any of the kitchens that we could use to heat up our food because they all had layers of grease and dirt. We had to throw all our food out and order in. Our bedroom was just as bad. There were hairs on the floor, on the sheets, piles of dust on the bunk beds and floor and literal medical waste as shown in the pictures. We had to pick up sanitizing spray from the nearest supermarket and clean the room ourselves as we saw how defensive the administration got with negative reviews and didn't want to risk not having an accomodation at all. We also saw this place originally at hostelworld.com and the pictures did not resemble the actual hostel at all. There were really dark paintings on the walls (our room had a weird grey door painted in front of our bunk bed?) and ceilings, which just made it seem heavier and less clean and comfortable. My advice: if you're looking for cheap accomodation in London skip this place. You'll end up having to spend more money eating out, you won't be comfortable and it's honestly not worth it.

Ben (2/5): London marathon stay - I've stayed in several hostels previously and this is by far the worse. One of which was a converted jail cell and it was considerably better than the facilities provided. We stayed here (private room for 6) based on the location to the London Marathon start. The room provided was directly over the pub on the floor below which had live rock music playing until ~ 11 o'clock followed by music playing until at least 01:00 (loud enough to have actually been in the pub). The music was shaking the the beds throughout the night. The bunk beds were really unstable which meant any small movement resulted in large movements for the people trying to sleep on the other levels. The beds were uncomfortable and the bedding, towel and toilet facilities provided were unclean. Due to the street noise we needed to keep the window open which left the room too hot to be comfortable. As a bonus the green bulb in the light left the room lit up throughout the night. We complained but no other rooms were available. If we could have afforded alternative accomaditon on the the marathon weekend we would have left in the first hour. The breakfast offering was relatively below average heavily relayed on having hygienic fellow hostel guests. Seems like this accomaditon has had some fake reviews as our experience was very different to the positive reviews...
Btn1jan2 (2/5): Very loud music - Initially we were not greeted with the warmest of welcomes in the cramped entrance. We had opted for this location as running the London marathon. We entered our room which was shaking with the loud heavy rock music. We did ask to be moved but couldn't accommodate as hostel full. If you wear noise cancelling headphones you might get a good night's sleep. That is if you are not sensitive to the glowing green light that remained on throughout the night. Street noise very loud even with window closed. The toilets were not clean but they did have toilet roll. The room was not overly clean with dried snot on wall and a dry piece of chewing gum on bed frame. Two mattresses felt like they were filled with bags of nails but the others were comfortable. It was warm and dry and we did manage to sleep. So if you visit on the understanding that the accomodation is very basic then it won't disappoint. On a plus side, you can help yourself to cereal, bread, ham and fruit. I am not sure we would visit again.
rurouni_xtine (2/5): Sleepless night at NX Hostel - It was a horrible night for me when I stayed in this hostel on a Saturday night because I could not sleep at all with all the noise from the club next door. The music was so loud the room was vibrating. How is it that they are allowed to operate a hostel at this location with the noise level that’s out of this world?! I would not recommend this hostel if you need a decent sleep at night.

186tyrellw (10/5): Convenient and down to earth - Best Hostel in the South East, hands down, I see a lot of negative feedback here, but honestly, I think it just unfair or straight out fraudulent, not only is this place none of the things these guys say it is, but it's well located, extremely convenient and unique in that it offers free food all day. Staff is simply awesome, they are caring, friendly and speak a multitude of languages, not sure why some of my fellow guests would say that they don't speak English (which sounds awfully racist by the way) when, in fact, it is their mother tongue in most cases.
Pragathees (2/5): - A 5 minute bath took 2hr, irregular water supply. Too less bathrooms for too many people. I'd never come back.
Adams (8/5): - I don't have much to say, just every toilet needs to at least two toilet roll, because I find it difficult before I get toilet roll to used.
leemQ8055AT (10/5): Forget the last reviews - We have stayed here a few times now and yes some of the reviews can be right but a new manager has taken over and the place ticks all the boxes, we come for the psychobilly freakout at the New Cross so it’s a perfect location to stay. Well done to the new manager and his staff, he has certainly turned the place around, value for money, clean, and comfortable, what more do you want. We will definitely be booking again for next year. Thankyou.

Deborah (2/5): - I'd paid for a female room, they put me in with a bunch of men. They did move me when I asked but then I had to move out the next night to another room. The bathroom door didn't close properly let alone lock. It was above a bar that played loud music well into the night and people were starting loud brawls into the early hours. Sirens constantly and they were doing some demo in the hostel at 9pm while I was trying to sleep. They said they provided towels on the website but didnt and the showers had a LOT of mould and some had very little pressure. The breakfast choices weren't bad though I will give them that - there were eggs, bread, pastries, fruit, cereal etc. for you to make yourself what you wanted. All in all a place to lay your head if you're really trying to go cheap but there are a lot better options out there.
mmJ7697XN (2/5): The worst hotel - At first, there is no lobby in this hotel. And when I enter the entrance before 1pm, suddenly the guy of receptionist said, “Get out ! No check in time! Get out !”. He never listened to the customer and just shouted like a mafia. And it had too complex procedure by internet before check in, which wasn’t normally necessary, and the twin room was like the prison. We couldn’t open the windows and too stinky. I asked the shouting guy to open it. He just said “If you don’t go outside, I open.” I talked with him to know his background and he said that he is from Italy and Romania (this information is to specialize him) Many people write about this hotel, and the worst review are truth and I asked the travel company to delete the information because this hotel’s introduction is the fraud and fake. At the last, I attache the picture when I open the window. There was the fixed board written “close”.This is the truth.
S3898PUkathrynm (2/5): Highly overrated on Hostelworld - The beds were nice, the rooms were pretty clean and the hostel was close to Greenwich so I'll give it that. However, first of all, check-in isn't until 4pm which is later than any hostel I've ever stayed at, and there's not even really any place inside to wait until then so you can't go inside until after that time (unless you want to pay extra to go earlier). Second, you have to pay 10 extra pounds, in cash, for a key and at least one of the staff members was pretty rude. I accidentally forgot my key to my room one day and then randomly a staff member shows up and yelled at me for waiting in the hallway for someone to come because no one at reception answered the door when I knocked to ask about a spare key. Third of all, the area is kind of sketchy. Even though you can find homeless people scattered around the London metro area I was probably approached the most by homeless people either just outside of this hostel or on one of the nearby streets. You also can't get refunded once you book and, for some reason, hostelworld said my recent trip there was cancelled (which is why I couldn't put this review on hostelworld). Therefore, unless you're with a group of people and don't mind the most awful place to stay and/or you'd like to be within a 30-minute walk to Greenwich, I would highly highly highly NOT recommend this place (especially as a solo traveller)!

359arial (4/5): Rude - Amazingly rude front desk - twice over have felt the need to bang bang on about rules and basically make you feel like you are in the wrong Kind of a strange welcome both times Not sure what they are expecting of their well meaning guests but it does come across as pretty rude when all you want is a decent night’s sleep If a sweet welcome is what you’re after then go elsewhere
ligag2020 (2/5): Disgusting place - Experiance on this hotel is awful. It is very dirty hotel with Bad breakfast!!!!!! I have never experienced anything so terrible, that the floor is not cleaned, there is women's hair in the beds, the windows are never clean, the lamp is about to fall from the ceiling. The communal shower and toilet are not only dangerous, but even the door cannot be opened normally. Look for breakfast yourself witch is very poor and wash the table if you want somewhere to sit. Disgusting place!!!!
Carlotta (2/5): - The photos posted on internet have nothing to do with the reality. First of all, they made us wait for 45 minutes for the check in. In addition the conditions of the bedroom, the bathroom and the common areas were dreadful. I do not recommend this hostel at all
Patricia (2/5): - We just stay few hours… no conditions at all.. really small room for 5 persons, a broken window with a empty box to kept it open… dirty toilets, dirty shower bases, wet towels all over from other guests… we were supposed to stay 2 nights, the staff said there was no chance of giving me any money back… very rude …

Taylor (4/5): False advertising - I chose this hostel because of the availability and the price. You definitely get what you pay for. The place was disgusting and smelled awful. The beds had mold on them and there were bugs throughout the property. There was one outlet in the room for four people. There was one shower and it was clean for the most part. I would not stay here again. On top of all of that, it’s located above a bar/nightclub that plays loud angry music and it’s very difficult to focus on anything or get to sleep. Disappointing.

The place is run down, not in a good area, and there was a terrible smell inside the rooms and building. I even found a rat at the kitchen. I am used to being in hostels while traveling but this was the worst one. Please save yourself your sanity and money and book somewhere else.

Tiina (8/5): Great service, saved me with a last minute booking - For the price this is a very good hostel! I came in with a last minute booking around midnight because my other hotel was closed due to covid-19. The amazing staff were very welcoming even tho I came in that late. The hostel is old so you can see that its worn out and walls are dirty but beds are comfortable and clean. There is free breakfast, toast, eggs, cereal etc.
Dave (8/5): satisfactory visit - Had room 3 this time so better than room 4 on previous visit. room was clean. pillows are rubbish too thin and only one. Had my own ear plugs so got some sleep. breakfast in the morning and coffee hit the spot. generally a fair to good visit.
