• Reilly (4/5): Really bad service - First off, I am not someone who generally does many reviews, but after the service we received from the owner/manager, I feel compelled to review to let other travelers know. When we checked in, there were many things broken. (The sink was loose, the shower was leaking and the shower head was broken off, the towel rack was broken, the reading lights were out, there were problems with the shower fixtures, etc. I sent a note to the manager and owner of the hotel expressing some frustration, since we paid a ton of money for this room. Had the owner / manager acknowledged my note, I'd probably give the a 3 star. But I sent him 4 separate notes, and also sent other employees (who were awesome, BYW) notes. I asked them to relay my message to the owner/manager, which they did. We checked out yesterday, and I still haven't heard a peep from the owner. Really disappointing that this is the way they prioritize their guests. Unacceptable.

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views of the Venetian harbor and the elegant charm of the suite. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and immaculately clean—with high ceilings, modern amenities, and thoughtful touches throughout. The sunset view from the balcony was absolutely magical—one of the best we’ve ever seen. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Chania’s Old Town, yet peaceful and quiet once inside. The staff was incredibly warm, professional, and helpful with local recommendations and anything we needed. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and served in-room, which felt so personal and luxurious. • Ada (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in Suite with Sea View. The location is central, the view is breathtaking. Huge windows, a lot of light. The loft is very spacious and nicely decorated. Breakfast is delivered to the room at the requested time and is quite good. The parking location is tricky, you have to listen carefully to the instructions from the hotel. It is best to meet with the receptionist before you attempt to get to the parking lot, as they usually suggest.

This apartment sits above the harbor and has a beautiful view. You walk downstairs and walk out into the market. No elevator in the building and walking up 3 floors. That’s tiring after walking around in the city for 4-5 hours a day.

The staff are friendly, helpful and went above and beyond our expectations to meet our needs. Delivered to our room every morning was a fresh and delicious breakfast with a bonus of a variety to choose from. We absolutely adored our spectacular view directly overlooking Old Town harbour. The bed was SO comfortable. There is nothing to list here!

Teda was a wonderful host and played a huge part in making our experience one of the best. She was extremely helpful and accommodating. We had a few occasions where we needed to leave super early (before breakfast time) and Teda was so wonderful to leave us snacks in our room so we wouldn’t go hungry. The hotel itself goes without saying, is stunning, clean and in excellent condition. Such a wonderful stay here. I’d like to thank everyone for their wonderful hospitality and service. It most certainly made it one of the best hotel stays for me. I cannot wait to be back! Nothing! Everything was perfect. If I was being super picky I would say the stairs to get to the room can ache your legs but that would never stop me from going back to the hotel.

• Kyle (10/5): Perfect Location with Incredibly Helpful Staff! - Could not say enough good things about this hotel! First, our flight was delayed out of the US which forced us to arrive a day later and into Heraklion instead. The staff were extremely helpful and responsive in adjusting our car rental reservation for this change. We also unfortunately received a traffic ticket on our way and again staff gave us easy and detailed instructions on where/how to pay this. Lastly, we left our Kindle behind and they mailed it to our next destination! Thank you Vranas for making a stressful travel situation much more relaxing! The hotel is perfectly located in the old town with a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. The room was clean, bed comfortable, and breakfast delicious. We would absolutely not hesitate to stay here again!
• Jetaime (10/5): The most romantic room, great views. - Having breakfast brought at the room was a treat. The staff always willing to help with the best tips and making reservations for us (their English is excellent) and if there is a grade for hospitality they have the highest score with honors. They have a parking within a few blocks from the property that was very convenient... we left the car parked there the 4 days of our stay. (You don't need a car if you are going to be just in Chania but you'll need it to drive around the island). The views from the room are formidable, you can see Chania come to life in the early morning, the colors of the sea with sunrise lights... I would give a stay in this hotel as a honeymoon gift in a blink! (If you are a grandma like me your grandkids will remember you forever with a smile :) )

She was extremely accommodating, willing to help in any way and generally pleasant to speak with. Strongly recommend for anyone looking for old Town Chanian charm. No hooks in the bathroom and bathroom fixtures (soap dish, towel rack) were coming off the wall or needed fixing. These were very minor issues compared to the overall experience.

• Silje (8/5): We had a very nice stay here, and we can recommend, although earplugs should be used at night. - Perfect, was a bit sceptical that we had to walk there and it wasn’t at the hotel itself, but we found that it worked very good and we ate a wonderful breakfast every day of the stay. You dont choose your own like a buffet, but that too was fine and it was enough for each of us. The breakfast might look small when it gets served, but we stayed full for hours. All in all very good. We were not the biggest fans of the beds in the loft. I slept in the double bed in the loft, and had an issue with “falling” between the two mattresses, something that was pretty annoying. This might not be a problem if there had been two people in the bed, but for a single person trying to enjoy the space, it was annoying. The air conditioning was also LOUD, and in hindsight we should have used the air plugs provided. This was in issue for me in the loft and my parents downstairs. It’s important to point out that we barely used the air conditioner, but as soon as anyone else in the small hotel used theirs, it was like living on an airport.

• Anna (10/5): perfect Chania harbor view with lots of space to spread out - This boutique hotel is an amazing way to enjoy the Chania harbor and look out across all the hustle and bustle of the harbor charm from the privacy of the awesome upper window. staff made wonderful dinner reservations for us too. there are quite a few stairs to the rooms with no railing so just be aware of that if you have difficulty with your knees. completely manageable though, and the staff helps with luggage. a lovely bottle of wine and mini bottle of champagne await you at the top!

However, Inside the bathroom there was mold. The pool had no chlorine in it which i thought was disgusting. And finally, what bothered me the most and the things that will never allow me to even consider staying there again are the roaches. I must have seen around 10 of them throughout our room. I hope they fumigate....hotel has alot of potential. Staff was helpful as well.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel is a small boutique hotel in the heart of old Chania town. That means, there are no cars where this hotel is, it is a short walk (5 mins) from where the taxi would drop you off. On arrival, we were greeting by Angelina from the front desk, she walked to the taxi stop to meet us to ensure that we could find our way. Already the service was beyond anything we expected. The hotel is an old building that maintained its charm with modern renovations. I will say this - it looks EXACTLY like the photos posted on the hotel's website. There is no photoshop here. I didn't add much photos of the room because they look exactly like the ones that the hotel have on their website. It was beautiful and very spacious, clean and comfortable. Located right near the harbor, and overlooking the water. We had the penthouse, it was amazing, we loved the outside terrace with full dining table and chairs with a patio umbrella. There was a full kitchen with dishes and utensils, stove etc....no microwave. The upstairs bedroom had a very large hot tub, and a rainshower head. It was extremely quiet and comfortable. The views from the room were absolutely beautiful. The service was really amazing. Each morning, we had breakfast brought to our room. Even on one occasion they brought it at a time just to be able to accommodate our schedule. Angelina and George helped us tremendously with any transportation needs, recommendations on restaurants and anything else we needed.

• Kate (10/5): - This hotel is one of a kind. It is possibly one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The room is huge and uniquely built, facing the harbor with direct view of the light house. The room was so big and comfortable, I can be just as happy staying in and gazing out to the water all day. The location is so convenient with charming alleyways at every which way. More importantly, there is no shortage of great restaurants and cafes. The staff are wonderful. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend this hotel for it is not just a place to sleep and have showers, but truly an unforgettable experience.

• Avery (10/5): Surpassed all expectations! - We had an absolutely amazing stay at Residenza Vranas - it was the highlight of a multi-week honeymoon trip. The staff went out of their way to make it a special visit for us, upgrading our room to the beautiful penthouse and leaving us wine, desserts, and flowers in our room. The view from the penthouse terrance was absolutely stunning - we spent a good amount of time enjoying our wine and people-watching over the harbor below. The room itself is beautifully decorated, with nice wood floors and tasteful details. The bed was very comfortable, shower was great - all of the little details were in order. Service was wonderful - they were very helpful with answering questions and making suggestions, and generously allowed us to check out a bit late. And the breakfast! Huge and delicious. Really, every step of the way they exceeded my expectations, and I'm so grateful to have had such a memorable experience. I absolutely recommend staying here for a special experience and I hope we're able to return!
• Tamara (10/5): - This hotel is the BEST hotel in Chania for multiple reasons. Before even arriving I emailed them a question about parking and they answered immediately . You are not able to park in front of hotel because it its located in the historical district that is closed off to cars but I was told parking was available free with in a short walk to hotel. When we picked up our rental car the rental company told us it was the best hotel in Chania and we couldn't agree more. The LOCATION and VIEW is everything!! Surrounded by many wonderful restaurants and shops. Huge windows slide open over looking the harbor . The interior was immaculate and gorgeous. The front desk was hospital and very knowledgeable. We were interested in booking a private boat and they had information within minutes. We had a complimentary brunch and we could not believe how BIG it was. Yogurt , fruits, toasts, cakes, omelets, the most amazing orange juice and more delivered to our room. I highly recommend this hotel and we would come back here in a heartbeat!!
