• Marine (5/5): Très moyen. Une déception - Quartier quand meme sympa, joli, avec beaucoup de commerces. Petit dejeuner : tres bien sachant que c'est inclus. Diner : bien mais... Repas du soir : bien mais... quand on arrive à 14h au check in, il n'y a parfois déjà plus de place. Le principe est sympa mais application à revoir. Quand on arrive le 1er jour on a peu de chance d'y accéder. Et, double peine : la cuisine est fermée pendant le repas : on ne mange pas, et on ne peut pas cuisiner, donc on ne mange toujours pas. Dans les chambres : Tiroirs sous les lits en mauvais état, acier très bruyant. Rideaux non occultants. Porte qui claquent très fort. On dirait que des gens vivent là tellement il y a de bagages accumulés dans des coins. Chambres très petites et encombrées. Odeurs en entrant dans la chambre. Ca manque de ventilation et/ou propreté Électricité sortie du siecle dernier. Prises qui ne fonctionnent pas, tablettes pas toujours presentes, j ai demandé à changer de lit. Pas de lumieres individuelle. Les colocataires allument la lumiere centrale. Si on a un lit en hauteur, on l'a directement dans le visage. Ce fut mon cas. Sanitaires : Mixtes... On nous propose des chambres de femmes, on se retrouve dans des sanitaires communs avec des hommes qui font leurs besoins les portes ouvertes. Ensemble pas forcément très propre.

• Azevedo Calçada (5/5): - Really good breakfast! Cool vibe! Cleaning was pretty bad in bathrooms, showers and bedrooms.
• Stefanie Go (7/5): okay for the price (good breakfast, little comfort) - The breakfast provided was very nice, you could choose between toast, jam, eggs, beans, muesli and pancakes daily - hot food was cooked by the hostel staff and could be picked up in the kitchen. Also the hostel had a fun mix of long term tenants, tourists, students and workers. It was noticeable that the staff had disagreements between each other and that made it a little stressful at times. The showers and toilets were cleaned regularly but blocked quite easily - so even though they were cleaned multiple times a day (i think) it wasn't unusual to find a toilet blocked. Also the bed was quite short (less than 170cm), not a standard sized bed. It wasn't an issue for me because I sleep curled up anyways but my partners feet were hanging off the end of the bed a little.

• Thomas (4/5): Nice garden, disappointing stay overall. - I liked the communal yard garden space. It was a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The bed in the room didn’t have a headboard, which would have been fine if the mattress had been flush against the wall. As it wasn’t, the only pillow repeatedly fell down behind the bed. The bathroom was also extremely cramped, with the sink and toilet nearly obstructing each other. Both the sink and shower drains were blocked, and using the shower caused water to build up to the point where we were concerned the room would flood, so we were unable to shower properly. We also had to repeatedly ask for toilet roll during our stay. Communication with staff was sometimes difficult, despite us being English speakers. In addition, there appeared to be several long-term occupants in the hostel who seemed less than welcoming towards guests, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable at times. The painted Union Jack in the communal garden is dangerously slippery when wet and really needs to be addressed. I nearly slipped several times.

• Mariah (6/5): It did the job, but we won't be coming back. - The location is good and the staff is very friendly. They were very helpful when we arrived early and let us leave our bags to explore. The breakfast was filling and there is always tea and coffee available. We didn't try the dinner, but that seemed easy to sign up for as long as you were early enough. This hostel clientele is not mostly travelers but seems to be a mix of some backpackers and people who are trying to stay in London longer term. It is very noisy. The steps to the lowest level are very steep and there is no handrail at the top. I had to carry my colleague's bag because it wasn't safe for them to use the stairs with the extra weight. The rooms were very stuffy without enough ventilation.

De gusto personal, el acolchado no tiene la misma medida que la cama por lo cual se complica un poco quedar bien tapado por la noche.

• Reha (6/5): - The staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating and understanding! The breakfast spread is great with hot eggs, beans and pancakes that are freshly prepared everyday, along with plenty of cereals and toast. Shared bathrooms were surprisingly clean. The property is also in a good location. The room was very small for 8 guests, as they all had huge suitcases and bags (odd for a "backpackers" hostel) because of which the room felt very cramped and there was no space to walk/stand. Scattered personal belongings and food crumbs also made the already very little space very dirty. The metal storage boxes were very loud to open/close/move and had sharp edges. The bed ladder was also slightly painful on the feet and narrow. Some of the guests in the room were very disrespectful of the shared spaces in the room and misunderstood the concept of a "hostel" which requires understanding and bearing with the lifestyles and routines of the different people sharing the same room.

They provide free breakfast for everyone and a complimentary dinner for a limited number of guests. Free tea and coffee are also available throughout the day.☕ ​There are activities every evening, including game nights, PS5, and creative workshops. It is a great environment to meet inspiring people and practice English. I truly enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back!🤗💛☀️

There is a kitchen where you can prepare your food and there is also breakfast and supper provided every day. • Lizeth (7/5): Bra för enstaka nätter men inte en lång vistelse - Frukosten och middagen var superbra och personalen var väldigt snäll och hjälpsam. Det var ett ganska fint område och nära till metro för att ta sig in till centrum Sängarna och kuddarna var tyvärr inte bekväma överhuvudtaget och i mitt rum luktade det ganska mycket då jag misstänkte (och är nästan säker) att det bodde hemlösa personer i vissa rum. Golvet under sängarna var fulla med damm och de mixade toaletterna/duschar var inte helt rena och hade dåligt standard. Toaletterna och duschar för endast tjejer var dock välstädade och mycket bättre.

L'auberge nous a néanmoins accordes une petite faveur en compensation en gardant nos bagages gratuitement le dernier jour.

The wifi was really bad and we could only occasionally connect upstairs. There were several disruptive guests that loomed in the bathrooms and hallways at weird hours (not really the hostel's fault but made it feel very uncomfortable). The cleaning was okay, but probably could be more frequent.

• anais (7/5): Bon séjour dans l’ensemble, petit dejeuner très bien pour le rapport qualité prix le personnel est très aimable néanmoin - Les personnes qui s’occupent de l’établissement sont très gentils et serviables. Heureusement il y avait des douches dédiés au femme au sous sol car le reste des salles de bains étaient pas très convenables malgré le fait qu’elles soient nettoyées tout les jours les personnes sur places ne prennent pas forcément soient de laisser propre derrière eux. Il aurait néanmoins fallut plus de douche dédié au femmes. Les chambres sont très sommaires, je conseille néanmoins d’apporter ces draps car les draps sur place même laver sont très usé.

Das Zimmer war bei der Ankunft nicht gereinigt(in der Dusche überall Haare, Lashes und Mascara klebten am Spiegel und an der Wand, wattestächen, natürlich benutzt, waren in der Komode,…), die Unterkunft an und für sich sehr schmutzig, wie das Hygienestandart 5 zustande kam ist mir mehr wie rätselhaft. Frühstück ist mehr eklig (alle fassen alles mit der Hand an, nachdem jeder selbst das Geschirr spült und es die meisten nicht für nötig halten dies ordentlich zu machen ist 90% dreckig).

• Adam (2/5): NOT RECCOMEND - There were only two good things in that place: location and cat as a part of the staff. ;) Room was very small. There were no individual lights for each bed, only one lamp at the ceiling. No luggage lockers in the room, only a metal boxes under the beds that are already very used and make horrible noises. Common kitchen is closed in the afernoon for 2 hours (!) because staff is preparing the dinner at that time, so you cannot make any food yourself then or even get an access to the fridge. Toilets and bathrooms are small, used and with a strange smell. And the biggest problem in this hostel is cleanliness - crumbs on the floor and tables, stains in the bathrooms. After the night, there was a stain at the table in the lobby, probably because something was spilled. And around 1 p.m., that stain still wasn't removed.

Étant sur le palier, tout le monde passait devant notre porte pour aller aux sanitaires à l’étage en dessous et cela faisait beaucoup de bruit (parquet qui grince, porte qui claque,…)

L'organisation l'accès à un petit déjeuner un dîner gratuit c'est un véritable plus quand on est en visite dans Londres. Des animations et des jeux de société à disposition. La gentillesse des professionnel et encadrant présent. La qualité des aliments proposés. La sécurité pour les enfants avec un accès à l'extérieur L'inconvénient d'une auberge de jeunesse forcément c'est que il y a beaucoup de monde et que chacun a des rythmes différents donc du bruit le soir la nuit. Les lits ne sont pas extraordinairement confortable et l'isolation phonique dans les chambres avec le plancher c'est pas le top Mais rien qui empêche de passer un bon séjour

• Ava (4/5): Nice experience in London but not extremely central and the cleanliness of the bathrooms could be improved - I liked the actual room, stayed in a private triple which was nice. Mattress was comfy. The communal bathrooms were not very clean at all, though the women’s only one was cleaner. During the included breakfast there weren’t plates and bowls available for us.

• Antony (10/5): Amazing Social Community with Free Dinner - It was amazing. They gave wonderful breakfasts and dinners free of charge. The quality was so so good. The staff were super helpful. Every night they had social activities and they welcomed every one to participate. I even left to get my flight. But I missed my flight. I then reviewed many hostels in London, and decided to return to St James.

• Tatiana (10/5): Very friendly place, thoughtfully looked after, clean and very affordable price. Thank you! - I think they are an amazing team, and they look after travellers and guests very well. The breakfast is very good. Thank you! Not sure, a state only one night.
• Sandra (7/5): - Good quality for the price. Convenient location. Helpful staff (they helped me with my broken lock). While I mentioned the staff being helpful in the positive aspects, I also have to note that there was some miscommunication, or a lack thereof, which led to complications during my stay, as I had not been informed about the bed that had been assigned to me. This resulted in all my belongings being placed into a bag, and me returning to an empty bed because it had been cleared (which I understand, in a way, considering my things were on a bed that was supposed to be unoccupied according to their system. However, it was not pleasant to arrive at my room late at night, discover that my belongings were gone, and have to deal with all of that situation.

• Wenyan (8/5): - The location is fantastic, near Earl's Court Tube station, very convenient to get to places in central London. The atmosphere in this hostel is homely. I was nearly put off by some negative comments, but gave it a go to see it myself. The people working there are very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a three bed dormitory room. It was clean enough in the sink and the beddings were fine too. The bonus was breakfast included. It was decent enough for a night's rest with a small budget. The socket on the wall was loose. I could not use it to charge the power bank.
