- joseph (8/5): - The hotel is nice, location is good. The free breakfast wasn't very good.
- Teo (8/5): Na - The breakfast to simple hope can improve to western n more variety thanks
- Leong Chee (10/5): - Good location cleanliness and lots or restaurant around. Definitely will be back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location and friendly service, breakfast is average.
- Ross (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay here, didn’t have to go too far for meals & drinks, organised our tours downstairs, good spacious room, only downside was the music from outside went all night until early the next morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Séjour 3 nuits Ho Chi Minh Ville - Hôtel correct, bien situé, confort un peu limite mais personnel serviable
- Neil (8/5): Good value with a convenient location - Tourist part of downtown near BinhTahn market and across from a park. Clean place with nice staff and a comfortable room.
The morning seventh floor view free breakfast at 6:30 am makes it a value.
I will return.
- jeffkgy (8/5): Good stay for a short rest and shower - Had 5 hours to kill before taking the sleeper bus to Da Lat. Paid a good price for a good shower and a short rest. The bellboy was very eager to serve and introduced me to my room. I forgot to bring my universal plug and he was kind to lend me one. Checked-out at 1 am and the owner lady was very nice and had a short chat with me.
Thanks for your hospitality!
- Scenic757867 (8/5): Good hotel - They have breakfast on the 6 or 7 floor where you can sit down, enjoy a cup of coffee and watching the city from the top. The food is just ok, small baguette with a tea spoon of butter and jam with a cup of coffee or tea.
The room is nice enough. You got what you paid for, it located in the centre of backpacker area, so it is always chaotic and noisy but it nears everywhere you want to like bus station and restaurants.
Overall, its good to stay for couple nights.
- incusc2018 (10/5): Very nice owner, wonderful view from the 7 th floor - I performed online booking family room for 4 persons, 1 January 2018 and my credit card was deducted 5% of the full value for deposit.
I leaved Đà Lạt by bus and arrived Hồ Chí Minh near midnight, 1 January 2018. On arrival, the middle age women (I think owner of the hotel) waited for me at the reception, smile, immediately after I showed passport and confirmation booking sheet, she said “I am waiting for you”. Oh It is very kind of you, thank you very much.
The family room for 4 persons is very big, has 4 bed as in the hotel picture. Two of my group leaved the hotel early in the morning, 2 January 2018. The owner prepared breakfast for them. The hotel is in the great location in district 1 and wonderful view from the 7 th floor, the place for breakfast.
I leave Hồ Chí Minh and went to Phnom Penh afternoon, 2 January 2018.
Thank you KIM KHÔI SG HOTEL.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - Over booking, in spite of the place is good. But environment is too noisy to sleep. We don’t recommend this
- Verified traveler (6/5): Unwelcoming staff, good location - Extremely rude staff. We had paid and booked for 2 beds. We're 2 tall guys. We get there and the lady says they gave it to someone else and that there's only a room with a double bed in it. If we wanted 2 beds we had to pay extra. It's not until we raised our voice that she gave us the original room we booked. All staff was rude . We could'nt trust to leave our bags with them, they say they have bag storage but they actually just leave it in the lobby which is wide open 24h day. Only convenient thing was the location
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Terry (8/5): Basic hotel. - The hotel is on a very busy street. The taxi dropped me off a few blocks from the hotel as traffic was jammed. Hotel is not easy to spot, and several steps up to the lobby. Not easy for a senior citizen with two heavy bags. Room was clean and basic. WiFi ok. Hotel lost electrical power a couple of times but I understand that is commom in Ho Chi Minh City. Breakfast was very simple and modest. Great location for walking to tourist places, or grabbing motor transportation. Good AC.
- cedric (2/5): Run away, A éviter !!!
- belkylopezrendon (8/5): Very Honest People in this hotel and good location - We stay in this hotel in district 1... it is cheap, simple and comfortable, you can sleep well and without the noice of the main street at two blocks at the back (Bui Vien) where there are many pubs and restaurants. The staff of the hotel is friendly and nice, specially the young recepcionist, a super nice girl and very helpful. They have wifi in every floor and also a couple of computers in the reception where you can print if you need it. We left our luggage in the storage room because we traveled to other cities and nothing was lost!!!! They were super honest. Also have free breakfast and air condition in the rooms.
In front of the street of the hotel there is a place of many stores where you can buy many casual things, clothes, shoes, jewelry, bags even there is a small food court inside... Over the same street there is a bakery that is delicious, good bread!!! Also you have near of the hotel the Ben Thanh market, a local market of many things and you can go there walking or taking a tuk tuk.... it is near.... I almost forgot, If you love the soups, there is a corner passing the bakery where they prepare soups (Pho) that are well prepared, super good and super cheap for the size of the cup!!!... if you go out of the hotel is at the left hand and walking straight....
- henrik (8/5): mukava palvelu siistissä perhehotellissa - hotelli keskeisellä paikalla, mukavat kävelyt, puistot, veneretki vain satama alueella, hyvä aamiainen, huoneet eri tasoisia = alakerrassa pieni ja onneton ikkunaton, yläkerrassa mahtava näköala ( ole tarkkana ja vaadi kunnon huone ! ) ja lisäksi kaikilla kolmella erilaiset huoneet = sama hinta....
- 684alyssad (2/5): Not a good one - It's one if the worst hotel I've been to. I don't like writing bad reviews but sometimes you have to. You can find much better for much cheaper in the area..so location should not be the only thing to consider. We did stay somwhere else before for the same price and it was beyond better than this.(it was booked out)
Sure it's clean and staff is not rude, but they did call us in the morning, it woke us up, to remind us to go for breakfast, which we hadn't forgotten. Brekkie, ordinary, on the 7th floor, same room as laundry room....
Beds.....worst ever...REALLY hard, like beyond anything. Pillows? As hard if not worst.
Paper thin walls, we can here everything in the bathroom next door. We had the middle rooms....don't know if the ones with window are better....but we could here the road....so must be worst with a window on the street.
- jscer90 (10/5): Good location and friendly staff - Stay in this hotel for 4 days 3 night with a great price. Friendly staff and helpful. Good location which near to bui vien street and just around 10-15 min walk to Benh Tham market. Around 10 min walk to casino and lots of choices around the hotel.
- AmyE973 (8/5): Good Hotel - Me and my partner stayed in this hotel in December 2015. Rooms were comfortable, clean and cheap and the staff were great.
The hotel was in a good location and really close to all of the restaurants, shops and bars.
- maskedintruder (8/5): Good location and friendly staff - I stayed in Kim Khoi for one night , it's situated in good central location close to busy streets , gift shops , restaurants , atm and taxi rank opposite . Everything within a stones throw .
The room it's self I found quite good comfortable bed ,good air con ,bathroom and flat screen TVs .
Wifi was ok but if too slow they have desktops in reception area .
The staff were very efficient and spoke good English .
At about mid night they close the shutters down on hotel which I thought was good for security rang bell and shutters were opened straight away , but could easily miss doorway after dark !
Only downside was in my room had only a small window looking onto a wall .
And wasnt overly fussed on the used flip flop in room gave them a miss .
But I would stay again for sure and recommend to friends .
- Anthpalmer (8/5): Great staff & good position, - Close to bustling Bui Vien street and the bus terminals but a short walk to the park & city centre. All rooms have firm comfortable mattresses, air con & fridges but the front rooms have views over the nearby park. The staff are friendly & helpful but English is limited. The breakfast on the top floor simple but really lovely.
- 796savr (8/5): Excellent stay, great staff and reasonable - We stayed here for 5 days, room number 205, 1 double and 1 single bed overlooking the city and thoroughly enjoyed it. Clean rooms, maintained daily, good air cons, large tinted windows, good wifi connection and close [within 5 mins by walk] to lots of food outlets, shopping, nights markets, park, etc. Staff were very helpful and made our stay comfortable. Free breakfast provided with limited choices but enough. Tour operators in the same complex and reasonable prices when converted to AUD.
Some travelers may not like this hotel as you can hear road traffic noise in the rooms facing the street but i did not mind it at all.
- obbm (2/5): Don't choose here! No responsibility at all - I had booked and paid via agoda 1 week before visit.
When i went there to check-in, she said "No room available today, you must call back to agoda yourself and they may refund you"
- AfricaFiChau (8/5): nice free tasty breakfast - Front desk girl has good English. Owner is polite and smily. Room is clean. Bottle water priced competitively. Nice views on top floor - cozy restaurant. Helpful bell boy.
Local bus station is one block to the left. Taxi across the street. Rooms at the back is quieter than the front.
- AlexWorldTour (8/5): Great Find for 5am - I was hoping to not need more sleep from my overnight bus. But I did and I found this place, actually a worker of their's found me outside their hotel walking around for a place. The price seemed fair and I was tired. So we negotiated the price down a little because we were leaving 2pm the same day to catch a flight.
Owner/Staff- Friendly and helpful and honest
Price- Good price especially for the area
Bed- very comfortable with separate blankets for the double which I didn't like.
Wifi- Good
Noise- No street noises. Around 11am you could hear people talking around the hotel, but i was only still sleeping that late because of the overnight bus exhaustion.
Bathroom- Clean, warm shower with towels and toiletries.
Hot Water- Yes
Common Area- Fairly non-existent. not a place to hang out in.
Location- Perfect location. Just a few blocks from the major tourist area but the quietness of not being there.
I would definitely stay there again.
- 675kimberlyt (10/5): Great people- Good Rooms & Service - I've stayed here multiple times, it's like a home away from home. I'm nearing the end of my one month stay in Vietnam, and the workers are great. They are so kind, and they have told me that they are actually people that have left homes in the country and moved to Ho Chi Minh City to find jobs. The hotel is placed right in the heart of Pham Ngu Lao street, one of the busiest streets near the bustling Ben Thanh Market and many other points of interest. Breakfast is normal/okay, (you can't ask for much for the price). Highly rec.
- Pearler47 (6/5): WiFi is useless in O.K. Hotel - I has a deluxe room which was at the front. Street noise is a problem there. Room is O.K. and bathroom works O.K. Breakfast is good enough. I was a bit surprised when I returned at 1.15 AM to find the metal shutters down. Staff member was there to let me in. Staff are good, as seems to be universal in VN. Located in a good area for food and drinks. Not too far to the old city and the museums there.
- linhmar (8/5): Excellent value for money - Kim Khoi (formerly 211 Hotel) is centrally located just metres from the world-renowned, extremely "happening" Hem 175 laneway where expats and tourists congregate. Excellent, friendly staff - and the equally friendly owner and his wife can usually be found "keeping an eye on things" near the reception area. Nice big rooms (middle rooms smaller), with all amenities including hot water with strong flow - unusual in many nearby hostels, guesthouses and even hotels. Room prices currently $25, $20 or $17. Only possible drawback for older or infirm people is stair access from the street (but good lift inside). Close to not only the backpacker area (Pham Ngu Lao, De Tham, Bui Vien streets) but just a walk through 23/9 park to Ben Thanh market. The closest part of the park has been recently renovated and now houses a nice coffee shop near the auditorium where free concerts take place frequently. Also close to Ham Nghi and Le Loi streets that take you to the restarted Vung Tau ferry (Ham Nghi) and across town into the business area where the "rich" folk stay in 4 and 5-star hotels and shop in "swish" Dong Khoi street and/or sample expensive beer at the Rex Hotel rooftop bar, made famous as "HQ" for journalists covering the Vietnam war. Also just a walk to the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum and many other "must see" sites including Notre Dame Cathedral and the GPO across town. We've been staying at hotels in the area for years, and can highly recommend this one!
- mgrustiel (8/5): Not bad for $20 - Location-it's right across a park where they hold free shows sometimes. On one hand, you can watch the show/s from your room. On the other hand, it can get pretty noisy at night. There's a money changer nearby so that's convenient. It's also a walking distance from the bus stop. We took the taxi though going to Saigon Square.
Room- I think 3-4 persons can sleep comfortably in 1 room w/ 2 beds. There's a mini fridge, tv, and a dresser. The bathroom's pretty spaceous. There's hot water. And free wifi. Pretty nice for $20.
Price-I have no complaints whatsoever considering that they only charge you $20
Service-They're quite accomodating. We asked them where we can eat authentic vietnamese food and their recommendation was spot on.
Etc-try their free breakfast (bread & eggs plus coffee). It's good. Also, don't worry if they ask for your passport when you check in. I think the gov't inspects it. They'll give it to you when you check out.
- maytee2012 (10/5): location and nice staff - We stayed here 4 nights so the place is good location beside the big park and nice staff to helpful us along trip . This hotel near local market Ben Thanh, Saigon square ( favorite shop No.41B to get a lot of bags also Co.opmart supermarket for a lot of thing to shopping. Finally the hotel is so good.
- CathyN245 (4/5): Not like before.. staff still great though - I stayed here around the end of June 2013.
(+) Love the location. It’s about a block away from the backpackers district (which tends to be a bit louder and rowdier) and about 5 blocks from Ben Thanh Market. There’s a bank right next to it that gives excellent exchange rate. It’s walking distance from everything so I did not have to take a taxi while in Saigon. The front desk was very helpful and gave tips like for example if I did take a taxi how much the cost should be (so I don’t get ripped off). Staff was very friendly.
(-) I booked a “standard room” online ahead of time using agoda.com. When they brought me to the room, I was so disappointed there were no windows. I asked the guy can I get a room with a window and he said that it would be an EXTRA $25 A NIGHT. I paid $22 a night so obviously I did not change rooms. The walls are thin so you can hear everything that goes on in the halls very well. The front desk kept telling me that my room was actually much cheaper but since I booked through agoda.com, I was charged a lot more. I found that annoying (on the hotel’s part) because before I booked I was trying to look for an email address so I could ask about the rate if I booked directly (I stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and remember that it was less than $22 a night for 4 people; and no issues with the bathroom) and I wanted to let them know of my late arrival. However, there was only a long distance phone number. Now the bathroom… First day was fine but the second day and days after that, every time I flushed the toilet, instead of clean water flushing it down, it was nasty brown water with huge chunks of who knows what coming out. It was so disgusting I wanted to throw up several times. I don’t know how the pipes are connected but it almost seemed like waste would be used to flush waste. So gross. The shower was fine; had warm water but sometimes I would look on the ground and see like this brown reddish color meaning the shower water was that color. I didn’t dare think what that was. There were tons of tiny bugs that would come out of the faucet or sink area. I would wash them down the sink but once the sink was dry, they would come out again.
Overall, besides the whole bathroom issue, the stay was ok. Probably won’t stay here again next time I’m in Saigon.
- LaoLong (10/5): Wonderful! - We checked five other hotels in the vicinity, but settled on this because of the extremely helpful and friendly staff. Our room (large; queen bed plus single bed; $25/night) was on the fifth floor at the front, with a fine view and high enough to avoid most of the street noise. All of the staff were ready to look after our every need; but I commend Thùy especially: a young woman who insisted that we check with her even when we bought a coconut, so we would not be cheated. Adequate, simple breakfast was included, served in a convivial family atmosphere in the foyer. We met and befriended a Frenchman who treats this as his second home, and seems to have been adopted by the staff. We confidently left things there when we went Hanoi, and were greeted with great warmth on our return. Very highly recommended!
