- Guest (3/5): I suggests that booking.com go to the guesthouses and take photos yourself! - Not applicable Was booked into a cabin. Definitely not 4 star rating as advertised. Was over priced. Curtains was about 10 cm too short. People from outside could have looked into the cabin and lights shine in during the night. Had to use the blanket and cushions to try to make a plan. I was told that the whole place was fully booked and I cannot be moved to a room in the house, but I did not see any other people there. The next morning I could hear everything next door. We were also stuck for a while in the room, because the key did not want to unlock the cabin. Maybe the rooms in the house was worth a 4 star rating, but definitely not the outside cabinets. That is more 3 star rating and can be less priced!

The decor and linen were worn and the shower mixer was dicey. There was no note left with the wifi password and request for an iron was ignored.

Owner charged me R800.00 for a (already broken and glued back together) vase that my toddler grandson bumped over by accident. A complete rip-off and very petty considering we spent ~R25,000 across 3 rooms and 6 nights and returned 3 times over a three week period. No doubt it has been glued back together again waiting for the next sucker.

- Glenn (10/5): Beyond expectations, a hidden gem! - Donald is an excellent host and so helpful as are all the staff. The breakfast is delicious and good value. The location is convenient and central to Benoni and for access to the airport. The property facilities and gardens are beautiful with something to entertain the children and the adults (jungle gym, swimming pool, pool table). Rooms are large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Highly recommend staying at Summer Gardens if you need somewhere to stay in and around Benoni. Can’t think of anything.
