Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): Would definitely stay here again - A great place to stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable and on-site restaurant is awesome. The seafood chowder was amazing! Be patient - they don’t make it ahead of time, so it’s wonderfully fresh and full of flavor!! Well worth the wait!

- Tina (6/5): - Ok so they gave my room away and then had to scramble to get me a room which was #4
Not a good room. No hot water in shower, bed is lopsided and it’s a very tiny room but it was clean inside
The fan is very dirty and stinks it needs a good cleaning
But the restaurant is amazing
Really good food and reasonable prices the staff were awesome! It’s the restaurant that saved this place. We would eat there again.
- M (6/5): - Beware of Room 4. Although the room was clean it is a renovated garage. Way too small and actually felt like staying in a garage. Not sure what the other rooms look like but stay away from this room. Would think twice about staying here again.
- DARREN (10/5): - Amazing place to visit
- DARREN (10/5): - Would stay here again

- Gary (10/5): Great place to stay - Very clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Attached restaurant had very good food at very reasonable prices with lots of options.
- Roxanne (8/5): - Would like a coffee maker in the room. However, when I went to the restaurant to get one she did not charge me because I was staying at the motel. Overall, a satisfactory stay and I would probably return.
- Claude (10/5): - Great place. Small, clean, intimate and great staff and super food
- Jeffrey (6/5): - Room #4 was a converted garage
- Joy (10/5): - Very clean room especially for a pet friendly room
- Patrick (10/5): - Perfect spot to stay ehen coming off the ferry. Our room was very clean and looked newly updated even though it was done 8 years ago. Staff and food were spot on.Only there a night but no problem staying longer.
- Hannah (10/5): - It's super clean and staff is very friendly, the location is very convenient - five or six minutes driving towards to the ferry
- Isaac (10/5): - 👍
- Norma (10/5): - We picked this property when booking for ease of access to the NFLD Ferry and also for its amenities and pricing. We were very satisfied with our stay.
- robert (8/5): - easy access and friendly service with restaurant attached. no coffee maker.
- Rose (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Connie (8/5): The place is run down - The restaurant was closed and it appeared there was water gushing from a basement window.
The room was fine. The bed was comfortable which is what we wanted.
- Bernadette (6/5): - Close to NFLD ferry and right off the Trans Canada Hwy. Restaurant was closed and reason was lack or AC. Limited options for dining.
- Jianjun (10/5): - Convenient place to stay
- Deborah (10/5): - Convenient to the ferry
- Catherine (10/5): - Restaurant on site was quite reasonable and very accommodating to my dietary restrictions.
- Dana (8/5): - We stayed here for 2 days. The property was clean, as was the room. Everything seamed a little damp, probably because it was right on the water. It was ok as a place for a quick stop for a night.
- Lea (10/5): - Close to ferry terminal, restaurant on site with good food and friendly staff
- Penny (10/5): - The towel bar was loose and the switch on the hair dryer was broken but I didn’t try to use it after I saw that.
Very clean smelled like spic and span
- Stacey (10/5): - Kow’s Inn was everything we needed for a night’s stay before the ferry to Newfoundland. The room was spacious and very clean. Bed was comfy. We had very tasty burgers from the restaurant.
- Rose (10/5): - Staff was great. Lady that served us for supper on July 28th rocked. Only one working and handled it like a pro.
- Karli (4/5): - Room was large and spacious but some issues. Bathroom vanity light only had 1 of 3 bulbs, bathroom door would not stay open. Tv didn’t work just static when we called the attendant knew about it but said tv was getting fixed on Wednesday and it was Monday. We were only there for one night. The Internet also wasn’t working and we told her and she denied it even though we couldn’t connect to anything. We asked her about these things in the morning. She refused to provide any compensation or discount on the rate, and just denied all of the issues. I finally contacted Expedia because I was frustrated and they contacted her and only then did she come and apologize but said that she gave me an extra pillow so that should’ve been enough. She also lied to Expedia and told them that she had told us about the TV in advance, which she had not. It’s an odd Set up with no customer service I would stay elsewhere
- Pierre (8/5): - Rooms were very clean
- John (8/5): - Great property for an overnight.
- Paul (6/5): - Nice
- Jack (10/5): Good nights sleep. - Place ticks all my boxes. Clean, quiet, comfortable nothing fancy.
Bathroom modernized. Great for overnight waiting for Newfoundland ferry. Restaurant on site.
- Janis Gay (8/5): - It was easy to check in even though I arrived at the hotel around 01:30 AM.
- Deborah (6/5): - It’s convenient to the ferry
- Brenda (10/5): - Second time ee stayed there. Awesome room and awesome staff. Great rest
- John (8/5): - Nice property for price and what we expected
- RUSSELL (8/5): - Clean quiet comfortable room. Full restaurant, good food.
- Douglas (6/5): - Two light bulbs were missing in the bathroom so there were live open sockets. The toilet seat would barely stay on the toilet. And the mosquitoes were terrible, even in the room. The restaurant closed unexpectedly due to the weather so we were left with no place to walk to for dinner. No coffee in the room or available. Other than those items, the beds were nice and there was plenty of parking.
- Russell (10/5): - Room was clean and quiet.
Restaurant was also excellent.
- Alexei (6/5): - The room was large and comfortable. Washroom could use some renovation or at least repairs: the toilet seat was not fixed properly and the towel rack was ready to fall apart. Huge showerhead, but the water pressure was to low for the size. It would work better with a regular showerhead.
The day we arrived, their restaurant was already closed at 6 pm, through it was supposed to work to 8pm. When we were living in the morning, restaurant was still closed at 7:15am, do we had to leave without breakfast.
- Angela (10/5): - Friendly helpful staff and the room was modern, clean and comfortable. Overall a great experience!
- Callum (10/5): - Newly renovated and a very nice lady check by me in. No problems.
- Sarah (10/5): - We were late arriving .
The lady was waiting with the door open.
Room was beautiful with lots of space.
Very clean .
- Hannah (6/5): - Great for a one night stay with reasonable pet fee. Room was stuffy without windows that open, and the AC left the floor damp overnight. Staff was lovely, and location was perfect for driving through.
- Brenda (6/5): - Great location , clean and newly remodelled. Property was dark in the evening when arriving from ferry late. Hard to see. The registration desk was closed had to call a number that sent you to a voicemail. Luckily we found someone at the back of the restaurant rear door.
- David (2/5): - Tiny little room, just enough space around one queen bed, no room for a dining table nor dining chairs like what is advertised in some pictures. No coffee maker nor drink making accessories. They expect you to bring your own drink or buy them somewhere (may be they hope you buy it from their restaurant?). Restaurant is closed part of the day, like morning. No staff to assist with checkout because the restaurant is closed and restaurant is aIso responsible for the room check-in so we had to call them and then leave the key inside the room. It was a stressful stay like in a jail room with bed! Not impressed at all!
- Luciano (8/5): - Quiet
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay in a pinch. - This place is okay at best, pretty bare bones. It’s close to the NL ferry, so it’s quite convenient in that way. Check-in is at the restaurant counter, but there is no signage indicating so. The rooms seem recently renovated in some ways, and there’s the basics on site, but little more. Probably overpriced considering, but they can charge what they want considering the limited options and the proximity to the ferry.
- Ethan (6/5): - Ok place but they had surprise extra fee for dog that was not in initial booking
- John David (6/5): - beautiful lakeside on other side of highway,
unfortunately aircon of restaurant broke down so it was shut on 2nd day of stay. Nearby construction , hopefully temporary, degraded property appreciation. Host very eager to accommodate
- Tracey (10/5): - Awesome, clean room. Great staff and wonderful restaurant.
- Lee (10/5): - Kim the owner is one hardworking lady. She did everything possible to make my stay very comfortable. The seafood chowder was very delicious.
- Lynda R. (10/5): - I liked the size of the bathroom and the walk-in shower. It was a great room too.
- Leona (10/5): - Great location. Rooms are spotlessly clean !! love the deep bathtubs after a long travel day. Great view and restaurant.
- Beth (10/5): - Room was big and clean buy no coffee maker.
- Sophia (8/5): - The rooms were clean, the food was great and the hospitality was great!
Once the property is done being under renovations it’s going to be such a cute place! We’d definitely stay again.
- Donald (10/5): - Clean room and restaurant on site
- Lise (10/5): - Kow's Inn is the pkace to stay when taking the ferry to Newfoundland (6 kms). Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The restaurant's menu had a good selection of food and it was very good.
- David (10/5): - Our room looked to be newly renovated and was excellent the owners have been there 18 years. I saw somewhere the restaurant was permanently closed - not true. Open and serving good food.
- Greg (10/5): - Inn keeper was great. She made sure everything was good. Restaurant had a good breakfasts
- Bonnie (8/5): Great overnight stay for catching the ferry - We enjoyed a quick overnight before catching the ferry to Port aux Basque. The restaurant was good, the staff friendly and the room was small but quiet and comfortable
- Mary (8/5): - Ferry was close by
- Lise (10/5): - Property within 10 min of getting on the ferry to Newfoundland. Very nice restaurant-lots of choice on menu. Chinese food option also and it was-homemade. It was very good.
- Roger (10/5): - Very comfortable beds and good accessible washroom. Resturant was good.
